The hopeless romantic in me, the one who loves to see those that have carried the worst kinds of pain, be it physical or emotional, is in my happy place after reading this. This is a beautiful story well written and of course as is this authors style, filled with twist and suspense/drama/intrigue. This does all tie in with the other series which is the story of Whisper and Edge. Don't get me started on that one. Here we have Joy who has been beat down by blow after blow yet still she stands. Levi, oh sweet Levi, has his hands full with this spitfire from days gone by who has hit his heart right where it counts. Now they are back home for a visit and Levi isn't the only one who gets a nibbling but youll have to read it and see. Tons of emotional stuff to go with the action and some real truths are shared. It's a beautiful beginning of their relationship and yeah with a few kinks seeing he lives in California and she lives in Texas. Joy finds her joy and Levi finds his heart and together they find what they have both wanted but never thought they'd find.

One of the best series ive read.

Emma james blows my mind !. Seriously this series has had me hooked from the very beginning and ive devoured every book so far thats been written. Im in love with each and every character from the loyalty the friendships, the brotherhood, the devestating loss to the empowerment that they bring to the people around them due to their unfortunate circumstances. The women that they love who can bring them to their knees. The men of ocean beach and truely one of a kind and makes you want more . Emma james knows how to keep her reader's dangling on tender hooks you get so invested in each and every character that they feel apart of you . I cannot wait for more . I just love it .

Joy Is Found was my most anticipated book of 2015 and what an outstanding addition to one of my favourite series of all time it is!

Emma James came onto my radar earlier this year and her words, her characters and the journey she has taken each of those characters on, has had a huge impact on my heart and soul. You know when you read one of 'those' books, that makes you stop what you are doing, look at a wall and just say "WOW." You know the feeling I'm talking about right? Well this series will may you do exactly that, continuously!

To any reader who had yet to indulge in this series, STOP EVERYTHING YOU ARE DOING, RIGHT NOW, AND ONE-CLICK THESE BOOKS:

A Little Faith
Hope Is Lost
Joy Is Found

They will take over and capture your every thought, they will feel like home deep in your heart and they will surround you with everything you need from a unique romance series.

Joy Is Found is Book Three in The 'Men Of Ocean Beach' Series and it is one that I have needed since finishing Hope Is Lost.

I knew this book would be particularly special because we would get Levi's love story. I called dibs on Levi right at the very beginning and I NEEDED his story, I needed his search for love to blow his mind, I needed him to have that CONNECTION with a beautiful person and I needed him to just be ok. But the story that the word wizard, Emma James delivered blew any expectations I had right out of the atmosphere. She has blessed the book world with a masterpiece and I couldn't have wished for anything better.

If possible, I am even more in love with Levi than I thought possible. He absolutely ROCKED MY WORLD. Along with the newest addition to the crew, Joy, I feel so ecstatic, so warm and am ABSOLUTELY BURSTING WITH EXCITEMENT FOR THE NEXT INSTALMENT.

The character growth throughout the entire series is just OUTSTANDING! As time goes on, the men in this series get braver, bolder, more intense and VERY protective.

The friendships and bond between these characters cannot be beaten or destroyed, and although the crew are expanding and inviting others to join their wonder wagon, the friendship and love between them all is so fierce, so loyal, that nothing can come between that special bond they have.

Emma writes these books from multi-POV's. Each of the characters hold the same level of importance, the plot flows beautifully, and what makes this so special is it feels so REAL. Pivotal detail is described beautifully, allowing you to picture each character, scene and setting, vividly.

This book is full of laugh out loud moments, soul touching emotion, gut churning sadness and happiness that will just make you beam so bright.
The songs that are mentioned throughout the story really bring it to life and making the read itself so much more intense.

Emma James, NEVER EVER STOP WRITING. I want to shout from the rooftops about these books. I want every reader to trip over themselves and fall head over heels in love with this outstanding series, the characters and the world you have created and I am making it my personal mission to do just that. You are a truly talented author and I cannot thank you enough for blessing the book world with these novels.

