A.M. Williams’ Vetted is a sexy, second-chance contemporary romance written in K. Bromberg’s Everyday Heroes World.
All Britain Campbell has ever wanted was to work with animals and serve her country. For the last eight years, she’s given her all to her country, pushing memories of her last relationship from her mind. After her dad is diagnosed with cancer, she drops everything and puts her career on hold to help her parents in their time of need.
She never expected that she’d come home and find a blast from her past living across the street.
August Black, now a well-loved high school teacher, gave up on relationships when the one left him. When she reappears in his life, he never thought they’d rekindle their relationship like no time had passed. But he’s still plagued by the demons that haunted him the first time they fell in love.
Are they able to overcome outside stressors and inner demons to give their love a chance?
A.M. Williams is just a simple girl from the south that found herself living abroad. When she’s not annoying her cat or reading, she’s spending time with her husband and traveling as much as possible. She has a serious case of wanderlust and wants to go as many places as possible while she can. She loves Cheerwine, sweet tea, and North Carolina (eastern style) BBQ as well as those crystal clear waters on the North Carolina coast.
Very moving I found the story very moving in describing the exit from the army of Britain, a young veterinarian, because her father is sick, but she only wants one thing to return in army. She must deal with both her military vocation, her family and the second chance she has when she reunites with her ex-boyfriend, August. As much as I had a lot of empathy for August, the character of Britain infuriated me. What she criticized August for before their separation was for not accepting that she wanted to go to the military and for ignoring her feelings. But I got the impression that this is what she was doing to August throughout the story. This is probably not what the author wanted to put forward, but that is how I felt. The story is very well written, really touching, hot, but while Britain's reasons are honorable, they remain difficult for others to accept, with very little hindsight of her actions on the feelings of others, for a good part of the story. Second chances at love don't always come along but when they do if you don't learn from the past how can you move forward, and for Britain and August they really need to remember why things fell apart before. I loved how dedicated Britain was not just to her job but also the family and how August really wants to try but lordly he needs to listen to his brother more but he isn't the only one who frustrates me with thinking a little bit too much about themselves. If you love small town gossip, characters you will fall in love with, some ups and downs (a tissue or two may be required) as well as a story about two people who are meant to be together but have a rocky road ahead of them then this is the book for you ... oh and yeah cute animals too!!

Great second chance military romance between college lovers. Britain dedicated her life to two things - being a vet and serving her country. When her father got sick, her military life took a back seat to helping him recover. Upon her return to her hometown, she is face to face with August, the man that still held her heart even after he broke it all those years ago. After reconnecting, things move smoothly until Britain is deployed. History repeats itself and Britain ends up with another broken heart. The ending is great, especially how they find their way back to each other. This book sheds light on how family members of active and deployed military battle the unknown and deal with the stress of the situation. I highly recommend it!
Vetted by A.M. Williams is part of the multi-author Everyday Heroes World series. I have read several books by this author and a couple in this series so I was looking forward to seeing what this book would be like. I did enjoy this second chance at love story about August and Britain. Add in the fact that she is in the military, so a bit of a twist as he is a high school teacher. I enjoyed this well written book which wove an interesting story-line with very likeable characters, including the supporting characters who helped to move the story along at times.
I received a copy of this box set and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Britain is a military veterinarian who comes home to help her parents when her dad is diagnosed with cancer. Her college love, August, who dumped her when she went into the military, now lives across the street from the parents. The romance rekindles but gets put on hold again when she is reactivated. The characters are terrific, with intense feelings and emotions, backstories and family connections that turn them into your friends next door. The romance has its major ups and downs, but their love prevails. Loved that the parents were so close with August and now they all live across from one another. The twists worked perfectly and I loved the ending with the corgi.

This steamy, emotional second chance romance has an interesting story - a story that feels so real that it could be happening somewhere in the world today. Britain and August are likeable, three dimensional characters who meet again after ten years apart and realize the feelings they had for each other in the past are just as strong as ever, maybe more so; but August's disapproval of her intention to continue her military career is just as much a stumbling block as ever and might be insurmountable.
I was a little disappointed in the way that August repeatedly let Britain down but I guess that just makes him all too human! The story is well-written and has a nice HEA. I enjoyed it.

Britain and August were college sweethearts. She's a veterinarian in the military, headed back to her hometown when her dad is sick. She finds that August is friend and neighbor to her parents, and a high school teacher. There's obvious chemistry between them, but some obstacles to overcome. He has to work to move beyond how he felt when she left for the military. I enjoyed seeing them work through their issues. Usually, we read about a man in the military, but it was nice to see this woman's perspective. I enjoyed the book, and feel like it's a great addition to this heroes world.

