Cadence Lightbringer has everything. The prestige and power that comes with being the Angel of Storm Castle. Her archangel husband and soulmate, Damiel Dragonsire, Master Interrogator in the Legion of Angels. And their son Nero, a miracle of magic, the first and only child of two angels.
But the Legion’s mission to exterminate dark magic brings trouble to Cadence’s door. What begins as a mission to apprehend a rogue angel escalates into a hunt for ancient relics that will turn her life upside down—and shake the very foundation of the Earth and every other world in the domains of heaven and hell.
Ella Summers has been writing stories for as long as she could read; she's been coming up with tall tales even longer than that. One of her early year masterpieces was a story about a pigtailed princess and her dragon sidekick. Nowadays, she still writes fantasy. She likes books with layered plots, lots of action and adventure, and a touch of romance. When she is not busy writing or spending time with her two young children, she makes the world safe by fighting robots.
Originally from the U.S., Ella currently resides in Switzerland. She is the author of Sorcery and Science, a fantasy adventure series set in a world splintered by magic and technology.
Aaaaand that sums up my feelings perfectly. I mean wtf?!!! I skipped the first part, cause it was boring the house! And the second part was all right, till the 70% marker. Then it just went downhill, again. And don't even get me started on the ending. I mean seriously?! What the hell was the author thinking, huh? Totally not cool or acceptable. And it's no secret that I'm not fond of Cadence's character. What a twat. A goddy doer in the worst kind. And totally too trusting. She's just a horrible character that I wanted to kill, preferably by beheading and blowing up. But just when I thought I got my wish when she fell in the volcano, nope, my hope was shattered. If she's in the next Legion of Angels book I'm done! I do have a feeling that she's going to be the word mother in law, that's for sure! Damien can stay, the rest of this book characters', except Pandora and Nero of course, can take a hike straight to hell and stay there indefinitely! Thank you.
I came late to this author, and I started her in her Legion of Angels series. Now we are at the third book in the Immortal Legacy series, and I just can’t get enough. Cadence is such a fascinating character, and I love the interaction between Damiel and her father. I was engaged throughout this whole book because it’s filled with such great action, unexpected twists and turns, and an excellent plot. I loved how it ended, and I am anxious to read more with all of these characters. You should read the Legion of Angels series, books 1-8 maybe first before reading this series, but it is so worth it! Highly recommend! I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
Okayish. So much was going on that it became a bit messy, and by the end, I was just
I loved the time jump tho and what little we got to see of 10-year old Nero. Overall, I didn't feel much for this series and the couple. I never really got invested in their love and their story also felt a bit half-hearted, like it only served to lay the groundwork for book nine in the Legion of Angel's series.
We finally find out the circumstances that led up Nero's Parent's faking their deaths, who's idea it was, 'why' it was the only course of action they could take & how Cadence, his Mum & Damiel's Wife, went missing for 2 Centuries!!😲💔😭💥
Fear & paranoia are running rampant throughout the Legion. Damiel has become darker & more disillusioned after losing his best friend during his Archangel Trial. He can't quite reconcile the Gods callousness!💔😡 His light is brought, & kept in his life, by Cadence and their now 10 yr old son, Nero. He's the 1st child born of two Angels.😇 He's strong, cunning, smart & clever. His parents absolutely love & adore him!😍
This is a slick & clever story. I loved how it answered all of our questions from Damiels past whilst we got to know both him & Cadence better.👍 I'm so glad it's brought us up to date with the 'Legion Of Angels' series timeline.😍 I thought, with that, there would be more interaction between her & Nero & even Leda, I was disappointed there wasn't!!😔 I hope that will be rectified in Book #9 of that series.🙏😍
There were some huge surprises in store as things were finally explained.👍 I wonder how it will affect the Gods??😳💥
I wanted to love this book. Maybe my expectations were too high because I’ve enjoyed previous books so much. I’m not sure, but for some reason it was a slight miss for me. For example, when the main characters reconnected (after so many years apart!), I just didn’t feel the emotion like I hoped. It was like the plot was so complicated and so much was going on, that the emotion was lost in the story. I mean, the plot was very clever, which was good, but I expected to feel more emotion as a reader. Maybe I just need to come back and read it again with more realistic expectations, but yeah, I didn’t love this one like I expected to.
I want MORE Leda. Cadence and Damiel are alright. The latter more than the former! But Leda Pierce is Awesomeness Personified. KickSassness' Embodiment. I REALLY REALLY want to know when would Legion of Angels #9 be released. It is marked as "To be Published in 2019" and like I have ALREADY posted a question for LoA #9 which remains unanswered YET. "2019 Came. 2019 Conquered. And 2019 ran the hell away ! Any news on this book 'To be published 2019' ?"
PS: I have binge read this series. PPS: Again. PPPS: So, Fangirling may or may not have been the reason for my Slight decrement in my Usual Fabulousness in this review. FYI: I am talking about LoA series. Not Immortal legacy. And we might as well blame me fangirling Legion of Angels in an Immortal Legacy book on the above cause.Thank you very Much. I am going to stop before my slightly decremental ways change to dorky disaster-ish.Hehe
Such a good series. Unfortunately I always forget what has happened in previous books. Will need to re-read both this and the Legions of Angels books when it is completed.
The story was fantastic. The storyline really flows. Cadence and Damiel are great together. I really loved Cadence’s father, Silverstar in this story. You see how much he loves his daughter. Also, I love when Silverstar and Damiel interact it is funny.
This book picks up 20 years after Angel Fury. In the first half of the book we get to see Nero as a young child which was awesome. We learn a lot about his child hood. We see how much Cadence and Damiel are will to sacrifice for their family. The second half of the book reveals so much information that leads into LOA 9. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
This is a must read. I totally recommend this book you won’t be disappointed.

