Oh my gosh! I had forgotten how amazing this book is! Gah! The steam between Chloe and Brent is combustible! And I especially forgot how much I loved Brent. He was so darn sweet and cute. I’ve never loved a shy hero, that I can remember, but Brent is developed in such a way that I absolutely adored him. I’m definitely going to make sure I reread this book often.

Holy heck! This was sooo good! I enjoy everything this author writes but this one definitely takes high honors.
When Chloe’s mom sets her up with a lie, Brent agrees to help her out by becoming her fake fiancé. In return, she promises to help him out. He’s a bit of a nerd, has a problem speaking when confronted with an attractive woman – namely Chloe – and is a virgin. What starts out for Chloe as a bit of fun soon turns into more but what if that isn’t what Brent wants?
I’m not a huge fan of beta heroes but Brent was so darn cute and perfect that I loved him from the very beginning. As it turns out, he might not be the instigator in this relationship because of his shyness, but he has a strong jealous, possessive streak that rose up at the perfect time and made me love him all the more. I absolutely adored him and the fact that what he feels towards Chloe is strong enough to make him overcome his insecurities sealed him in my favorite hero category.
Chloe has quite a bit more experience than Brent and I was initially uncertain how I felt about that. However, when her own insecurities are revealed, I immediately connected with her. Despite her own issues, she’s a strong and independent woman who is learning to stand up against judgement and pressure.
These two together were wonderful. I loved watching their relationship develop from roommates to friends to lovers. The steam between them was scorching and the heat level blasted me into a gooey pile of goodness. (Not like that…get your head out of the gutter!)
This wraps up this series and it is definitely the best of the three and can be read as a standalone.

It was a sweet read! The hero was beyond sweet... Sweet, shy, Quiet and 26 years old Virgin. The heroine was sassy, full of life and likes to have sex. Well the combination of two of them was quite something. It was short it but it was worth reading. If you want a simple and easy read then this book is perfect for a weekend afternoon.
Safety Issue:As I said the hero was a virgin. The heroine was obviously celibate after they got into a fake relationship. But before starting it, it was not quite clear if she slept with someone else or not because the author didn't mention anything specific.
P.S.I liked all of three heroes from this series without any doubt.... they are sweethearts.

I've enjoyed all the books in The Loft series and now we are at new roommates Chloe and Brent who enter into a fake relationship that get a little bit complicated.
Chloe's grandmother is dying of cancer and her mother has told Mima that Chloe is engaged, believing it will make her final days happier if she knows all her grandchildren are partnered up. Chloe is in a bind, not happy about what her mother has done or about lying to Mima, but agreeing to go along with the charade. She enlists the help of her relatively new roommate Brent, a shy lumberjack type fellow. In return for his help, she offers to work with him to get over his shyness and get comfortable with women, including helping him in the sex department as he is a virgin. But soon their fake relationship starts to feel like the real thing.
This is a sexy romance where we see both points of view and how their relationship progresses from friendship to more. Brent's had a crush on Chloe for ages but never told her, so it's a dream come true (sort of) when she wants him to pretend to be her fiance. And sex lessons with the girl of his dreams? Yes please!
They start out slow, working up to full intimacy and at every step, Chloe is clear to get consent from Brent before going further which I really appreciated seeing since I expect it in reverse situations too. The biggest problem is that neither wants to ruin what they have by telling each other that their feelings have changed, leading to the inevitable misunderstanding. In this case it's cleared up quickly and they get a real happy ending.
The secondary characters, Chloe's friends from previous books in the series make some appearances and it's a fitting end to the series. The cancer plotline is not dwelled on and doesn't bring down the overall light mood of the story. If you are looking for a sexy, enjoyable, relatively low angst read, I recommend this one, and the other books in The Loft series!

But the 15% I read was dull and a chore to read. Author didnt even try, she made the setup so easy and predictable. And the heroine was just so dense it made my teeth hurt.

