A one night stand turns into an inconvenient love affair that threatens both their careers. Mila has been hurt by a cheating fiancé and needs a fresh start, Matt has been deceived by a lying puck bunny with a hidden agenda. Can they let go of their baggage and find each other again?
I began reading romance novels in 2019 and became instantly hooked. I was inspired to write my own during the 2020 lockdown and first self-published on Wattpad. With the help of Instagram, I gained a loyal following and eventually secured a publishing contract with 4Horsemen Publications. I am a recent but enthusiastic follower of the Dallas Stars Ice Hockey team and in particular the delicious Tyler Seguin. My Seattle Whalers hockey romance series has a loyal following on Instagram and I intend to keep writing about my crazy gang for as long as the readers want them. I love an espresso martini, dirty-talking alpha heroes with tattoos and a lazy Sunday breakfast. "It will always be all or nothing with us." I started this series out of order, and read book 3 first. Now I've gone back to check out the other Whalers couples, and I'm not sorry. Matt and Mila are a full-on chemistry, sizzling hot couple, and I loved them both.
"Don't make me kidnap you. Although that could be quite hot." Matt and Mila are both coming to work for the Whalers, but they don't know it. They hook up for one night at the hotel where they're both staying, and it was supposed to be just that. One night. Until they find out he's a new star player and she's the new assistant to the coach. They shouldn't get involved, it shouldn't happen, it should all stay in the past, but the night they shared is very present for the both of them.
They try to fight it, and pretend like it doesn't matter. They try to forget about it, and maybe be friends. But the sparks we get with them just glancing at each other across the room can melt an ice rink.
"I mean, we agreed to be friends. This isn't friendly." "You're sitting on my cock. It feels pretty friendly to me." Matt is possessive and protective, and has a wonderful dirty mouth on him. Mila is a firecracker, strong and sassy, comfortable in her own skin, and gives as good as she gets. The sex scenes are insanely hot, and very visual. The hockey games and descriptions will make you feel like you're there. The swoony moments – and there are quite a few of those – had me wanting to find myself a hockey player. The feelings between them will just make you feel giddy, because Matt... damn. Their friends, and the other hockey players, are supportive and all-around pretty great, which only adds to the atmosphere of the book. Even the drama closer to the end was well written, and wasn't drawn out.
"I love you, Mila. I mean head over heels, fly halfway across the country to find you, deeply and completely in love with you." If you're into sports romance, hockey romance in particular, and looking to find a low-angst, lovers-to-friends-to-lovers-again romance that is easy to read and will pull you in, I think you may have found it. Matt and Mila would always have to be all or nothing – anything else just wouldn't do! Can't wait to read Beth and Nate's story now!
A beautiful love story where the characters felt real and the storyline sucked you in from the first chapter.
I’ve never read a love story that centred around athletes and in this case Ice Hockey. It’s clear to see that the author Emily Bunney knows her stuff when it’s comes to this genre, her descriptive writing was second to none and it was so easy to imagine yourself right there in the heart of the story. Matt the Insanely hot hockey player and Mila the sexy sassy executive assistant, have an undeniable chemistry from the off and I couldn’t wait to see how their story unfolded. A gorgeous, funny and hot sexy romance that kept me interested throughout. It is hard to believe this book is Emily’s debut novel, it was an absolute joy to read! I was given an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I devoured it in a little over a day, only because a girls gotta get a little sleepy. I didn’t want to put it down! What’s not to love about this book?!?! Sexy, dirty talking, alpha hockey player - Triple ✔️ Sassy, down to earth chic ✔️ Plenty of angst and hot steaminess ✔️ Mila and Matt’s chemistry is almost tangible! Some get you in the feels moments ✔️ Some seriously hilarious LOL moments ✔️ Like I literally laughed out loud!
Definitely a great read and I highly recommend it! It was a perfect book to start off the new year! Emily definitely started out with a bang! So, glad that I stumbled upon this new author and was fortunate enough to get an ARC copy. I am absolutely looking forward to the rest of this series!
