Within two weeks of this book being published, it was on Amazon's Top 100 Best Seller lists in Christian Suspense and Post-Apocalyptic Science Fiction.
*If God and scripture offend you, then this may not be the book for you*

The fight is never over.
America's Collapse is a fast-paced book, full of action, that will keep you up reading late into the night.
J. Jaffray has had a love of reading since childhood. With a history of teaching middle school Language Arts, it was only a matter of time until it blossomed into writing. With a wide range of interests and hobbies, J. Jaffray creates stories across multiple genres. America's Collapse was the first book written due to Jaffray's passion for anything apocalyptic and survival. Fun fact: the wolf in The Drift is based on Jaffray's furry companion, a solid black German Shepherd.
Interesting story about rapidly spreading deadly virus from Africa killing many millions of Americans . The drastic health situation leads to collapse of law and order . Virus survivors leave their large towns to escape the virus as well as crime . Survivors include a mixture of good as well as evil criminals with the good soon learning to trust no one. The good people plan how to survive this disaster as well as gain spiritual satisfaction in helping other similar good people begin a safe community for a new start in rebuilding their shattered lives.
Wow! This book was pretty good. I love these end of the world survival type stories. An ebola breakout has hit America and the country quickly falls. Gangs stalk towns killing and terrorizing people. Neighbors turn against neighbors. There is looting, murders and fighting. Hmm? Almost sounds like current day America.
God has removed his hand of protection from America and there is something spiritual going on also.
One family starts towards their cabin in the TN mountains. God sends other people to start rebuilding America Gods way.
Fires. Riots. Screams of terror and pain. Blood and plague, blind panic mingled with dread. America's Collapse shines when the world breaks down, and its many characters end up in one horrid situation after another. These danger spots feel real, and by just the end of the prologue, the dread had transferred from the page into the pit of my stomach. This book comes out hitting hard, fitting for a book labeled with the word 'Collapse'.
The way the story changes tone is incredible. By the end of the book, it is almost impossible to look back at the beginning and imagine that anything was ever 'normal,' yet the story leads on without a hitch. The collapse feels real, so real it's scary.
But the book sports two other labels: "America," and as the novel is categorized, "Christian Fiction." The author's 'American Christian' voice is strong in this book. His personal faith comes through the pages, with references to Bible verses and a strong understanding of the hidden backbone of life; the ugliness of humanity and the hope of redemption.
And the 'American' variant of Christian comes through too, with views on Guns, Politics, Technology, Prepping, GMOs, etc... The text gets preachy at points, and all the experiences and biases of a previous-generation Christian American are folded into the story, sometimes to the point of wish-fulfillment.
Taken for what it is, the book delivers an authentic viewpoint of humanity. Ultimate truths and strong convictions are bared, without compromise. For some, that voice could be a deal-breaker. But within these pages, between the horror and the teaching, genuine spots of kindness and compassion shine.
The latter half of the book introduces a few divine elements, miraculous occurrences, and the characters accept these without question. The story tends to move away from the horror of the sickness and collapse and toward spiritual awakening, but never loses its grip on a broken world.
Part horror apocalypse, part faith-filled testimony and teaching, part slice-of-life, America's Collapse delivers exactly what it intends to. The scenes are vivid and well-written, and the human element of the story is strong. If you're looking for thought-provoking insight pared with a gripping story that gives you a reality check, and don't mind the author's specific voice, give this one a whirl!
This is a w Christian book. By Christian I mean, A book that shows what real Christians look like at home, work or play. They love God's Word so they read it daily and talk about it a lot. They go to church every Sunday and are active there, and of course, talk about that as well. Most of their friends are also saved and they talk about God and His Word together. When around the unbelievers they share the gospel, hoping they will be saved. So if someone reviews a good Christian book saying there's to much preaching or Bible in it, that's just because they either aren't really saved or else haven't yet grown past babyhood. I'm grateful for Christian authors who refuse to go along with the ideas and advice of non Christian editors and publishers. 👍
What a refreshing book! I loved the spiritual aspect of the book and the scripture that prefaced each chapter. This book is really indicative of what is happening in America today. It is easy to believe that God might remove His hand of protection on our country because of our turning away from His commandments . looking forward to the next book in the series.
The supernatural religious element was not for me. I was also getting more leader becoming maniacal than actual religious person. I also don't enjoy when books use sexual assault as a plot point for male characters.
