Opposites attract!! This sum up quite well this book.
Steele is a hockey player for the Seattle Sockeyes, he also is the last Puck Brother to not have a significant other.
He is happy to be single and to finally have his apartment all to himself so when he comes back home and he finds out he has to share it with the chaotic Hyacinth, her dog Herc and the party animal Ziggy he goes nuclear. He tries to make them leave but soon he understands he is stuck with them and little by little he gets used to them.
Hyacinth is an activist, she has a lot of pojects to save the natural environment. When living with her mother becomes too hard she happily accept to sublet Kaden's apartment even if shehas to share it with the strictest man she knows.
They come from worlds apart, Steele is the son of two rules enforcers while Cin's mother is a rule breaker, she is an activist extremist. Steele likes a black and white world while Cin brings with her all the shades of the rainbow. They are so different but there is an inexplicable attraction between them. Will they abandon themselves to the istincts? Or will the logic prevail?
I've enjoyed Icing so much, I was caught in Steele and Hyacinth's whirlwind relationship since the beginning and I couldn't put the book down. I adored their bantering even if like Steele it would be difficult for me to adapt to Cin's lifestyle.
I really hope Jami Davenport will give us Ziggy's story soon.

I don’t know how else to explain this book other than I feel like someone opened it, flipped to the middle, and told me “start here.” I felt like I had no idea what was happening or how exactly we got here. It was so rushed, fast paced, and we were flying through scenes with very little detail.
I felt no connection between the two characters. They hate each other, but can’t stop thinking about having sex with one another. Next thing I know they’re in a relationship and just WHAT? HOW? I’m sooooo confused.
Also Cin constantly disrespects Steeles house. How he didn’t blow up on her is beyond me.

Icing was the fourth book in the Seattle Sockeyes Puck Brothers series by Jami Davenport. The series was best read in order.
Steele Bailey was the serious, rules oriented, neat freak puck brother. He was disciplined and he respected routine and order. It was how he lived his life and became a success at an early age. He was also a planner and his plan involved a total focus on hockey with no serious relationships until he was thirty. He was focused and following his plan, then he met Cin, who brought clutter and disorganization to his neat and orderly life.
Hyacinth “Cin” Meadows was a free spirit. She was the daughter to an extreme activist, and was taught to protest at a very young age. She was serious about her causes and wasn’t afraid to stand for what she believed. Cin was also creative, which looked a lot like disorganization to the naked eye. She brought chaos and fun with her as a constant companion. And speaking of companions, Hercules, aka Herc, was her snorting, drooling, fat bulldog that brought humor to ever situation.
The book began with Cin, Herc and Steele unexpectedly becoming roommates. Opposites attracted, sparks flew and bantering abounded. The lines between love and hate were thin and Steele and Cin were no exception. The story unfolded and I enjoyed both characters but there were also aspects of each I wasn’t too fond. Additionally, I liked the premise of the story, but I’m more of a respectful, talk things through, mutually beneficial kinda girl, so some aspects of the storyline weren’t as appealing. Otherwise, as a whole, it was written and developed well with depth and dimension.
Lastly, Davenport threw in a rookie roommate, Ziggy, as the third party in the apartment. He had quite a bit of baggage and there was definitely more than met the eye with this playboy, fun loving life of the party. His story will develop fully in the next book, Faceoff, and I can’t wait!

Another good addition to the Scoring series. This time it is Steele and Hyacinth (Cin) and I was invested in the story that Jami Davenport wove from the first to the last chapter.
There’s a fine line between love and hate; Steele and Cin are total opposites and push each others buttons and yet there is a definite attraction that is sizzling under the surface. Returning home Steele is shocked to learn that not only Cin and her dog, as well as Ziggy another teammate have moved in.
Steele has his life mapped out and the last thing he wants or needs is to be attracted to the quirky and often unconventional Cin. I really liked both Steele and Cin and it was entertaining to watch their relationship develop.

Isn’t it funny how opposites attract? Or how there is a thin line between love and hate? This is the kind of relationship Steele and Hyacinth (Cin) have. Poor Steele is shocked when he gets home from visiting his mother that Cin and her dog are living in his condo. I loved watching how the two got on each other’s nerves. It is so funny how uptight Steele is and Cin is easy going and into causes. The crazy part is they both have serious chemistry. Poor Steele was so uptight that he had a plan for his life and he was upset as the plan was off track. Cin’s upbringing was by a radical mother that cared more about causes than her daughter. I did not like her mother at all. I enjoyed watching Cin and Steele start to know each other. I loved the book and strongly encourage you to read it. I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review.

