Stephen John Fry is an English comedian, writer, actor, humourist, novelist, poet, columnist, filmmaker, television personality and technophile. As one half of the Fry and Laurie double act with his comedy partner, Hugh Laurie, he has appeared in A Bit of Fry and Laurie and Jeeves and Wooster. He is also famous for his roles in Blackadder and Wilde, and as the host of QI. In addition to writing for stage, screen, television and radio he has contributed columns and articles for numerous newspapers and magazines, and has also written four successful novels and a series of memoirs.
Stephen Fry drags you deep into the tales he spins from the time of Ancient Greece and it's Heroes. Each individual's story is never rushed, and no aspects are lightly brushed over, regardless of the fact that you've read their whole life in a handful of chapters. Heroes was incredible. Loved the footnotes, they were impeccably helpful. Can't wait to read Mythos.
I really like learning about mythology. I really liked the updated language that was used. This book started out so fantastic. I think it would have been more enjoyable if it focused on fewer heroes or included other stories. It became pretty monotonous😬. I really liked Fry’s narration.
Extra adult levels of myths and legends I learnt as child. Nice to hear new verions, hear correct or recall verisons, put some current day phrases smor actions into context
