The heroine: Quinn - a former cardiothoracic surgeon, Quinn was turned into an immortal four years ago after her husband was turned and then attacked both her and her son. Quinn was in a bad state after she was turned and found it all hard to deal with.
The Hero(es): Jet - he is a former Navy pilot who now works for the Argeneau Corporation as a corporate pilot that transports immortals from place to place. Though he is a mortal, through his job he is aware of immortals.
The Story: While on a flight from Italy to Canada, the plane crashes, the pilot dies and several of the immortal women are hurt very bad. The only way for their immortal bodies to heal is to take in large amounts of blood so the nano’s in their bodies can start repairing the injuries. However, the only source of blood is Jet. Quinn has to get him to safety before the immortal women in that state of blood lust are able to tear him apart.
As Quinn reflects back on her marriage and he husband, he always seems to come back wanting in comparison to Jet. Quinn’s husband Jack seemed to be a selfish, self-centered, and controlling man who tried to compensate for his own low self esteem by keeping Quinn down as much as possible. While Jet is fully confident and able to admit when he needs help from Quinn since she is immortal and he isn’t.
I also like that fact that new life mates are so unused to the shared pleasure they experience when they are intimate that they both literally pass out right after the big “O”. And it kills me that immortals hate the fact that some people call them vampires when they are not. They just can’t be killed unless they are burned to death or beheaded and the head is kept apart from the body for too long.
The story was a good one and I especially liked the way Quinn came around to realizing that her dead husband wasn’t as bad as she initially thought and how she bore a lot of the blame herself. For a while during the story I saw her as weak, despite how she helped Jet after the plane crash and was glad there was eventually a reason for that and she ended up a very strong character.

This is a well-written, entertaining, steamy paranormal romance written with Ms. Sands' classic humor and wit. It is an excellent addition to the Argeneau series. It can easily be read and enjoyed as a stand alone, but is even better when read in order, as there are appearances of other characters, and references to past events, which Ms. Sands does an excellent job briefly explaining, so that readers who are new to the series can follow along.

What a way to start a book! I've only read a handful of the books in this series, but I find I like them more and more with each one. The best thing is you can read these as standalone.
To me, this one was an exciting read because it immediately starts off with a plane crash and the race through woods to get the human to safety before the injured vampires kill him. It was literally like horror movie start. I loved it!
I wasn't sure how the rest of the book could hold up to that beginning excitement but it really did. I felt this was a pretty fun read and it just makes me want to go back and read all the others in the series.

Jet Lassiter is living his best life. He loves his job and doesn’t even mind that his passengers are vampires. It’s everything he could dream of until his plane goes down and four of his passengers are seriously injured, with only his blood to cure them….Quinn Peters never asked to be an immortal and was turned against her will. She hates the direction her life has taken and just when she thinks it can’t get any worse, it does….
Overall, I thought this book was a quick and easy read. This story hits the ground running and never looks back. I found this story to be fresh and interesting. I haven’t read many books by this author, but was still able to enjoy this read without feeling lost. When it comes to Quinn and Jet’s romance, it definitely is a case of insta-love. Their story was filled with drama, lots of exciting moments, and an overall enjoyable romance.

Jet and his friend pilot the plane but when a crash happens and Jet's friend dies in the crash while he was unconscious, he can only thank the guy for getting most of the plane down in one piece.
Quinn and other immortals (think vampires but they don't like being called that) are on the plane when it crashes. Jet is a mortal and some of the immortals are hurt really bad, they are in desperate need of blood so that their nanos can repair their bodies. So Jet is in real danger from them because at this point they are little more than mindless killers. Getting the mortal to safety while the immortals are trying to get at him for his blood is really tricky but Quinn is there to help him make it to safety.
Once they finally get to safety, it's time to figure out what happened to cause the plane to go down. At first everyone thinks it's just an accident but little by little they piece together an entirely different situation. While they are investigating who might want to kill someone who was on the plane, a huge secret is uncovered and now one of them is in serious danger. Quinn and her sister had something terrible happen to them when they were kids but Quinn has packed those memories away and has a kind of amnesia about the whole thing. Once the veil is lifted from her mind and the bits and pieces come flooding back, her whole life started to make more sense to her.
All the while the investigation into the plane crash is going on, Quinn is trying to piece together her memories and some super secret, ancient group is out to get revenge...Quinn and Jet are trying to make sense of the feelings they have for each other.
This book was a continuous line of danger, action and romance, time and time again. The danger was real and had me on the seat of my chair as I didn't know how or if they were going to find a way to safety each time something bad happened. But the romance was sweet and hot! This book was hard to put down, so I didn't and devoured it in one sitting.