I loved the story, it had me laughing, it had me glue to the pages at their intimacy 😁. I’m a hockey girl and stories by my favorite authors that are hockey love stones even better. Matt n Mila are similar in aspects of the heart and trust. They both have had their hearts trampled so of course putting that kind of faith in one person is not easy. The characters fit together like the puck n stick. It’s an easy read but it’s fun at the same time. I can’t wait for the next book.
Thank you to Emily Bunney for allowing me to read a copy of this book. This book was so much fun to read. I loved Mila and Matt's relationship, and their dynamic. And I loved how the games were a main focus of the story. If I were to give something to critique, it would be the way that the story ended. I saw it coming, but at the same time, it made me almost roll my eyes. I'm invested in this series and this couple. And I am in love with the following couple already, especially after that epilogue. I can't wait to continue with All the Way.
HAPPY RELEASE DAY! You’re not ready for these two, they melt the whole damn arena!
“You’re coming home with me” “I can’t” “It isn’t a fucking request, Red” 🔥
This hockey romance has it all: steam, laugh, heart and swoon worthy moments!
I just finished my ARC read of this. *will update review upon book release*
I finished it in hours, I couldn’t put it down. It starts off with a bang (literally) Matt & Mila’s chemistry is sizzling. She has a smart mouth and he has a dirty tongue!
This hockey romance has everything I love about a sports romance!
5 stars for this amazing Sport-Romance. The author created 2 characters you immediately connect with and a plot that keeps you glued to the book till the end. Mila and Matt are explosive together, a night meant to be just a one-night stand shows there could be so much more between them, but they both are at a turning point with their life so there's nothing they can do than leave that night behind them and go ahead with their life. But destiny has other plans for them and their paths are going to cross again, being Matt the new player for the Whalers Hockey team and Mila the new Coach's assistant. Friendship, attraction, passion, heat, love, troubles and unexpected events are all going to appear in this beautiful story, while Mila and Matt learn how to navigate in their new life and how to deal with these new strong and powerful feeling they both feel for each others. I loved Mila and Matt's backgrounds, their past, their souls, their scars and how they try to build their new life, everything is described perfectly. I loved how Matt is focused on Mila, how he's head over heels for her since the beginning and that he has eyes only for her. I loved how strong and sweet is Mila, she is a perfect heroine. Everything seemed so real that I had the feeling of living with them while reading. I also loved the Hockey world the author created, she did an amazing job, the Whalers Hockey team and all the players, the secondary characters that have all an important role in this story and that I can't wait to read more about!! This is definitely one of my top reads of 2021 and I highly recommend it. I received an ARC from the author for an honest review.
Emily Bunney wins with her debut novel. The chemistry between uber sexy hockey god Matt and extremely sassy executive assistant Mila was off the charts right from the beginning. So I read this book in one sitting and fell in love with these wonderful characters. A steamy, witty, and very enjoyable hockey romance. I can't wait for more books in the series.
This is a one night stand with instant chemistry sports romance but both have been hurt by ex’s, it’s hard to trust and just let go one night that both cannot forget.
When they bump into each other again which comes to a complete shock to both, the chemistry is still there oh and you feel it but Mila abides by her boss the coach of the teams rule, don’t sleep with any of the players. But does that rule matter if she’s already slept with him. I love how sassy mila is and even though she has these feelings for him and can’t stop thinking about the one night they were together, she still doesn’t give in.
The more Matt shows the real side which is sweet and down to earth, the more Mila’s walls come down. Both hold pasts but when one comes crashing in their laps will it ruin what they built. This book has all the feels, I laughed, swooned, fanned myself a lot, I kept fighting for them, my heart broke but was left with a content smile. The ending though wow I cannot wait to read the rest of the series, it has me very intrigued.
I received this as an arc to give an honest opinion and congratulate Emily for a beautifully written debut book.
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I read this. This is my first book by Emily Bunney. It won’t be my last. This was a great book. It starts off with a bang. The characters have this instant, intense chemistry that you can feel. Mila is a new assistant to a hockey coach and Matt is their new all-star player. The coach has rules about assistants and players, and Mila wants to respect them. She’s been burned in the past and doesn’t want it to happen again. Matt and Mila get a surprise when they realize they’ll be working closely together. They try to fight their feelings for one another and agree to remain as friends. But being friends is harder than they think. I loved how sassy Mila was and how sexy and loveable Matt was. They burned the pages with their chemistry, the sex scenes were hot and the story was fantastic. It drew me in from the first page and I devoured it. I can’t wait for the rest of the series. I’d love to see Bugs and Cam get a story.
