I’m broken. Lost. Unsure of where to go from here. For as long as I can remember, my identity has been intertwined with hers. Melanie’s boyfriend, high school sweetheart, fiancé, husband—well, ex-husband now. That wound is still raw.
After the divorce was finalized, I threw myself into work, hoping to let out my frustrations on walls that need to be demolished, kitchens that need gutting, etc. That’s why when my sister calls and tells me about the opportunity of a lifetime, I find myself on the nearest flight back home.
I’m eager and excited to get my hand on this project, that is until I find out that I’ll have to be on camera. Turns out, my new boss is HGTV host, Luna North, and we are renovating her grandmother’s house for her hit TV show.
Definitely not what I signed up for. Luna’s all five-foot-two inches of temptation with a sassy mouth, and a smile that renders me speechless. And watching her handle a Miter Saw...f**k! Everything she does seems to turn me on. Hell, even the way she says drywall sounds filthy. How is that even possible? It’s extremely difficult to watch her handling my tools like a pro and conceal my evident attraction from her, the crew, and cameras A, B, and C.
But it’s so much more than just physical. She clears the fog from my mind and guides my misguided heart back in the right direction. She’s my compass. My one, True North.
