TRAPPED

Rate this book
In this time of social revolt, in this society that increasingly reveals its true face of injustice and daily survival, Jordan Tate plunges us into hell, "the trap" into which two retirees fell in 2014, and delivers a thriller coupled with a social drama inspired by true events. The story of an ordinary retired couple who move into a quiet looking residence (Bois Fleury in Marseilles) unaware that the said building is run by the local mafia. Very quickly, the couple fall victim to the real estate agency (Polypus) that manages their apartment, and to their millionaire landlord hiding in the guise of an illiterate peasant, owner of 7 other apartments in the tower and who start to ransom them, gradually transforming their life into a painful daily nightmare. Conflicts of interest, crooked lawyers, henchmen coming to intimidate them nothing will be spared to the tenants, until the illness triggered by the harassment of the property administrators infiltrated in politics and at the Court of Appeal of Aix en Provence. The story is told from the point of view of the victim, a 70-year-old retiree fighting nearly alone against everyone, in a city corrupted to the bone and in a building where no one is what they seem to be. "The Trap" could be a thriller, a mixture of corruption of justice, family betrayals and descent into hell, but it is above all an uncompromising, painful tale of life from which you will not emerge unscathed. Scary and tragic.