This is a fast reading, hot and sexy vampire 'romance.
I adore Lynsay Sands early vampire novels and all of her historicals. The earlier novels relied more on comedy; for instance, The Accidental Vampire or Single White Vampire. These are the types of books that started this series. Now, I know that no long-running series can rely on only certain tropes and remain fresh and popular, but I have to say that the last few books I've read rely more on sex and violence than anything else. If that is your thing, the darker aspect of vampire romance, then you are going to adore this book.
Mile High With a Vampire starts quite strong; very exciting and stays that way for a certain amount of time, then because we are immediately thrust into sexual situations. I won't tell you why because that would be a spoiler. But you will figure it out soon enough; believe me, it's obvious.
Something that bothers me is that we start with certain characters that seemed to be playing important roles -and then we never hear about them again. That seemed to be a bit of inadvertently unfinished business and annoyed me a bit.
Also, I'm not sure if I missed a book or not, but we never truly get the full story on Quinns' change -the why's of it. Did I miss a book?
I think that I really need to step back from reading my comfort Argeneau books if I am going to continue this series. That or I need to drop at least 20 years! LOL!

MILE HIGH WITH A VAMPIRE by Lynsay Sands is book 33 in the Argeneau Series. This is the story of Quinn Peters and Jet Lassiter. I have read the previous books and book but I do think book 29 "The Trouble With Vampires" is the book Quinn was introduced if my memory is correct. But, this can be a standalone book if you wish to do so. Quinn was forced to be a immortal / blood sucker a few years ago. Having to adapt to her new way of life she knows the dangers of what just happened when their plan crashes. Jet is a human who is a pilot for Argeneau Inc and has loved his job. When his plane crashes with his passengers he was one of the few humans on the plane. So he is now in danger of being attacked for his blood. Quinn goes into protective mode out to get him to safety so her exceptional strength due to who she has taken Jet and they are on the run. We later learn that the plane crash wasn't an accident and that they are in more danger than they thought. I am a huge fan of this author so I highly recommend her writing and this book/series.

The book is an interesting read. I like how it to my mind to the fantasy side of reading. I found the book a great read for readers who love reading vampire novels.

Since he left the Navy, Jet Lassiter has enjoyed his position as a pilot for Argeneau, Inc. He gets to travel and meet interesting people, even if he can’t help but think of them as vampires. Still, he has no complaints, until his plane crashes in a remote mountain area, gravely injuring four of his five passengers, all of whom desperately need blood to heal, with Jet being the only source anywhere nearby.
Quinn Peters was a successful heart surgeon before she was turned immortal against her will. She’s not exactly enjoying life and now she’s been involved in a plane crash. As the only uninjured immortal, she knows she has to help get Jet to safety as he’ll never elude the other immortals on his own.
The crash turns out to be the least of the problems facing Quinn and Jet when they learn that the engines were deliberately sabotaged, and someone is out to kill Quinn. She and Jet can tell they have life mate potential, but there are plenty of obstacles to be dealt with before they explore their future possibilities.
I loved the fast pace of this book. Things got off to a quick start and didn’t slow up so for the first time in quite a while, I was actually reading something that really drew me in. Quinn definitely had a lot of issues to work through and much of her thinking was maddeningly cyclical and not really fair to Jet. Fortunately, she acknowledged her issues and took steps to work through them, with the help of some favorite characters from previous books. Given my frustration with Quinn at first, Jet carried much of this book for me. He was a fantastic hero and just so dang competent and supportive that I couldn’t help but like him immediately, which is probably why I was frustrated with Quinn for taking longer to give him what he deserved. I also found this book refreshing because oftentimes in romance we see the hero trying to make himself worthy of the heroine but this story is a bit of a reversal in that it is Quinn who is working on herself and trying to get her issues taken care of so she can be what Jet needs. I actually found that very sweet and I liked the maturity to be found in the communication between these two. Plus, as always, I loved the devotion shown by life mates to one another; it never fails to make me swoon. This may not be a new favorite for me, but it was another highly entertaining addition to the series and I hope there are more coming as this is one of my favorite universes to escape into.

