The premise behind this book is promising, but the execution was very poor. The story is rushed and incredibly confusing. There is hardly any chemistry between the leading couple. Readers are told they are in love, but we do not see it or feel it. The science-fiction elements are not explained in the slightest, leaving the reader floundering for explanations that can’t be found. The time-traveling method is nonsensical, and the converging timelines are so tangled together that it is difficult to tell which characters are from the past/present/future and which time they are currently in. It’s a cute story, but it feels half-baked.

This was okay. It didn't feel like anything super special and the sci-fi elements of the story weren't really described well enough to add any depth.

Not sure what I was expecting from this but it was odd to say the least and felt really copy and paste and very rushed. Aside from the art the story was just kinda meh.

This book was fine, I guess.

The basic premise was a little bit flawed, as it's hard to care about things that the book expressly tells you don't matter. Still, I thought it did some interesting things with the premise, and I liked the characters. There were some cutesy romantic moments that kept me smiling, but everything with the book felt rushed.

This becomes especially apparent in the last hundred or so pages. It felt like so many ideas had to be downsized or crammed together to keep the page count low that it was really hard to understand at times, and for a sci-fi book with a relatively unique gimmick to the world, that made it really run, especially at the end, because it didn't feel like things were properly explained in a way that made all the twists and turns make sense.

I definitely wonder if this would've been better as a series.

This did not make any sense. I feel like nothing was explained well, it jumped from scene to scene, the sci fi elements were touched upon but did not go into depth as to how or why it was created or worked. Just a big "what is going on?" the whole time I was reading this manga. Time travel / alternate universe stories are a hard thing to pull off, and unfortunately this story is one of the ones that was not done correctly, in my opinion. The art work is great but that's about it.

WARNING CONTAINS SPOILERS!!!!!!

Hello world is a scifi romance manga published in 2019. The main character Naomi Katagaki and his love interest Ruri Ichiyou as they try to stop Ruri from dying in a tragic freak accident. We start with Naomi being very indecisive and fawning over a girl who is very clear and distinct, she knows what she wants and she gets it. Later he gets a visit from his future self who explains that this is a recorded world, it's the past being fed into a machine called the alltale. Future Naomi gives past Naomi the ‘god hand’ which can turn anything into something. The original plan was to use the power of the god hand to stop the accident from happening. Future Naiomi requests that in order to do this he must live by this script if he wants to save her life. Past Naomi of course obligées. When we get to the time of the accident, Naomi realizes he's been played and that Naomi only did it for his benefit. He takes Ruris conscious mind and transfers it into future Ruris brain dead body. Naomi, heartbroken that his love was taken from him, spends the next 10 years of his life studying quantum mechanics so he could then travel to the future. Once he is there he talks to other Naomi about Ruri who knew the man who saved her was not future Naomi. She immediately recognizes the real Naomi and they make their grand escape as the alltale malfunctions and system cleaners come after them. A portal is opened with the god hand but for some reason they can't escape unless one of the Naomi's die. Future Naomi, feeling guilty for causing all of this, takes one for the team and delivers a speech like any other dying character. Naomi and Ruri make their escape through the portal. Naomi wakes up in a hospital bed on the moon with Ruri, a now doctor, standing over him all is well in the world.

I think this book was well written, it was definitely interesting enough to where I was reading it in class. The only thing I think is wrong with it is the ending. I'm definitely one that needs a strong ending and if the end isn't good it ruins the whole book for me. I thought it had so many possible alter endings that would have been better than the hospital on the moon. It also could have explained more of the backstory because we really only know what happened at the point in time when the book started, none before then. Could there have been more details in the childhood? I want to know more about the god hand because I'm unsure of its origins.

I felt like the book was rushed and the fight scene at the end was underwhelming for the lead up it gave us. It had a lot of time skips that I didn't feel like helped the plot since the main idea of it is the butterfly effect and time travel. Hello world also wasn't the most fitting title in my opinion, because I don't recall a point where that title is used and or fit the text. Don't get me wrong with all of this criticism. I'm very glad I read this book, it actually was quite good. I'm just nitpicking for the sake of it. My favorite portion was the bridge scene. It felt so real and literally made me sit upright from my lying position. Naomi carried so much emotion that I almost cried. The illustrations in the book made me happy because if a manga isn't drawn well then I won't want to read it. But the artist's style was so interesting. Even though the plot was very similar to orange it still sits in my top 5 mangas.

