The continued relevance of the Founders’ words—as revealed in this unique, meticulously crafted work—is a clarion call to defend our natural rights that will both stun readers and leave them celebrating America.

“I was not disappointed in the least! The book is written as a speech to the nation, composed of the actual words spoken or written by many of the Founding Fathers and a few others … This book will move those that are thrilled with the history of our great nation, and give courage to stand against the tide wishing to drown our incredible history with undue criticism and scandal. This book will renew your love of how our country came to be, the benefits we derived from these great men and their lofty ideals, the promise of a new nation conceived in liberty.” -P. Creery

Author Steven Rabb gives depth to the current conversation and ongoing debate about America’s founding ideals, beginning the book with a modern-day telling of the Founding Fathers at Independence Hall, reunited once again to debate the speech they must write to save America today. Their resulting work is the rest of the book, The Founders’ Speech to a Nation in Crisis , a fast-paced read that moves from one themed chapter to the next, taking on current topics that range
In The Founders’ Speech , Mr. Rabb has created a masterfully presented work and a single source of “best of” quotes that has quickly become a beloved nightstand fixture that will be cherished and shared for generations to come. Readers who add this timely book to their shelves will gain a deepened understanding of the God-given rights of man, along with the virtues and duties required in a people who seek to retain them.

“The unity of this book is powerful, but the most impressive aspect of the book is the fact that the figures who arose from the enlightenment saw precisely the kinds of challenges which we face today.” -Richard B. Schwartz, Professor of English, The University of Missouri

Not what I expected

As I read this, I kept reminding myself that it was supposed to be as a speech being given to us by the scribe. I found it to be too "patchy" to be read as such. As much as I enjoyed reading the quotes from the Founders (and others) and certainly found valid and interesting perspectives, I feel this work is too contrived for me. All of these quotes are taken without context and arranged to meet the topic being presented. There just seems to be too much opportunity for better works to express what the author was trying to accomplish.

Cut & Paste Job

I had two problems with this book. First, it seemed like the author cut quotes of speeches and written works. Second, the sources weren't just the founders but Bible verses and some European philosophers. It's essentially poorly put together propaganda.

Can I stand up and cheer?
This book is most definitely what The United States needs to hear today!
I know I personally grew in my understanding of the principles that birthed our country, and The Constitution of The United States.
Our Nation’s Founders were brilliant men and women with foresight and fortitude. They courageously spoke what needed to be heard then and what still needs to be heard and spoken today, before we lose the right to do so.
I believe this should be a textbook in every single High School and University in the United States. Where it is not only read, but openly discussed, so these historic words can be dissected and throughly understood, rather than just skimmed over.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves The USA! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

must read for all American citizens!!!

The founding principles, as voiced by the founders of our great nation are as relevant today as they were over 240 years ago. Every legislator, every government employee, every public servant, and every citizen should carefully read these words to truly understand what God established here and what The United States of America is truly about, and to escape the thoughts and ideas of the progressive socialists trying to destroy it. Liberty now! Liberty forever!

This book is drawn from quotes throughout history, not only those of the founders, yet all words are applicable today as indicated by the subtitle, ‘To a Nation in Crisis.’ The author has taken care to move smoothly from one quote to another with very few added phrases to make the ‘speech’ cohesive. I am giving this book to as many people as possible; it is important to remember not all all founders were always in agreement; likewise this book represents pure American principles which should not pertain to one political stance or another today.
One note regarding my own reading experience. The prologue and following few pages are necessary to describe the format of the book; I would add that they are also the most difficult pages to push through. Otherwise, I find myself wanting to memorize long passages to apply to the state of our nation when watching the news, etc. As Thomas Jefferson is quoted, “Sadly, nothing can now be believed which is seen in the newspaper. Truth itself becomes suspicious by being out in that polluted vehicle…” (p. 66)

This book confirms what I knew about the Founding Fathers. That is they had hindsight, foresight, religion and intelligence to make this country the greatest in the world. Today’s politicians have absolutely none of the intelligence or allegiance to this country and are buffoons, criminals and traitors. They do not represent patriots and have politicized everything. They have divided us, they have created unsustainable debt and are so incompetent as to make third world countries look desirable. Time to stand and remind everyone how politicians have bastardized and corrupted everything they touch. It is up to Patriots to take our country back . We shall not lose this great country, especially at the hands of such men and women who devise to destroy this nation. Not on our watch Patriots!

