Wicked Water is a ‘why choose’ book in which the heroine gets all of her guys. It has mature content, and no cheating. This four-book series takes place in the Dark Wing world with a HEA.

10 Mer-Action Stars⭐ A Fantasy Reverse-Harem Romance with A great world building, Mermaids, Mermen, Wolves, Dragons, New Tech, Danger, Mysteries, Sexy times, Angst, Ups-Downs, Choices, Mates, Action, Love & a mighty Fine Cliffhanger! Melody, Harrison, Axel, Ryker, Taylor are all awesome (though I'm not sure Taylor will be her mate or not?). We get Multiple POVS; This was sort of Sexy Slowburn but I'm so glad that Axel & Harry mated with her here. DEVOURED this in 6hrs. #My 1st by Ellie & Surely going for more!
In this world, the Humans Know about Shifters, but not about other PNR species. This was my 1st Mermaid romance in ages & I had so much! The mer-people have advanced tech & Islands that they call home away from Prying eyes. I'm a little embarrassed that It took me more than 20days after Reading this book to come back & Review it...But now, here it is!
Melody; Sweet & Curious; is a Mermaid Princess. Mermaids have pods with Multiple Mates..& Her family is very protective of her. She's never been outside of their Islands, not even for studies...& Her time to Start a pod is close.
Harrison; Charming & Caring; is Melody's childhood friend & a merman. He'd gone outside to Boston for college (Doctorate of Mathematics!😍). Everyone thinks that Harry will be Mel's 1st podmate, but Melody doesn't want to change their Friendship...But when Dangers close in, they're alone & Attraction is skyrocketing, they end up Crossing the line!
I loved the Action & Suspense in this book which was Edgy from the start! Plus, all the characters are so diverse...Adored the Friends! When someone targets Melody for Reasons unknown, Her family sends her with Harrison for Safety. This journey isn't easy at all, with lots of Eye-Openers for Mel! ~Harry & Wants, The Kiss, Home-No home, Adventure, Hotels & Cabin, Sexy times, Fights, Safe (or not?)...
Finally In Boston, They meet Ryker; Growly & Alpha; The Dragon bodyguard which Mel's Parents Appointed. When it's evident that the dangers have come after them, They go to Harrison's Friend Axel's home. Axel; Fun & Protective; is a Wolf shifter. He gives them a place to stay...but things soon become a lot more interesting, dramatic, Action-Packed & FUN! As its found that Melody is both Axel & Ryker's Fated mate...But shifters don't share!
As Dangers still come, Melody Fusses with this personal stuff. Starting a pod couldn't be more confusing, but Axel didn't have an easy childhood so him being her 1st podmate felt right...But my heart hurted for Harry. Mermen don't feel Jealousy But he does, what if Her pod doesn't have a place for him? She's all he has ever wanted... & Elsewhere, Ryker is just ignoring his desire *Snicker*. ~Awkward, Fated Mate, Naked Times (Vouyer!), Almost 3some, Mated, Sad for Harrison, Cold & Snow, Skates & Fighting it out, The Siren's Song, Taylor & Home...
As She gets to Explore more of the outside & Axel+Harry fight their Envy out; We meet Harry's Other College friend Taylor Rebel & Playboy; who is also a Merman. His 1st reaction to Mel is fun! The later scenes are so Heart-aching & Racing! ~Some Chaos; With the Forbidden Siren song, Harry's Feelings finally put into Perspective for Mel; Attack & Saving H's innocent Friend Anna, The Plan & showdown, Harry+Mel making up, Harry's her 2nd Podmate *Yay!!*, Action, Safe & Loved..!
We get an HFN Cliffhanger Ending. So much we found, so much still to be found. Is Anna safe? Why is Melody being attacked? Is a New Mer-people group out there? I'm so excited for the next part!! **ARC Received for a Honest Review.** FB Page | Instagram | Bookbub | FB group
I want to start by saying that the story and the subject were really solid and interesting, and I loved the idea. A mermaid running for her life due to an unknown plot against her and her family? Pretty cool, right? And I liked it, I really did love the story and the plot. What didn't work was the execution. The characters were all over the place with their moods, there were continuity errors galore, and the flow of the story was, at times, choppy and confusing. A few times I caught the same scene stitched in random places and it almost felt like the story was being reworked but no one went back and cleaned up what had been edited or rearranged. I also really didn't like the heroine, who, while I understand was supposed to be kind of naive, was still 27 years old and yet completely immature and irresponsible with the feelings of others. She actually enraged me a few times because of how weirdly selfish and uncommunicative she was being.
