A Pocket Full of Pie
Meera is jogging in the park with her friend Becky. Meera needs to rest and sits down on a bench. Becky jogs ahead. There is a man on the bench across from her. She talks to him. He doesn't answer. Then she notices a piece of pie sticking out of his shirt pocket. She goes over to him and backs away. She runs to catch up with Becky when she comes across another jogger. She tells him what she saw and he goes with her to have a look. The man is dead. He is a regular at the diner.
Rumors say the pie was tainted. People start canceling pie orders, then Thanksgiving dinner reservations. Who is behind these rumors? Meera and some others think it's the owners of the new eating place across from the diner? Meera is going to find out. How will she do that?

Here's a title I love (Must Love Murder) and a wonderful collection of stories that showcase the talents of author Leena Clover. Jenny King and her beachfront restaurant stories offer unique situations, great characters, and delicious food served with her sleuthing. She succeeds at solving some pretty odd mysteries as well as making yummy foods that the reader can practically taste. Luckily author Leena Clover includes some recipes in each book. I have to confess that although I don't solve every murder before Jenny, I have made and loved several recipes throughout the series. You won't want to miss this set!!

Good mysteries but disrespects the police

The stories were good, but more editing is required. Also, the books put the police in a bad light and make them appear heavy-handed. Arresting a person because they were the best choice and nothing looking into all of the possible suspects? I was very disappointed in the portrayal.

Enjoyable book

I liked reading this set of books from Leena Clover. I was familiar with four of the novels, having read some of the author's series, but the story featuring Meera Patel was new to me. There were familiar characters and, some others who interacted beautifully with each other.
A very good read at a bargain price.

Very simple books. Each book made law enforcement look clueless. A couple books did not tie up some loose ends, most likely to make you buy the next in the series.
After reading the first book, I should have stopped but thought I would give the author a chance. Will not be reading any more books by this author.

Boring

I found this first book boring, with immature dialogue. The characters were shallow and uninteresting. I cannot even muster enough energy time try to finish the series.

This was a good cozy mystery. I think I was just reading too many at this time or it would have gotten a better rating. Maybe I will wait awhile then read it again and write another review. It was just too much same old same old for me at this time. But the recipes were wonderful.

Enjoyed this “boxed” set very much. Visited “old friends” and was introduced to new ones. Will certainly look forward to more by Leena Clover.