Okay.. I'll admit... I do judge a book by it's cover. I usually don't pick up books that have men with washboard abs on the front, BUT, I picked this book up at a book swap that I attended over the weekend, and the previous owner said it was really good, so, here I am.
This is my first book by Lynsay Sands, and I'm a fan! I'll definitely be reading more from her.
This book is a part of a series. There's about 30 books I believe, but you can read all of them as standalones, which I very much appreciate!

This started off with a bang! - Literally, because it starts off with a plane crash in the first chapter!!
Quinn is racing against time as she tries to transport the mortal from the plane crash through the woods to safety, before the injured vampires kill him. The beginning of this book was like a horror movie, and was very exciting.
As you continue reading, you get to know the main characters, Jet and Quinn, and watch them on their journey to figuring out that they're life-mates.
Turns out, the plane crash wasn't an accident, and somebody is trying to kill Quinn. Will she and Jet find their happily ever after as life-mates, or will her assassin find her first?
This was a well-written, steamy, vampire romance. I loved it! It has a very unique take on the creation of vampires that I haven't read before, so it was refreshing to read something different. You would think that with this being book number 33 of the series, that it would be stale and boring, but it's quite the opposite. It makes me want to go back and read the other books!!
This is my first book by Lynsay Sands, and I'm a fan! I'll definitely be reading more from her.

WOW. Why do I always set myself to a long series? Every time!
However, I know I won't regret this.
I have never read her works, and I think I have found my new favourite author.
This was so good!
I love that we can read this as a standalone.
I don't think I can commit to reading them in order, there are just too many of them, and it was hard enough to find them in my library!
This was so addictive; the characters' chemistry was realistic even though its a vampire.
The relationship was mature individually. They had their character growth, and their building romance was satisfying.
I'm not too sure how the series is connected or if we will see the same main characters as side characters in other books but I am excited!

the only reason this gets 3 stars is because of how absolutely batshit insane it is
this book has the most ridiculous and unsexiest vampire lore i've ever heard. i feel like she must be a christian and she felt strange about making them undead creatures who burn when they touch a cross and instead made them living immortal beings infested with nanobots. fucking nanobots. i have very little evidence for that claim because i didn't read any of the other books but that's what i'm gonna roll with
also they were getting attacked by a bear after crash-landing in the canadian wilderness not 20 pages in. and if you ask me, not enough canadian wilderness and huddling for warmth in the wild

