Rate this book
When Lefayne Page’s body is hijacked by Rhiannon, a stiletto wearing instrument of death, she learns the Grim Reaper was concocted for children’s scary stories; Keepers decide who lives or dies, one pen stroke at a time.

For hundreds of years, Rhiannon has wreaked havoc on the world, abusing the power of dealing death, leaving a trail of dead humans and Keepers in her wake. The Conductus, seer and once trusted advisor to the Keepers, risks it all, meddling with fate to secure Lefayne, a neophyte seer, as her successor.

Forced to trade places with Rhiannon, the death-proof, unstoppable herpes of the undead, Lefayne will stop at nothing to harness her newly unleashed abilities to protect the ones she loves. With help from the supernatural abilities of the Keepers to fight off an army of undead, maybe, just maybe, she can outsmart the system of death.

Wow! What a ride

If you haven't already read the origin story, Necromancer, I highly recommend you do so. It will help with knowing who's who.

One of the early scenes is a bully coercing the protagonist into doing something. I don't like bullies. And I definitely don't like them getting away with stuff. I would have put the book down at this point (I'm known to do that), except I promised someone I would read the whole book. And oh boy am I glad I did.

The protagonist finds her footing and is able to keep her head above water, and learns her powers at breakneck speed. It is an excellent read.

I'm trying not to give any spoilers, but I do want to warn you, there are some parts of this book you should not eat while you read. I didn't get nauseous, but I definitely got queasy.

There is no cliff hanger, but a few threads were left dangling and a bonus chapter really leaves you wanting the next book. Woo hoo.

Conductus, much like the origin story, Necromancer, is a really great start to the Lefayne Page world. I thought this storyline was really interesting with great characters. I would highly suggest reading the origin story first because it will introduce the characters well and set up this story for you. I would highly recommend this series, but beware that some scenes aren't for the faint of heart.

This is a really well written YA fantasy. It had so much going for it. There are some of the regular YA tropes but they become background to the main arc. The character development, particularly for LeFayne, is outstanding. Her growth throughout the book is so interesting to watch. The concept of power is explored. The truth that power is neither good nor bad, it is what you decide to do with it, is expressed eloquently and at times humorously. This was a treat to read.

Great book with a strong female lead. What I liked most about this book was it's unique p!ot. It's not your everyday cookie cutter book. The bonus story definitely leaves you wanting to read more. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Lefayne Page is a Seer, who has her body hijacked by a wicked necromancer. Lefayne must learn how to use her ability to get back to her body and her boyfriend who is in danger. An interesting read with some unique elements. I would recommend it

This one just wasn’t for me. I was unable to stay interested in the book. My favorite character was Jermey even with him not being such a big character. I like that the author actually had a fight scene instead of skipping it or making it short.

This was a unique paranormal story I totally enjoyed. An evil woman being taken down by a high schooler, not your usual story. But this storyline and the characters were all great. I’d recommend it.
