Escape With Me

Rate this book
From New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Kristen Proby comes ESCAPE WITH ME, an all-new stand-alone novel in her beloved WITH ME IN SEATTLE SERIES!

Keegan O’Callaghan has been told he’s married to his pub. It’s true. He’s happiest when he’s pulling taps and filling drink orders, so long as he can keep an eye on his family and ensure that all is well. Bringing a woman into his life for anything but a pleasant, short-term romp isn’t even on his radar.

Until she comes running through his door, soaking wet and in a princess gown.

Isabella Harris ran out on her wedding, and she’s not even a little bit sorry. She may have loved her groom a long time ago, but standing there about to take her vows, she realizes it’s not right. And that’s all she needs to know. Four hours later, she finds herself on a tiny island outside of Seattle, walking into a random Irish Pub and locking eyes with the sexiest bartender she’s ever seen. But now what? She’s alone and broke, with only a wedding dress to her name.

Despite the undeniable attraction between them, Keegan can see that Izzy’s scared and alone. The job offer he extends is only until she gets back on her feet—he has no intention of keeping her.

But sometimes Fate has other plans…

Oh sweet lord, who can resist this panty meltingly sexy irishman?! No one, that’s who! The story setting, the runaway bride concept, the complex but oh so human and lovable characters, coupled with the most tingling of chemistry, gave us in Escape With Me, truly the most perfect of escapisms. Sweet, sexy and heart warming, Keegan and Izzy’s love story is what this romantic reader’s dreams are made of!!!

With this banging start of Isabella running away from her wedding, I was instantly hooked, and the way she just lands in Keegan’s bar, wow, I’m all for the serendipity trope, so I was psyched on how all turned out, the fast paced development, and the swooning moments, I love, no, ADORED how both were so confident and open to their undeniable connection and their growing feelings.

Honestly, as long as he calls me lass, I’ll do whatever he wants.

The narration, specially Lauren Sweet’s embodiment of Keegan’s narrative with his sexy Irish accent, omg, sooooo good! Proof number 23543435 that a woman narrator can make the opposite sex shine as brightly as the opposite gender does, lol. Loved her Keegan was brilliantly swoon worthy. Okay, truth be told Keegan IS a swoonfest in every way possible.

That is what always stands out the most for me in Kristen Proby’s tales, just how real, how relatable, but still so passionate her protagonists are. Keegan and Izzy were all that and then some. The perfect match, these two and their deceivingly effortless love just made my heart soar 3 <3 <3 <3

When he touches me, it’s as if he worships me. And it almost gives me a high. Every woman should be treated this way.

I love you, and I know that love won’t ever go away. I want you with me always.

4.5 The Feel Of Home Stars

It doesn't matter how long it may be, whenever I pick up one of Kristen Proby's With Me Books, I am home. I am immediately comforted by the way Proby knows how to present family, concern, humor, frustration, and love. It is a gift and in Escape With Me...That is exactly what you are able to do...and during these stressful times, it was a sweet read.

There is a runaway bride who needs to find herself, the sexy bartender/owner of the perfect Irish pub, and the awe-inspiring Irish clan of The O'Callaghans plus all of the Mongomerys from the With Me Series.

It wasn't a complicated tale, it was two people who were perfect for each other and met at the right time. Enjoy.

Favorite Quotes:

… you don’t deserve to be the back-burner girl…You’re a front and center, rolling boil kind of girl.

Women. I can’t go a day without her, yet sometimes, I want to tumble her right into the sea.

“I can totally keep a secret,” she says, but I know better. “If you tell anyone, you won’t be my favorite anymore.” The smile leaves her face. “Well, that’s just mean.”

My Review:

This was a fun and engaging read while pleasantly low on conflict or angst. I enjoyed the delightful respite! The characters were endearing and hard-working and the storylines were relatable, easy to follow and detailed with amusing descriptions and scenarios. I have enjoyed the books in the series I’ve been lucky enough to obtain, although I am a fairly recent convert to Ms. Proby’s coven, I have a lot of catching up to do!

