“Britfield & The Lost Crown was conceived as an idea over 10 years ago while enduring a boring finance seminar. It started as a sketch of a hot air balloon with a young boy and girl trapped inside. From this simple drawing sprang the entire concept and story for Britfield.”

C.R. Stewart received a Bachelor of Arts in British Literature and European History from Brown University; did post- graduate work at Harvard University; earned an MBA from Boston College; and is pursuing a Master of Science in Advanced Management and a PhD in Strategy.

Now based in San Diego, C.R. Stewart is a strong supporter of education and the arts. He enjoys world travel, reading, riding, swimming, sailing, tennis, and is currently on a National School Book Tour with Britfield & The Lost Crown speaking to students on the importance of creativity!

One of the most awarded and successful books in fiction, the Britfield & the Lost Crown series is transforming literature and education while bringing encouragement to children and families worldwide. With the first of seven Britfield movies in development, the Theatrical Play (January 2023), and the Global Book Tours (2023-25), it is estimated that Britfield will surpass the C. S. Lewis and Tolkien series in worldwide sales and impact. The first live-action Britfield movie is projected to become one of the highest grossing films in cinematic history, rivaling the original Star Wars (1977), ET (1982), and Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (2005). The 7-book series (England, France, Italy, Russia, Asia, South American, United States) will be followed by 7 extraordinary movies.

The second book was even more exciting than the first. There wasn't a moment that went by without anticipated expense.

I am amazed by the courage of Tom & Sarah as they went from place to place across countries while running for their lives. All of the characters were interesting and played an important part in the plot.

The storyline is amazing, the characters engaging, and the historical elements and descriptions of the countries, transported me there with them. I felt like I knew them all personally.

The ending wrapped up most things nicely but left some interesting questions, I can't wait to find out in the next installment. An absolutely entertaining read that I couldn't put down.

The much anticipated second book in the series. I recommend you read the first book Britfield & the Lost Crown first. There is an overview in the prologue but you will appreciate the story plot and the characters reading the first book. Both books are pretty amazing.

Tom and Sarah are finally in France. They are on the search to find out more information about the Britfield family. It's not an easy task when you are fleeing for your very life.

Many new characters to meet and old friends in the story. I like stories where the character has a lot of depth to them.

The story has a lot of twists throughout to keep the story a page-turner. a lot of adventure that weaves through the pages.

I love the description of the places in France. You can see in your mind the streets of Paris, the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, and other exciting places. I appreciate the history learned in the book about the places.

Like the first book, the ending left you wishing you could start in the 3rd book in the series immediately.

The book can be ordered in all formats: paperback, hardback, ebook, and audiobook. In the first book, we had an audiobook and it was well made with voices for each character.

I highly recommend this book. It can easily be read as a read-out-loud for elementary-age kids. There might be a few scenes that might frighten them with the plot if you have sensitive kids. However, the book is a wholesome read for all ages.

I Disclosure: I received this complimentary product in exchange for my honest thoughts.

This book is sooo good! Britfield & the Rise of the Lion by C.R. Stewart is book two in the Britfield series. I reviewed Britfield & the Lost Crown and couldn't wait for the second book to be released. This is an amazing book. The research Mr. Stewart put into it made it a book rich with descriptions. The intricately detailed plot made it a page turner filled with action, adventure, and deep political intrigue. And yet, this exceptional book is written for young adults and teens. I think it would be well-received by ages 13 on up through adults. There are plans to make the first book and subsequent books into movies. They will be first-rate action movies.

I don't want to give the plot away, but while reading, one learns geography, art, and gets a hefty dose of political conspiracy theories as well. It's intense in some scenes, but there are honorable characters as well as heinous characters.

I found it truly fascinating. I highly recommend this series. I think it's good for both girls and boys, but I think boys will eat it up. After all, there are weapons and altercations involved.

If you've got a teen who likes action, I'd put this series on your shopping list this holiday season.

5 stars

f you have not read Book 1, Britfield & the Lost Coin, then stop right here and do NOT read further as you will encounter spoilers!!

After a harrowing escape from the clutches of the nefarious guardians criminals that were running the orphanage, Tom and Sarah are now residing at a monastery where monks have taken them in. What at first seemed a kindness, has become yet another prison as the children are forced to work and not allowed to leave the abbey. They soon begin plotting yet another escape. Thankfully one of the monks is sympathetic to their desire to continue their mission in trying to find Tom's family.