As someone that doesn’t like Sci-Fi, I really enjoyed this because it didn’t explain the Sci-Fi elements. To me, this book reminds me of the first Digimon movie (which I have vague memories of) mixed with that one movie where the guy is running away for the repo-police (which is just for the scary monsters chasing anomalies).

....that probably won’t make any sense to someone else. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Regardless, this is interesting for the average person that doesn’t know much about science fiction or technology jargon. I like the ending, but the last scene before the very last page makes no sense to me. Is there two or three or do you decide?

For me, I think it is three, but I don’t know how to explain that.... Which makes sense why the author didn’t explain the ending either! °˖✧◝(⁰▿ ⁰)◜ ✧˖°

I'm not much for sci-fi, but I do love a good alternate/virtual reality plot. This however just falls into the okay range.

Though an interesting premise, the characters are pretty flat and simplifies. The love interest hardly gets any characterization past soon to be comatose girlfriend. Our main character definitely gets a bit more development, but only enough to move the plot forward. I also didn't really the older version was in love. Maybe stuck in obsession and grief, but I wasn't sold on the love part.

Again, it's really just okay with the art doing most of the leg work.

It’s okay. It’s a sci-fi romance but honestly it was just okay.
I feel like manga like Erased or Your Name did this better if if those my not technically be sci-fi.
It wasn’t bad but the plot and even the twists were pretty predictable.
And I felt like the characters themselves didn’t get enough attention which made it difficult to care for them in the end because they didn’t get the focus they needed.
All in all, it was an okay read but I wouldn’t pick it up again or recommend it to friends.

This was okay. It felt rushed and there was barely anytime for character development. It also felt like they were trying to do so much that it probably would have been better as a series rather than a one shot.

I feel like there are other manga with the same vibes that do these themes a lot better: Tokyo Revengers, Orange, The Tunnel to Summer, and Your Name. I’d recommend those series.

But the art was nice and it ended on a happy note. It was a fast read so I’m not mad. I did enjoy my time with it but it won’t be staying in my collection.

I thought that this book was kind of interesting and it was a bit hard to understand what was going on in the story. But the pictures and the characters were good, and the story was still good. I thought that if you watch the movie version of this story, it would probably make me cry. ( There is a Japanese movie version of this story. ) I would recommend reading this book if you like some books that include other world warping stories like "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime". Thank you for reading my review. :)

Love the colours on the book cover, and the simple plot is good- but I was confused most of the time. There was alot of terms that werent explained properly and all of a suddent so many things were happening at once when you didnt expect it. Needless to say if someone was looking for a time travel love story with alot of sci fi, I would reccoment this to you.

Overall, enjoyable with an interesting premise to the ability to time travel and change the past. In the later segments, some of the logistics of the time travel impacts on the AI rendering of the past were hard to following. This effected the enjoyability of the sci-fi elements of this love story.

Worlds within worlds within worlds: what is real and what is a memory when both seem to be reality? This manga was super complicated on an unexpected level. Technology has been upgraded to the point where everything is recorded and one can go back and relive memories/the past. But when you change the past memory, it can't really affect the present or the future, right? I can't say I fully understand the complicated nature of this narrative, however, it did make me think. I loved the character building and art style.

This was an okay read, however, it lacked major character depth which made it hard to care about what was happening. I loved the concept it offered, but was left wishing there was more details, more relationship details and moments to make me feel like everything happening was actually worth it.

This was a pretty good manga. The story line is interesting and the characters are pretty decent. Although it was confusing at times and I wish towards the end they had a better falling action but the ending was good

I thought I was following this story reasonably well… until the last third where everything ceased to make any sense. Way too many information gaps to make this enjoyable. The art was very good though.

It was an alright manga if you want something quick to read that does not have a ton of volumes. On the flip side, because it is so short it I feel like there was a lot that is not developed well which makes it a little confusing. All and all, not the best but not the worst.

Per me è un piccolo gioiellino 💖 personaggi adorabili, tratto del disegno pulito e bellissimo, storia interessante (anche se sul finire prende una piega assurda al confine con la supercazzola 😅). Comunque l'ho adorato

My first Manga. I really enjoyed it. I've always avoided comics thinking they were supposed to just be funny I guess? But this felt like something between a book and a TV show. Once I finally got used to reading left to right, I really enjoyed this cute story.