Love to hate or hate to love? In all honesty, I personally dislike everything about Cin. Her tattoos, attitude, and the way she goes about life just turns me off. Steele loves to hate his unwelcome roommate, Cin, but can he hold to his convictions and keep it that way? They are complete opposites in all ways but one...they wanted each other. Will he soon hate to love het? Icing is a well written book. You can easily enjoy it without having read the previous books in the series, but I highly recommend them. I am super excited to discover the third roommate, Ziggy’s, secrets in an upcoming book.

I love my visits to Seattle especially when I’m catching up with a Sockeyes hockey player and this is Steele and Hyacinth (Cin’s) romance.
Steele and Cin are not only opposites, they also know how to push each other’s buttons but that doesn’t mean they aren’t attracted to each other. Steele’s old roommate has sublet his room to Cin and her dog and the first Steele hears off it is when he arrives home from a trip and it’s not just Cin he has to deal with, the team have decided the newest rookie needs a role model and that means Ziggy has also moved in..... Steele is used to calm and order and what he is has now is clutter and noise.....
There is a fine line between love and hate so will this couple drive each other crazy or will their feelings and love win the day........
This book ticked all my boxes, I laughed at the banter, I swooned at the sizzling chemistry and I fell hook, line and sinker for this couple and Ziggy. Icing will appeal to a wide range of audiences and I highly recommend you one click this gem of a read.

There's a thin line between love and hate. Steele and Hyacinth use every inch of it. Davenport pushes buttons, seduces emotions and breaks hearts. I loved every minute of it. Sexy, sassy and frustrating. Icing is an uphill battle that is worth the steep climb.

I’m loving this series! Steele and Cin’s story was fantastic! There’s a thin line between love and hate and the two of them cross that line over and over. They’re complete opposites. Will they be able to work their differences out and be happy together? This story has a fantastic storyline and amazing characters! I love the banter between the players when the bachelors find their woman. It was very entertaining! I loved Icing and look forward to Jami’s next book!

I loved this story of opposites that are attracted to each other. The sassy smart alec response from Cin had me laughing out loud. Steele fights his attraction with everything he has.

Again Jami killed it. Puck brothers no more. I was excited to see how Steeles book played out. I sure hope there are more books to follow. I love the way Jami writes. Her characters come to life on the pages. Each book the hero and heroine have there own issues and how they solve them and come together make you fall in love with them.
Steele wow what a tight ass in all things, money, time, routines, cleanliness,etc... it takes a strong person to fall for someone like him. But boy is he a looker.
Cin is a mess. No direction in life other than her causes in life and her bartending job and odds and ends of making money.
But their story is a page turner. One you won’t want to put down.

Icing is the fourth book in Jami Davenport's Scoring series and it was an enjoyable addition.
Hyacinth, Cin to her friends, needed a new place to call home and since her best friend's boyfriend just moved in with her, that left his old room vacant. Cin took advantage of the vacancy and moved in with Steele, who is a hockey player and one of his other teammates, Ziggy. She's a bartender who also is involved as an activist and she's at the point in her life where she's starting to wonder where her future is headed.
Steele plays hockey for the Seattle Sockeyes and he's known for being a rule follower, liking things just so and he's not big on relationships. When he returns from a road trip to find out that Cin has moved in, along with his teammate, he's less than thrilled. His first thought is to figure out a way to get both of them out of his hair, but is that really the right move?
Cin and Steele have one of those relationships where they know just how to annoy the other. They push one another's buttons and while they proclaim to dislike one another, it's pretty clear that it's just their version of foreplay. Will these two end up being exactly what the other needs or will they end up driving each other away?
Icing introduced us to some new teammates of Steele's and I'm interested to see what happens with Ziggy especially. In the meantime, if you haven't read this series, it's one I'd suggest picking up.