I’m never quite prepared for how swept away I am when I’m back in the Seattle Universe. The O’Callaghans are the perfect “branch off” of the With Me in Seattle tree. These Irish siblings are all such quirky and interesting characters. I’ve looked forward to each book in this series, but dare I say Keegan O’Callaghan may have just put himself in the lead as my favorite hero so far in the series! I can’t believe I’m saying that but it’s true.

Izzy literally barges through the door at Keegan’s pub soaking wet and wearing a wedding dress! Is there a better meet cute out there?! If there is I’ve never read it. Their attraction is instant, but neither seems ready to see where it will take them. They have the most natural chemistry and balance as a couple! I adored them!

The O’Callaghans are the sweetest family ever and this story really showcased how special they are. I fell in love with all of them all over again. Keegan is such a gentleman and it just took the perfect girl to bring him out of his shell. Have I mentioned I love Keegan?

This book had it all! Cameos from my favorite WMIS characters, beautiful character development, scenes created with such detail I felt like I was in the same places, and a brilliant love story. It had humor, a girls night, drunken shenanigans, and super sexy times!

I really don't remember the last time I enjoyed a series this much.
Every story is special.
I love Izzy; she is so strong, and Keegan is her perfect match.
I also love the found family trope; it's one of my faves.

What you can expect:
♡ small town
♡ age gap (7 years)
♡ runaway bride
♡ friends to lovers
♡ workplace romance
♡ found family

Oh my, I am swooning so hard right now over Keegan and Izzy!! I absolutely 100% am in love with their story.

I've been so curious about Keegan since we first met him and what kind of woman it would take to knock him on his ass, apparently a runaway bride. Keegan's world revolves around his bar and his family until the most unexpected person steps foot in his bar. Izzy's world was turned upside down after fleeing her own wedding but she was determined to do things her way and man, did she ever when she stumbled upon O'Callaghan's.

"It should be illegal. Or at least come with a warning. You could put one of those chalkboards out front that says: Warning-the people who work here will melt your panties right off. "

Yep, you guessed it.... the witty banter is of the charts! This book had me laughing, smiling and swooning so damn hard with these two characters I just couldn't get enough. I loved the protective nature of Keegan and the sweet nature of Izzy but don't let her sweetness fool you she'll definitely give you a piece of her mind if need be! I just love these two so much!!

"Everything about you is a new discovery. You make me crazy with wanting you. I can't keep my eyes off of you, Isabella. And it's going to sound macho, but I don't give a shit. You're mine. In every sense of the word, you're mine."

If you've read the With Me In Seattle Series you know these books own a piece of your heart. This addition with the O'Callaghan's just lets you know you'll never get it back! If you haven't started this series I highly recommend you start, I promise you want be sorry!

Dream With Me - 4 stars
Imagine With Me - 3.75 stars
Escape With Me - 4 stars

It’s funny this newer branch to the With Me In Seattle doesn’t seem to be getting much fanfare - from what I’ve seen at least -, but I’m just gonna say it, the O’Callaghans are my new favorite KP family. It’s pretty simple, KP is a seasoned writer now vs the original, so the characters & the storytelling have both improved — I still have affection for parts of the original with the Montgomerys, of course(it was the first contemporary romance family series I read). It might also be a fun little cherry on top imagining a sexy Irish lilt in my head (where it shall stay ‘cause no one needs to hear any attempt aloud...like ever 🙊🙉).

More later...

What happens when you're walking down the aisle to get married to the person you know is all wrong for you? Do you go through with it or do you run? Well that is the dilemma that Izzy is faced with. So she did what was best for her and ran, hopped into her car and drove for hours before she stopped in front of a Pub on a tiny island outside of Seattle.

Keegan has been married for years....to his bar! His family feared that he would never settle down because he didn't put anything before his Pub, well that was until a vision in a soaking wet bridal gown walked into his bar looking more beautiful than anything he had ever seen in his life.

The chemistry between Izzy and Keegan was smoking hot! I loved the way they were always their for one another no matter what happened, and the way Keegan was with Izzy was just beautiful.

I LOVE the O'Callahans! This family is there for one another no matter what and it takes a special person to mesh with a family like that and Izzy fit in as if she was made not only for Keegan but for the whole family.