If you’re seeing this review and actually like these novels please skip, if you are anyone else, continue as you were. I picked up this book because the cover of the edition I saw has the man standing in front of the plane, wearing aviator glasses with a reflection of the plane wing in them. He’s standing in FRONT of the wing. It’s physically impossible that he could have the reflection at this angle! Surely if the front cover didn’t get reviewed the rest of this novel wouldn’t have gotten reviewed either.
This book is so bad I don’t even know where to start. I don’t even think the author knew what she was writing when producing this. I guess I’ll just start with some quotes to really drive home the bad writing: “[…] she was so slender he has the urge to take her out somewhere and feed her.” (How romantic!! -sarcasm-). Another classic what the F moment comes out at page 30, Jet the pilot is talking about his job, which includes flying vampires around the world and we get to read this gem. “At least with other companies you only had to worry about terrorists blowing you up, or hijackers shooting you.” EXCUSE ME?? This was the sentence that made me check when this book was published. Surely it was 1980? Praying so? Nope. Two thousand and twenty one. 2021!!!! There is no way that should have ever been printed.
I’d like an honourable mention for Quinn’s sister’s name, Petronella, because this stupid name had me laughing when I really wanted to just cry and not finish this book. (But I am a trooper, I had to finish it!) Oh, also Quinn thinks Jet is a stupid name but her sister is literally gas-nella. Make it make sense folks!
By page 50, the airplane has been destroyed, something about bombs in the engines…I forgot to mention Quinn and the rest of the passengers are vampires. Jet and the other (now dead) pilot are mortals. Jet keeps saying things like “the she-pires” instead of just the passengers. He’s not a good professional. Essentially the rest of the book is spent on the ground, meaning the title “mile high with a vampire” is hugely misleading. Quinn’s job is a heart surgeon, she is an actual doctor. Jet has enough mind changing on if vampires are good or bad, you can get whiplash just trying to understand why he flip flops so hard. Another lovely quote: “Being a life mate meant turning like (bbf Abigail) had done, and that meant becoming a blood drinker, which just sounded disgusting to him.” Suppose I should explain life mates, since the book really drills in this wording; they’re (Quinn and Jet) destined to be together. They technically met 4 years before this book since he flew her somewhere, and has had a raging hard on for her ever since but again she is a she-pire. So he can only dream of sleeping with her, not actually doing it. Meanwhile she has no recollection of him whatsoever, it’s humorous that way.
Anyways, back to the “plot”. They spend some chapters in the forest/jungle where the plane crashed trying to find help and stay far enough away from the other vampires that they won’t drain Jet dry once they wake up and see they’re in bad shape from the crash. They do finally find help by a rich cabin in the woods type spa thing, and the workers are described as, “Either the lodge catered to rich old perverts who liked having large breasted women around, or the guy in charge of hiring did, Jet thought. He’d always preferred smaller, well shaped ones himself. Like Quinn’s”, which really gets the point across that Jet thinks everyone else is the pervert, not him. That’s a totally normal sentence to think right? And just in case the reader forgot all these women have huge boobs we get this sentence on the next page, “the red headed Brittany destined for back issues”. It’s so stupid again you have to choose between laughing and crying.
All the humans get shuffled into the basement/booze box/storage area in a cage, just to give Quinn a chance to kill the rest of the vampires before the humans are used as food. She gets a massive gun, and then closes her eyes to shoot the intruder. Turns out it’s the head of security(?) some VIP vampire dude who I think also is Jet’s boss? It was very unclear. Might just be the manager of vampires?
Q&J get taken to civilization. The rest of the vampires are labeled dead, and the employees of the lodge just stay in the middle of nowhere opening the lodge for the season. After they were in huge amounts of danger. Seems plausible.
Quinn is having a conversation with the motherly vampire, who we find out is a therapist named Mary. Quinn is talking about the mangled body leftovers she saw of the vampires from the plane crash. The quote is: Mary:”Funny because the image that flashed through your mind when you thought of her looked more like a picture I once saw of those poor victims of concentration camps like Auschwitz.” THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. This is when I learned this novel is actually 33 in a line up of 34! How did we get so many books and this is written like trash still? Did the author have zero growth? Is book 1 actually good because she needed it to be published? The next page brings us to a way lighter topic, the fact that Quinn hasn’t shaved her legs in 4 years and it’s apparently the end of the world to Mary. She points out “I originally thought perhaps it was depression”, to which Quinn brilliantly thinks “Had (I) been depressed?” A DOCTOR didn’t know she was depressed??
The girls then go shopping for clothing and cue a very trivial underwear shopping scene where Mary is trying to get Quinn to buy thongs for Jet, and Quinn utters “maybe but wearing thongs for any length of time can irritate your vajayjay”. The doctor. The heart surgeon cannot say vagina. Tell me why?? In this store, she sees a man at the store front which causes her to faint/bash her head in on the floor. They all rush home to heal her. The entire group stays around her bed talking about her significant trauma while she “sleeps”. Clearly she wakes up and just pretends to sleep, thus leading to a massive breakdown for her.
We get some more back story about the plane crash, basically the Chinese vampire mafia have targeted the plane but nobody knows why. They suspect it’s due to Quinn’s parents dying by the mafia’s hands, and that Quinn just changed her name to have her mother’s name included in her own. Since you know, vampires need to take new identities every few years instead of every 20 or so, or was highly important she do this NOW. And the real important fact is that she and Gasnella were shoved into a closet to survive the mafia, but one of the mafia’s guys turned out to be a life mate to Quinn and that’s why he let the girls live. We were told earlier that vampires only have 1 life mate that’s why Jet is so important but actually they can have many. You just gotta collect them all.
We get some more mentions about how Quinn has a son who is also a vampire because her ex husband got turned and then turned her/the son. The son has been leaving with Gasnella in Italy, learning how to be a real vampire which includes being able to read people’s minds. You’d think that we would have gotten more hints about that key character choice but nope.
So anyways while Quinn is recovering from breaking her head in the store, Jet has come around real good to being her bodyguard or boyfriend, trusted advisor, whatever. She starts 3 hour therapy sessions with Mary and then re-tells Jet everything we just learned in the session. The writing is bad ok. It really follows the “say what you’re going to say, say the things, and finish by saying what you just said” method of public speaking in written form.
Jet decides he wants to stay by Quinn’s side forever. Quinn thinks “ok sure.” [SELF HARM TRIGGER TAG, skip to next paragraph!] So they decide to turn him into a vampire. It is the worst transformation scene I have ever seen in my lifetime. They chain him to a bed, then they remove him from the bed just to take off the sheets since there’s no reason to ruin the sheets when the mattress has some sort of blood protection on it, so it won’t get stained when they do this. (So weird!) Chain him back up, and then Quinn has to slit her wrist and feed him the blood from her wrist. She does so but not quickly enough, her wrist begins to heal. She must do it a SECOND time! And she gets harassed by Mary for not going fast enough which was funny as this is not a high stakes moment at all. Jet then thrashes around on the bed in so much agony that the chapter ends and we come back after like a day? Apparently Jet’s pain is not important.
Q&J go back to the mall now that he’s a vampire, to get the clothes they couldn’t finish getting last trip. He has to wear contacts because vampire eyes are silver and they’ll scare the humans. They go to the washrooms, and when he comes out he gets poison darted by the mafia. The mafia kidnaps the two of them. In the car, the one mafia guy explains that his dad was the life mate who found Quinn when she was little, and that because he spared her life the mafia was super pissed at him and tortured him until he died. Jet wakes up on the floor in the car, and then because the mafia thought he was human (yay contacts to save the day!) he’s able to deck the mafia and they are done being kidnapped. They get into another car and start driving back to the safe house. On the way there, they get frisky in the car and pass out on top of each other. When they wake up, they realize their car was towed back to the safe house. One of the body guards says something like, yeah we saw you on the GPS and went and towed the car. It was weird trying to reach the gas pedals with you in the driver seat and Quinn passed out on top of you, it took me a hour to get you back here. I had to crouch on the centre console to make it happen.
WHAT THE EVER LOVING F IS THAT?? So creepy!
The story ends with Q&J admitting they love each other. When can I get the lastest hours of my life back?
The author picture on the back is so blurry I think she went into witness protection after publishing this book.
This book is so bad I don’t even know where to start. I don’t even think the author knew what she was writing when producing this. I guess I’ll just start with some quotes to really drive home the bad writing: “[…] she was so slender he has the urge to take her out somewhere and feed her.” (How romantic!! -sarcasm-). Another classic what the F moment comes out at page 30, Jet the pilot is talking about his job, which includes flying vampires around the world and we get to read this gem. “At least with other companies you only had to worry about terrorists blowing you up, or hijackers shooting you.” EXCUSE ME?? This was the sentence that made me check when this book was published. Surely it was 1980? Praying so? Nope. Two thousand and twenty one. 2021!!!! There is no way that should have ever been printed.
I’d like an honourable mention for Quinn’s sister’s name, Petronella, because this stupid name had me laughing when I really wanted to just cry and not finish this book. (But I am a trooper, I had to finish it!) Oh, also Quinn thinks Jet is a stupid name but her sister is literally gas-nella. Make it make sense folks!