This addition to the Everyday Heroes series intrigued me from the blurb and once I started it turned out to be a pretty good read. I will say it is different from the others in the series, but in a good way. Britain and August have so many unresolved issues in their lives and with one another, but will they overcome them for their happiness? There is a lot of depth to the storyline that is filled with drama and heat. Everything fits and while one may get annoyed with these characters behaviors, it’s all par for the course and needed for the story. I enjoyed this overall and will be recommending to others.
I really really tried. But I couldn't finish. I've read several books in the Everyday Heros world and this one just didn't feel like it fit. The small town gossip was just on steriods, nothing like it was in the other books i read. It needed another round of editing or something. I got a quarter of the way in and it just felt like nothing was even happening. I skimmed a little, and just couldn't get into it. I didn't care about either of the main characters enough to even skim the rest. I feel bad not finishing, but I just didn't see the point in wasting any more time.
This is a good addition to this series. This is Britain and August’s story. Britain has served her country for the last 8-years, and when his father is ill, she puts her career on hold to go home and support her parents. August is a high school teacher, who now lives across the road from Britain’s parents, and they were in a relationship years ago. This is a steamy 2nd chance love story. The only downside in my opinion only, is that I struggled to engage with the characters, however, I look forward to reading more from this author.
Britain Campbell was living the life she had always wanted. But when her father needed her, she came home to help. She hadn’t thought to find August Black in close proximity.
August Black had remained in love with Britain while she was gone. He knew there was no one else for him, and he gave up on any other possible relationship when she left. Now that she is back, will he try to renew what they had together? Despite so many demons and unresolved issues in their lives and relationship, will they fight to regain what they had lost?
*****5 Loved it Stars***** I’ve said this plenty of times this series is the best and has introduced me to some great authors. Britain and August have some history together; but it completely new to the town. August has always felt that him and Britain where never done but Britain’s decisions to join the military threw wrench in their relationship. Eight years later and Britain runs into August in the least place she would think she would see him; in her hometown. Can these two make it? *****ARC from Book Sprout for review*****
This is a wonderful story, Britain and August are wonderful characters. They are caring and have pasts experiences that have shaped them to were they are now. This is a second chance for Britain and August, but will they be able to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity. It shed a light on our military and what they and their families go through. This is just a great story. It was emotional and heart warming.

Vetted: An Everyday Heroes World Novel by A.M. Williams. After reading the blurb, I was expecting a good story. After reading the story I have to say it was more than good and better than I was expecting. Full throttle into drama, passion, and second chances. I liked the character mix- I felt each one had great attributes (strong and feisty) and chemistry was off the charts. I enjoyed this journey and would recommend this book to others.
A.M. Williams’ Vetted is a sexy, second-chance contemporary romance written in K. Bromberg’s Everyday Heroes World. A well written story that held my interest until the end. Britain Campbell was in the military, but she is now back in her home town. She finds high school teacher August Black living across from her parents home. This was a very good book and story, it is a second chance at romance. Britain has to leave the Army to help her parents because her dad is sick. She never imagines that she will see August again after ten years in her hometown. He has been in town for years and actually becomes friends with her parents. He is just as shocked to see her again.

This was an ok story. This is a second chance romance. Britain and August were getting pretty serious in college but when she decided to join the military they broke up. Ten years later Britain has taken a leave and returns home to help take care of her parents and runs into August. It's a little too slow for my taste. It was a bit of a struggle to see how these two can have a connection when they have opposite opinions on Britain's career. I received an ARC and volunteered to leave a review.
This is a story that had me from the start. I loved August and Britain, the history between them, and this second chance that they have. The story is sweet, fun, heart twisting, and real. It gives you the two sides of a military career and the emotions that go along with that. Great from start to finish.

This is a second chance romance, which I love, that had some drama and issues the characters needed to work out. I liked their chemistry and how it seemed to never fizzle, even when they were apart. Britain and August had lots of issues to work through though and that kept me on edge. I wanted to hit them both at multiple points.
The first book by this author that I read. The plot was engaging thanks to the two POVs, and original since we usually talk about military life through male characters and the fact instead of having been able to observe this life through the eyes of a woman is very interesting. A great book by AM Williams that will draw you in from the beginning and keep you turning the pages to see what happens next in the journey of Britain & August. Will August be able to finally overcome his hang ups of Britain being in the military?

A story filled with heartbreak and love. It was a wonderfully written story with a second chance at love theme. I loved how my emotions were engaged by the characters and their drama. I hated that she was put in that position of emotional loss again. But it was a very enjoyable story.

The cover image is nice to look at but Vetted “An Everyday Heroes World” was a women not a man. I was a good book but made me upset how their relationship played out. I’m always happy to see a happy ending but August made me upset at a lot of parts. Keep up the good work.
Can’t say enough about this book!!!! I just adored August and Britain’s story! Wonderful characters and an awesome storyline with all the emotions that are so relatable to me as a veteran and a veterinary student!!! One of my favorite books so far this year. Highly recommend!
Tightly well-woven plot. Excellent well-developed, characters in August and Britain. A full range of emotions that impale veterans and from pursuing relationships with the average citizen, in this case, a veterinary student.
Interesting new perspective of this storyline, where it is the woman working in the military and getting deployed and how it effects those left behind and their relationship.
