When life isn't fair, we want explanations. Jerry Jones reaches back into Genesis and draws helpful insights from the story of a woman who was cheated by life. Leah didn't live a 'happily-ever-after' life. And for a long time she struggled with deep family disappointment. This book reveals how she got beyond being cheated and suggests that, like Leah, we can move beyond life's often-unfair twists.
Very touching book bringing a Bible story to life. It broke my heart thinking about Leah (in the Bible) and how she must have felt in her marriage. She was a good example of changing her heart and praising God no matter what the circumstances.
I’ve heard this story before summarized in a message Bro. Jones preached. It was wonderful to read the book. The story of Leah, an innocent victim, finally releasing her pain and grief to God, making peace with her circumstances, and eventually finding favor and respect in her husband’s eyes is a beautiful and inspiring story for anyone struggling with the reality that life’s not fair.
An uncanny look into the life & thoughts of Leah. Things perhaps you've thought but not able to put into words like Jones. Anyone who ever felt like they've missed out on something (which is all of us) should read/hear this book. Yes, there's a lot of speculation but nothing that would seem unusual. It all fits into the human psyche. Jones captures the mindset of Leah (& all of us) when feeling cheated & lifts us to new expectations.
Tremendous book. I loved hearing the story of Leah from this perspective. I also love that the given remedy for when life doesn’t go your way is practical and easy to apply to real life.
I listened on audible & it was even read by the author. Bonus points for that! ❤️