Any Argeneau book by Lynsay Sands is a delight for me to read. Some are just fun and others like this one keep you on the edge of your seat more than not. In fact, the first third of the book was extremely exciting and continued to be at times all the way to the end. The fact that the series centers on immortals that need to survive on blood just ups the drama even more. Not only that, these immortals have never been dead and originated from Atlantis.
This book features two characters that were peripheral in this series-Jet(human trusted by the immortals)in particular as he is best friends/almost siblings with Abigail from a previous book. I enjoyed his character when we first met him and I kept right on enjoying him in this book. He’s a pilot and Jet just happened to be his real name and not a nickname. He’s had a crush on Quinn since he flew her to Europe not too long after her turn to immortal. It’s been a few years now. On her part, she’s just not paying attention to anyone since she was turned against her will. She’s a doctor and she’s lost her practice, her home, everything she owned and her husband. All because her husband turned her for his own selfish reasons. Even after his turn by a rogue immortal, he still wanted to control her. A real winner of a man. So back on track, she doesn’t even remember Jet. When he has to fly her along with a group of vampires again she finally meets him. And this is where it would get all spoiler if I continue. I’ll just say that this is when the major action begins!
It’s the down time for the couple that keeps things interesting as well. Very early on they realize they are mates. Quinn, just out of a very unhappy marriage, says she is never going to get married again. Well, we will see how well that goes!
I really liked the premise of this book and thought the pacing was pretty perfect. Sands is a good romance author and she does know what she is doing. I have always loved these books and I am still slowly working my through them and only have maybe 10 left to read. It is not necessary to read them in order, especially the earlier books. Incidentally, I’ve already read this one twice. And I enjoyed it all over again!

