The fourth book in the USA Today bestselling Asheville Brewing series.

A grumpy man. A recovering people-pleaser. And the secret club that brings them together.

Lee Buchanan is a hot mess.

Turning one’s father in to the feds can do that to a man.

He had nothing to do with his father’s Ponzi scheme, but he’s blacklisted from commercial real estate all the same. Which is how he ends up in Asheville, working at the brewery he inherited with his siblings. He’s salty as hell, and he doesn’t care who knows it.

Until the gorgeous, intriguing Blue Combs issues the most peculiar invitation he’s ever received: Come to the Bad Luck Club. We can help you.

It sounds like a cult or, worse, a group of Mary Sues, but Blue is different from any woman he’s ever met. For better or worse, he’s drawn to her.

Just like she’s drawn to him, even if she has no intention of going all in with another man. She’s been there, done that, twice, and the life she’s built for herself is too important to risk.

What starts as one person’s desire to help another turns into a connection too powerful to be denied—but can two broken people grow together, or will they tear each other apart?

Who is this Lee and what happened to the cranky man he used to be? This Lee is so much more open and loving I almost couldn’t believe it. Thanks to Blue he gets to be the man he was meant to be.

Lee Buchanan is the most angsty of the Buchanan siblings. He's been living under his father's thumb for so long that he doesn't know who truly is or what he wants in life. After turning his father and ex fiance in to the feds he finds himself in Asheville working at the family brewery with the rest of his siblings.

Adalia and Maisie's friend Blue Combs decides that Lee is the perfect candidate to join the bad luck club. These 2 may be broken to start, but in their journey to rebuild themselves they find luck within each other.

If you've ever felt lost and broken after a relationship (or relationships) have gone bad you will totally be able to relate to Lee and Blue. These 2 have an amazing journey around self discovery and it makes you want to be a better person too. And if you're currently experiencing the after effects of a bad break up (from family or a significant other) you may even find a couple tips to help you deal with it.

If you haven't read the first book in this series, go do it now before you read this one! You won't regret it!

I was so excited to get my hands on this baby. I've been wanting to know what happens at Bad Luck Club since Blue brought it up, and I wasn't disappointed. Much like the Buchanans, Blue managed to find a beautiful, eclectic family that is chosen, not made, and Lee, while skeptical, seems to be a perfect fit. These two broken, incredible people have major pasts to overcome, but the journey they go through to get their happy ending is alive with such sweet moments and a whole lot of getting in their own ways. As they both struggle with trust and being who they are meant to be, the relationship that grows is tender and romantic. They fit each other's broken pieces so beautifully that they end up a whole puzzle by the end. Another great addition to the Asheville Brewing Series, and another drastically different couple that keeps the interest nice and strong!

The fourth and final book in the Asheville Brewing series follows Lee and Blue.
The Lee we have seen in the previous books is a little different than the one we have come to know now. Which is understandable seeing what he discovered in the previous book. I don’t think anyone could come out of that unscathed. The character growth we see in Lee was incredible. There were some hilarious scenes sprinkled throughout the book and I was happy to see Dottie.
The Bad Luck Club was refreshing and I loved a few of those characters, especially Harry. It was nice seeing several relationships heal and loved them all coming together. The plot twist was great as I truly didn’t see that coming, and I enjoyed the epilogue. Overall it was a enjoyable read and I’d recommend this series to anyone who enjoys reading romcom.

I was so looking forward to Lee’s story. Of the four Buchanan siblings, I feel like Lee was the most emotionally abused and needed the most healing. It was good to see him break free of the hold his father had on him and to try and mend his relationships with his siblings.

Overall it was a great end to the series! It was good to see the all the siblings happy with their significant others and Dottie’s love for all of them. They’re finally the family they’ve always wanted to be.

Lee and Blue is my favorite couple now though I love all of Buchanan's expanded family! Loved Lee and Blue's journey to find the true themselves and each other. This story hit home in more than one way for me and that makes it more special. It's hard, I would say impossible to live up in the mould shaped by people who are supposed to love you unconditionally. That makes you a grumpy unhappy person you are not really when you don't fit in those expectations. Luckily that Blue and Lee have found the very needed push and support in each other to overcome their insecurities and failures in the past. People deserve second or even third chances even if they don't believe in such possibility of being happy ever.
I loved Dottie even more than before. Her eccentric wisdom is something else!
The ending of the story was a little bittersweet but awesome!
Looking forward to read about more people in Asheville! So promising and exciting!

Lee and Blue might be my favorite couple yet! This sweet tale explores the idea of finding something you didn't even know you were looking for.
Lee is a grouch who seems to be pushing everyone away, though he is inexplicably drawn to Blue. Blue wants to help Lee, even though their first encounter leaves something to be desired. Neither can deny the chemistry they feel, yet their past hurts prevent them from being open about their feelings for each other. Both of them must learn to embrace the person they want to become instead of who others expect them to be.
The Asheville Brewery series is so much fun, I love the returning characters, especially Aunt Dottie and the fur babies! I also enjoyed the new characters. One of my favorite themes in books is friends becoming the family you were not born into. I loved how the members of the Bad Luck Club come together and look forward to learning more about these characters.
Thank you to the authors and BookSprout for the opportunity to read an advanced copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

We are finally at the story we all have been waiting for. Lee and Blue. Side note: I can't wait till you find out her name.