Fun & romantic sports romance!
This one was so much fun!! Mr Straight-up-and-down-dependable got his feathers ruffled and, oh holy crap, it was as funny as a fight! It’s the fourth book in Jami Davenport’s Puck Brothers Novels, and even though each of these are stand-a-lones, they have interconnecting characters, with cameos from our heroes of hockey novels past. In the previous book, Playmaker, Author Jami Davenport had whetted my appetite even further for Steele! I’d laughed at his contribution to Kaden’s book, so much so, that I felt he almost stole the show! He’d met his match; and I’d been looking forward to see Hyacinth light a fire under his love and romance denying backside.
Ms Davenport provided plenty of sports and romance action in spades!!! The poor guy was a neat freak and loved his ordered life! Hyacinth and her slobbery bulldog were his total opposite! Add a hapless Ziggy to the mix and it was a fun and addictive read that I couldn’t put down!
I am already all kinds of invested in the next instalment of this Puck Brothers / The Scoring Series because Ziggy was quite a major secondary character in this book and Ms Davenport has set him up beautifully. It is important to remember that these are all stand-a-lones, so while I highly recommend to everyone who loves Hockey reads that they read the earlier books, there is no need to.
Meanwhile, 4.5 Stars for another superb read from one of my original sports authors whose books I will always, always read!!! 💙

Steele is in his second year with the Seattle Sockeyes. He is very much a rule follower and never causes any trouble. He has a life plan and it doesn't include any relationships until he's 30. He comes home from a road trip and finds his roommate has moved out but transferred his lease to Hyacinth, "Cin" and his orderly life and condo is now upended and a total mess and it comes with a dog and another teammate!
Cin is very much a free spirit. She loves the fancy condo and being able to share the lease is a great option for her. It's close to her bartending job so what's not to love. Jami Davenport hits it in the net with ICING (Scoring #4). In this story, Seattle Sockeyes defenseman, Steele Bailey, comes home to discover that his roommate that recently moved out sublet his place to his nemesis, Hyacinth (Cin) Meadows. To make matters worse his other former roommate leased his place to their slob teammate Ziggy. Steele likes rules and order, something Cin and Ziggy do not. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult readers.
ICING is a classic opposite attracts story. Cin and Steele are complete opposites, but there is no denying their chemistry. They face some interesting obstacles, including conflicting values. Add in coach wanting Ziggy to live with Steele in hopes of his good behavior rubbing off on Ziggy’s partying ways. The story never had a dull moment.
Jami Davenport does a nice job with the last puck brother to fall story. Kaden’s Puck Brother Punishment was entertaining. I am looking forward to Ziggy’s novel. He had a lot happening in this book, and I am interested in seeing how his story plays out. ICING was skillfully written and entertaining. Followers of the Seattle Sockeyes Hockey and Scoring series will appreciate this book. I recommend it to people who enjoy sports romances. I do think you could follow ICING as a stand-alone, but I do recommend reading the other books in the Scoring series first. Furthermore, if you have not read the Seattle Sockeyes Hockey series, characters from that series are in this book. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

If you are looking for a book where opposites attract then look no further then Icing by Jami Davenport.
Hyacinth “Cin” Meadows is a definitely a free spirit, she is passionate when it comes to her causes, is a bartender and a woman who knows what she wants but when her new roommate is the exact opposite of herself she never knew she can feel such an attraction to someone like him.
Steele Bailey a Hockey Player with the Seattle Sockeyes is a rule follower when it comes to all things in his life, the son of a police officer and a government worker he doesn’t steer off his plans and goals with his life but when Cin is thrown into the mix he never saw her coming.
Watching two people at such different ends of the spectrum come together is fun. Her free spirit ways and his rigid ways will collide at times, but the chemistry between the two is off the charts and you can’t help wonder how this is all going to play out.

Icing,, the latest Puck Brothers story from Author Jami Davenport is a fantastic, low-angst high emotion story of Opposites Attract. If you are an avid reader of Ms. Davenport’s, you have met both of these characters in previous books. Cin is a free living individual focused on helping her causes and living her life day to day. Steele is a by the books, no gray areas hockey player with a set life plan. On paper, they couldn't work, but who can argue with chemistry and fate! I loved this story because it made me believe that if two people are willing to put the effort into the relationship, you can make just about anything work out. After a quick, hot start as forced roommates, I liked that Steele put the emotional relationship in front of the physical one ,which you don’t often find in this genre. As with any good story,,you need a little drama and the author delivers on this with a wonderful storyline. We get to see former friends throughout the story and I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for Ziggy!