Mile High With A Vampire is the newest addition to the Argeneau series and it had the same tones of flair, humor, and action that we have come to expect from this series and this author. I actually had a fun time with this book and while it's not the most impressionable of the recent books in the series, I found myself entertained and quite drawn into the series and this unique pairing. I will say that the pair that we come to know in this book is not your typical couple, and quite frankly at first, I had no clue how Lynsay Sands would make them work but somehow by the end they just fit right for each other so bravo to this author for redeeming them in such an equal fair way for me.
Mile Hi With A Vampire features:
Jet Lassiter-Pilot, military background, martial arts training, aware of immortals and works for Bastien and company.
Quinn Peters-Asian (Chinese) descent, single mother, new to being vampire(immortal)
Mile High With A Vampire sets off with Jet and Quinn sharing a flight with a few other vampires but during their journey their plane crashes, there are injuries of other vampires who once awaken will be full of blood lust. With Jet being mortal his life is in peril from those that will be going insane with blood lust. Quinn is instructed to take Jet and run as far as they can find a way to contact Bastien or Lucien and wait for help to arrive. As they flee into the mountains they will have to rely on each other's strengths to get them through the ordeal. But through their journey in the mountains, they start to connect as lifemates, passing through each other's dreams. Even though Quinn is the one with vampire immortal like strength she is green to her world. She has kept herself locked away for years, hiding from the trauma of her past and the truth of her new identity. It is Jet that keeps them focused and helps her with her abilities and knowledge. But as they fight their way to staying alive and protecting the mortal who aids them, their bond will strengthen. But Quinn will have to come to face with her past and fight for the man who loves her deeply. But will her past and that which haunts her keep her from finalizing their connection and push away this strong gentle man away forever?
Mile High With A Vampire was such a different romance than I have come to expect from this author. And yes we have seen these types of pairings occasionally with Lynsay Sands before which features the heroine being the vampire and the hero being the mortal (human). But this one was different in that even though our heroine is the vampire, she is new and has neglected to learn about who she has become. I did love seeing the depths of her past come to light and seeing her face up to that. And our hero is no weakling either. He has a history of military service and martial arts training, so he is more than capable in many ways. He is the solid and true one in the relationship but also will stand up for himself. He lets Quinn know when she is treating him wrong and sets healthy boundaries for their relationship, and Quinn has to really face up to her own actions especially in how she treats him, and re-evaluate her decisions. I really loved seeing this aspect in their relationship.
Seeing the growth in Quinn was truly phenomenal and I admire the way it played out in this story. I also had a blast with other secondary characters and we got some laughs with Lucien. Man, he cracks me up every time he comes into one of these books. I LOVE it. As he is one of my favorites of the series, His dry sense of humor just added the right flair to the story and had me having bursts of laughter in all the best of ways.
Overall I found Mile High With A Vampire is a fascinating, high thrilling adventure of a romance, that takes us through the forests, a perfect fit love story that delves into deeper issues, with diverse characters, laughter and light to balance it through it all. A true piece of art that only Lynsay Sands can deliver.

Jet Lassiter likes being a pilot for Argeneau Inc. Perks included travelling to exotic locations and meeting interesting people, even if they are the blood-sucking kind. He’s living the good life, until his plane goes down in the mountains and four of his passengers are gravely injured. They need blood to heal... and Jet is the only source.
Quinn Peters never wanted to be immortal. Once a renowned heart surgeon, she was turned against her will and now she has to drink blood to survive. Before she can ask how her “life” can get any worse, she’s in a plane crash. One of the few survivors, Quinn is desperate to get the mortal pilot to safety before her fellow immortals succumb to their blood lust and drain Jet dry.
But hungry vampires are the least of their worries—the crash wasn’t an accident, and someone is trying to kill Quinn. Will she and Jet find their happily ever after as life mates, or will her assassin find her first?