This book shows us the struggles Lee had growing up along with his accepting the adult changes he has to make. Along comes Blue with her bad luck club and self doubt to save the day. They both have problems to work through. With the help of a few friends and a club of misfits they both comes through this as better people.

I felt this story was what I needed for closer. They all had troubled past and I'm glad they all have came through this series better then the beginning. Not giving 5 stars bc it did have a couple slow spots that lagged the book just a little. I also got a little upset with how Blue treated Lee in some parts. I chalk it up to not knowing how to treat people she cares about. But everything else as a whole was Good.

This is the fourth book in this series and I have been waiting for Lee's story since the beginning because I felt there was just something more. Blue and Lee are perfect together. I think this is my favorite out of all of the books.
Each story draws you in and makes you feel more like part of the family.

To preface, I tried to love this book. I felt each story in this series got better as they went, but this book just didn’t do it for me.

Lee Buchanan is the eldest of the siblings. At the end of book three, Better Luck Next Time, I felt that Lee’s story would be powerful. I was intrigued about how the authors were going to pull this arrogant jerk into a lovable character. Then Blue Combs, she had this air of mystery about her that I couldn’t wait to find out more.

With those points of interest, I was not impressed to say the least. They both had potential, but it didn’t work. Blue did many things that I felt was outside of her true character. While she has to do these challenges to get out of her comfort zone, some of the scenes she causes just doesn’t seem to fit her. It’s one thing to stand up for yourself and be confident, it’s another to become a completely different person. Which is also what I felt she expected of Lee.
Lee had been taught to hide his emotions and be brutally honest. As he now knows, he can’t be that way, nor does he want to be. But I felt Blue wanted him to change completely who he was, rather than just becoming a better person. And that takes time. Not days or even weeks. Something that’s been engrained in him for more than half his life, isn’t like a light switch. He told her he would mess up, to bare with him and call him out. But she didn’t take heed.

Their communication was poor and lacked maturity. Simply speaking to one another would’ve solved a lot of issues. There was conflict when there wasn’t needed to be. Instead, they went without communicating or jumped to conclusions before knowing the full picture. I think I struggled to connect with Lee the most because he was such a jerk in previous books and he just couldn’t redeem himself. It felt forced and fake. (Well aware these are fictional characters).

Parts of the story had so much detail that it became annoying, but other parts that needed detail, lacked. The redundant use of “big” words was a pet peeve as well. They often didn’t fit the characters nor the story line.
While I’m not a fan of third person point of view books, if written in a way that lets the reader go on the journey with the characters, it’s fun and can be enjoyable. This one felt like you were being TOLD a story, rather than experiencing it yourself.

This is definitely not a rom com story, more of a contemporary genre. I’d love to give this story more stars but I just can’t find it in me to do more. I’m happy in parts that Blue and Lee had personal growth and that they got their happily ever after. I’m sure I’m in a small group that is outside of the norm who didn’t like this story, so give yourself a chance to read it and form your own opinions.

I was so excited to read Blue and Lee’s story. Given the way their first meeting occurred, (*cough* vomit on shoes *cough*), I was interested to see how they could build a romance from that. I was also really curious about the “Bad Luck Club.”

Although I sort of had an idea what the Bad Luck Club was, I was not prepared for some of the things they do at their meetings. But it made for some hilarious hijinks. (Although I wasn’t a fan of what they did to Lee at his first meeting. You’ll have to read to see what I mean!)

One of the things I liked most about this book is that it was a bit more steamy than the others. Maybe it was just me, but I felt like we got a little more glimpse into the smexy times. And I loved it. I also loved watching two broken people find refuge in each other. They didn’t “fix” each other, but their broken parts fit together to make a whole.

Although I LOVED the twist at the end (seriously – so good!), I did not love Lee’s reaction to it. I think it might have just been a remnant of his old personality, but I feel like he should have come further by then.

But overall, I’m a sucker for a guy who wants to be a better person for his girl, and Lee definitely gets there. I’m going to miss the Buchannan siblings so much. They have become like family to me. I know there are other spinoffs planned, and I can’t wait to see some of the other characters find their happily ever after!

Another cute and sweet book in the Ashville Brewing series. I enjoyed it but I didn't love it as much as the others. I loved the characters but the romance seemed a little rushed. Not necessarily forced but Lee needed more time to change without his father's influence and Blue was expecting him to just snap out of it.

But it was a cute and funny book. I love all the weird stuff that happens with Dottie and everyone. And I loved seeing Lee open up to his family more and grow as a person. And seeing Blue's background was fun too.

