Centuries past, Amilanu made a foolish, spur of the moment decision. He’s been paying for it ever since. Sharing his body with The Dark One locked away in Hell has been punishment enough, but now that he’s managed to find his way to freedom it’s even worse. He’s found his mate, the one woman who holds his soul in her hands. But he can’t claim her, can’t love her, can’t even spend more than a few fleeting moments with her from time to time. Every time he tries, The Dark One surges back to the forefront and regains control, threatening his woman and causing her nothing but heartache. He’s decided it’s best for her and the world in general if he simply destroys himself and, hopefully, The Dark One in the process. But then he hears his Aubreigne’s desperate pleas for help and has no choice but to go to her at once.
Aubreigne has resigned herself to living the remainder of her life alone. She’s convinced herself she’s okay with that, but can’t stop her thoughts from lingering on the mysterious male who visits her home during the night, leaving her beautiful, painfully realistic sketches. It’s as though he’s trying to tell her something. She’d thought it was The Dark One for a time, but all he does when he’s near her is lash out cruelly, so surely it can’t be him. Yet it is — and just as she’s convinced herself she wants no part of the drawings or the male who’s left them, he’s back and he’s suffering. Seeing him hurting and so helpless, leaves her unable to do anything other than assist him. The last words from his mouth before he collapsed were a plea for her forgiveness. She doesn’t even know if she can save him, but she’s got to try.
An unexpected threat stalks Aubreigne and those she loves. She finds out too late that the person representing that threat is more dangerous than any gave him credit for. Will Aubreigne move quickly enough to save those she loves most? Will Amilanu hear her call before he deals himself the final blow. All hinges on fate coming together and twining their lives in just the right way. One tiny misstep will destroy all Aubreigne holds dear.

I write Paranormal, SciFi and Fantasy Romance. Why, you may ask? Romance, because who doesn’t love a good romance, and the lack of reality in the story lines - because, well, normal is highly overrated. I’m 55, I have two kids, one 32 and one 12 (yes, God does have a sense of humor), one grandchild, one husband, and a menagerie of animals. Literally, too damn many things that eat wandering around our property. I love to cook, and I am a voracious reader, though since I started writing I don’t get as much time to read as I once did. I am a homebody and prefer my writing/reading time to a crowd. I have had stories and fictional characters wandering around in my head for as long as I can remember. I started letting them out into the real world and surprisingly, people have loved them. I am a Self-Published Author, and I like it that way because I can decide what and when to write. I am by no means a formal, polished, properly structured individual and neither are my stories. But people seem to love the easy emotion and passion that naturally flow from them. A bit of a warning though, there are some “triggers” in them that certain people should avoid. I’m a firm believer that you cannot have light without the dark. You cannot fully embrace the joy and elation that my people eventually find if you do not bear witness to their darkest hours as well. So please be sure to read the warnings supplied with each of the synopses about my books before you buy them. I've got three series published at this time, Avaleigh's Boys - PNR, Whispers From the Bayou - Fantasy PNR, Haven - a SciFi, and three more in process. I’m a bit sarcastic, scathing actually, and a smartass to boot, so if I offend you, it is most likely not intentional. But be prepared because it probably won’t be the last time. I’m always glad to hear from readers; those who have followed me from the beginning, and those who have just found my people. So feel free to look me up and say hello, or just follow along; either way, I’m glad to have you.
Another thoroughly enchanting read from the world of the whispers where all kinds of paranormal live and love. I loved seeing how some of my favorites were doing with their mates and their young. Once again Sandra Neeley pulled me into this beautiful paranormal world that she has created! Every time a new book comes out from this series I feel like I'm going home to see beloved family. This was Aubreigne's story. It opens a few years after Murders book and their celebrating the wedding of Aubreignes daughter Deaumanique and enthrall's son Shane. Its a happy time and all my fave characters are their with their mates and their kids. It was so awesome how Neeley highlighted characters like my fave gargoyle Carnage and also others like destroy and enthrall and a few others as well. Amilanu/ the dark one is back and he's doing everything in his power to be rid of the dark one so that he can be with aubreigne, but theirs a evil presence in the whispers who wants to not only to command all who live their but who's sick twisted mind wants the beautiful siren/ demon aubergine for his own and when she and the others in the whispers rebuff him he has a plan that will hurt those dear to enthrall and when choices are made one will be saved and made vampire and one will be sent back to the pits of hell its self! This was another fabulous book and I truly enjoyed it from start to finish. Neeley is a awesome storyteller and I can't get enough of this series. I will wait patiently( not really!) for the next installment to this series. Until next time Luv's💋💝
Reread. Still loving the series so much --- I love this series so much, I adore how much each character and family as deep and great contact with each other. It's just not following a couple in each book but also the community.