I liked this story more than some of the past few. I enjoyed the break from the crazy scientist (although LS really needs to go ahead and end that story arc). I liked Jet and Quinn and enjoyed them getting together. It was a nice break for all the explanations since they both already knew about immortals. I will of course continue to read this series, but I really miss the humor the beginning of the series had.

I liked this story more than some of the past few. I enjoyed the break from the crazy scientist (although LS really needs to go ahead and end that story arc). I liked Jet and Quinn and enjoyed them getting together. It was a nice break for all the explanations since they both already knew about immortals. I will of course continue to read this series, but I really miss the humor the beginning of the series had.

And the author has a PDF link to a reading order. I just cannot do it.

This book and I were never going to vibe, even if it IS about vampires. Now I just need to find another book to fulfill my spooky bingo prompt.

One of Lynsay's better books as she gave us a heroine with some real depth. These books are great for a day or two's enjoyment and collectively have more depth than you might expect but they are fairly formulaic. The villain in particular was rather disappointing even if not quite who and what she leads you to expect.

Ok Read, but not Lynsay Sands best…
While I did enjoy this new release by Lynsay Sands…I was quite disappointed, it wasn’t one of her best. I have been a Lynsay Sands fan for over a decade and have read pretty much all of her Argeneau series and all of her historical romances and loved them. This book was ok, but a disappointment. Would I read it again? Probably. But I would’ve waited for it to go on sale and not preordered it. I think Lynsay could’ve done better with this one, it had so much potential. The hero was one hot thing…though he was not as explored or given as much character as he could’ve had. The heroine was sweet. But I got tired of hearing how messed up she was, from herself, telling Jet that. It didn’t really have as much action as I’m used to in her books either. I also felt that the dream sequences went on way to long.

First of all I have read all the books in this series and the first 10 or so were great generally speaking but the last 4-5 have been nothing to write home about. This one however kept you pretty much glued to the pages for about 50% of the book and then a lull then it picks up again to a nice ending without being horribly boring although I did do some page scanning but overall I enjoyed the book a lot more than the last 2 for sure so I think it managed to crawl across the 4 Star line for me. I am going to keep reading this series until it just bored me to tears but I really miss the humor that was in those first books and is pretty much missing from these later books.

This series is so much fun. Between the true mate sex naps, the hilarious characters and the mystery that runs through each book. Once you start it's impossible to put it down and not laugh. I love trying to figure out what is going on with these couples.
The best part is thinking about this little 5 ft nothing lady (who is a vampire, so super strong) carrying a 6 and a half foot guy (who wasn't a vampire) over her shoulder so they could escape crazed vampires who want to drain him. It was hilarious, ridiculous and I loved every second of it.
I won't lie, I wanted to throttle Quinn through most of this book until we really hear about her past. Then it all made sense and I had to apologize to my kindle for cussing her out.
If you haven't picked up any of the books from this series, you really need to. They are so good!

Loved this.
So glad they were able to help Quinn with all that she was dealing with.
Usually it takes a little bit to really get into the story, but not with this book. I was hooked from the very beginning.

My Thoughts
Quinn Peters is, to say the least, described as an immortal with past trauma that has shaped her entire life in ways she never would have otherwise chosen.
To put it bluntly since she was turned forcibly against her will and without any choice immortal life for the past four years has, no pun intended, sucked.
Due to her flight crashing she is left with protecting mortal pilot Jet Lassiter against the rest of the immortal passengers.
As the pair grow closer their future is unsure but one thing is for certain the life mate bond refuses to be denied and it creates one more stressor for the pair to worry about.
Having missed reading book 29 where Quinn was introduced I missed out on her back story and felt the lack in this stories beginning however as it went on that ceased to matter when my delight with this newest pairing became more focused.
Book 33 is a very different coupling with Quinn and Jet as they seem to be on a more even footing than other immortal pairings in the series so far.
Interestingly enough Jet however is more knowledgeable about what it means to be life mates than Quinn, his time spent chatting with the immortals whose flights he had co-piloted gave him a wealth of information which made the situation easier on him than her.
A truly worthwhile addition in a series that I have enjoyed since it first started with first book back in early 2000’s and every book that have read in series since !