There is a standard sometimes where 2 can be complete opposites in their beliefs and ways but when they are together there are incredible sparks that fly not only between them, but also around the room they are in.
Steele is a hard ass, by the book, life is already planned out, everything must be in a specific place, no exceptions at all guy who is playing in his second season with the Seattle Sockeyes. So he is living up to his name in more ways than one. He should be doing great this year with the team but he is failing at it, almost like the second year curse that happens to many. Could it be because he is so set in his ways, he is not thinking outside the box? That maybe a little bit of relaxing the rules and having some fun might just lead him in a better way both on and off the ice.
Hyacinth aka Cin, is a free spirited, go with the flow, chill out, but fight for good activist, who just doesn’t think outside the box, she is not he other side of town! So when Cin moves into the condo, she is not quite prepared for what happens there at all. She is an activist by day and a bartender at night. Both things have issues, especially since her mother who started the activist group with her is going a little crazy about a part of the Seattle downtown area. This is starting to make her question if she is on the right path or not.
This is the 4th of the Scoring Series by Jami Davenport. It brings in some old faces that you recognize, as well as some new faces that you cannot wait to see what will happen to them in future books. Plus it is nice seeing characters who are not rich or have high paying jobs, but regular jobs and struggling sometimes to make ends meet. I will admit there was a few spots that did sort of drag a little bit, BUT it was still an awesome book to read! A definite one to add to your shelf.

Man, I love a hot, alpha, grumpy hockey player and that was Steele. Icing is the fourth book in the Scoring series by Jami Davenport. The series follows the teammates of the Seattle Sockeyes and they call themselves the Puck Brothers. Each guy vowing to remain free and single. Being an attractive professional hockey player, who wouldn’t want to play the field? However, all the puck brothers have fallen in love with a strong female who balances them out.
In this story, we meet Hyacinth, aka Cin, who is a vegetarian activist with a lazy bulldog and will not put up with his grumpiness. The two end up living together with another Sockeye, Ziggy (who I loved and I really hope his story is next!) and their squabbling is definitely a cover up for how much they are attracted to each other.
This a frenemies to lovers and opposites attracted book and I enjoyed it. Steele is clean cut and follows the rules. Cin is an outspoken, tattooed, bartender activist who is out to make the world a better place. I want to be Cin when I grow up. I loved the sexual tension and chemistry between them. When they finally get together, turn up the air because it’s hot.
Jami Davenport leaves it open for more books in the series. I’m looking forward to reading them. I was given an ARC from the author for honest review.

Steele's world is knocked off it's axis when he opens his apartment door and finds a new roommate waiting for him... a person that he fully detests, but is secretly attracted to. Seeing Cin in his apartment irritates him to no end, but it also rattles something else inside of him, the bone deep attraction he has to her. This arrangement is never going to work, there is no way that they can live together, she pushes his buttons every chance she gets and is his total opposite. It's a disaster just waiting to happen... or is it the perfect arrangement?

These two are about as different as two people can be, but amongst all those differences is something pretty magical that draws them to one another despite their distaste for one another. These two were like oil and water, they just didn't mix, and their new arrangement proved that time and time again... but it also proved that there were a lot of sparks arcing between them too. They pushed each other's buttons, went out of their way to drive each other crazy, and were pure magic on the page. Cin and Steele – chemistry that is white hot!
If you love sports romance, especially the hockey genre, Jami Davenport is one of the best and that is most definitely the case with Icing, the fourth book in "The Scoring Series".
The storyline centers around Steele Bailey, a second-year player for the Seattle Sockeyes who is the ultimate ruler-follower, and Hyacinth ‘Cin’ Meadows, who simply throws the rulebook out the window at every opportunity. When it comes to opposites, these two are all that but the connection between them is simply intense with amazing twists and turn that is emotionally charged all the way. And their chemistry - is simply white hot!
All the characters are excellent – rich, complex, and multilayered, who are there for each other through everything! This an absolute must-read book, in a must-read series. I can’t wait for the next one!