I absolutely loved this book and was instantly hooked by the strong yet delicate heroine and her conflicting hero. The characters were so well developed and their individual stories blended so well into the current story being told. I love the very communal lifestyle they all lead. It felt like a tight-knit extended family comprised of interesting members with amazing super powers. I loved the “it takes a village” approach in how they look after each other. The internal battle Amilanu has between the Dark One and his true self is so well written and thought out. I was rooting for Amilanu despite all the horrible things he willingly engaged in because he through this sacrifice he was protecting the person he loves most- Aubreigne, his mate. The balance the author strikes between focusing on the hero and heroine’s love story and the other characters, captivated me. This book was also about family and the bonds that we make with those we choose as family. And that open-ended conclusion where we know that more stories are coming just filled me with joy!
I loved this book. It was a true romance about a battle between good and evil. I loved reading how the dual personalities of one of the main characters battles his bad side to redemption. I also love reading about the younger characters becoming old enough to begin married life themselves. Then there are the new species of paranormals moving to Whispers. It’s becoming its own little town. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.
This story had some crazy twist in it. I enjoyed the plot twist with that Entrall and Amilanu were friends many many years ago. I loved getting to know more about Aubreigne and her daughter Deaumanique . Like what happened with Deaunmanique father and what is Aubreigne special blood line. This all become important in the twist and turns of the storyline. Old friends show back up in Whispersync which isn't welcomed. We also learn about Creatures that don't mix with the other members of the community. They aren't bad but don't know if they are welcomed. What the don't realize is Entrall already knew about the outsiders. He was fine with them being in Whispersync as long as they follow the rules and are peaceful. We get introduced to Brannaugh the Dark fairy. Must of people fear the outsiders. So they are surprised when they are all invited to the big wedding event. Deaumanique and Shane ( Entrall's adopted son) are finally all grown up and getting married. Everyone of the characters from past books get to join in on the blessed day. Things are going to well and trouble sneaks in. Aubergine just needs to get her Happy ever after. More new friends end up in Whipers' plus old friends and foes are forced out. More changes are in the future. I can't wait for Ms.Neeley to get writing the next adventure for our mismatched creatures.
Oh I must say I so enjoyed this addition! I have waited for Aberiegne to have her very own mate and to be loved as she deserves. Amilanu has been a thorn in my side yet he has proven that his heart is in the only truly place it is needed to be. Destroy had me in stitches grabbing my side and making my face hurt from his antics. He truly is a male of great worth. Lily is a sun that shines bright and I am so excited to see her story come to realization. But I suspect that the next to see happy ever after will be Brannaugh. He will have to get past Kamilahs guards but I find that he is already starting to show her what a Male of worth is. I think auntie will be there to show them that she will protect her niece, although I hope that Dima finds his one and only. I foresee Zahra is a strong match for him...just saying....But Rune oh my he is my absolute favorite! He is loyal and kind and not one to make angry! Very good job at affording me the opportunity to escape and enter one of my most favored worlds. I appreciate you and your ability to make this world come to life for me. I only speak for myself but I absolutely love the fact that you have lavished us with this incredible world and it's most beloved characters. Thank you Miss Neeley. Your forever faithful reader.