Mile High with a Vampire is the thirty-third book in the Argeneau series by Lynsay Sands. Bringing readers further into her immortal world, Sands is hitting a new stride within the series, simultaneously weaving past plots with new characters and new enemies.
In Mile High with a Vampire, Quinn has been an immortal for four years, but has spent every minute of that time withdrawn and refusing to accept who, and what, she has become. But just when she finally decides to seek help, the plane she's on crashes and Quinn must save herself and the pilot. But getting them to safety reveals one thing about Jet she wasn't expecting: he's her life mate.
Jet has been pining for Quinn ever since he met her four years ago. He never imagined that being a pilot for immortals would lead him to his life mate. Now that he's met her he doesn't want to let her go, but immortals from Quinn's past have other ideas. And Quinn herself isn't so sure. It will be up to Jet and the Argeneaus to convince Quinn to let her past go and embrace both her life mate and her future.
I think Sands writing and story telling is only getting sharper as the world of the immortals expands. We originally meet Quinn in the 29th book of the series, when her twin sister Pet finds her life mate in Santo Notte. We also get part of Quinn's tragic past in that book. Mile High with a Vampire does a fabulous job at building upon that story, adding new elements, and making what was Pet's story into Quinn's. I loved the connections between those two books. And, of course, we see return appearances by many immortals we've met in previous books, including some we haven't seen in a while. There definitely seemed to be more action (and more trouble for the immortals) in this book than others in the series, but Sands executed those scenes well. And of course there was plenty of interaction between the new life mates. Mile High with a Vampire was a fantastic addition to the Argeneau series, with a robust cast of characters, a complex plot, and all the humor readers have come to expect from a Lynsay Sands novel.

Jet loves piloting for Argeneau Enterprises. He first met Quinn Peters four years ago when she flew on one of his flights. Ever since he has been asking questions about her and seeking any scrap of information he could find. He was starting to feel like a stalker. Despite being an immortal for four years, Quinn is still a newbie because she refused to learn from Marguerite when she was turned. For the last three and a half years she has secluded herself in a rented house in Italy. Quinn only saw her son, Parker, and her sister and brother-in-law. When her sister tells her her reclusiveness was affecting Parker, she agrees to seek counseling with Greg in Toronto. Quinn, with five other women, book a flight with Jeff Miller, the pilot, and Jet, the copilot, to Canada. During the flight, the plane's engines are blown to smitherings and Jeff must make a crash landing. Three of the women are severely injured. Being immortals, they will need blood to heal their bodies. Since Jeff is dead, Jet is the only source for them. Quinn takes it upon herself to save Jet from the she-pires, the female vampires. As they race through the woods toward a small encampment, she can't help wondering if she will be able to save Jet and the people at the camp? If she can stay ahead of her fellow passengers, they all might stand a chance.
Lynsay Sands has written another novel to add to the Argeneau series. I always look forward to these books because the story arc is fresh but familiar. It amazes me that 30+ books in to the Argeneau series and there's still fresh storylines to explore. Mile High with a Vampire is the first time we see someone who has been turned that is rejecting life as a vampire and is not happy with the choice that was made. It also features two characters we first met in previous books so not the best place to jump in if you're new the series. (Although book 29 where Quinn is first introduced is a good place to start if you don't want to go back to the beginning.) This book is definitely among the more action packed in the series and we get to see several previously introduced characters, which is a treat for someone like me who has read the entire series.

I don't know, these books used to be such comfort for me and now I'm getting bored because it seems the author ran out of scenarios and just recycles. Plus this down deep in the series one probably knows what's up so there is no need for pages and pages of explaining what this type of vampire is all about.
There is also this thing with filling rooms with characters past and telling who is related to whom which has no impact on the story, it just takes up space and makes one angry because sure, it's nice you haven't forgotten this character but do you need to show all his relatives again?
If you cut out this obnoxious part, you still get a decent love story. But I'm starting to think that this a book a year pace is too much for me. I'll need a longer break.