I really wanted to like this one. Like I said, I loved the idea for the story, really loved that it was multiple POV, and didn't hate what was happening. I just wish it was a little less messy and more well thought out and executed. Luckily for me, while it is kind of a cliffhanger, it's still a HFN and I can just kind of ...stop.
Wicked Water is a paranormal, reverse harem romance that held my interest until the end. This was my first mermaid romance and I enjoyed it. The author did a good job with world building and introducing us to the various characters. Apart from Mermaids and mermens we got a dragon shifter and a wolf shifter. I liked all the characters but I will admit Melody did annoy a bit with how she went about dealing with certain things. The story was fast paced and filled with action, adventure, drama, romance and suspense. This is the first book in the series and the story ends in a little bit of a cliff hanger. I can't wait for the second book to see what the author has in store for us. I would highly recommend this novel to lovers of paranormal romance.
DNF@36% p107/296 Chapter 12(Harrison) Alright. So. I’m just not jiving with the writing here. There’s just, like random sentences that don’t really feel like they belong every other paragraph. And it’s just hard to get my brain to actually process anything it’s reading because it’s constantly trying to figure those random tidbits out. 🤷🏻♀️ Maybe I’m just dumb(✨maybe✨😂)
This series was wild and not in a good way. Be patient while I sort through my thoughts on the series. Maybe some minor spoilers below, but nothing major.
Like I don’t even know where to start.
Harrison is described as having blue eyes, but in the next paragraph he has green? This kind of inconsistency is really common throughout the entire series.
Melody has to be one of the most self centered and narcissistic FMCs I’ve ever read. The entire arc between her, Axel, and Harrison was…idk. Unnecessary, all because she was selfish and narcissistic. Messy, messy, messy.
Ryker is, similarly, one of the worst MMCs I’ve ever read. Out of 4 books, he acts like a complete asshole for 80% of the 4 books. As in 80% over the complete series. For a mere 20%, he’s okay for the most part, but never really considers any of the characters as trustworthy and his actions put them in danger nonstop. Again, another self serving character.
Don’t get me started on his nonsense with Gisselle.
Melody is supposed to rule, but none of her parents actually teach her anything about ruling.
This series was a mess. Graham and Taylor were the most likable characters and there wasn’t enough page time for either of them.
Ellie Pond’s first book in her new series ‘Enchanted Elements’, is making big waves. The series title really shows all the elements of emotions. It spans the whole spectrum from happy to sad, fear to contentment, surety to questionable and so forth. A mermaid named Melody, the main character, is in danger and is sent to the United States for protection. She is at the age when she starts forming her own pod which usually consists of at least four males. The adventures she encounters along the way are anything but boring. I really enjoyed this book and had trouble putting it down. I can’t wait for the next book in this series. Highly recommended and definitely a MUST read!
this book is amazing, the author knows just the right way drag you to the storyline without you even realising. I couldn't put it down, I would recommend this to everyone
A mermaid on the run...she was running to save her life. Didn’t think he’d also end up running to love. I have to say that this book was really fun to read. It took a spin on the mermaid myths and underwater worlds and tried to spin it in such a way to fit into a modern world. The drama is great and keeps to the main point: a mermaid princess is on the run. Everything else plays second fiddle to that main point. It’s been a while since I’ve read a mermaid boom and I’m happy that I picked up this one. If you want to read my full thoughts on the book, check out the blog post that I did for the book!

This is a new author to me and I definitely will be reading more from her!! The characters were well thought out and developed and the storyline had suspense and intrigue. Melody is a mermaid Princess but the peaceful waters of her homeland are not so peaceful anymore and all this drama before she can start a pod of her own. Harrison and her have been friends since they were tadpoles. At college he never stops thinking about her and hopes that she will take him into her pod but before than can even discuss it she is whisked away because there is a plot to kidnap her. Harry and Melody swim for their lives. They finally make it to Boston they are met by Melody‘s bodyguard Ryker, a dragon shifter. He is smoking hot, pun intended, and Melody wants to add him to her pod but he is a big jerk. Then Harry introduces her to Axle a wolf Shifter and she wants to make him one of her pod also. Ryker and Axel fall for Melody really fast but Ryker is fighting his dragon’s need to meet with her because he doesn’t want to share. Will Melody add Ryker to her pod? She already has two and then two more to go. I guess we will find out in the next installment.