By the book player vs. an activist!
I will read anything Jami Davenport writes but I love it when an author takes hockey player Steele Bailey who does everything by the book and brings in bartender Hyacinth (Cin) Meadows. Cin is following in the footsteps of her mother by being an activist wanting to change things, but meeting Steel has made her start to rethink her future.
The epilogue made me laugh so hard because I can just picture that happening when guys get even but you need to read the book to find out more.
Icing is the fourth book in The Scoring Series (AKA Puck Brothers) about the rookie players for the Seattle Sockeyes hockey team but all the books about the team are worth reading.
P.S. I want to know more about Steel’s mother!

I was pulled right into this story. The story has pain, secrets, and heartbreak.

This is Hyacinth and Steele’s story. She is all about protests and saving the world. He is all about hockey. But when he comes back to his apartment and finds out he has a new roommate he is in shock. It’s the one person that pushes all his buttons and he just knows it is going to get really bad. She is happy to get the apartment as it’s close to work. When she finds out who her roommate is, she is not happy either. But what starts out as hate soon turns to more. Can these two find common ground? If they do what happen when one develops feelings? Will they have a future or was one just playing around?
I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I recommend this book.

This book is kinda the opposite of bad guy/good girl. We have the unconventional girl with the regimented guy. And it is just a personal opinion but that is not really my jam. But I am glad that I kept reading and powered through! I loved that there was instant attraction but they really had to examine themselves and each other to find love and how to make it work.
This book is not the first in a series but it can be read as a complete stand alone, you will just more out of the secondary characters. I love the hints we get at who the next book might be about!

This is book 4 in the Seattle Sockeyes Puck Brothers/The Scoring Series. This series gets better with every book! The banter between the guys gets funnier and I just Love this series. Steele’s story was pretty much what I wanted It to be....although I would Love more information on his mother! I knew Cin being his exact opposite was exactly what he needed. He definitely needed a yin to his yang. At the same time I like How he helped her find her way also. They are good for each other. This series has been very enjoyable. Watching each player mature in their own way has been fun to read.

Talk about opposites attract in this book Cin and Steele couldn’t be anymore opposite of they tried. Once again once you start this book Jami makes sure you keep turning the pages to see what happens next. Steele is a neat freak and Cin and his other flatmates don’t tend to be as tidy as what he is. Too make matters worse Cin has a British bulldog that slobbers everywhere.
Cin is an activist like her mother and likes to keep up on things. When she’s not doing activist duties she’s doing her job as a barmaid which she badly needs to help pay the rent at their shared apartment. It’s quite entertaining watching as they push each other’s buttons which doesn’t always work as it seems to draw them closer together. When their worlds collide will they be able to find a solution.

It stars two characters that are super attracted but kinda hate each other and are very much opposites and are new roommates.
Steele is the controlled, neat freak and good guy who plays professional hockey on the Seattle Sockeyes team. Cin is his total opposite. She is the bartender with piercings and tattoos and who is a slob. They end up as roomies when their friends end up living together.
At first I did not love this story mostly because I did not like Cin at all. I felt she was a much more rough character than I like. She is very casual about sex and not so picky about her partners. I felt she should treat herself better. But as I got to know her, I fell in love with her too. She is a badass with a mother from a nightmare.
As time went by and I watched her with friends and Steele I started tio really like her. Steele was a jerk at times but I really liked him and I loved how he treated Cin. These two made a really fun, hot and sexy story.

This is the 4th book in this amazing series and is Steele and Hyacinth / Cin’s journey. These two could not be more opposite if they tried. Steele likes everything in black a white, while Cin’s all about colour. When Steele who is a hockey player comes back from a visit to his mom to find out that his roommate has moved out and transferred his lease to his new roommate who is his nemesis Cin and her dog. Cin is a bartender, free spirit, and an activist, who has a mother that is more interested in her causes than her daughter. Steele and Cin have an undeniable attraction between them, and they certainly know how to push each other’s buttons, as well as having a love / hate relationship. This is a beautifully written flawless story which is entertaining, humorous, and with witty banter, which all had me totally captivated throughout this riveting and addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend for all readers.

Steele and Cin are like battering rams. They push each others buttons and not always in a good one. Their attraction to each other is evident to everyone around them. However, they are so different. Steele has plans and is a rule follower and Cin is the total opposite. When they finally give in to that attraction will their differences be too much to truly make the relationship work?
We get more of a glimpse at Ziggy and his story is going to be something else
