“And Neil has always been similar to sunshine, with the glow and the warmth that orbit around him like planets, but now, with the way Neil's lips burn against Andrew's, Andrew is almost certain that there's a part inside of Neil that's made out of starlight.”
scooping out my eyeballs bc i will never read anything as beautiful and perfect as this
The fic was amazing. When I was reading All for the game series I kept on thinking why would Andrew do this or that and this fic answered all my questions. You have done an amazing job in capturing what went inside Andrew's head eveytime. Must recommend to all Andrew Minyard lovers and all ATFG lovers in general.
Counting this fan fiction as a read because it was at least 800 pages. All three of the AFTG books combined in one, but told from Andrew’s POV. Which I desperately needed in my life because although I love Neil, the boy didn’t know love if it hit him on the head. At least not until the end. With Andrew, we got to see the fallingfallingfalling and it was beautiful.
I loved every second of it, you have written such a reliable and wonderful pov of andrew. as a "pov andrew obsessed" I can only say that this has been for sure the best one I've ever read. you have written every detail and obsessive little thing that make andrew who he is in such an attentive and unique way, I really appreciate the effort that must have taken to imagine, for example, andrew's mind when he was on medication. and you have written such long chapters that nora could have only dreamed about. I really don't know what I'm going to do now except re-reading it for the millionth time. thank you so much <3
I haven't read fanfiction since... I mean, it has to have been a decade, but I'm so obsessed with The Foxhole Court that when I saw people talking about this fic from Andrew's POV and how perfect it was, I had to give it a try. And you know what? I'm so impressed. I just re-read AtfG literally two weeks ago, but re-read it again WHILE reading this to see how it lined up. Honestly, I had a great friggin' time-- best choice. The author nails Andrew's personality perfectly and it is so interesting seeing Neil from his POV. Just... honestly the best.
It was an unforgettable experience, i really needed to get Andrew's perspective on what was happening in the books. Thanks to this, I am able to understand his behavior and feelings, especially when he was on medication. I will definitely read it again.
You might argue that this was not the best depiction of Andrew out there, but it was all I could think about during the couple of days I spent reading it, and it still haunts me around to this day. It was raw and poetically beautiful at the same time, and oh the stars. Forever grateful for ao3 and authors that kindly share their works in there with us measly humans.
Also, at this point, I don't reckon I'll ever be able to let AFTG (and the sequels) leave my blood stream, not anytime soon at least, so thank you so much to everyone that contributes with their amazing art and discussions about characters and fanfics and playlists. They just keep feeding my brainrot and I just love fandoms an unbearable amount.
Andrew Minyard, what a tiny sturdy man you are, deserving of all the comfort, love and respect you can gather in your hopefully long and happy fictional life.
Besides the occasional typos/grammatical errors, this was incredibly well-written and it felt very genuine to Nora’s depiction of Andrew as a character. Would reccomend to any AFTG fan
I'll say this is surprisingly good, honestly, considering that I'm unable to read most AFTG fanfiction (out of a personal preference). I think my biggest gripe with this isn't in the content, since the scenes from outside the canon narrative felt really authentic, and Andrew's internal monologue was pretty much on-point. My issue was that a lot of scenes aren't described in much detail, or little things get skipped over/omitted/forgotten, and as someone that hasn't read the books in a while, this made it really hard to know what going on most of the time. Like, when did this thing occur? What character is talking right now? Who is in the room right now? Where are we situated? When did this one thing change? I also wasn't getting a lot of impact with someone of the biggest, most dramatic scenes. In general, some of the impact feels dampened with a lot of the reveals, just with how the writing is, but I wanted to point out in particular the very significant scenes with 1) Drake, and 2) Dr. Proust. Both those scenes should have been really horrible to read through, or at least been gestured towards in a more significant way, but instead I feel like they breezed past, and I was told, not shown, of the impact these had. I am not saying I want a detailed r*pe scene, but I feel like if you read through both these scenes, you'll get way I mean. They feel very vague. Although this fic goes heavy on the fire metaphors and I've seen some jokes about that, I kinda like them, especially when it ties into how Andrew is always playing with his lighter. I also thought the romance was really well done, since it's subdued enough to feel legit, and Andrew interest isn't incredibly strong, like I've seen in a lot of other alternate-POV stories where the love interest is absolutely obsessed with the main character and might not always feel realistic, but it's still evident here and progresses very naturally. Perfect!
If you love all for the game by Nora Sakavic, you will love this fanfiction. It is the entire all for the game series told from Andrew's POV and it hits hard! After reading this, I went back and reread the original series, and having his POV in mind made different moments hit even harder, especially the Baltimore events. Great fan fiction!
I thought the books were missing something. I felt a little disappointed that we never got to see an Andrew POV in them and when I heard about this fanfic, I swore to read it. I am pleasantly surprised to see that it captured Andrew so beautifully. It helped me understand him more and I honestly love this version more than the original books:)
this DESTROYED ME. Not okay and never will be. I’m adding this to my goodreads because 350k words. So. Andreil has my heart and this fanfic added so much to the story. I cried probs 5 times and I cannot express my deep love for Andrew and Neil. Literally this is amazing.
