Okay book.

I have been enjoying the series. This book has two issues though.

The first is all the profanity. All the books in the series suffer from the same issue. All the cursing and swearing really distracts from the story. It's so vague and not original at all.

Anyone can use profanity. Only someone that is creative can express themselves and portray feelings outrage and anger without resorting to profanity.

The second issue that the story has is using less and less litrpg message. At the beginning every time the main character has a rise a mind screen message would be shown to discuss his new powers. Now it's not mentioned very often or even ignored.

For those two reasons I have taken 2 stars away.

As with many LitRPG authors, he's getting far too tied up in 'game mechanics' and losing sight of the story.
I probably skipped about 1/3 of the book by scanning past huge tracts of exposition about combat strategy, self doubt, common sense approaches to facing challenges, and unnecessary and debates about different levels of proficiency.
And that's all without the excessive teen-age sexual tension drama.
I feel that a good editor could have removed at least a third of this book and pushed to have more of what Thompson is good at, characters with reasonable depth and an engaging story line.
Sadly, unlike his earlier books, this one had little of either.

Not as much character growth as I have been spoiled with in the previous books, but still awesome. Can’t wait to see how the MCs blood ideal evolves in particular.

I love the philosophy of this series. Which is funny because normally I hate that sort of thing because it pulls me out of the story flow. In our society certain things are programmed into us that are bass ackward and make no sense when you think about it. I love the perspective and different point of view this series has on some of our cultural nuances.

An excellent addition to this series!

As an avid fan of this series I eagerly await each one of these books. The story progresses well and I was happy to see some more personal character development as well as the introduction to new enemies as well as expanding on the lore of this amazing world!

To answer your questions the end of.your book Mr Thompson, please keep writing this amazing series!!!

Protect, prevail and be king !!

Binge read all the 6 books in order once again with the release of the newest book in the challenger series. Some of the initial positive points are overused and seem repetitive. The adventure and mystery portion needs more emphasis if the series is going to stretch much further. But good read as always and enjoyed revisiting such a great world and lovable characters.

Another amazing story

Another 5 star book, i could not out it down, the way the story changes and the stuff that was has to deal with. The other perspectives are a good touch with not taking anything away from the story in fact adding to it. Cannot wait for the seventh book and I am very excited with how it finished. Thank you for writing.

Parts are getting stale, growth is needed.

At this point in a series of is grow or die. This one is dying. It is not dead though, it needs to show better character development. The playful relationship quirks now seem mean, the hesitant relationship actions seem naive in a moronic way, not an innocent one. The character interactions are old hat, it is the same old same old.

Awesome sequel

The author continues to grow the MC in this sequel of Challengers Call as well as those around him. A little less written about the minor characters in this book, which is a miss as they are fun to read about as they antagonize the MC. A great book and one of my favorite series.

You know what you get

If you've made it six books into the series, then you know what you're going to get at this point. The plot is the same as previous books and hits all of the same notes. If that's your thing, you'll love it, if not, then you probably won't. I could do with a bit more character development/change and some plot variation, but that's just me.

Fantastic installment to continue expanding a brilliant universe

Another great installment of the challenger's call series. The characters are believable; flawed and human but pure and full fleshed out. The story is gripping and achieves the difficult task of evolving the challenges the protagonist faces, who himself is constantly gaining power and strength.

One of the best in the series

This series is so remarkable in how it reveals such deep truths about the human condition. It's funny, well-paced, and frankly, I think the magic systems in it are awesome. I love the depth of the world building, and I especially love the characters. Keto it up Nathan!

Another great addition to the series

This series hits all of the right buttons. Magic system that is well thought out and reasonable. Character development is focused on believable accomplishments overcoming challenges that reinforce the characters motives and beliefs. Write faster please.

Tumultuous Reading in a good way

Im very surprised as the quality of writing and the dynamics of the characters and the rises/ideals etc keep expanding very well making this very hard to put down and also very engrossing with how engaged i have become from book 1. With hopefully a lot more books to go and more fix for me an easy 5 stars.

More winning

Another fantastic entry by Nathan. I disliked the massive increase of F-bombs. It feels like the series started closer to one of the best YA series out there, and shifted in this book to be a great mature novel. Which is sad because I was planning on reading it with my kids. Some amazing ideas here for youth to consider.

Entertaining spin on an oldie

While the series continues to be fun and entertaining, due to the nature of the plot, is becoming a bit formulaic. There's nothing wrong with it, since Butcher has been doing that with Dresden and entertaining everyone for years.

New settings abound and we get to meet a new satellite. Fun times.

Books keep getting better

This entry didn’t have the action of previous novels, yet still shines the brightest in the series. The author duo, as I have to assume the wife provides ample input, captures their audience yet again. This novel both shows growth of the MC and supporting cast while teasing an immense breakthrough to come. Excited for the next book!

Amazing

Despite the horrendous wait on Amazon's side, this was amazing as always. Nathan, man, you truly are great, and I'm looking forward to the next one and possibly trying to figure out what may happen next.

A good counter to dark fantasy

There are so many stories with a dark brooding mc that restricts himself to a role or ideal from fear. This story shows that fear of stepping up is not the only option. We can look for a chance to be a better version of ourselves. Book 6 takes this full circle and I am glad I read it.

Amazing

Nathan pulls off one of the most difficult plot transitions in LitRPG stories: the power creep. This book kicks the conflicts up to the next Risen Level by expertly scaling up the difficulty to match the protagonist's increased power without diluting either side of the conflict. I loved it and can't wait for more!

Nice

This book had a lot of character building between two of the main characters and while a lot was going on in the background there wasn't as much a world development as it has been in past books but still a great read

Found by accident

One of the best series I have read. I found the first book by accident on Audible while trying to find something to listen to while at work. After that I could not read the feast of them fast enough.

Wonderful!, but short

I am a big fan of this book series, and have read every book multiple times. I loved this book a lot, but I feel less happened within this book than normal. I can't wait until the next book is published! Mr. Thompson, if you're reading this, please hurry!

Nathan Thompsons writing just gets better with each book. He weaves facinating stories, with amazing characters that he breathes life into. This book keeps that alive and well, with a very well written and enthralling story

Change of Pace

The pattern breaks, leaving a book about guerilla warfare instead of fantasy questing. The new characters shine, the new challenges are interesting, and the expanded lore and high-level power make me excited for future volumes.

Enjoyable

I’m really enjoying the series. I’m glad that Stell is finally being less of an idiot now as conquering her fear and denial. The dance magic is a bit light on the explanation of it’s power. I’m looking forward to seeing how Chris and the new antagonist develop.

I love this storyline.

I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book in the series to see what new race he finds and what new powers he unlocks. This entire series is a wonderful journey and I’m enjoying every second of it.