So begins the next chapter in their harrowing adventures. The two friends soon reunite with Oliver, the college student who had helped them in book 1. But when it turns out that Oliver's uncle is one of those intent on stopping Tom by any means, things get very complicated--and dangerous.

Book 2 is full of intrigue, betrayal, gunfire (lots of gunfire), explosives, kidnapping and more twists and turns than a corn maze. Loyalties are tested, courage is forged, and readers will be on the edge of their seats as Tom gets closer to finding out the truth about his past and possible future (as long as he lives to see it!).

This is an exceptional series for middle-grade readers but will be enjoyed by adults as well. Grab copies of books 1 & 2 and stay tuned for the continuation of the Britfield adventures in book 3! You can read the first two chapters of the first book on the author's website. While there, be sure to check out all the great information about characters and locations within the series.

Six months have passed since their adventure in England, Tom and Sarah have been trapped at Mont-Saint -Michel monastery after being taken in by the monks when their ferry sunk off the coast of France. Thomas is now in charge of cleaning the refectory while Sarah organizes the huge library, neither are happy with their lack of freedom and chores. Concerned about whether their friend, Professor Hainsworth survived the ferry mishap, they plan their next escape. Before being separated from the professor, Tom and Sarah were headed to Castle Chambord to locate news of any surviving Britfields, and maybe they'll also find the professor there waiting for them.

Having been freed from the island monastery and alone on the streets, Tom and Sarah attempt to make contact with Inspector Rousseau from the Paris police, Detective Gowerstone provided them her information as a reliable source to contact if any trouble should arise. Before Sarah and Tom are even able to make contact, they are forced to flee when an assassin begins to track them down. Just as things look bleak, Tom and Sarah are reunited with their friend Oliver from England. Narrowly escaping the assassin, Oliver proposes they go to the Louvre where they might find documents about the Britfield family. From there the trio are on a fast paced adventure across the streets of Paris, taking them to sights like Cathédrale Notre-Dame, the Eiffel Tower to Bordeaux and Lyon.

One of the things that I've so enjoyed about the Britfield series thus far is the way that the author draws you into the setting, there's a strong feeling of being immersed into the architecture, geography, history and culture of each new setting. From the description of buildings, to the tidbits about each landmark. Always enough to peak your interest without a dumping of information. Balancing entertaining with factual. The author had hoped to encourage children to appreciate the arts while reading exciting stories including these elements.

In the first book, Tom and Sarah visited many of the landmarks of England, including Windsor Castle, Oxford University, Canterbury Cathedral etc. This time they're in and around Paris, a city one day that I would love to visit. It makes me want to sample some brie with bread and have a cafe' au lait while reading along.

If the first book was about Tom and Sarah, this second book was about them encountering a new foe, "the committee," and Tom learning more about his link to the Britfield's. I think that's the biggest change that I've noticed from the first book, Tom and Sarah dominated the first book, and had to rely on each other to escape the orphanage and evade Detective Growerstone. They did receive some assistance from the professor and Oliver, but it seemed more informational. The second book felt more about their connection to the people around them, mostly the adults who were helping them. Detective Growerstone, Professor Hainsworth and Oliver are still present, but they're now joined by Inspector Rousseau, The Archbishop, Oliver's uncle, the Resistance fighters and many others. It sometimes seemed that Tom and Sarah took a back seat in these instances, although logically it made sense because of the amount of help they needed, especially as the secret society began to ramp up their attack on Tom and Sarah.

Rise of the Lion was also more action based then I recall in the first book, it kind of reminded me of a James Bond film where there's a global conspiracy, corruption, and a secret society bent on taking over the world. Bombs, high tech gear, military style operations, drones and even a kidnapping and rescue attempt. Yeah very exciting there toward the end of the book. I quite enjoyed the direction the story took. Interwoven into the book is a sense of camaraderie or family. Sarah and Tom, even Oliver see each other as family, with a strong bond of friendship and loyalty toward one another. They continue to be in danger, especially Tom because of his connection to the Britfield's and although Tom isn't closer to finding his parents, I can't help being excited for the next book in the series, Britfield and The Return of the Prince to see what happens next in Sarah and Tom's adventure. **Thank you to C.R. Stewart for such an entertaining and exciting story and to Devonfield Publishing for the ARC paperback for my review.**