ESCAPE WITH ME is the third book in the O'Callaghans Series and the sixteenth book in the With Me Series, each book can be read as a standalone because it is based on one couple and doesn't end on a cliffhanger. If you have read any if either series you will enjoy this read and if you haven't started yet now is a perfect time to jump in and see what you've been missing. I have a feeling once you meet Keegan and his family you'll want more of them and their friends and extended family members.

Happy Reading!!!

Every single time I have a new title on my Kindle by Kristen Proby, i'm excited. I know what I am going to get, I know I am going to enjoy it, and I know the story is going to be one I can get lost in and invilved, that I am gping to care about the people in the story, the main and secondary characters.

Keegan and Izzy are the latest of the Seattle/O'Callaghan's series and while it's great if you know the other characters in the story and have read their books, it's not necessary to fully enjoy the story, which matters more and more the longer the series goes on, and it's still true in this book.

It seems like every review I wrote for Ms. proby's titles is some version of me saying how much I enjoyed the book and the characters, and I am not going to break the trend with this one.

I loved it, I stayed up too late reading, and when I woke up the next morning, I picked up the book and kept reading.

I enjoyed and recommend this title.

I am loving this spin off series so much. Not only do we get our favorite characters from the original series but we get new character’s to fall in love with.

Keegan is the brother I wanted to get his HEA the most when I learned about him. He was so content to be running the pub but I knew there had to be a girl that would love him and he love her outside the pub.

Isabella is that woman. She comes into his life when she needed someone to be strong for her.
And she came into his life when he was ready for more.
It’s a great love story with ups and downs and the fantastic HEA we all know and love.

The delicious accents both these narrators can do make you never want the book to end. I am a huge Lance Greenfield fan and he kills it in this book.

5 Stars!

Kristen Proby has had me as a fan since I discovered the very first book in this series many years ago and since then, I've been a loyal reader and devoted fan to this series. And y'all honestly, the books continue to get better and better. Well she's back with the newest standalone in the With Me In Seattle series and y'all what a book this was. All the feels and all the swoon packed into this beauty right here and I'm telling you there is something about these men.

Escape With Me was everything in the very best ways. Isabella and Keegan stole my heart and kept me captived from the first page to the very last word they gave. I got lost in their beautiful journey and oh my goodness what a journey it was.

If you like your books filled unforgettable moments, loads of heart, all the undeniable heat/chemistry, and those pesky emotions that make your heart soar.. then you HAVE to give this amazing, brilliant author and this series a whirl. You won't regret it.

I highly recommend this book.

So lovely.

I love family series and this author can write one heck of a family for us to love. Keegan's family is simply amazing and we even got to see some of the old faces we've come to cherish.

Keegan and Isabella/Izzy just clicked and worked so well together. It was adorable to see them getting closer and closer, even if some scenes seemed a little too fastpaced or disconnected.

I've said it before, but I feel it's appropriate to say it again: Kristen Proby is always a safe read. A way to relax, enjoy and know that everything will work out just fine.

I'm really excited about the next books in the series and I can't wait for Maggie and Cameron's turn.

4 Satisfying and Swoony Stars!

Escape With Me is a fantastic addition to the With Me In Seattle & O’Callaghan Series’. Escape With Me follows the story of Keegan and Izzy. When we first meet up with Izzy, she’s run out on her wedding. She finds herself on a tiny island in Washington. Little did she know, her world was about to be turned upside down once again….

Escape With Me was the absolute perfect book to spend my day getting lost in. There’s just something about this series that feels like coming home and I just can’t get enough of it. And let me tell you, Izzy and Keegan do not disappoint. They suck you into their story from the first page and keep you begging for more.

Sparks flew instantly between Izzy and Keegan. Their chemistry was intense and undeniable. I loved their insta-love connection. Their story was filled with the perfect mix of drama, romance and angst. I loved all of the unexpected twists and turns and the angst in between. Izzy and Keegan are a couple that you can’t help but root for.

If you’re looking for a book that is going to captivate you and leave you with a smile on your face, then look no further. Escape With Me is the second chance romance that you are looking for. Izzy and Keegan’s story is filled with lots of heart, family, and romance. I loved the cameos from the O’Callaghan clan and the With Me In Seattle crew. Escape With Me checked all of my boxes and gave me all the feels. All in all, a great book to spend your day curled up with. I can’t wait to see what adventure this author has in store for us readers next!