This was a good book - abundant in wisdom from a host of historical figures. That being said, it lacks context and reads as a first draft. Each chapter would have been well served to begin with a brief narration, explaining the players within that chapter and the situation from which their words were pulled. A similar narration upon close of each chapter connecting the words to present day society would have tied it all together and taken this from a good read to great, maybe even exceptional. As such, 2.5 rounded to 3 because of its potential, albeit missed.

This is quite possibly the worst book ever written. The way this author played with partial sentences of some of our Founding Fathers and completed these sentences with partial sentences of others, including his own (!) , should be illegal and certainly not published.

To attenpt to create parallels to the words and our current political climate is ludicrous at best.

This book should be classified as Satire.

This is not light reading by any means but the author does a decent job of pulling together various writings of the Founding Fathers to establish a vision for what they believed Ametica should become. Their vision truly was exceptional based on the Enlightenment principles of liberty, personal capability and natural rights under God.

This morning, I finished Reading THE FOUNDERS SPEEH TO A NATION IN CRISIS. I found it a very good book to read. Although, it was a little choppy. It was choppy, because the author used quotes with very little narrative to address the subject of the chapter. Not every quote was from the founding fathers, but nearly all were.

Should Be Required Reading Throughout the United States

Wow. I have utmost respect for the Founding Fathers, & I definitely think we are a nation in crisis. It is truly impressive how their words ring true across the centuries. I thoroughly enjoyed this book (though it's a lucky thing I read the Kindle version, as my highlighter would've run out of ink were it a hard copy), well enough that I intend to buy a paperback version to keep around for easy rereading of favorite quotes & to help spur political discussions with close friends.

I read at least one review in which someone was complaining because Abraham Lincoln, who is not a Founder, is quoted. That person said they couldn't continue because of his inclusion, but if you read the Introduction, you will understand why Lincoln, as well as other great minds who existed both before & after the time of our nation's founding, is included.

The introduction sets up the premise of the book, which is as follows: the Founding Fathers have been resurrected & gathered together in present day to write a speech that will inspire our nation to come together, to stop this partisan political war & work together for the good of the country, lest the United States fail while we fight within. To this end, they have access not only to their own thoughts & writings, but also to those of other wise people who have had something to say on the subject of liberty, across the scope of time.

To name just a few of the folks whose quotes are included: Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, Benjamin Franklin, Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau, Charles Dickens, Friedrich Nietzsche, John Locke, & John Hancock. And those are only the ones I can recall off the top of my head. Quotes from those folks are then woven together into a remarkably relevant commentary on the state of our nation, & a suggestion regarding what actions we must take to save it.

I would like to emphasize that the book itself is nonpartisan. I believe it can be read by Democrats or Republicans (or any other party, for that matter), & equally enjoyed by both (though they might choose to interpret the words differently). The point is not to call out who is right & who is wrong, or to place blame with one side or the other. The point is to start a conversation about the fact that the American Experiment is failing, & how we might still save it if we can stop the infighting, remember that which is great about our nation, & work together to restore the Republic-- or even raise it to never before seen heights.

The Founder's Speech should be required reading in every American home. If you are a political buff, or a fan of American history, or just a concerned citizen like myself who hates to see the country so divided, this book will resonate with you.