This is a very good paranormal RH romance with a lot of mysterious happenings and attacks that no one in the mer community understands. The main plot of this part of the series is to protect the princess. I liked that the story moved quickly, but occasionally it felt a bit repetitive since I wanted more romance and less fighting. I did like the characters development and how well they fit together despite being so different and individual from each other. I liked Melody's relationship with her parents and friends. She did not come across as a stuck-up snob, but as a truly nice, smart, and strong woman. Over all very nice story.

Can’t wait for the next book. This book was adventurous and had great chemistry! The main character is nice to a fault as she almost loses her tried and true friend to gain the confidence of another. But in the end it all turns well. Loved this read and was drawn in from the beginning.
A very interesting read. I didn’t think I’d enjoy a book like this, but it was very good. I honestly can’t wait for the next one to come out. I’m very intrigued. The author did a fabulous job at grabbing the reading. Talk about a hook, line, and sinker.
I was not disappointed with this book. I stumbled across it when looking into different paranormal romance worlds, found Dark Commander, and fell in love immediately! I then went on to read the entire series in 1 sitting 😅
I was sent a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review. Melody is a mermaid princess. She is forced to leave her world and her family because she is in danger. Her best friend Harrison is asked by her parents to be her bodyguard and she is sent on land, where she is immediately stunned by how different life is here. The traffic, the crowds, the technology. Even the clothes. But most of all she is cold - because she's in Boston and it's winter. Her little security group is expanded by Axel, a wolf shifter, Taylor and an enormous dragon shifter. All of these guys are her fated mates, so she has to convince them to join her pod, but she's still real new to all this love stuff, so she makes mistakes that could cost the group their lives. Those after her keep coming so how will she get away, stay hidden, stay safe, create her pod, and do everything as well to keep the guys from fighting. I'm really looking forward to the next book in the series. Highly recommended read.
I am brand new to this author, I was engaged from the start. The personalities were so perfect for one another, and I am very much looking forward to the rest of the series! I love that Melody is fierce and independent, Harry was so loving and affectionate! I will say, I have a bias for dragons, so OBVIOUSLY, Ryker.. swoon. Will absolutely be continuing with this series!
Wicked Water left me feeling a bit tepid. In general, the plot was interesting. A mermaid princess is attacked by hostile mermen and is forced to take refuge on the surface. Along the way, she meets her four mates; childhood crush-Harrison, his best friend-Axel the werewolf, the dragon body guard-Ryker, and Taylor- another merman. I like the mixed cast but their relationships and perspective of each other was kind of wonky. Melody is an unbalanced blend of naive/sheltered, sensual, and reckless/annoying. Not the most likable MC for me. There were also all of these "misunderstandings" and "issues" between her and the guys that seemed to be thrown in for extra drama and maybe to further the plot, but I felt they were confusing and didn't flow very well. I don't think I would reread this.
This story is so long winded and the MFC is horrible. She’s 27 going on 15. Severely immature and dragging Harry along for no real reason because she has no problem sleeping with him and adding more guys. I wanted the guys to just drop her and find someone new. this read like a ya but a horrible one.
This flat out needs editing, for one it's all over the place. Shifting from first person to third, mixing descriptions. I couldn't be bothered to keep trying to wrap my head around it. Initially I thought it was the authors first book but it doesn't seem like it.
I’m so tempted to give this book 2 stars. I might eventually change it if I can’t cook down about it 😅 This book started out so promising for me and then it just fell flat. I like Melody at the beginning. It seemed like a fun story and Harrison was a great MC. Then it just kind of stalled for me. Like nothing happened. They were running for their life and then all of a sudden they are just hanging out in a house waiting around and shopping. From life and death to boring. The worst for me was they way Melody treated Harrison. Before I get into what really pissed me off let’s talk about the sex scenes. They were so quick and just unemotional to me. There was no connection between the characters. One minute their sitting their and the next she’s riding some guy. Not sexy or inciting. Just a quick fuck and it’s over. ***SPOILERS**** She’s stringing Harrison along and sleeping with him every chance she gets. She meets Axel and all of a sudden she’s all in for her damn pod. What happened between them just really irritated me. I almost gave the books 2 stars bc of it. She starts them into a threesome by screwing Harrison with Axel teasing her then she takes Axel upstairs and basically shuts the door on Harrison’s face. He storms off, OF COURSE HE STORMS OFF!!! He’s loved her forever and she basically tossed him out on his ass. Next morning she knocks on the bathroom door and Harrison says in a minute “I was surprised that he didn't invite me in. But he hadn’t taken me turning him away last night well.” Give the man a fucking break. She rejected him. Fucked him then turned him away so she could mate with someone else. Of course he didn’t invite her in, of course he’s angry and hurt. From there in our it just felt like Axel and Melody were almost rubbing it in his face. Honestly by the end of the book I only like Ryker. He was by far my favorite. He even recognized what she was going to the guys (best friends btw) “Did she not see how she was pitting them against each other? Her inexperience dripped from her words.” He’s the only reason I would continue the series but all the rest just puts me off the characters, especially Melody who we are supposed to route for. Instead of coming off as this strong woman who can hold her own she comes off as the type of woman who is spoiled and doesn’t think about how her actions affect others.