*WARNING* an adults only book I know this book is titled Aubergine and is suppose the story of her and Amilanu, but it's so much more. You get the joining of Shane and Deaumanique, which is beautiful! A rebirth from human to vampire to save a life. We meet some new characters that Brannaugh brings out into the open with him. The detestable Ata'halne comes back in this story too. We get all this plus we get all of the old characters that I already adore, I think that's because Whispers is the true meaning of home and just wouldn't be home without everyone making an appearance. With all that said, I forgot to mention The Evil One! This is such a beautiful story with so much happening, with so many characters. I think the author does a great job keeping all the happenings easily understandable and the story easy to read. Carnage still makes me giggle. Lily still leaves me in awe. The Dragon tree still leaves me curious. Many little things are tear worthy. The Whispers From the Bayou series are all stand alone books, but you'd be missing out on some great amazing stories and getting to know some great characters if you skipped any.
This book was phenomenal hands down so good it'll leave you at the edge of your seat wondering what's gonna happen next. The opening was lovely all the kids are growing up Aubreigne's daughter Deaumanique and Shane get Married everyone in Whispers come to enjoy it even new visitors. This book will have you laughing filled with love friendship and happiness. Aubreigne knows who keeps leaving her things its Amilanu but hes not his self he still has the Dark One.Amilanu gives her a wolf he saves with the help from Brannaugh she names him Rune Ata'halne is back there's something off about him even Rune doesn't like him at all. Amilanu comes back and tells Aubreigne how to save him hopefully it'll work they go threw a lot he knows shes his soulmate and will do anything to get rid of the Dark One we see how evil the Dark One really is! And in the end he finally does get rid of him for good with the help from Ata'halne is now the Dark One. Amilanu is finally free and can live his life now with Aubreigne Whispers is growing the evil is gone Aubreigne and Amilanu are now bonded yay.. Loved the ending they get there HEA cant wait too see what happens next!

Ms. Neeley is my favorite author, I have read all her books and one is better than the other! I loved Aubreigne. Be careful what you ask for! Amilanu made a decision that he regrets. At the time he made this decision he did not think of the consequences. Light/Dark, Right/Wrong which would he be pulled to? Aubreigne sensed her mate, but which one was he? Light or Dark? You need to read it to find out. Aubreigne’s life was in danger from someone she thought as a friend or was he? Which of his side will Amilanu choose to protect his mate? This book is intense and suspense. Ms Neeley brings out all of your emotions. The characters are amazing! Take a chance and read this, you won’t regret it. I know Ms Neeley will have another new fan. I would absolutely recommend this book to all paranormal readers.
The Whispers crew is back! I loved getting reacquainted with the original Whisper’s characters as well as getting to know a few new ones. I still love Carnage, Carolina, Lily and Boon. I was excited to have them in this book. I also enjoyed Aubreigne’s and Amilanu’s journey to their HEA.
Although, this was Aubreigne’s story we get a couple of love stories in this book and maybe one budding romance with Brannaugh. I hope to get his story soon.
I love the mother/daughter relationship between Aubreigne and Deaumanique and the father/son relationship between Enthrall and Shane. The scenes between them were very heartfelt.
This book had several things that I love...romance, strong friendships and family bonds, mystery, action and well developed characters. I couldn’t ask for anything more!
I am reading the series and really enjoying the families and friends in Whispers. Each book is mainly about a different couple and the sub-stories of the other characters. It’s quite nice that we the readers get to keep up with all the characters. This book is about the one-half Siren and one-half Demon beauty that can pull in anyone by her beautiful voice. Aubreigne has discovered who her true mate is but it’s complicated and almost impossible situation with her male plus he is dangerous. There is so much going on in Whispers right now between weddings, new mates, the Dark One, etc. this is a good story. I would like to add that you really get to know all the characters when you start from the beginning. Read On!
What an awesome story! Sometimes, in a weak moment, people make bad choices. With remorse, one might find redemption. Some, however, are irredeemable.. Aubreigne is quite an amazing woman. She puts a damper on her abilities in order to mingle with others; capable of restraint, but do. not. cross. her. I love how this whole extended bayou family works together when a problem occurs. Wonderfully written, the story encompasses tragedy, passion, justice, and love eternal. The excitement doesn’t stop. The interesting new characters who are introduced make me wonder what their stories will be. So much to anticipate!