From my daughter....I am excited to share my review of Britfield and The Rise of the Lion, by C.R. Stewart. I read book one last year, so was very excited to get a chance to review an early copy of book two!
Tom and Sarah woke up in a monk’s sanctuary and the monks separated them, but Bro. Michael helped them escape. This story has a great plot that twists a lot. My favorite character in the book is Sarah, because she keeps a bright side to things.
My favorite scene is when Marcel tried to chase them on the Eifel Tower and how in that mess, they found their good friend.
My favorite quote is when Goverstone said “My life is always in danger,” but I felt he took the risk for Tom and Sarah because he felt bad.
I also love that no matter what was thrown at them, they still had a strong friendship. I really loved this book and give it five stars!
This is great for middle school readers and above, so get this on your book list to read when it releases July 4! P.S. Can’t wait for book three!!

More accurately I’d rate it a 3.75 stars (the writing style wasn’t my favorite), but since it got exciting towards the end I rounded to a 4! I wasn’t interested in anything about this book until 150 pages into it…but to be fair this is the 2nd book in the series and I’ve never read the 1st one lol 😅 but once I got interested it was a really fun book — the action packed pages cracked me up (even though I don’t think that was the purpose), but the cringy-ness of the action added to the enjoyment

Thank you to the author of Britfield C.R. Stewart, for the ARC copy of "Britfield and the Rise of the Lion". The Britfield series fell into my lap last fall when I stumbled upon the audiobook of book #1. I was hooked and could not stop listening.
Book #2 did not disappoint!

Tom and Sarah are now in France as they continue to find more information about the Britfield family and to also protect their lives. They are able to connect to old friends and allies on the path, but also make new and lifelong friends.

What I think it so wonderful about the Britfield series is how accurate the sites and history information in the series is. Mr. Stewart has done a great job researching the areas and sites.
I will be highly recommending this series to my students and family friends.

I am actively counting down to book #3 next spring!

We’ve been waiting for Britfield & the Rise of the Lion, the second book in the Britfield series, to come out! Book two picks up right where the first left off and has you hanging on the edge of your seat. Tom and Sarah are still trying to figure out how the clue Britfield relates to Tom and the British throne and why so many people are trying to stop them from finding out, including an assassin that chases them through the streets of Paris!

If you’re looking for an attention grabbing book with lots of unexpected twists and turns your middle schoolers won’t want to put down, then you need to grab a copy. This book is well written, fast-paced, action-packed, and sure to hold their attention! We thought it was amazing and worth the wait!

This is an enjoyable book written for preteens and teens that adults can enjoy also. There is a lot of action throughout the story. I love all the descriptions of the scenery and some of the history of England. Some of the conspiracy theories seemed to be a little over the top at times but the story is very good. My favorite characters are Sarah and Gowerstone. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I received a copy of this book from the Britfield institute for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

Another fantastic read from C.R. Stewart. Full of mystery and adventure. I did not want to put it down. I thoroughly enjoyed the story about friendship, loyalty, and courage with accurate geography and history interwoven throughout. It ended on a cliff hanger and I look forward to series three in the Spring of 2022.

The first book was charming middle grade fiction with a hint of mystery. This book was trying to do too many things a once, including extensive history lessons that are longer and more common than necessary.

Powstanie lwa. Seria Britfield. Tom 2

Polecam całym sercem, polecam każdemu dziecku, młodzieży którzy lubi akacje, kaskaderskie sceny, no i walkę o dobro ze złem. Uwielbiam takie książki.

Please note: I received a complementary copy of the book in return for my honest opinion.

Our oldest son does not enjoy reading so when we read and reviewed the first book in the series I was very happy that he enjoyed it tremendously! According to the first book, this second book was to be published in the fall of 2020 (I know this because he would periodically check). But like everything in 2020, we had to wait a little more time to read Britfield & the Rise of the Lion.

The wait was well worth it!

After a concise prologue that recaps the first book, we dive into what has happened to Tom and Sarah over the past six months. We quickly join them on the journey to Paris and meet up with Oliver again. (Who would have thought that Oliver who helped them in Oxford would be in Paris?)

While I do recommend parents pre-read or at least skim through the book prior to giving it to their children, I think many pre-teens and teens would greatly enjoy Britfield & the Rise of the Lion. It is an action-packed book that quickly moves from location to location as Tom and Sarah seek to remain safe and free from the secret organization known as the Committee. There is some violence as gun battles take place been the good and bad guys but I did not find it overwhelming detailed in specifics of injuries or blood and gore.