Heather's Notes So this book brings Candance and Damiel to current times. It also made them keepers/immortals which is cool and interesting. I will say I like the legion books better, nothing against Candace and Damiel, I just prefer Pandora and Nero. Still I enjoyed getting the back story and hope we will continue to see them in the Legion books. I am also glad that Candace's father is still alive.

I really enjoyed the first two books and was into the third and felt the "tightness" come apart. I felt the author wanted the series to end, so everything was solved, explained, discussed - too fast - during the last pages. Cadence was gone for 200 years and when her dad sees her - no reaction until pages later. What? Nero married and then gone from the story ... Jumps between thinking friend, enemy, then friend were a bit confusing and awkward. Definitely gaps that weren't filled and others explained too quickly. I am a retired teacher and read 2-3 books a week. So with this series I went from Book One to Book 3 in a week. Even with no down time, I had trouble figuring out empty holes in the story, the power pyramid - like gods versus guardians versus immortals versus keepers versus angels ... The Princess of the Demons was introduced during the last pages - and I am not sure why. Anyway - good read but could be better/tighter.

"Angel Fire" was amazing and original, "Angel Fury" was decent and good enough, "Angel Fever" is... an amazing tragedy.
First of all! I loved this book, it was an amazing time and it has some pretty awesome parts in it. Having said that! Here's the thing.
If you read this book you'll notice that it's basically divided into 4 parts: The first part is amazing and almost perfect. The second part is really something great. The third part is fantastic. The fourth part is... OK at best.
This is an amazing book, the story is great and it's a really good entry into the Immortal Legacy trilogy, the only lacking part of this book is the ending. It feels very anticlimactic and dull. That ending is the only reason I don't give it 5 stars.
But don't let my words stop you from enjoying this amazing fantasy saga. I still love these books and found them to be absolutely incredible.
Two-part story. Two different times. Nothing is every easy for Cadence, even basic plans become complicated and dangerous.
Twenty years later, Cadence and Damiel’s son Nero is now 10 years old, the first child of two angel parents. Cadence’s dad and Damiel are still not getting along. When Damiel gets wounded a group of rival group of angels create a coup against him declaring him a traitor. When all is done Nero is an ‘orphan’.
Two hundred years later, Cadence is unwillingly living in a hidden Guardian sanctuary who have a plan of racial extermination. She has to find a way to escape, so she can get back to her family, find and destroy the sixteen Immortal daggers and save the Earth.
Fave scenes: exploding the rock skeletons, Nero arguing like his father, Cadence escaping Raven, Cadence’s talk with her son and the design of Cadence’s father’s ship.
Wow! I’m glad the last book caught up with the Legion of Angels series. It really rounded out all that had happened between Damiel and Cadence. This was a brilliant series. Just wish there had been some Damiel POV too. Highly recommend.
This book had so many convenient happenings. Someone was previously dead? No worries, there's some reason to bring them back. Someone was a traitor? No worries, there was a plan all along. It was all rather unbelievable.
I enjoyed seeing Nero in this book. Candence really faced some terrifying trials, and got put in a very long time out. I really hope that we will see more of them in the Legion of Angels!
2 Stars 2023 ⭐️⭐️ 🎧 I don’t know, this just feels really flat for me. I mean it answers more questions from the main series but I’m just not that invested anymore with so much going on. This author is just doing too much and don’t know if she even have the end goal in mind.

Really enjoyed this series. It connected well to the Legion of Angels series, with all of the cross-over characters, but was it's own separate series. It delved into the backgrounds of the characters, while focusing on main character of Cadence and to a great degree her husband Damiel. It expanded on their stories, with lots of interplay between the Legion of Angels and other newer characters. Suspense, drama, blood, guts and gore as well as highly touching romantic scenes, showing the softer side.
Very nicely done. It really shows the depth of Ella's imagination. This should be a 'don't miss' read. Thank-you very much.
What begins as a mission to apprehend a rogue angel escalates into a hunt for ancient relics that will turn her life upside down... And shake the very foundation of the Earth and every other world in the domains of heaven and hell...
The background of this couple is amazing and so very intriguing. Loved reading it from the heroine's perspective and now I am so impatient for the next Legion of Angel story.
Full of gods, powers, action, adventure, angels, secrecy, surprises, truths, danger and romance.
Perfect for readers of paranormal romance/urban fantasy.
It's good but the weakest of the 3 in this series in my opinion. The story is good and conclusion very interesting but A LOT happens. Because so much happens the story feels rushed. The beginning felt a little messy too. In general, I was surprised the characters didn't evolve more. So many years passed, and I'm glad they picked up right where they left off, but it's impossible to believe things would be exactly the same. The writing is great and I'm definitely going to keep reading but it felt like this book needed to be 2 books in the end.
I like that the books follow a storyline, but in segments. This segment is a really good read. Seems like it gives some background to Legacy series. I really like Ella Summers writing style. The women are strong, as strong as men in ways that only women can be. The men are equally strong in male ways. She highlights what some think of “weaknesses” in either sex as a great achievement of balance in power.
The revelations happen in one endless dialogue. Yes, Ella Summers can write wonderful dialogues. Snarky with lots of humor. And the idea is good - twist inside twist - trap inside trap - feint inside feint. Buuuut. There aren't enough hints. The characters don't discover every piece. No it's an endless revelation in one dialogue. The same thing happend in the main series. I think book 4 or 5. And it's still frustrating as hell.
An excellent end to the trilogy & set up for the next Legion of Angels installment. As always, Ella Summers does not disappoint! Her stories are full of adventure, magic, passion, friendship, & love w/ memorable & endearing characters. Can't wait for her next book!