I won an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was a great sports romance where Matt and Mila were supposed to be one-night of steamy, mind blowing sex. That took a turn when a month later they realize they are both a part of the same NHL organization.
Both have heartbreaking romance pasts that have they both closed off and NOT looking for love. This book has a little bit of everything: intense sexual tension, sexy banter and teasing, hot hockey players, sassy office babes, and spicy sex scenes. What more could you ask for?
Emily did an amazing job with creating to captivating characters that quickly draw you in to be invested in their story and it’s outcome. There was a perfect mix of actual hockey sprinkled in - which I loved! I was emotionally invested from the first chapter.
Emily also did an amazing job of sprinkling in side characters that will have their own stories later in the series. I am excited for Beth and Nate’s turn and to follow along with this entire series as it comes out.
If you like it sweet and spicy, read this book! I got all the feels, every where. 😈
Mila, new assistant to a hockey coach in Seattle with a rough past between a not so loving mom and a cheating fiance find love when she least expected it. Matt, all star hockey player, ladies man, meets a woman in a bar one night while he's in Seattle for trade. Little did he know this woman would change his life.
Mila and Matt spend alot of time trying to fight what they really are feeling for each other after a chance encounter and realizing they will be working together!!
Emily Bunney writes a super sweet romance with all the panty dropping sex scenes you can handle.
Wow honestly I wasn't sure what to expect when reading this book but i was pleasantly surprised to find it was funny so freaking sexy and of course all about Hockey. Love the sexual chemistry with Mila and Matt. Matt is all alpha on the ice gah and Mila is so sassy and sexy and smart. I caught myself laughing so much during this read. The sexy times were so sexy and the kiddo in this book was so adorable. 😍😩 Great storyline and great writing. I loved being able to get the hero on the ice and his thoughts while playing the game and during his practices not many authors show us those scenes(which are my fav). Can't wait to see more of the other potential characters. Cam and Bugs and Nate and Beth maybe!? hopefully?! Please 🙏
Great Story. This is the first story I've read from Bunney and i wasnt disappointed. Well written and brilliant descriptions of the hockey scenes. Sports Tropes aren't usually my thing but i loved this one. Matt and Mila have a one stand unknowingly knowing who each other are. They end up working in close proximity to each other and fight their attraction. The past effects them in crappy ways too. This is a slow burn sports romance which made me read it one sitting and the spice scenes were HOT!!!! I'd definitely recommend to other readers.
All or Nothing is my first book by this author. Well written and edited, I found it to be one of those feel-good stories that makes you smile throughout.
Although not necessary, I do think that being even remotely interested in sports in general is a good idea when reading this, as it is heavy on the hockey. Unfortunately for me, I'm not a fan of sports at all, so although in no way off-putting, I found myself a little less interested when reading the hockey parts. This is absolutely no fault at all of the author's, just my own preferences - and I did choose to read a sports romance!
The characters are fantastic, the author did a great job of bringing them to life. The story was good and flowed well, and although some things were a little predictable, I enjoyed reading it and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a sweet, steamy sports read.
It had the perfect ratio of romance, sports, and friendship. I loved the chemistry between Matt and Mila and also that they both took their respective careers seriously. I also liked that the conflict wasn’t too over the top or dramatic, as well as the friendships formed between the guys and the gals; you could really feel the closeness between Mila and her girlfriends and Matt and his new teammates.
First time reading Emily Bunney books and it won’t be the last. All or nothing has everything you need for a sports romance the main characters have chemistry and there a few lol moments with side characters. I loved the fact that Emily involved the game in her as so many author just side step it. I’m hoping the rest of the series we see how things are with Emily and Matt.4 1/2⭐️
All or Nothing is a powerful first novel by Emily Bunney that grips you from start to finish.
