This is an entertaining, well-written, futuristic time travel novella. It is fast paced with a strong female protagonist, a warm family dynamic, and an original story. I am looking forward to reading more of Ms. Livingston's imaginative works with great anticipation!

Author Niki Livingston brings us the tale of Alex from the year 2025 to 18,000 years in the future back to 4035. Alex thought that she had been abounded in 2009 but as it turns out her parents wanted to keep her safe and the best place to do that was in their past. Alex's aunt and uncle come back in time to bring her to the future but thanks to her aunt she can't trust her uncle. The reason why she can't trust him is because her aunt has lied to her and her mother. But that is only the beginning as Alex finds out that she is really only half human. This then spirals out as the true face of her aunt is revealed and the main government of 18,000 years in the future wants to kill her because she is only half human which is a crime punishable by death. This is a great novella and one that I highly recommend.

I love this story.

I fell in love with this story when it was first in, Shattered Time Anthology. I couldn’t wait to read it again once it was released on it’s own. Now after reading it a second time, I am still blown away at how beautifully written and on the edge of your seat thrilling this story is. If you want to read a story with an amazing character like, Alex. I suggest you read A Web Through Time!