Ellie Pond’s Wicked Water, the first book in the Enchanted Elements series, (also a different cover than what is shown on booksprout) is a thrilling deep dive into a world where fierce loyalty, sizzling attraction, and dark secrets swirl together like a riptide. This book is a masterclass in combining fantasy with romance and keeps you on edge while making you fall for every protector around the heroine!
In this story, we meet a princess who’s as skilled with a trident as she is resilient. She’s not a damsel waiting to be saved; she’s fiercely trained, determined, and more than capable of handling herself. But with danger brewing in her hidden underwater kingdom, her father’s decision to place her in the care of four dangerously attractive protectors brings her life a twist she didn’t see coming. Each of her protectors—from her childhood crush to a possessive wolf and a stubborn dragon—brings unique strengths and undeniable chemistry, setting the stage for a romantic journey that’s as intense as it is heart-pounding.
The ‘why choose’ aspect is woven beautifully into the story, making every relationship feel meaningful and complex. Pond crafts a romance that’s equal parts fiery and tender, leaving readers rooting for every connection. The tension between duty and desire keeps you invested, especially as the heroine wrestles with both the growing threats to her kingdom and her blossoming feelings for her protectors.
With Wicked Water, Pond has created a richly detailed fantasy realm and characters who leap off the page with passion and depth. It’s a must-read for fans of reverse harems and fantasy romance that combines adventure, suspense, and steamy scenes in perfect harmony. If you’re ready for a journey through enchanted waters with a heroine who knows her worth and a team of protectors who’d go to any lengths to keep her safe, this book is one you don’t want to miss!.

So far I'm only on page 55 and it'd been good a bit boring but not to boring. My main complaint right now is the author forgot what hee character looks like in the beginning Harrison had golden hair and dark green eyes now at page 55 he has light brown hair and ice blue eyes... Lol literally on page 56 he's back to having green eyes 😂. I'm on page 156 and the authors done it again originally this character was introduced as having black hair and blue eyes now at page 156 he has hazel eyes. Lol now I'm on page 157 and he's back to having blue eyes. At 192 hazel again. So I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the author may have changed characters looks in a second draft and didn't go through with a fine tooth comb to make sure she changed all of the instances where looks are mentioned so the author needs to edit so I'm deducting a half a star before I'm even finished reading the book. I've also noticed the author seems to kinda forget things they've said in the beginning like for example at first Taylor hated the princess then all of a sudden he respected her and another example is near the end the fmc is saying Harrison had more practice than she did using a triton but then her father taught her from a young age and Harrison only spent 2 yrs learning it's kinda ticking me off at this point but I'm invested in the story and want to know what happens but I may need to take a break before I start the next one.... Welp nevermind I don't think I want to read the next one I don't much care for the way the book was written and how the expert of the next book just jumps right to we were separated like that kinda ruins the read when you jump like that from the end of the first book to boom this. I like to live what the characters in a book are doing and living not being told how they are this or that. (I've been up for to many hours so my brains not working very well so this review may be confusing to some but not to me xD)

This is a Mermaids and reverse-harem story, one full of fantasy characters that will have you reading through it all, I didn't expect so many of them, I was very surprised and now I am intrigued by the story and want to see where the story goes, definitely a cliffy so be aware of it, definitely a good recommendation if you like this sort of stories, the world-building was very good, the characters are fantastic, the storyline will entertain you to no end. Give me the next one, please!
