April MacFarlane wishes her best friend, veterinarian, Brant Wylder would see her as more than another rescue. Someone he might choose for his own happily ever after.
Can she convince him the only thing in need of rescue is her heart?
Brant knows April’s life is a mess, and figures the last thing she needs is her BFF hitting on her. After all, he just extracted her from a loveless marriage, gave her a job, as well as a home for her and her four-year-old son. Plus, she’s got to be freaking out over the sudden return of her first love, the man everyone believes came to win her back…
There’s no way April’s ready for love.

I had so much fun writing these two! There's also something about those old-time oddball laws left on the books in small towns across North America. (It was fun adding one to this story. I won't spoil it and tell you what it was!)
If you enjoy friends-to-lovers and elopement romances you've got to try this one out. Plus, we have a veterinarian hero who's a cowboy and a single mom who's fallen head over heels for this man. (To make things awkward--he's her ex's brother! But don't worry. No love triangles and everything works out just fine.)
Brant Wylder and his lifelong "best friend" April have been lurking on the fringes of all of the Wylder stories earlier in the series. In Sweet Elopement, they finally get a chance to tell their story. It's not always a pretty story or even a happy one, but that's what makes it so compelling. Life sometimes gets messy and for this newly divorced mother of a 5 year old son and her cowboy/veterinarian friend to lover, boy does it. Jean Oram puts them through their trials with an objective compassion. We can't help but feel sorry for their troubles, even though they are, to a large extent, self-inflicted and, through it all, we, as readers, have faith that "good things happen". If you're a romance lover, this friends-to-lovers story is a must read.
Brant and April have known each other most of their lives and Brant has always been there for April when she needed a shoulder to cry on or anything else she needed. Now that April has left her husband, she and Brant have the chance at a HEA but first they have to admit they have feelings for each other, more than friends. Kurt, April's son, is so cute and he and Brant have such a great relationship. I love the idea of a New Year's Eve elopement. The Wylder brothers all make an appearance in this book and I love the way Jean Oram brings in characters from her other series and winds the stories together, it is like catching up with old friends.
The Cowboy’s Sweet Elopement is book 4 in the Cowboys of Sweetheart Creek series by Jean Oram and what a great continuation to this series.
We read about Brandt and April in the prior books and now that April divorced he is determined to get out of the friend zone and into a couples zone. Somewhere along the way, things develop and they find themselves at the local chapel on New Year’s Eve...question is do they or don’t they get hitched?
Pick up this book and find out what happens to Brandt, April and family!
Small town life, everyone knows or thinks they know all about each other's life. I enjoyed following the ups and downs and curves life sends us. Finding out how to communicate and have forever love! Love Jean Oram's book

I loved this story (especially Kurt). From start to finish it holds your attention. It's well written, with strong, loveable characters and an interesting story. A wonderful addition to the series.

I'm really enjoying this series and the characters of Sweetheart Creek. I loved April and Brant's story. I had been waiting for their story and it didn't disappoint. These two had been best friends since childhood but couldn't seem to see that they were made for each. A captivating read that I read straight through.
I was glad to read April and Brant’s story. There has been something going on between the two in previous books, but I wasn’t quite sure what. April has been on the Wylder farm since she was young and her father worked on the farm. April and the oldest Wylder brother, Cole, dated and fought off and on. The last fight she told him she wanted time to herself which was five years ago. April has hated that she has always been impulsive, and especially so when she got together with Heath and pregnant after Cole left. I know it was hard for April always fighting with Heath, but wanting was best for her son. Brant is one of the good guys that will do anything for anyone. He has had a crush on April for awhile and he is there for her when she finally leaves her husband and gets a divorce. I hated that she felt Brant was always trying to rescue her, and she wanted to feel like she could take care of herself. I felt bad for Brant as he just wanted to do everything he could to help make life easier for April. It is funny how two people can look at something and see things completely different. I know you will love Brant, I sure did. I strongly encourage you to read this book. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.
Brant Wilder is the town veterinarian and fixer of all broken hearts. He has known April MacFarlane all their lives and has always cared for her. April is struggling to take care of herself and her young son Kurt, she has a very unhappy marriage and desperately wants out. She has also had a special place in her heart for a certain veterinarian and best friend. Both wanting more than just friends but she is very freshly divorced. Just when they finally get a chance, not one but two wrenches are thrown at them. This is such a sweet story, throw in a cute kid and you just can't help but fall in love. The Cowboy's Sweet Elopement
Another awesome book in the series. Brant and April grew up together on the Wylder ranch and have always been close. Now, the time is right for them to begin a relationship. Their elopement is spontaneous and they have a lot of hard work to do to reach true happiness as a married couple. After many false starts and misunderstandings, they finally achieve their HEA. I love this series and can't wait to read Cole and Jackie's story next.
I loved this couple. I also like that their misunderstanding isn't one that could've been cleared up by a simple conversation. So much of it was caused by their own insecurities and mind-set that without first accepting some things about themselves a conversation wouldn't have helped them.