The plot centres on the heart warming relationship between Mila and Matt and is set in the world of hockey. It is obvious that the author knows her stuff when it comes to the subjects mentioned and uses it to create a wonderful storyline.
It is a highly entertaining read that is well written, fast paced and full of hot, steamy scenes that will give you all the feels.
I definitely recommend adding this to your collection and can honestly say that the only thing I disliked about it was that it ended.
This book was gifted to me as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Loved this book! From the beginning this story pulls you in. The characters and storyline are real and make you want things to work out for them. Also, if you love romance books that involve athletes, I highly recommend this one. Matt and Mila have a fast paced love story that keeps you engaged and interested on what is going to happen next for them.
* Thank you to Emily Bunney for the ARC * I absolutely loved this story - I thought the chemistry between the two main characters was not only passionate but fun. I definitely finished this book wondering, “what are they doing now?” Hoping to see these characters again.
What a good start to a new author (to me) & series!! I really enjoyed this story & the writing. Matt & Mila were a great couple. I'm not a big fan of OW drama & I was happy to see that while of course there was some, it wasn't the meat of the story. This couple grew together and eventually got past the drama that threatened them!!
This is a well written hockey romance with strong characters in Mila and Matt. The author takes you into their lives with a one night stand, surprises, rules and heat. She moves the story fluidly with her descriptive scenes and delivers a great start to a new series. Loved it!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and are freely given.
A beautiful love story and wonderful characters that suck you right in from the start. Loved Mila and Matt. Mila is in Seattle for a job interview and Matt is in town to talk about a trade, they meet at the hotel bar and hook up never expecting to see each other again. Both characters still think about that night weeks later and then find out they both work at the same place. There is an instant connection and attraction to each other but Mila is nursing a broken heart after her breakup with her fiance and since they work together she's not ready to risk it and offers Matt friendship. But every once in a while lines are crossed. I really enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more about the other characters.
I received an ARC and volunteered to leave a review.
Emily Bunney has been on my TBR for a while, but I never got to reading her books. I was so enthusiastic when I discovered the first book in the Seattle Whalers Hockey Series, All Or Nothing was available on audio. It's narrated by Jeremy Bartelt, who I have never listened to before, so it was perfect for Audiobook Thursday.
I have to admit, going into this story, I was nervous. Hockey isn't a known sport here in Belgium, so I know nothing about it and thought I wouldn't understand that aspect of the book. I didn't have any reason to be nervous, the hockey aspect was well written for someone like me to understand.
Matt and Mila are easy to connect with and are explosive from the first page. There was so much chemistry and passion between this couple. Matt is a hot, dirty-talking hockey player. I loved how he went after Mila from the start and how focused he was on her. He was so sweet and caring once he showed his true colors. Mila was just the biggest sweetheart with a sassy and naughty side, I loved her. They are both hurt in the past but can they overcome the past trauma, or will it come between them?
Damn, Emily Bunney knows how to write a sex scene, and she jumps into it from the start. There are multiple scenes in the book, and they all are well built, descriptive, and will make you want to rip Matt out of this book.
I liked how much of an important role the side characters had in this story. The author already started to pave the way for their own story.
All or nothing has a good storyline that is well-written. It's a fast-paced story with some angsty, funny, swoony moments, sexy banter, tension, and did I mention the hot hockey players?
The story is in dual pov, but there is only a male narrator. I think it would have been better if it was a dual narration. Jeremy Bartelt has a pleasant deep voice. Sometimes it sounded too much like he was literally reading from a sheet. I liked how consistent he was in the voices of all the characters, which were also very well done.
For lovers of a spicy slow burn, sports romance, this is the perfect audiobook. I can't wait to listen to the second audiobook that will be available soon.
All or Nothing is a well-edited and sweet debut from Emily Bunney. This hockey romance tells the tale of Matt and Mila who experience a serendipitous moment when they least expect it following disastrous previous relationships and downright toxic ex partners. What appeared to be a one night thing soon becomes something else entirely when they’re thrown back together unexpectedly. Will secrets and pasts bring them together or pull them further apart?
