Centuries later, he’s back. Death didn’t change his hatred of the English, it sharpened it.
Betrayed by the leader he’d given his loyalty to, Harry Crighton is looking for a bit of revenge. He’ll start with picking a fight with the English.
Daphne always has a plan. Smart, and maybe just a bit nerdy, she’s worked hard to get where she is. But suddenly nothing makes any sense! She’s gently turning down marriage proposals while trying to stop someone from killing her young boss. And Harry is the last man she intends to hire to keep him safe.
It’s too bad her boss has other ideas. And it’s too bad it turns out they really do have to work together to keep him alive.
Can first impressions lead to second chances? Will Daphne find that nothing makes as much sense as falling in love? Can Harry discover the biggest threat he’s faced is a happy ending?

Daphne is personal assistant to tech billionaire, Oliver. Strange things keep happening, which she interprets as attempts on his life. He brushes them aside as coincidences until a group of four men jump them with knives. An unlikely ally, Harry, jumps into the fray, and ends up being an additional bodyguard for Oliver. I loved how Harry trained Oliver instead of just defending him. He helped him learn how to defend himself. I also loved the sparks between Harry and Daphne.
Content: clean (mild innuendo-Harry was raised in a brothel, a few minor curse words-d and h)
Diane Darcy has her own IP Vault that's as special as anything Harry is set to guard after meeting Daphne and becoming a bodyguard.
What a delicious tale with a new twist of fate to tease another ghost along his way. Harry has such a carefree, outgoing personality with a wonderful excitement for discovering the little fun things in this new improved world.
Enjoy feeling Daphne let go at work, fall in love and discover relaxing into joy again.
Another good addition to this series. Every story is different . This one has a real modern feel to it but with the usual echoes back to the battle where all these ghosts died.
I have read and enjoyed all these stories as soon as they are released. The only part I missed was not enough Wickham (I have always loved his sarcastic comments). Will Oliver ever get a hea, perhaps with the ghost?
Harry, an angry ghost rescued from the moor found his self in the right place and the right time to naturally use his fighting and his charm to win new friends and his lady. Enjoyed his charming personality!! Can't wait for the next one!
First book of 2021. I adore this series and since the reckoning the tone of the series has changed. Harry is less of a highlander in the series sense but he retains all those highlander qualities. Another 5 star character.
This is an excellent addition to the series. Even with the past anger that he carries and someone intent on killing Oliver, Harry is fun and brings fun to others around him. The epilogue is especially good.
Another of the Ghosts of Culloden Moor gets their story told. I enjoyed Harry and Daphne's story. It had a bit of humor, action, mystery and of course romance. I liked the secondary characters too and hope they might get a story of their own.
I've read all of the Culleden ghost stories so far. This was a cute story but a bit silly in places. Don't take my word for it, download it and enjoy yourself.
Very well written and excellent story telling. I love the personalities of all the books characters. Always excited to read another in this series. This one left a character or story with a question mark at the end.
I liked this book about Harry, because he seemed more realistic than some of the other ghosts who had come back. I enjoyed the story about Oliver and how he interacted with Harry and his love interest.
I enjoyed this book like I’ve enjoyed the other books in this wonderful series. I was disappointed Soni didn’t show up at the end. I believe Harry has become one of my favorites. On to the next book to fall in love with the next of the ‘79.
Read this at a pace that will allow you to enjoy the energy, the intrigue and the building romance. Allowing myself to sip a cool Irish Cream and Chocolate Snaps to nibble, as I read didn’t hurt either!
This is a little different than most in the series as Wickham was only mentioned at the beginning & really not in a good way. Nonetheless I really enjoyed the book & as usual looking forward to the next.
I wasn't quite sure at the beginning but several pages in, I was wrapped up in it a d loved it. It made me laugh and I loved the characters and story line. Five stars ! Now on to the next!!!!
I absolutely loved this story! I read it all in one after. I just couldn't put it down. The romance mixed with the who done it was fantastic. I loved the Scottish proverb at the start as well. "Be happy while you’re living, for you’re a long time deid."
I love all the books in the Ghosts of Culloden Moor series. This one was especially good. Glad his story worked out for him, after being a ghost for nearly 300 years.
I like the stories Darcy writes. I like her characters and the plot of this book. This series keeps me entertained and wanting the next. Looking forward to it.
