I can't believe I'm giving a Peach Girl volume only 2 stars... but UGH!! I really really was not happy with making Sae a victim. She doesn't deserve pity and she definitely doesn't deserve to be saved. She has made her choices and decided to be the person she is. People like her have it coming and need to learn their lesson. This reader, for one, will feel no sympathy for her.

Ugh. I just can't stand it.

Sae the victim, and Sae the schemer, are one and the same in these last two or three volumes. It's kind of like how Kairi has become near-identical to Toji in withholding information from Momo. These character pivots serve the melodrama, but rather than deepening characterization, they make the characters feel inconsistent.

I do like how sexuality is presented in this comic, now and then (ignoring all the rape-y incidents, which is near impossible considering how frequent they are). When Momo finds out that Kairi is still hung up on Misao, she says that she'd be okay with being Kairi's sex buddy, but when confronted with the "sex" part of being a sex buddy, she gets all flustered and reluctant. It highlights her naivete about relationships, but doesn't make her seem foolish.

This volume really pushes the envelope of disbelief. Sae has been posing nude for a lewd magazine and that really irks Momo. Her and Kiley track Sae down to confront her and discover she's part of a pyramid scheme with Ryo. Despite Momo's pleading, Sae throws caution to the wind and declares she's in love with Ryo and will follow where he leads. On Momo's end of the plot though, she's really struggling with where her relationship with Kiley is. They are still planning their trip and Kiley says he'll wait to take the next step with her until she's ready...however, he also asks Misao to take a trip with him and that just breaks Momo's heart. The two reunite to save Sae when they realize she's been contracted to film a porno flick...you know, while still being underaged. Realizing she was duped, Sae can only call Momo to save her from the creepy camera crew. Despite all of that, Sae still claims to love Ryo and will forgive him for well, pimping her out. The volume ends with Momo discovering Kiley kissing Misao who is passed out on his couch.
It's back to this ridiculous perviness and I'm not feeling it. There's no angst and the drama is just silly. Get back to being a fun drama-filled story of high school romance, please.

Myslím kvůli tomu oblečení a pózám.

Trigger warnings for emotional abuse, abuse of a minor, minor involved in sexual acts, sexual assault, attempted rape.

Volume 13 really brings the DRAMA, a la 2000s. I can't believe how caring Momo is to her tormentor when she finds out Sae is doing sex work to pay Kiley's brother, Ryo. There's a scene of Sae being tricked into filming for a porno, so that's...horrible. I'm also happy for Momo to get relief that she wasn't sexually assaulted (but still not right). And of course, Kiley and his love for his ex-tutor Misao ends in a cliffhanger.

Please take caution with reading Peach Girl. Peach Girl deals with a lot of triggering content like sexual abuse and assaults, attempted rape, emotional and mental abuse, attempted suicide, suicidal thoughts, and bullying. The characters are also minors, as they are all still in high school, so a lot of these things are happening to teens. If any of these things cause harm to you, please read with care or pass on this series in general.

Just when I thought that maybe this story was going in a better direction... The absurd unbelievable scenarios packed full of drama continues.
Love triangle with the school nurse is in full swing, characters getting tricked into being in porn videos, pyramid schemes, despicable characters somehow finding redemption by fixing some of the issues they caused by their manipulation tactics, and so much more ridiculousness.
Like, what even is this manga? It's so packed with absurd filler that is just over-the-top drama with no logic or reason. All of the bogus nonsense could've been trimmed out and this series could've been condensed at least by half.

It's like Kairi isn't even trying to move on!!! Couldn't be me, if I were Momo I'd punch him in his balls, and I'd tell Misao the truth of everything. Honestly for someone who went to college and is a school nurse, she comes across as quite stupid. Also, I just wanted to say how happy I am that Momo wasn't actually assaulted by Goro!!! I remembered that it was just a hoax in the anime, but it was so long ago that I figured I must've been mistaken. It's surprising that Sae is actually remorseful, I just hope that she gave Toji the negatives so he can finally rest easy (and I wouldn't be mad if he tried to win Momo back).

Trigger warning for suggested SA

After everything Sae has put Momo through, I struggle to understand why Momo would want to help her. Sure, she’s a better person than Sae, but the sudden flip of the narrative, to change Sae to be the victim, is strange and I don’t think it will last. She’s too sneaky. It was still entertaining though.

Il me reste 5 tomes.

Story: The perfect thing about this series is that it is a potential real life situation. There is bullying from the other people at school and misunderstandings set into a high school setting. This series is absolutely perfect for someone to read when they are that age and to realize that many people can make mistakes or take something the wrong way, especially in regards to relationships. There is a quite potent love triangle between Momo, a girl that gets bullied by others, Kairi (Kiley), a flirt of a guy, and Toji, a guy that is easily blindsided. It does not help anything that there is the slightly evil character of Sae that is always trying to get in Momo's way.

Drawing Style: One of my favorite things about the art style of Miwa UEDA is that she changes up the characters. Especially Momo, she always wears different clothing and has a different style of hair that is rarely seen in anime or manga.

Characters: The characters are highly in depth and developed throughout the series. They are all multi-dimensional with underlying reasons for how they come across and serious back stories that add to the series.

Overall: This is one of my favorite series by far, exceeding all of my previous expectations and blowing me away with the quality of production.

Note: This review was completed after reading volumes 1-18.

Oh, aku paham sekarang.

First this is one of my favorite covers it shows Kairi's soft yet playful side. This voulme was full of traditional Peach Girl drama. I hate that Momo is willing to be a side piece and that Kairi is still sweet but a dog all at the same time.

but i feel sorry for her all the same :/ ryo is both the 'perfect' guy for her (lol) but also the worst lolol

and OF COURSE momo's still a virgin. that's obvious.

A cute story with cute art. It was a bit too teenage-drama-ish for me, but still an amusing read.

sae comes back, but in an unusual way. you would not have seen this ending coming if you hadn't been reading the author commentaries in previous books.