The story was interesting. There was a lot of emotional angst. The female lead character has been pressured to choose her Pod members. Everyone in the kingdom is waiting for her to choose so they can choose others if they aren’t chosen. Her best guy friend has shown no interest in her and she hasn’t shown any interest in him either so they are at an impasse until someone breaks. Then tensions rise when she chooses his friend before him, and he ran off before she could explain. He refused to let her explain and or got interrupted before she had the chance and he ran away again. She seems to apologize a lot for things that weren’t even her fault, which kinda pissed me off. She was all woe is me, I can’t choose, telling him she wanted him in her pod but not now, and then chooses his friend. Blames herself for them getting hurt, that type of thing. She is kind, loyal and respective to her parents. Although everytime she spoke to her parents, they were pissed off at her for her decisions she made. It seemed everyone was pissed off at her but Axel her new mate and she apologized for everything. She did seem to know how to fight, use her tri blade in a fight, and cared for others. I loved when she displayed her confidence. She could be funny too. I hope Ryker comes around. I hope Annabelle and the merman have a happy relationship once this is all resolved.
This was my first read from this author and my first Mermaid romance book. I wasn't sure what to expect but the blurb intrigued me and I had to sign up and read this.
My attention was held from beginning to end with this one. There was some suspense and some seriously hot chemistry with the main characters. I was hooked wanting to know what was going to happen.
I really loved the dynamics between all the main characters, Melody, Harrison, Ryker and Axel. The push/pull sexual tension between them all was off the charts hot I'm surprised there was no smoke coming off my kindle.
I will admit that I got slightly frustrated with Melody and who she chose first to be in her pod. She hurt the one person that was always there for her even if I could understand her reasons partly I didn't agree.
There was so much going on in this one as there was the suspense of who was after the Princess, who were these different Merman? add in the build up with the tension between them and you have a gripping read.
My only criticism is that I was not aware this was the first book in the series so was quite frustrated when it ended the way it did!! That being said I now need the need the next book NOW!!
ARC received in exchange for an honest review from the Author and Grey's Promotions
"In a pod, all are equal. Even the female isn't above the rest. Podmates love each other." I lifted her chin. "You’re telling me that four guys live with one woman, and everyone loves each other and gets along?" She smiled, and my cock twitched. "Are you asking if there’s jealousy? Why would there be? Love isn't a commodity. Why couldn't I come to love you and Harrison and others the same?"
Princess Melody has been putting off starting her own pod. She still needed to get the chance to live on land. Even with her romantic merman Harrison in the picture, she wasn’t ready to commit.
Things changed when her life was suddenly in danger and, with the help of a security detail dragon, she was introduced to several men who made her heart flutter. Fighting for their lives and to become a part of the royal pod, while trying to hide the princess, became a much bigger deal than originally planned.
With lots of action and lots of steam, Ellie Pond starts a wonderful new series!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, despite the fact that it's a cliffhanger! Ha! That's saying a lot since I never read a cliffhanger without having the next book available.
I received this book as an ARC and I knew going into it that it would end this way, but I'm always open to new authors. I'm so glad I didn't let the cliffhanger stop me from reading this.
There are so many characters in this book and yet it wasn't hard to follow at all. It centers around Melody, a mermaid princess in danger from unknown threats, and Harrison, her merman love interest and friend, who is tasked with protecting her. You soon find out she also has more protection in the form of a dragon shifter, Ryker, and a wolf shifter, Axel. This is a fantastical story and I really need the next one to magically appear in my kindle so I can find out what happens next!
I was really enjoying this book and was very disappointed to find out that I have to read all the books coming up to find out how the story ends. Cliffhangers should be banned as they are not the way to get readers to get the other books in the series. Melody is the mermaid princess who refuses to start her marital pod for some mysterious reason and when she does she chooses Axel the wolf shifter first instead of Harrison the merman who she knows she loves and wants in her pod but won't tell him until it is nearly too late. It is easy to see who her four pod mates are going to be but being a cliffhanger we only get to where she has two members and one dragon shifter, Ryker, waiting. I would love to read the rest but know that in all probability I won't as I would have forgotten all about this book when the next one comes out, which is a real shame.
This was a fun mermaid and mates story. As the crown princess and a mermaid, Melody is expected to start her pod, but wants to experience life outside her city first. She gets her wish when her life is in danger and rebels are after her. She is sent with her old friend and man of interest, Harrison, to Boston for her safety. Along the way, they are attacked multiple times, pick up a hot bodyguard dragon, Ryker. Melody finds herself with a taste of semi freedom and the opportunity to grow closer to Harrison, Axel, and Ryker.
