Aurora Clarke is part of a family of Magnormals, a group of individuals with DNA mutations that give them enhancements some people would kill for. From Aurora’s perspective, being Magnormal has saddled her with a lifelong responsibility of which she’s grown weary. When her mother calls her for yet another assignment, this time at King International’s Chicago headquarters, Aurora longs to be normal.
Donovan King returns from a lengthy sabbatical to find that his board has named Aurora Clarke Interim CEO. What’s worse, the board refuses to restore Donovan’s title unless he agrees to peacefully work alongside Aurora, a compromise that will test his resolve at every turn.
When Donovan and Aurora meet, the pull is instant and transcendental. They both refuse to admit their attraction. After all, Aurora has a job to do, and Donovan’s goal is singular: to remove the maddening female from his company. Their objectives are waylaid when malevolent forces attack King International. Aurora and Donovan are forced to unite in order to prevent further onslaught. Along the way they will discover there is more at stake than they could have ever imagined.
Pull is a perfect balance between suspense and romance, with a touch of urban fantasy. Richards’ slightly fantastical plot runs parallel to reality when lead characters Aurora and Donovan discover how the past has delivered them to the present and what it means for their future. The romance is the (very hot) cherry on top of this page-turner. Coming from a reader that doesn’t consume much romance OR fantasy, I was very pleasantly surprised how enthralled I was in this book! Finished in two sittings and can’t wait for book #2!!!
I was fortunate to receive and read an advance copy of this book. I thoroughly enjoyed it from the first page! The story is engrossing, as are the characters. I am anxiously waiting for the next book in the series. Highly recommend this book for great intrigue and entertainment!!!
I really liked the characters in this book, they were believable and relatable. The storyline was a great blend of sci-fi and and enough mystery to keep my attention so that I couldn't put it down, not to mention the tension-filled relationship between the two main characters! I can't wait to read the next book about Donovan and Aurora and what awaits them!