Full disclosure, I’m not much of a sports romance reader or fan and I know nothing about hockey but I did find this a really enjoyable read. Both Matt and Mila are really likable characters, they’re adorable together and their chemistry jumps off the page. There were a couple of twists and turns and bumps in the road that, whilst a touch predictable, kept me invested and added dimension to the book. One of my favourite elements of this book was the secondary characters and their involvement. I can’t wait to learn more about Bugs, Nate, Thor and the rest of the Seattle Whalers team in future books.
I’m not sure I could do it with a regular guy, let alone a hot as hell, millionaire hockey superstar. He had the potential to obliterate my heart, not just trample it. I’m an all or nothing kind of girl.
The author is clearly passionate about hockey and she sure knows her stuff! If you love hockey, this one is definitely for you. If, like me, you don’t know much about hockey, you’ll certainly learn more about the sport by reading this book. Also, who doesn’t love a nice romance with gorgeous book boyfriends and plenty of heat?
I love you, Mila. I mean head over heels, fly halfway across the country to find you, deeply and completely in love with you.
If you’re looking for a light-hearted (mostly) sports read with gorgeous hockey players who are also real sweethearts (for the most part) grab All or Nothing – you won’t be disappointed.
“All Or Nothing” - Seattle Whalers Hockey Romance by Emily Bunney
“All or Nothing” is a Hockey Sport-Romance story that I was not expecting to fall into my lap. It was definitely a TOTAL “HAT TRICK!” 😉 ✅Both main characters were hot and sexy AF both inside and outside the bedroom! ✅Matt and Mila have majorly angst and steamy moments! ✅So many funny and “feels” moments! Loved it!
This book starts off as a one night stand between Matt and Mila. Not giving one another any information except their first names only leads them to wonder about “what if” they had exchanged numbers?
Matt an NHL player and Mila the new assistant to the coach. Need I say more?? 😉😉❤️❤️
Both Matt and Mila move to a new city to start new jobs and escape terrible relationships. Relationships which left them both VERY jaded and neither one of them looking to jump into anything anytime soon. Until that one night!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Going their separate ways at the end of the night doesn’t mean they don’t think about one another and how amazing that one encounter was. Until they come face to face once again. 😳
Will they recognize one another? Will the intense chemistry still be there? Will they pick up where they left off? Or will they keep it strictly professional? I’m definitely not going to give you any answers. You must read this book and discover it yourself! This book was a one sit read that kept me turning the pages from page one.
“All or Nothing” by Emily Bunney recently celebrated its one year anniversary! She is a new author for me and I was not disappointed. You must put this on your TBR list. I’m looking forward to reading more of her books!
This is one HOT hockey romance that definitely SOCRES!!
A one night stand turns into an inconvenient love affair that threatens both their careers. Mila has been hurt by a cheating fiancé and needs a fresh start, Matt has been deceived by a lying puck bunny with a hidden agenda. Can they let go of their baggage and find each other again?
This was such a fun and entertaining read! From beginning to end it had the the perfect blend humor, witty banter, and smoking hot sexy times to keep those pages turning! Matt and Mila's explosive chemistry light up each and every page. I also loved the authors attention to detail regarding the hockey aspect. It felt as though I was actually at a live game!
This is a story that will hook you from the start. Matt and Mila are such an endearing couple and you'll be cheering them on the journey to their HEA!
I you love a good sports romance with plenty of heat and a whole lot of heart, definitely check out this one! You'll be glad you did! 😘
*I was generously given an ARC copy of this book by the author for an honest review *
Mila and Matt spend one night together and exchanged only minimal information. Both were in Seattle looking to start over with new jobs. It isn't until later they realize they are both working for the same NHL team. Mila is the coach's new assistant and Matt was just traded to the team.
I thought the characters were interesting, especially Mila. Since I don't know much about hockey it was fun learning things and getting to know the team through her. Mila and Matt had a lot of chemistry, even when they weren't sure if a relationship between them would work. I liked, too, that there were other characters introduced whose stories I am looking forward to reading.
The one thing that threw me occasionally was when the perspective would change in the middle of a scene. There was occasionally the same moments/events covered from both characters but that wasn't too often.
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.