What Our Founding Fathers Knew

This book provides insight into the profound wisdom our founding fathers had regarding government of the people, by the people, and for the people: of freedom and liberty versus tyranny and despotism. It should be required reading for all high school students. It is an easy, compe

Required reading for all Americans

Please put this book into the hands of all Americans but especially the young. We need to teach the children of this great land that our country and our freedom is precious and needs to be loved and respected. It is through the young that we can teach generations that this country needs to be protected from those whose oppose freedom and justice. This book will teach all who read it to cherish what our forefathers fought for and knew would be difficult to maintain. Read it and pass it on and make it a generational commitment of adherence to liberty for all.

Outstanding compilation!

Although fictitious the author did a wonderful job. Being an avid reader of history I can fully imagine our forefathers and thinkers sitting in a Pub with a tankard of ale having these conversations. Alas, I know far to many that need this narrative! Although certainly taken out of context, it is well put together and enjoyable to read and listen. Each quote is a reminder of fortunate we are to have had such great men and women!!

The founders’ words could have been written last year

I was so amazed at how current these thoughts from our founders and others sounded, for today’s crisis. We all should be listening! The book had so many good, useable quotes that it’s worth it for that. If you have it on Kindle, you can “search” easily, too.

The Founders’ Speech to a Nation in Crisis

In the author’s note at the beginning of this book he explains that this is more of a compilation of words said by our forefathers. He has chopped up various speeches of well-known historians to combine into this one book. I was not readily impressed but gave him an extra star for his effort.

These are words out of time, not timeless words. The founders were men of their milieu and had little insight into their own assumptions as the most privileged humans of their environment. The author misuses their words to present a view that all would be well if only we would conform to the supremacy of white, straight, Christian, propertied males and bow to their will in all matters of property, business, and commerce, as well as religion, home economics, social order, and decision-making. No, this book does a disservice to those men who pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor. This book fails to contextualize these words and acknowledge the glaring inequalities that swirled around them. A multicultural nation is harder to govern precisely because it grants freedoms to a wider diversity of people. This is America's greatest strength: unity in diversity.

"But all are equal parts amazed at society's progress, and disturbed at the loss of its liberties."

This is a foolish interpretation of an important concept - the ways in which we have strayed from the ideals of the nation's founders.

How can an author begin a book by decrying the loss of liberties from a time when humans were bound in slavery? He begins the speech by citing the Christian bible, a choice intentionally made a different way by the Founding Fathers, who insisted on the separation of Church and State.

This is not a book to be taken seriously by anyone who thinks with care about liberty.

This book addresses a number of topics by simply using each subject as the title of a chapter then skillfully weaving in quotes from the Founders that cover these areas. Anyone familiar with the news of the past several years would see how this wisdom addresses the present day. The information is timeless but also shows how far America has strayed from its auspicious beginning.

Most of the numerous sources quoted were from the founding generation. A few, such as Abraham Lincoln came along much later but still add considerably to the narrative.

The author does an excellent job with this deeply-researched work.

I think this is the most thought provoking book I have ever read. So necessary for this time in our democracy. I pray a person, Steven Rabb, or someone as knowledgeable will soon present himself to the American people so as to become our Presidential candidate fir 2024. Otherwise our democracy will be forever lost. Thank you for writing this essential book.

Amazing work

I am so thankful to Mr. Rabb for putting this book together. His knowledge of the Founder's words and his genius in putting them into a cohesive unit is an amazing piece of work. If we had only read and studied the words of our Founders and taught their words to our children, our Republic would not be in peril.

A book for the Nation to read.

All citizens of our country should read this.

Especially if you love this country as I do.

Our Freedoms are at stake now, this books shows a pathway to unity.

We the people own this land not the government.

After waiting in great anticipation for my library to acquire this book - per my request - I was sorely disappointed. First reason is the inclusion of many quotes from other people,e not considered the Founders. Second, the format stunted my interest so many times that I put this small book down and almost didn’t finish it. Much hype, not much else.