6 GIANT, BEAUTIFUL STARS

Emma James is one of those authors who you know as soon as you pick up one of her books your not going to be disappointed. She has the natural talent that draws you into her characters and you are the third person looking in.

Joy is found will take you on such a emotional roller coaster you will be laughing out aloud, then the next minute crying with happiness and sadness. Also if your like me your have your husband/wife and even kids looking at you oddly and telling you its just a book.

This is book 3 in this series. This is Levi's story. Levi Donovan is hot as hell like all the men in this series and is Keanu's best friend and business partner. The gang decide to head to Cedar Hill in Texas to celebrate Thanksgiving. Little does Levi that this trip will change his life upside down.

Step forward Joy this is the girl who Levi would trip up in primary (elementary) school then dissapeared without a trace one day.

Joy is such a brilliant character to bring into the group. The chemistry between Joy and Levi is absolutely explosive, i am surprised my kindle didn't burn.....

Both Joy and Levi both have issues. Joy has suffered lot of trauma that led to her hiding away for all these years from the world. Levi finds himself doing the one thing that he's never done before and that is to chase the girl he actually wants but will he be able to coax her out of the shadows.

Joy is Found takes off from book two. Past characters continuing and new characters introduced.
Emma has upped the bar , throwing us lots of exciting new tid bits as well as adding more to the mix.

(( secrets I can not divulge )) but how exciting !!

Joy is Found is another great installment in the series , it will keep you engaged , eager and draw you into the lives of the Ocean beach guys and girls.

The characters grow with each story written, we see strength , love and friendship blossom and continue and how we also see how the lives have been affected of each and every character along the way since book one.

Emma has no dramas giving us the goodies. With wonderfully delivered characters and a smooth flowing story line, you will not be disappointed.

Joy is Found filled with a great cast of characters I’m sure that will not only swoon but have you rooting for.

Emma portrays her characters with depth and emotion letting the reader know exactly what’s happening. The dialogue was brusque, clear cut and the suspense titillating, the romance sweet, norty at times and endearing.

An ending I’m sure will keep the reader happy and a great third addition to The Ocean Beach series.

I find often within Emma's characters I am giggling.

The boys are witty, humorous, and I find myself snickering often.. I love the humour within in her stories.

Overall a fantastic combination of all within the pages. I look forward to book 4 !

So what can I say about this woman's writing. Ms Emma all I can say is "Good Job".
I love EVERYTHING that she writes .... but will admit I was reluctant to read this one as I am not in the minority of the FAITH AND jASE fan club .... I was hoping for a Harley take over ... but she is redeemed and I'm very excited for the next one ....... These boys of the OB are men that we all wish we'd had as friends, My interest was definitely peaked with Levi and Joy especially the "they have something in common" comment..... But that dramatic scene as frightening as I'm sure it was/would be .... I got excited again with the mention of a certain person (makes me want another book to come out .... PRONTO.... very "EDGY" scene ... Loving the boys ... loving the girls (even Faith) loving the story lines, the directions .... Keep 'em coming Ms James..
BRAVO!!!!!!

I've come to expect a lot from Ms. James and her men of Ocean Beach, and she didn't disappoint. Every time I pick one of these books up, I dive into a rich story told from various points of view. I don't like to say too much in my reviews on her books, as she has tons of little things that are so fun to pick up on and discover, but I would definitely recommend this book.

I love the way everyone has a chance to be expressed in this book and in this series. The friendship they share gives my real life friendship a run for my money. I am so happy that Levi found joy back in his life. They inspire me to be a better person and friend. Totally the best last book for my 2015 and worth not sleeping for.

This review was originally posted to Jen in Bookland

*Note: I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Also this is not a standalone - you should have read the prior books in the series as this is a continuation of the same stories.

Joy is Found was a great read. It is probably my favorite of the series thus far! These books are so different from most and I love that. The author is really good at creating a story with so many different main characters and having it actually work. These are not stories where there is a couple that is the main focus and everyone else you see in the background. No, these are stories about everyone. What they are all doing through the course of the book. Sure, one of them might find their special someone, but that is just what is going on with them in the book. I really enjoy that. You get to see everyone grow and mature and find their happiness together. It is amazing.

