Cute! A mom asks her son to take a package up to the girl living upstairs. The boy is busy making a map and doesn’t hear her really, that sounds like the nephew. When the boy comes down he sees the package and thinks it’s for him. The stuffed elephant talks and they have all kinds of adventures together and then his mom makes him take it to the girl upstairs.
It works out as he and the girl become friends and play with the elephant together. The artwork is nice, I like it, but the story didn’t connect with me.
The nephew thought the elephant was cute. He thought the story was simply Okay. He gave this 2 stars.
I like how the child's imaginary journey is depicted as superimposed on the real world. Eg, they are climbing a mountain, and you see the mountain, but also that it is really the chair, table, and fridge.
So I'm not in love with this book. It happens. A young boy opens a package that was not meant for him and finds inside a stuffed elephant and the two quickly become attached. They go on many adventures and tell each other many stories. However, when Mom finds out that he has the elephant she makes him take it upstairs to the girl who was supposed to have the elephant. The boy knows it's right to give the elephant up but that doesn't make it any easier. The girl realizes that the two were attached and is happy to share the elephant with the boy and all three of them play together sharing in new adventures. The pictures are pretty though! I do like that!
Everyone can use another friend, and when Michael opens a package intended for a neighbor, he finds an incredibly imaginative friend in the form of Timbo, a stuffed elephant. Together, they go on many marvelous adventures until Michael's mother insists that he give the toy to its intended recipient. Michael's heart is broken until the gift returns with another new friend. Luminous illustrations fill the pages of this sweet story with which many young readers will be able to relate. There's nothing better than a new friend, except maybe two of them.
Andrew finds a package in the hallway and assumes it is for him. Inside, he finds a stuffed elephant named Timbo who talks to him! Timbo tells Andrew all about his adventures in Africa. Then they go on their own adventures. Then, Andrew's mom tells him the package was really for Louise in the apartment above them. Andrew will miss Timbo so much! It's a good thing Louise likes adventures and sharing.
Michael EnglerSuch a beautiful story from Michael Engler about a boy, an elephant, make believe and new friends! I loved reading this as much as the kid loved listening to it. Seems perfect for ages 4 and above.
Beautifully illustrated story of a boy and a stuffed elephant having 'elephantastic' adventures, until he finds out that the elephant was delivered to the wrong address. Don't worry Timbo the elephant conveys his sorrow of losing his friend to his new owner and they are able to go on adventures all together.
When a young boy mistakenly opens a package that was for a neighbor, he finds an elephant and falls into a great adventure. Sadness ensues when he's forced to return the elephant to the rightful owner. However, great adventures are meant to be shared and he learns this in the end.
Adorable illustrations and a pleasant little story that doesn't take too long to finish. Great readaloud.
Top notch illustrations. I wish the text was larger, but there are several pages where it's stuffed into a small amount of blank space. I am looking forward to experimenting with this book in a family or preschool storytime. Cute!
Timbo, the talking stuffed elephant, gets delivered to the wrong apartment. Andrew opens the box and is immediately charmed by Timbo. They go on an adventure. Then, his mom informs him that he needs to take the box to the neighbors.
I adore the concept and the illustrations. I also admire the boy's imagination and think it could help spark the imaginations of other kids. Yet somehow this book just didn't live up to my expectations for it.
A sweet story with illustrations which are worth taking the time to inspect and admire. Nice examples of pretend play with a favorite toy. Even touches on what it means to be a friend.
This was a truly wonderful picture book. Both the author and the illustrator are German. The translation to English was published in 2015. The illustrations were beautiful and brought the story to life. This story tells of the adventures Andrew has once a talking stuffed elephant named Timbo arrives at his doorstep. Andrew's adventures come to an abrupt end when his mother tells him the package was meant for his neighbor, Louise. The story ends on a happy note since Louise goes to Andrew's apartment so they can have adventures together with Timbo. This book teaches children a valuable lesson about the importance of imaginative play and sharing with others.
A boy doesn't listen to his mother and opens up someone else's mail, which is illegal. I liked the ending, though. That was nice of the girl. Artwork was swell too.
When Andrew opens a package intended for his neighbor, he discovers a magical plush friend who takes him on daring adventures. But what will happen when the neighbor claims the box? Reviewer 9.