Oh my I think I may have fallen head over heels in love with Keegan. I have been curious as to the what type of woman would throw this Irishman for a loop and obliviously it is a runaway bride.
Isabella is literally standing in the back of the church and realizes she is not able to commit to this man and take those vows or continue to work in the family business. She feels that all her choices have been made for her. Feeling as though she has no say in her future she runs. A few hours later she finds herself drenched, sitting in a bar, still in her wedding dress and watching the most handsome bartender she has ever laid eyes on dazzle the patrons.
Keegan is part of the O'Callaghans rowdy family and runs the family bar and restaurant with the help of his crazy lovable family. The moment he lays eyes on the distraught Izzy he knows that he is smitten but she is troubled and really needs a job, a friend and support ...he can manage that and maybe a bit more.
I just loved this couple and their wonderfully smart witty banter. They are sweet, sexy and oh so romantic . They also have the amazing cast/Keegan's family to give you a boat load of entertainment. Get ready for the O'Callaghans they are back !

Escape With Me by Kristen Proby
“Game changer, 5 stars”

If you love Proby’s stories you will love Escaped With Me. Keagan has all the Irish charm and Isabella is just perfect for him. Plus, you get to see some of the original Proby couples, and let’s be honest, no one would turn that down.
Keagan is married to his bar. Yes, he may enjoy the company of a woman once in a while, but no one has ever made him look twice. Not until Isabella stumbles into his bar, looking like a mess and a little lost. Like the upstanding man he is, he offers her shelter and a job. What he didn’t expect was that he would develop feelings for her. She just got out of a relationship. Does she want another one? Only one way to find out.
Isabella drove as far as she could away from the life she didn’t want. What she didn’t expect was the handsome Irish man. He makes her feel things that her ex never could. The chemistry is undeniable. It’s not smart starting a relationship with your boss, but sometimes the heart wants what the heart wants.

I wondered who would be the woman that would steal Keegan heart. Izzy was like a breath of fresh air. She was funny and thoughtful. And let's not forget strong. Life has thrown her a curve ball but she took charge and made it work. Per usual the O'Callaghan clan was there to help out and I loved seeing "old" faces appearing and getting to see what are they up to nowadays.

To sum this up; this is one of those "open up a bottle of wine and read it one sitting" kinda book. I promise you that you'll laugh and swoon! PROMISE!!

I enjoyed Escape With Me quite a bit. I was a bit hesitant about starting this one after giving book 1 in the series one star last week. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I flew through this one. All of the characters were pretty great and I loved our main characters Keenan and Izzy together. They had chemistry and fit so well into each other's lives. The whole O’Callaghan family was a hoot and I need to go back and read their books as well.

I was so excited for Keegan's book! And Kristen certainly did not disappoint.
We meet Izzy while she is standing at the alter deciding she cannot say "I do" and she flees the church. With nothing but the wedding dress she is wearing and her cell phone and purse, she jumps in her car and drives for hours until she decides to stop at none other than the O'Callaghan's Pub and walks right into Keegan's life.
I couldn't put this book down. Keegan has always intrigued me and there was so much to this man. He is quite taken with Izzy and I must say so was I. She is smart, funny, so down to earth and quite frankly a breath of fresh air. She has not had the greatest life, yet you would never know it. Her personality is so upbeat and just downright charming.
This book was filled with all the wit and sass you come to expect from Kristen and of course she definitely bought the the steamy chemistry between Keegan and Izzy.
I loved this story and of course the added bonus of getting to spend some time with the all the O'Callahans and the Montgomerys.

Kristen Proby has been one of my favourite romance authors for years. I stumbled across Wait For You and fell in love. I immediately read the rest of the series and have been reading her books ever since.

Escape with me was released on Tuesday and I didn’t it wait, I read it in a day. This book was sexy, heartwarming and funny. A story of a runaway bride running into a bar owned by a hot Irish man was its intriguing. You could feel the sexual chemistry on the page with the characters but also felt for them when they discussed they’re struggles. Proby also has this amazing way of introducing new characters and tying them in with the story for future books. I enjoyed every page of this books and cannot wait for the next one!