Just three words for this.....cute, cute and oh so cute.
And really sweet too.
But short too :( and I want more depth for my books. The romance to be more developed and fleshed out.
I just wish the book was longer or if the epilogue was more into the future. And I don't particularly like the writing, it's a bit too simple so depends on your mood- if you are up for something simple, straightforward, cute, heartwarming with a very different type of hero, then this is the book for you.
Brent is not like the typical alpha male, manwhore, domineering romance hero at all. not even a bit. He's shy, quiet, really nice and a virgin! An all around nice guy. He's not really my type personally, although i love celibate, less experienced heroes, I prefer guys who more confident and I HATE beards. But I love roles being reversed. So I appreciated the fact that guy was the shy, blushing one! And It was hard not to love this guy who was so in awe of the heroine and so obviously adored her a lot! This is one of the reasons why I love virgin heroes! They are usually so grateful, humble and crazy for the heroine.
I had shelved this as both celibate after meeting each other because there was no OM/OW. But Brent and Chloe have already been room mates for months before the start of the book. Brent mentions once that she dates a lot, goes out with a guy few times and then moves on to the next one. So she must not have been celibate after meeting him. Unlike Brent, Chloe didn't feel an intimidate attraction for Brent and they only got to know each other well when the book opens. She was not with anyone else in the duration of the book.

This was probably a 3.5 star read because of all the dithering by both characters, and the writing was a little dry. But I’m happy leaving a 4 star because the hero was such a sweetheart, and the heroine was kind and very sexually confident. Quick light read.

Chloe is a very friendly character, but finds herself in a bit of a pickle when her mother tells Chloe's dying grandmother a fib that Chloe has gotten engaged. A fib that has Chloe asking a very shy and quiet Brent if he would pretend to be her fiancé and she will help him talk to girls and do much more.
As the pair grow closer together they learn more about each other and explore more than just kisses until they find that they want to be more than just friends.

I love this one. I like seeing the guy vulnerable. I think those are my favorite’s of Noelle’s. Sure, there is always the issue of lack of communication, and I get it. People are always afraid to leave themselves exposed. And there has to be some tension/conflict. The main characters didn’t spend the whole time angsting over their feelings without just being honest.

February 23, 2019I thought this was by another author duo and didn't realize until after I'd started it that it wasn't. If you like explicit love scenes and don't care if you like the characters or not, then pick this up. It's not my kind of read and has a ton of mature content.

Such a lovely feel good romance that felt very 'real'. There are lots if tastefully written steamy scenes and a cute, shy hero. 3.5 stars.

Ooh this was so cute! Brent is a complete sweetheart and their story develops very naturally from friends to lovers. I enjoyed the dual POV in this one too, this whole series has been great and it's nice to revisit old characters and see what they're up to while meeting and falling in love with new ones too.

Chloe works for a marketing department at her local university doing graphic design and she is a college student finishing up her coursework for her MFA degree in creative technologies, and she also lives with roommates in an apartment. Brent (her roommate, just recently moved in).
Chloe’s mom tells her dying grandmother (Mima is what Chloe calls her) that she has a fiancé, so Chloe asks Brent if he can fake being her fiancé until her Mima leaves town.
Brent has a crush on Chloe and is extremely shy around her, so when Chloe asks him, he tells her that he may not be the best person for the job. Chloe reassures him and then he agrees.
So while they are fake dating, Chloe finds out that Brent is a virgin (he’s 25, but because of his extreme shyness, he hasn’t gone all the way with a woman), and as a way of thanking him for him pretending to be her boyfriend, she tells Brent that she can help him with his virginity. They say it will just be casual. But the more they are around each other and making out, the more feelings Chloe starts to feel for Brent.
*I loved this book so much, you can feel the yearning these two had for each other. Brent was so extremely sweet and shy around Chloe, he was half in love with her at the beginning of this book, so the more time he is around her and they start doing foreplay, the more his heart swelled (as well as other things 😂😉), but I also loved how he thought of her. He thought she was attractive of course, but he also saw more than just her body. This man was totally smitten with her. As for Chloe, you could see that she lacked in confidence/self esteem, and she didn’t think that he would want her for more than just a bed partner (obviously she had some dudes in the past who didn’t want more than sex from her), and she had a mom who would put down her hair, her body, the way she dressed. I don’t think the mom meant it in a malicious way, but it still affected Chloe mentally (and I really wish her and her mom had a heart to heart, so it would have been better for their relationship). Both of these characters needed that constant reassurance and praise, once they got that confidence in themselves, they were able to explain their feelings towards each other.
Also can I say I love shy heroes and I wish more writers would write about heroes who have trouble verbally expressing themselves (not everyone is an extrovert and can communicate well verbally), so it was a breath of fresh air seeing a hero not be this “confident alpha male” that gets promoted a lot in romance novels. I want me some more nerdy introvert guys*

