The third and final novel in the Supernatural Misfits Academy series co-written by Amber Lynn Natusch & Marty Mayberry.
Maddy and Cece thought taking on the Council and destroying Wadsworth’s secret power source would free them, but now they’re stuck in a possessed building—one using the bodies of fallen classmates to relay its demands. Even after a harrowing escape, the girls quickly learn it’s not over yet. To defeat the being trapped in Rhys’s former family home, they must discover why his family lost both it and their magical gifts, as well as the role Aidan’s parents played in the evil plaguing Wadsworth.
But tragedy, deception, uncertainty, and betrayal plague the four of them as they work together to uncover the truth behind the reformatory. If they don’t set things right or shut it down—they’ll become its final victims.
AMBER LYNN NATUSCH is the author of the bestselling Caged series for adults. She was born and raised in Winnipeg, and is still deeply attached to her Canadian roots. She loves to dance and practice Muay Thai―but spends most of her time running a chiropractic practice with her husband, raising two young children, and attempting to write when she can lock herself in the bathroom for ten minutes of peace. Dare You to Lie is her debut YA novel with Tor Teen.
This is the last book in the series and I figured I'd be giving a higher rating. The only reason this doesn't have a higher rating is due to the fact that you couldn't figure out if it was Maddy or Cece talking because the authors seemed to mix them up or something. The story was great, the action, the plot, a lot of different aspects made this book enjoyable, but the character mix ups drove me nuts.
I absolutely loved this series. I love Maddie and Cece’s relationship and watching them grow throughout the books. This series was intense but filled with laughter and tears and the ending was everything I could have asked for! I am going to miss these characters.
Favorite Quote: “Well, this can’t be good,” Aidan said as he walked out to the parking lot. “This can’t be good at all.” “What can’t be good?” Rhys asked as he followed him out. The second his eyes fell on us, he ground to a halt. “Nope. Not good. Hugging is rarely good—”
Amber and Marty killed this book. . Such a great ending to the series. Lota of action and adventure!! They even threw a few surprises that I disnt expect. . This boom will not disappoint!