Since this series is not like others it actually makes it harder for me to review. Since there is so much going on, so many people to read about, it is hard for me to condense what I love about the story into something that will do it justice. Each story adds more characters for me to fall in love with and growing closer to those I already know. This story was probably my favorite because it had so many ups and downs and really showed how everyone is finally really starting to move on from what happened with Chance. Yes, it was horrible, they all still have scars, but you can't just shut yourself off forever. This story was much more emotional for me. The author got me to be very upset when I jumped to conclusions (just like some of the characters), she made me angry with people at times (in a good way - just like no!?! What is happening?!?), but then she reminded me how great everyone is. She made me fall for these guys even more than I already had. Some of the characters I had previously not liked as much even started to grow on me. I loved this read.

So like my other reviews for this series I think I will just do a little recap of all the main characters from this story. Ah I love it. So here we go.

Harley - Now he was one that I never really liked. Not that I have to like everyone, but he was a bit too over-protective for me in the first story especially. He is growing on me though. As I see all these big, strong guys fall for amazing ladies I kind of get that caveman thing more. I can't wait to see him fall in love with someone. He has been trying to deal with his feeling for Faith since she obviously likes his brother. I saw him as being much sweeter in this story, even if he was grumpy, and you just can't help but feel a bit for him having to be around the girl he thought he had feelings for and watch her be happy with someone else.

Keanu & Hope - Oh these two are so cute together! I fell for Hope hardcore in the last book, and she is just as sweet and awesome in this one. Keanu was always one of my favorites, I love how he deals with everything even if his humor sometimes hides how he is hurting, but with Hope by his side he is just amazing. He definitely has one of the biggest hearts and oh I love the two of them. I really like seeing them grow as a couple and you do have Hope learning who Ajax is and what he has been up to since he disappeared at the end of the last book.

Retro & Birdie - They got together in the first story and it was so much fun watching where their relationship is going. They are so happy together and so perfect for each other. They are adorable and have lots of fun surprises in store for everyone.

Text & Faith - Oh Jase. He is my favorite of all the guys. Something about the not talking really gets to me. He is the kind of character that I absolutely love to read. He probably has the most issues of all the guys and I can't wait until he finally lets us know what really happened from his point of view. He carries the weight of the world on his shoulders, he feels so guilty for everything, and he is finally starting to try and find some peace. He wants to be with Faith, and she deserves more than broken Jase. Really if anyone can help him it will be Faith. She is so sweet and kind, but pushes him as well. She is not willing to accept that this is just the way he will be forever. They have a bit of a rocky relationship, what will all the lingering issues, but I know they will work everything out. They are too perfect together!

Slade & Phoenix - Slade is not really in this book since he had other things to do, and Phoenix is really almost a secondary character. I can't wait to find out her story. I want to know what makes her tick. Why does she try to hide how much she likes Slade? What happened to her to make her the way she is? One thing I do know - they are going to burn the place down when/if they get together. They are just so hot together already, and they are not even together. Slade is this big, kinda scary looking, but super sweet guy and Phoenix...she is just awesome. Ah I can't wait for the next story with them in it (maybe the next Hell's Bastard book?). It will be fun!

Levi - He was always kind of a mystery to me. He was always there, but I never really knew him which is fixed in this book. He has his injuries from what happened, but he is kind of like Keanu. He projects this image of how fine he is with everything, how he accepts what happens, even if he does have a few insecurities locked up inside. I'm really glad I got to see him open up a bit more and help Joy with everything she is going through.

Joy - She is the new addition to the story that I loved. She has more in common with Levi that he might originally have known and I really like the 'used to like each other as kids' angle. Joy used to go to school with Levi and he showed her he liked her as 10 year olds do - by pulling her hair and such. Only she disappeared one day and he never knew what happened. Now she is back and it looks like maybe there is still something between them. Joy still has a lot of issue to deal with. She has had some trauma in the past and she is not quite to Levi and the gangs level of acceptance yet. She has been hiding out from the world, but Levi doesn't want her to. He likes her, she might be the first girl who he has ever had to pursue, and I'm glad I got to meet her. She is a great addition to the gang!

