Rate this book
April 1926

Severine DuNoir and friends have left New Orleans and started on the trail to just what happened to Jane Oliver.

Things are confused and emotions are intense as they find Jane. The relief of finding their missing loved one fades as they have to face what they’ve found? Will their friendship survive? Where do they go from here?

Book SIX in the Mysteries of Severine DuNoir. These historical adventures are playful with a lightly spooky edge. In the coming stories, Severine will discover more than she expected, but her sight will never turn from uncovering just what happened to her parents, not even for the appealing Charles Brand. Join Severine as she peels back the layers of history and memory all while creating a future of her own.

If I didn’t like Severine so much I would have definitely given up on this series several books ago. I don’t understand where the author is going with the books, the plot just feels so random and she goes out of her way to ensure Severine doesn’t take any precautions so she can be robbed, threaten and kidnapped time after time. She still hasn’t hired any professional protection, even though it was mentioned in several of the earlier books and she can certainly afford it.

Con fusing

This story line is interesting, but there are confusing facts. You had Florette being wooed by Mr. Oliver when he first appeared but in this book you mentioned it was Mr. Greyson. There are things like that in other places. You need a competent proofreader

As good as the rest of the series.

I loved this book. The main character and her supporting characters are endearing and all work well together. The plot is easily followed and the story is very good. I definitely recommend this book.

another clever book. these are less mystery and more 20s gang conspiracy, but lighter and a quick read. I cannot wait for the next one.

Family

These are stories of found family. Characters that have chosen to love and support each other with crime, violence and intrigue added to the mix.