This is the last book of the series and I have enjoyed this series despite it having some things which I didn't like. In the last book the story is about faking a relationship. This trope is majorly founded on concept of lying to people close to you which can be very tricky to get right otherwise it can be just plain douche-y story and it's not like I don't like this trope. I like it just fine but I personally think that there should be a strong reason to start the fake relationship otherwise it won't work. However this book is something which I liked. I liked how the relation starts and the fake part is just like a kick-start for the main leads to come together and get to know each other. The story does not loose it's lightness despite the mention of cancer as the part of the story.
Both the main leads were very good and suited each other well. Their relationship never felt forced. The story progressed between the main leads in a manner which was quick but not instant, though it's love at first sight for our hero. What I disliked in this book is the mother of the heroine, she is not a good mother and is always complaining about how Chloe is not like her other sisters, which really bothered me.
This book is good for a quick read. The story is pretty predictable and has lots of cliches but can be still enjoyed. The ending of the book is not dragged out and it is something which I liked, the ending of the series is also quite fitting to how the series started. Disappointing.
Storylines are often repeated because readers love them and this one with a 25-year-old no experienced shy nice guy doesn't escape falling into that category. What is does escape is being a fun, humourous or even cute novel. A good dose of humour might have saved it but as is, it was boring. Chloe's 'favour' exchange was written in a juvenile style just as was their 'time' spent together. If there was any redemption, Chloe's confidence was an act and her sexual experience was from wanting to be loved. The mention of Brent's beard appeared too often for me to enjoy his character. (Shallow? I hate beards and this book won't let me fantasize my own image of the hero...tehe). Lastly, when I found this novel on this list https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/3..., that really annoyed me. If Archer's Voice by Mia Sheridan top rating can only be 5 stars then this one can only be 1 star. (Okay, I am in a bad mood so I will add another star but I won't need to rate anymore of Ms. Adams novels because I have removed them from my 'want to read' shelf).

I have really enjoyed this series, and this just might be my favorite installment! I just loved Chloe and Brent. Chloe is a friendly, warm, and vibrant character. She is also easy to relate to because she feels like she isn't living up to her mother's expectations. Brent is very shy and has trouble speaking to girls he finds attractive. I really liked the sections form his POV and loved getting to know what he was actually thinking behind his gestures and few words. He really is such a sweet hero, and he and Chloe are well matched. The plot was interesting and didn't feel forced. I thought the epilogue was a nice close to the series, although I will admit I was hoping to check in with Chloe and Brant a little farther down the road. But I'm greedy like that :) 5 stars for a great conclusion to a fun series!

Probably the quickest that I've read a book :) Such a cute story, I loved the vulnerability of the hero (he's a virgin). The author did a great job writing him as a shy, quiet guy - but not coming off as a dork.
I would have loved to have seen them in more social situations though showing them have to pretend to be engaged, go thru the awkwardness of holding hands, kissing, etc.
I love how each Noelle Adams book that I have read so far, all explain at some point in each book a character getting a water bottle from the fridge and also where a character drops their purse/bag as they walk in the front door :)
And true to character, Noelle Adams does a beautiful job with the ending, as her characters always have a touching scene where they admit their love for each other. It's always so heartfelt.