So I think that is everyone. Wrap this all up into one story of everyone coming home for Thanksgiving, secrets being revealed, some really good times that made me just so happy, and some not so good that made me a bit tense and you have a great read. Not everything is happy shiny fun, but that is what makes it a great story. The author has created such a great group of people who will always be there for each other no matter what. Sure the guys can be a bit caveman-eque with their ladies, but it is really sweet. Oh, it was a great read. Now to wait to see what is in store next!

This is another 5 star winner from Emma James!

I totally love the small details this author includes in her writing, they make it so easy to visualise the story. They also add to character and setting descriptions which is vital.

These two lead characters are perfect for each other! They compliment each other so well that you can't believe they hadn't found each other before hand!

Joy is aptly named and Levi is such a hunk!

I experienced the full range of emotions in this fantastic book, laughing with the humour, worrying with anxiety, heating up with passion, sighing with relief, shedding a tear and boiling with anger as well.

Bring on more please Ms James!

The adventures of this group of friends just gets better and better. I love how every one is slowly healing and becoming whole again. They all deserve some happy.
Levi has always been a little bit more mysterious in the previous books—well to me anyway—and it was great to see him more.
My heart hurts for Harley but I’m certain he’s pain will be soothed very soon.
All these characters are amazing and I’m loving them so much. I look forward to reading more as the author releases new books. And in the meantime I’m going to move into her other series.

I am loving this series! However, reader beware, Emma James will totally leave you hanging . . . . until the next book! Joy is Found is book 3 in her Men of Ocean Beach series and they are not to be read as a stand alone. You need to read all of them in order to know what is going on. Book 3 picked up where book 2 left off. I love the men in this series! The pace of the story and the writing style makes this an easy book to get lost in. Now, Emma James, hurry up with book 4!!!

Can’t wait for the next book

I have loved the whole serie. It is very well written and sucks you in. I love the fact that it still has the other characters in the book as well. The story just continues and the main thread stays the death of a beloved friend and the life of the ones left behind and how they cope with the loss and try to move on.

The Men of Ocean Beach series by Emma James is one of my favorite series. I usually devour these books the moment they release.

Joy Is Found released during the holiday period while I was traveling abroad. I decided to read the book while on the plane to London. Big mistake, impossible to read with a marching band full of teenagers on the plane. The concentration level was very low . I put the book aside with full intentions of finishing the book when we got to our hotel room in London. Well needless to say those wonderful, pesky, 150+ teenagers(including my own), Queen Elizabeth, and Henry VIII kept interrupting my time with Levi & Joy. Levi and Joy got see Big Ben, Windsor Palace, The Tower of London, and experience the London New Years Day Parade, but they didn't get to tell me their story. Six months later they are screaming at me from the kindle to quit ignoring them. I stopped my busy life, gave the teens money to disappear, and sat down with Joy & Levi.

The gang from Ocean Beach has headed home to Texas for the holidays. Their lives are moving forward in positive ways. It's a time for celebration with their families. To Levi's great surprise he becomes reaquainted with a girl from his past. Joy is the girl he crushed on as a boy. Joy is spunky, independent, and a bit stand offish. Once her story begins to unfold, she finds she has much more in common with Levi than she anticipated. Together they are going to find that magic that brought them together as kids hasn't disappeared. It only paused.. and made them stronger, better people. With their family and friends supporting their growing relationship, Joy is becoming a member of the Ocean Beach Family.

Retro and Birdie are preparing to become parents. Jase is still struggling to find his way with Faith. Keanu and Hope have found more than each other. The mysterious Hudson Raine is beginning to reveal his secrets. New doors may be opening for Harley. To top it off, one dark moment changes Chance's fate. The real kicker and pure genius of this book was that Emma James is connecting the dots. Her other series, Hell's Bastards, may be intersecting with the Men of Ocean Beach.

I can't wait to see what comes next. I am invested in all of these characters lives. Hey... I even took them on holiday with me!