I Absolutely Love the Whisper series! All the characters have such unique personalities that this series is a Must Read. Fell in love with Carnage first, my heart went out to him, then Lore, ya gotta love Lore and his sarcasm!I could go on and on, but the bottom line is Ms. Neeley is an Amazing writer, you just cant help to fall for ALL her characters. Thank You Ms. Neeley for your Whisper Series!!! Cant wait to see whos story is next, patiently waiting for Lilly's!!!!
Aubreigne is a woman to respect and love! She is sweet, fierce, and vulnerable. She can take care of herself but she has many friends who love her and would help her in a moment.
Amilanu was harder to empathize with but that is only human nature; to fear, be wary, distrust, or to even be hostile to in defense of family and friends. It is the protected beauty of Amilanu's soul that touches Aubreigne.
In true form to the denizens of Whisper comes another fun to read story about Aubreigne. She has a great story to tell. Her friends are all there, their children growing up. I was so happy to read about Amilanu and how he and his love conquer all. A page turner. I hope the stories from Whispers continue forever...just like most of its inhabitants.
Every time I read a book from her different series's she has I get so immersed in it I think it's my favourite then I read another book from another series and that's my favourite. I've come to the conclusion then every book and series is the best and I'm not biased lol So glad all a happy ending, well for their story, now who's next from whispers...
The Whispers Series have me hoping for a better life for all who live there.
I want to continue to read more from this series with the mix of Supernatural Characters. I can’t wait for Lilly’s Story with her Dragon Tree ( long lost love), and now Branaugh, Dark Fae. The Siren/Devil had her troubles but true love wins!
Another good addition to the series. Best part was seeing the other couples and their children. One of the unique qualities of the male characters except for a select few is the almost childlike but totally acceptable behaviors, yet still they are totally male/ alpha. Only an excellent and skilled story teller can do this. Hats off
Glad to get Aubreigne and Amiluna (Dark One) story, the suspense, mystery of their journey hold you captive from beginning to end. This is really a amazing very well written paranormal series, with exceptional characters that pull you right in, so again another well story in this awesome series !!!!
You pretty much knew from the beginning how this was going to play out. What makes this readable are the characters and the relationships they have. I need a story where the guys go on a road trip, or go camping, something! Lore, Murder, Enthrall, and the rest of them need some sort of buddy story.
I enjoy this series because it is a little different for the story telling. I was so excited about this one because I like Aubreigne and she got her own story and hope that maybe we'll see other inhabitants of Whispers.
5 stars wow whispers is an amazing place to visit. I'm so in love with each creature/person who ends up living there. Aubreigne is no exception. Each new couple and each new creature to make appearances just adds to the place. Way to go Sandra. Can not wait to read the next book about whispers.
Absolutely amazing story from the people of whispers. I love how Sandra manages to give updates on all the previous books characters without taking away from the main story arc and characters. Thoroughly enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next one!
I Always look forward to reading anything in this series. Not just sexy but addictive to read the continuing lives of those of the Whisper community.. Absolutely love this series and can’t wait for the next.
Another great book! A few years have passed (in Whispers) since the last book & I was pleasantly surprised to see Shane & Deamonique all grown up. I look forward to more.
I really loved reading this book! Aubreigne 's story was wonderfully written. I love the Whispers community and how they all come together to protect their own. Fantastic story!
Another fabulous story. I don't ever tire of the Whispers and its inhabitants. Love Aubergine and her mate. Finally together at last. I look forward to Lily's story and will Dima get together with Sahara? I hope so. Thank you Sandra for my escapes to Whispers.
This story was so moving, exciting, entertaining and interesting. It's a really feel good story that lets you know that everyone gets what's coming to them and more. Sandra is a Fantastic storyteller and is a PHENOMENAL writer🤗😍.
Amilanu!! My heart just broke for him! There's so much emotion in this book, you just want to cry at times. I think this is may favorite so far... until Lily's that is, lol. Sigh... another great read from Sandra! Get it now.💚
I really enjoyed this series. The only thing I didn't like was where she used their names so much. Didn't have to do that to know who was talking. But a great series all in all.
