Sometimes the one you throw away is the one you need the most... Kelsey Cain was determined to make her dreams come true even if that meant leaving the safety of her small-town fiancée with barely more than the clothes on her back. Several years later, and with only a couple of bit parts under her belt, her career is about to take an unexpected turn. Being a production assistant on The Catch, a popular pseudo-reality dating show, has finally paid off. There’s only one problem, a familiar face of her past is standing in the lineup. Tucker Barnes isn't looking for love. He gave up on that long ago. The only reason he agrees to be a contestant on The Catch is for the paycheck and the exposure, both of which are necessary for the survival of his family’s farm. When he made the decision to expand he never thought he’d find himself here, looking into the eyes of his past. Can Kelsey and Tucker hold on to each other without abandoning their dreams or will love slip through their fingers once again? This novel is about second changes, steamy reconnections and risking it all for love.
When I left Indiana for Hollywood, I didn't look back. There's only one thing I regret about leaving- breaking Tucker's heart.
Landing the lead on a dating show feels like my big break, but when I see my ex-fiance standing on the stage, I start to wonder if a chance at stardom is worth as much as the love I threw away.
Tucker doesn't care about fame or fortune. He's only on the show in a desperate attempt to earn money and exposure to save his family farm. Seeing me wasn't part of the plan, but when the producers find out about our past and turn it into a storyline, he grudgingly plays along.
I know that the romantic dates and sweet nothings are part of the script, but sometimes, the way that Tucker looks at me gives me hope that he's not pretending.
I still want to be an actress, but I want Tucker too. Do I really have to choose?
I liked premise but characters were difficult to really fall for especially the contestant. First for giving Tucker oral while her "date" was passed out next to them...that was awful hard to understand why it is in the book and in the hospital where you get interrupted every 15 minutes they manage the horizontal Mambo....I'm amazed I finished reading this at all. I did like the Italian contestant so maybe in his book the girl won't be so "easy" in such cheap ways. (Or at all!)
Fun premise though!

Well written and enjoyable escape from reality. The heroine was not too perfect the hero had flaws the antagonist got his comeuppance and everyone lived happily ever after! Can’t wait for Derron’s Story!! Great job Avery throughly enjoyed this!
I got this book from Amazon when it was free. I think that it is the author's first book. I enjoyed the premise and had a lot of fun reading it.
The book is about Kelsey Cain, a wannabe actress who ends up as the main contestant on a dating show and her ex-fiancé, Tucker Barnes, who winds up on the show to raise money for his farm (seems like there would be easier ways but...). Tucker and Kelsey never really got over each other, and the book is about them reconnecting.
My favorite character in the book was Derron, Tucker's friend.
This is a good quick read. I enjoyed cheering for the “good guy” to get the girl and the glimpse of what reality tv most likely is. The Tucker and Kelsey had lots of chemistry. I also fell in love with Derron.
I really enjoyed this book, the storyline was awesome and the characters were amazingly well thought out . I finished it so quick and that’s my only negative on this one . I am looking forward to reading what’s next.
More than a reality show. You get a second chance romance tangled up in what I am sure is real.life like documents of a reality show. I loved this read