I’ve been waiting for Keegan’s story since we first met him. Who wouldn’t like a hot, sexy, Irish bar owner! I love the way the O’Callahan’s are with each other and the way they are when the find their one.

Izzy finally gets a backbone. Too bad it’s at her wedding. A wedding that, thankfully, never happens. She ends up at Keegan’s bar and that is that.

Kristen Proby has an amazing ability to write characters that stick with you long after you finish reading. Characters that you want to read their stories over and over because it makes your heart sign. That’s what Escape With Me did to me.

Book 3 in the O’Callaghan series focuses on brother Keegan, who owns the family pub. He’s married to it. He’s the reliable brother who works too hard and never takes a vacation, until he meets Isabella.

Izzy could have been a very different character. She came from a privileged background and didn’t want for anything growing up, unlike Keegan, who came from blue collar, hard working roots. Izzy was a strong character; she was a hard worker and very sweet. Once she broke away from her old life, it’s like she became a new person.

Keegan was a bit of a tougher nut to crack, but as soon as he met Izzy, he was a goner. I loved watching their love story. We get the whole O’Callaghan family in this book, and a lot of the Montgomery’s (including my all-time favorite Matt) made an appearance in this book. I always love seeing the Montgomery’s in KP’s other stories.

Overall, this was a solid book and I would recommend it.

I love each and every addition to the With Me in Seattle series, but Escape With Me is something extra special...I mean, who doesn't love a runaway bride story?! From the moment I read Izzy's prologue, I knew I was in for a treat.

Having met Keegan O'Callaghan earlier in the series, I knew it would take a very special lady to capture his heart. And Izzy is exactly that -- it takes a strong woman to leave her groom-to-be at the alter, despite the consequences. It takes a humbled woman to accept the help of strangers and it takes a dedicated woman to work her butt off and earn her independence. And through it all, Keegan is just so patient and quite frankly, so damn swoony!

"You've already become an important part of my life, Izzy. It's only been a short time, but I look forward to my time with you, and I only crave more. Kissing you is at once heaven and hell because I want to take it further, but I don't know what you're ready for."

He's everything you've come to expect from a Kristen Proby hero. The family interactions also do not disappoint - whether it's a large gathering with members of the extended family we've all come to know and love, to the fun-loving razzing between siblings - I loved every moment of it!

This was an okay one. The story had a lot if potential but the author gave most of it away. You can settle in for some mild drama that could have been well more explored and described .
The story has its weaknesses and doesn't really deserve being called a story because nothing really happens. It would have been boring at times if the charcters wouldn't be so funny.
If you wish to read about round charcters, don't try this one out because none of the charcters are well done. Not even the protagonists. The author touches on Izzys background a little bit but nothing is really solved in the end. Her family is full of dirtbags and the total opposite to her new fam. We get it. The O'Callaghans are great people.
Izzys mother one shows up and calls her an ungrateful bitch because her daughter didn't want to marry a man who beat her and cheated. It's the mother from hell, something that is very commonly used in this genre and something I am really sick about. This story could have been so much deeper if the author had explored more of the family dynamics and if she had given the family a chance to change. But no. That never happen. The bad stay the villaims and the good one the heroes. It is always the same. It's just like the Ex girlfriend or Ex Boyfriend. They are always mean people and often totally okay with cheating. They are never descend people who just fell out of love or were treated wrongly by the hero. Nope. It is always a world made of black and white and no grey areas in-between. That is wasted potential.

Nevertheless I caught myself laughing a few times. And the reason for that is simple: We finally got to see some of the original Montgomery family members.
Leo Nash still has my heart and I wish that there would have been even more scenes with the girls, but well it was more than we got in the last books.

My conclusion is simple. I am glad that I don't own the physical copy and could save some cash on this one. It was okay and totally average and it made me consider rereading the first books from this series. Because i remember loving them but I am kinda starting to doubt my judgement.
If you liked the previous 2 or 3 books then this is just for you. They are basically the same. Go for it.