After finishing the book, I happily passed it along to our oldest. I can't wait to talk to him about the plot points and how the fight of good versus evil is woven into this tale.

We are back with Tom and Sarah as they navigate through many twists and turns in Paris before heading south. They find new friends and some old ones, however they find new enemies too and lots of them. The story is fast paced and leaps from action to action but there are quieter moments in which we see the characters’ personalities grow and develop. The situations the Britfield contingent find themselves in are improbable and that is part of the charm of the story. Book 2 builds on book 1, and the magnitude of overall story begins to take shape. If it were a film, think National Treasure crossed with Kingsman and added dose of Spykids.
My only criticism of the book is the constant need to refer to names of weapons, it seems out of place in a children’s story. There are casualties, the usual henchmen, which are dealt with appropriately for a middle grade book, but the attention to detail with gun names is grating.
Overall, the dynamic between Tom and Sarah is well written, both have skills that save the other throughout the tale, which is refreshing. I will be reading book 3, looking forward to it.

Overall, I found the story arc more engaging in this second book. Having the additional characters together with Tom and Sarah during the unfolding story helps this.

Stewart knows how to keep things suspenseful. Like the first book, the story takes the reader on a wild ride across vast landscapes, covering many literal and figurative miles. Reading this book is one part history lesson, one part geography lesson, and one part global conspiracy lesson. For this, I have given a generous four stars.

The stark weakness of this book is the same as the first. The dialogue is not great. In places it is really distracting (maybe overall less so than the first). The narrator overshares about what characters are thinking, wanting, and expecting while at the same time the characters remain flat. I don’t leave a scene feeling like I really know any character better. We’re told what the narrator wants us to know but without being drawn to know the characters. This is unfortunate.

I’m in the story now. So I’ll have to read the next book.

This book was amazing I had to read it this school year for a competition but even if I didn't have to I would have still read it the first one have me hooked and craving to find out how the story continues and who woulda thought that it could've gotten even better. Usually the second book is the worst because the author is just wanting to make more money and push something out. this would cause the readers to loose interest and not want to continue but this book didn't it lived up to the first book and was over one of the best books ever it has been a while since I read a book/series this interesting. I've loved reading this book and would recommend the series I read it so quickly because I loved them so much.

Woah!!!
Book one was a fantastical race with good people and evil selfish people as the two sides.
Book two is a whole another animal!
If you like Jason Bourne and the Taken movies, you'll like this book. Non-stop action. Lots of gunplay. Lots of bad guys dying. Then throw in a bunch of conspiracy theories, clear world views, transhumanism, super soldiers, divine intervention and you've got book two.
I had no idea where this series was going.
Although it is not great writing, it is good and there is still tons of history, geography, and culture to be learned. I read it with my phone next to me so that I could Google something on almost every page. It's an education inside an amazing adventure.

We couldn't wait to read the second book in the series. It is very action packed, but a little predictable. The children are nearly captured and quickly get out of harms way over and over again throughout the book.

The writing is wonderful and the descriptions of the historical facts and locations allow the reader to visualize the setting quite well. Overall, the book would be great for an upper elementary/middle schooler who loves action packed suspense novels. The size of the book may be a little intimidating, but it is a fast read. It would be a great read aloud for the whole family.

Our family enjoyed the first Britfield book, even though it was rather far-fetched a lot of the time. After reading this second one, however, we have decided we are not interested in reading any more of the series. If I had known what this book would be like, I would not have gotten it. We did not enjoy the gun battles and bombings that are described in great detail, and I skipped over a number of scenes like that, and one describing a demonic, genetically-engineered being when I read the book aloud.
I received a review copy of this book from the author, and these are my honest thoughts about it.

If ever a book (series) was lovely, this is the one. A dark tale of fiendish plotters whom controlling the media, military, & law enforcement!?! Who can be toppled by a 13 year old! And the glorious countryside they are traveling through, chateau’s, castles, up & down the Eiffel Tower, if ever a series made we want to shuck the living room & travel, this is it!

Wow! This feels like historical fiction. It's not a period piece, but it's so real it feels like he's teaching us about a history that has been kept from us. It feels like a James Bond, with a larger cast of characters & with a greater purpose than one MI6 spy ever had.
I'll be starting the next book tomorrow. I'm looking forward to finding out what happens next!