I love how each Noelle Adams book that I have read so far, all explain at some point in each book a character getting a water bottle from the fridge and also where a character drops their purse/bag as they walk in the front door :)
And true to character, Noelle Adams does a beautiful job with the ending, as her characters always have a touching scene where they admit their love for each other. It's always so heartfelt.

I just love this series!
Chloe is a sweet girl that had a rough couple of years... She lost her job and had to leave the loft she shared with her best friends to live back with her parents. Now she is having a break, got a new job and is back at the loft. But she has a new roommate, Brent!
He is a lumberjack type of guy, but really nerdy and sweet.
A bit of introvert, Brent has difficulties to talk to girls and is still a virgin.
Chloe is in a bit of a mess because of her mother's expectations and needs a fake fiance to present to her grandmother. Brent is the perfect choice and their relationship is so sweet, sexy and absolutely a joy to read.
I love Noelle Adams and her style of writing. This is just good reading and the book is wonderful.

2.5 stars…
A letdown after reading the first book in the series. Both characters were likeable, the build up in the relationship was nice, but it fell flat because it all just came down to a ridiculous miscommunication. They both want more but don’t want to scare the other person with their feelings…when their feelings are pretty obvious anyway.
Also strange that the whole premise was a fake relationship for her dear terminally-ill grandmother…and this ended with barely a sentence mentioning her grandmother dying. It was just strange and didn’t fit at all. Same goes for her rude mother - no closure, no final scene, just stopped existing.

November 17, 2023I wanted to finish this so badly, but it was just taking me forever to get through so I'm officially putting in on pause. Overall, this book is just not for me. I almost felt like I was too old to read this book bc even though the characters were only a few years younger than me they felt like high schoolers. I personally didn't feel the chemistry at all (which kills me to say bc this author is amazing at creating chemistry between her characters), and as much as I love a fake dating situation, this had to be one of the dumbest fake dating story lines. I adore this author so I might try to pick it up again at another time, but atm, it's just not working for me. dnf around 40%

would’ve rated this 4 stars if chloe isn’t as dumb as she was made to be. seriously, after all that heartfelt words brent said to mima, she still hadn’t gotten the point? this time the men aren’t the dumb ones. it’s totally the women in the series (except jill, where lucas WAS the epitome of men are dumb before he came to his senses).
anyway, it’s bittersweet to end this series. kinda sad that no one kept the loft. i loved the loft T-T oh and it feels like a little bit of new girl vibe here.

Chloe was put in a difficult situation and asks her roommate Brent for help. Chloe doesn't realize that Brent likes her. Once Chloe starts getting to know Brent she realizes what a great guy he is. These two both have doubts about themselves, but it takes Chloe's grandmother and her other roommates to help her and Brent see how things really are. This book had some really HOT scenes and I couldn't put it down!! Another great series!

I loved this book! I can always count on Ms. Adams for a wonderful read. I adored Brent. His shyness, gruffness, and his realness. I loved Chloe, and the fact that she wanted to win him over without realizing that he’s so shy around her because he secretly loves her. This had so many wonderful moments, and I cried several times toward the end because I could empathize with Chloe so strongly. And that conversation with her grandma… 😭! So good, so sexy, so everything I needed today.

Short and sweet is the best way to describe this book. Both characters were so likeable and the MMC was literally to die for with his shy demeanor. As he opens up more throughout the book we get to see how amazingly patient, understanding and ABSOLUTLEY BESOTTED he is with the fmc . The fmc is understanding and easy going, I loved how she took charge of the relatinship and never felt odd "wearing the pants" or just leading the way I guess. Overall solid book would def reccoment.

this was exactly what I was in the mood for and exactly what I expected based on the blurb (and on the fact that I've read this author's work before). novella length, not much depth, but a nice story and a nice build up between Chloe and Brent without a huge amount of over the top drama/misunderstandings. a comfort read for sure.

This was a fast, entertaining read. The story was fun and it was interesting to see the roles reversed with the characters (the female more experienced than the male). It was nice to see all the couples from this series all wrapped up, but I had hoped for more development for these two characters. If you enjoy Noelle Adams, you will definitely enjoy reading this series all the way through.
