My whole life, I’ve kept the secret of what I really am far away from the entire world. It was safer that way, but I always knew that the day would come when the Sacri Guild would finally find out about my existence.

The Uprising doesn’t intend to leave me alone. If I don’t do something about them, they are going to kill me. That was the reason I gave to myself when I decided to go after them. But things rarely go as planned, especially for me. Before long, I find myself on the run from both the Uprising and the Guild, with a hellbeast family of seven in tow.

Yes, I always knew this day would come, but I also thought that I would be on my own when it did. Now, I’m not. I’ve got Kit and his new family, Malin and Jamie, the Conti wolf Pack by my side--and Damian Reed.

For better or for worse, we’re all in this together now, so running away is no longer an option. For once, I’m not afraid of what the Guild could do to me. I’m going to stay and fight even if it costs me my life.

Wrong man

Damien has treated Sin terribly. Every book needed with him failing her and their relationship yet a simply I love you and all is forgiven. Argh. It isn’t permission to be an arse. Love is actually treating the person with respect. So disappointed the relationship played out this way.

Rcvd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents. We start off with Damian in Canada searching for a Prime Witch for the Guild. Sin is trying not to think about him but he hasn't contacted her in a few weeks...he has definitely gotten under her skin. One night Sin gets woken up by Kit being frantic and then follows him to an warded house. Once Sin breaks the ward, Kit runs into the house and out pops 5 other hellbeasts like himself..what on earth!! Sin is freaking out and then Kit explain this is his family...who knew. On her way home, Sin sees the bane of her existence....Damians ex and her new vampboy. When he charges Sin, she doesnt need to know that Damian is there but then an ancient being steps forth and tears apart the vamp...OMG!! Sin doesnt know what is going on...things are definitely weird with a capital W. Damian is told by his ancient friend that the Prime is in his city and he wants him out. What Damian doesnt know is that there is more going on with this Prime than anyone thought. Sin and the Conti brothers decided to set up the vampire and be done with the evil but it turns into a ambush. While trying to save her comrades, Sin reveals her power and now she fears she is on the Guilds list. Hiding is the only way to save her life and the lives of the ones she cares for..but at what cost? Drama, uncovering truths of epic proportions make this book a MUST read!!

✳️✳️ONE MAGNIFICENT JOURNEY✳️✳️
Skimpy skeeter! Hoxa spins this tumultuous tilt-a-wheel with gale force winds, shaking things up and calling the shots, divvying out some brutal facts, ruthless lessons and relentless determination, grabbing you from the start and holding steady until the end, propelling this jewel to staggering heights. One action packed, heart pounding, pulse racing, adrenaline pumping, block busting smackdown, raising the stakes and dispatching foes, putting our characters through their paces, fusing this gem together seamlessly. Presentation and attributes in layer upon layer that you peel back with each page your drawn into this tangled web so precisely and tight until nothing else exists, secrets confessed, revelations unmasked and promises made, blowing it into a frenzy with astonishing impacts, blasting this hot little number to life brilliantly. The characters are complex, realistic and genuine with relatable qualities and individual traits, adding depth and diversity, transforming into genuine outstanding personalities. The scenes are abundantly descriptive with colorful details that blend and flow, creating a majestic backdrop that's so rich and lively it feels as though you're part of the story instead of on the sidelines, feeling everything the characters feel. Amazing job Hoxa, thanks for sharing this little jewel with us.

Overall: 4/5

Plot and themes: 3/5

Characters: 4/5

Writing style: 3/5

Attention-grabbing: 4/5

This is the final book in the New York Shade part of this world, the closing to Sin and Damian's story. The Uprising is brutally set on ending her, either via exposing her or via death whichever comes first. When she gets put in the most danger she's really ever been in, she has to figure out a way to save herself and those around her.

I'd say this is a pretty solid conclusion. It has it's problems just like anything else but honestly it ended things in a way that leaves things open while still tying everything up. I wish we had seen some more open communications but you win some you lose some. I really liked the way we resolved the whole her-survival-is-a-crime thing cause it stays authentic to the idea that she's still illegal but also leaves room for a realistic solution.

Not much to say, I think I might even read the sequel series just because I like the way that magic is build and the way she writes characters but also we'll see. It took me forever to crack this review out too so I've mostly mellowed past any issues I may have had with it.

Good

A month ago Damien stood Sin up for their agreed-upon date, only she had no idea it was to stop her from becoming the focus of a guild investigation into an Alpha Prime.
And although Damien manages to hide her from the guild, he unwittingly brings things with the Uprising to a head...

