Bri loves a good romance, especially ones that involve a hot anti-hero. That is why she likes to turn the dial up a notch with her own writing. Her Broken Cross series is her debut dark romance series.
She spends most of her time hanging out with her family, plotting her next novel, or reading books by other romance authors.
If this is what sets the tone all I can say is YES YES YES, I am hooked already the darkness will engulf Anais and she won't have a choice, Damien will do as he pleases and she will be the lamb to the slaughter. Definitely a must read for me. I voluntarily reviewed this book.
For a prequel, this was captivating. Left on a cliffhanger, but also wanting more. Introduction of characters - Damien & Anais. What are Damiens expectations, what will be Anais revenge? So much to look forward to, sad to have to wait....
New author in my library, definitely cannot wait for Sinners Empire to be released in full.
Now that was a kickoff to a new series. I’m not usually a fan of cliffhangers but I have a good feeling this will be worth it and then some. I can’t wait to see what happens with Damien and Anais. I can’t wait for Savage Empire to go live on 3/11/21!! 🖤❤️🔥❤️🖤
Overall, I thought this was pretty interesting and a good prequel for the series. I'm low-key still a little confused on what exactly happened with Anais, Damien, and everyone else, so I'm hoping that will be resolved when I start reading Savage Empire. 😅
For a prequel, this was ok. There were a couple of things that didn't flow for me. When James comes back from meeting Damien and he's talking to his wife, his inner dialogue is he doesn't tell his wife. Then all of a sudden days later while talking with Anais, she now knows everything but yet he hadn't told her anything when he came home from his meeting. Or then Anais randomly bumps into someone on the sidewalk. For some reason, this is a concern, but is it?? It's only mentioned again after her dinner with her dad and he's telling her there are problems at the company and then she chooses to think maybe she should tell them about a random stranger?? Makes you think there is something with that, however, absolutely nothing comes from that. I don't know, I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt with this and keep going with the series.
A short prequel to a debut series from a new author, Sinners Empire sets the scene for Savage Empire, the first book in the Broken Cross series. The main protagonists are Damien Cross and Anais Monroe, the daughter of a man who cannot repay his debt to Damien. This relates how their paths cross and what Damien's intentions towards Anais are. I found it captured my attention immediately, enough to make me want to read the series, even though I know that the story continues over a trilogy and contains cliff-hangers, which I usually try to avoid.
I was hooked from the first page. I predict that this, Broken Cross series, is going to be a huge hit. I’m smitten with Damian Cross already! Can’t wait for more.
Now this is what I call a prequel! I couldn't read this fast enough. Within a couple pages I was sucked into the story of Damien and Anais. The storyline is dark and captivating, instantly dramatic. I knew instantly this was going to be a must read series.