This is the concluding story in the New York shade series, picking up where the last book left off. It’s not a standalone, and since the story arcs are ongoing, you need to have read the other books first.
In this one, everything comes to a finish, and all loose ends are tied up.
The author did leave us with several characters that look as though they could use their own stories (Carter and Moira!), and Damien and Sin seem like they might be willing to share some more adventures with us, so who knows?

It’s an excellent series, with lots of action, interesting characters, and a few support characters that like to steal the show (Kit).
I certainly hope that we’ll see more books set in this universe!
If you’re a fan of urban fantasy, then you’ll probably enjoy this fascinating world and the people that live there.

Book 4 was Ahhhmazing! Non stop action and suspense. Sin finally reveals some secrets that allow her to be her true self which is beautiful to see. Kit plays a big part as usual in this book - I seriously think he should have a spin off, maybe a prequel of his life before he met sin? Actually I would like to see a few spin offs - the wolf brothers, the Bane, Malin -so many great characters. I love this Authors descriptive writing - you can see the book play out in your mind. I hate to see this series end - it is one of those series that I got extremely invested in the characters early on and could not put each book down. I would highly recommend getting the full series so you can go from one book to the next - you won't want to wait. I look forward to more by this author and hopefully this won't be the last we see of Sin, Kit, Damian & those sexy wolf brothers!

Boy was this an exciting ending!

Sin is still mad at Damien, but their problems just got a lot worse. She has changed a lot since we first met her but communicating is still not one of her assets. Damien isn't much better even though everything he does is for her. She doesn't know that. Carter is so easy going and funny and they have gotten pretty close. I love the new family members and how sweet they are (in a monstrous sort of way). Besides the tension from the battle with The Uprising Sin has so many other things going on that there is never a dull moment. By this time, Sin has won me over and I think she is great. I love the talks she's having with Kit these days. This is a series I will read again it was so good. Don't miss out!

I liked the series overall. But it did suffer from a touch of insta-love, a constant break-up/make-up cycle, and a lack of communication between Sin and Damien.

Loved this series

The 4 books kept me gripped from start to finish. You fall in love with Sin’s story and all her challenges along the way. Really loved how the writer kept it going for the entire series. I didn’t want Sin’s story to end. It’s hard not to be team Carter much of the time too. There is suspense, action, a kick ass heroine, sexy slow burn romance and soo much more. You won’t regret starting this series!

The final instalment rounds up Sinea's fight against the uprising. There's a little surprise regarding Kit and i loved that part as l had the feeling he was side-lined in the previous book. Everybody is there to help, the Conti clan, Malin & Jamie, and Kit of course.
Not everything was cleverly planned but it in the end it didn't matter. A few loose ends could have been tied up for me...

Alpha Magic (The New York Shade #4), my seventh read from author D.N. Hoxa. Non-stop action, a kick-ass heroine, what more can a reader ask for? "I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I'll be reading more from this author! (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Sin and cohorts are back

More fun, stay magic and mayhem for Sin and her cohorts in the conclusion of this story arc. The magic, characters and battles keep the adventure flowing at a fun pace. Sin's family is extended in a great way. Hopefully the characters return in the future.

Omg I'm not ready for this to end

I loved this series so much. It's cute, funny, action packed, and exhilarating to read. I didn't even read the blurb for this book before grabbing it and reading it. If this is then end if the series - well its still great. I'm just going to miss all these characters.

Honorable sexy and strong

Damian and Sin are all of those . doing what's right. Being strong enough to stand for others but also face your own doubts.
I enjoyed the flow of the story and Sinea's strength. No shrinking violet here. She also said what was on her mind so that things didn't fester or distract from the story.

I really enjoyed this series and this final book brought everything together nicely. Fast paced and with a HEA. However, my personal opinion is she chose wrongly as the relationship with Damain was slightly toxic. Carter was the better choice and his character had more depth. Still, my personal opinion aside, I enjoyed the book and the story conclusion.

This was a great ending to a great series. Sin & Damian are absolutely perfect for each other. The danger was there and sacrifices that both Damian & Sin had to make, only makes them perfect for each other. I really enjoy this series and sad to see it end.

Very good

It was truly amazing, I loved how they developed the story and the characters, especially Damian and Sinea. There was also Carter which I like very much, he's a good guy and I think he and Jamie could have been just a very nice couple.

This book was OK. Sometimes when I was reading it the dialogue reminded me of two teenagers talking to each other. I don’t know if I’m going to read anything else in this series because it just seems a little bit young.

alpha magic, the New York shade book 4

This was the first series I‘ve read by DN Hoxa. It definitely will not be the last. Her characters are well thought out, well flushed out and the stories are intense. If you want a fun ride check out her books.