The Buchanan Brewery series is very enjoyable. Book four focuses on Lee and Blue. Lee has been stuck in such a dark place, that it was difficult for me to warm up to him. Thankfully because of Blue, we do see another side of him. I enjoyed both of their back stories. The Bad Luck Club are a unique bunch of individuals. I loved the scenes with the entire Buchanan family. I could feel the joy and warmth of their growing love for each other as a unit. Dottie is still the super star and guiding light for them all.

In the first 3 books in this series we’ve known Prescott Lee Buchanan Jr. as the obnoxiously, arrogant brother who has his nose so far up his even more obnoxious, arrogant and narcissistic father’s ass in an attempt to please daddy, he can’t see the forest for the trees. Even though he’s turned himself into his father’s mini-me his redeeming virtue is that underneath it all he really does love his sisters and did his best to help Adalia the youngest, a struggling artist whom their father pretty much disowned because she refused to follow his dictates and chose art school over a more acceptable degree program. At the end of the last book Getting Lucky, Lee discovers his father has been cooking the books at their commercial real estate development firm and setting him up to take the fall if It all goes to hell. If that wasn’t bad enough, he has also been sleeping with Lee’s almost fiancée Victoria who was helping his father with his Ponzi scheme. As this story opens Lee is a little less arrogant and a whole lot more angry and depressed (but IMHO still an ass) because the life he had built for himself has imploded after he turned state’s evidence against his father, leaving him with no money, no job and after his father’s treachery becomes public knowledge, no job prospects in the real estate sales field. Guilt by association. He resents being stuck in little Ashville North Carolina half-heartedly trying to find a niche he feels is beneath him, in the family brewing business Buchanan Brewing, he, his two sisters Georgie and Adalia and half brother Jack inherited from his paternal grandfather Beau Buchanan. At the reading of his grandfather’s will it’s discovered that Beau left his entire estate and the brewery to his grandchildren and not Prescott Sr. his estranged only son. Lee’s father insisted, Lee push his three siblings to sell the struggling brewery. Because unbeknownst to Lee his father was desperately counting on the money from the sale of the brewery to continue to fund his Ponzi scheme. His siblings had other plans. They decided to honor their grandfather’s legacy and run the struggling brewery. Georgie the oldest sibling, a self-made millionaire having recently sold the feminine products business she started in her own kitchen has the cash to refurbish the brewery’s equipment and the business savvy with her Harvard MBA to lead it. Jack who has worked in the bar and restaurant business also has the business acumen to help. Adalia who had been a struggling artist who was betrayed by her former art school professor turned lover joins the family firm to take on a creative role in designing logos and merchandizing and handling their social media while she also returns to her promising art career. In the first book Georgia meets and falls in love with River, the brew master who had been like a son to Beau and is the nephew of Dottie, Beau’s longtime lover. Dottie seems to have some psychic abilities. She also loves to meddle and help people. She has adopted the Buchanan siblings as her own grandchildren and is determined to help them reach their personal and professional goals. To that end she has not only helped Georgie and River find true love but she was also instrumental in pairing Adalia with River’s former business partner Finn and Jack with River’s BFF Maisie. Georgie, River, Adalia and Jack have begun to turn the brewery around and settled into comfortable lives for themselves in Ashville with significant others. With a push from Dottie and a little help from Blue, by the time we’re a quarter of the way through this book Lee literally looks in the mirror and doesn’t like the arrogant asshole looking back at him. Unfortunately a leopard can’t change his spots and ultimately that’s the main reason I gave this book a pedestrian 3.5 stars.
Blue is our female lead in this story. She’d been a minor character in previous stories. Her presence has grown in those stories as she became friends with Adalia and Maisie. Blue is the name she chose when she decided to settle down in Ashville after her divorce from her second husband Remy. Her given name is Enid so who can really blame her? Blue’s father is pretty much a mirror image of Prescott Buchanan Sr. So too was her second husband Remy. Which is another issue I had with this book. Prescott Sr. and Blue’s father and ex-husband are so one-dimensional psychotic monsters they didn’t seem real. Blue’s mother lives a few hours away from Blue in Greenville is bi-polar which she controls with medication. When she takes it. Worrying about her mother is a constant source of stress in Blue’s life. Because of her mother’s illness her father gained custody of Blue when she was a young girl, refused her any contact with her mother, and tried to mold her into what he wanted her to be. Much like Lee’s father did to him. Blue’s father also kept a constant eye on her to see if in his opinion, she exhibited any symptoms of her mother’s illness. Any time she expressed an emotion he didn’t like he attributed it to signs of Blue being sick just like her mother. Since divorcing her second husband Remy, a much older and wealthy man that of course her father approved of for her, Blue’s father has disowned her and refuses to allow her to have any contact with her younger half-sister. After her second divorce Blue whose father taught her to be a people pleaser, who tried to be what her father and ex wanted her to be has determined never to be that woman again. She’s settled into Ashville barely supporting herself with her art and teaching yoga and alimony which is running out. Blue is a gifted artist and yogi but a poor business woman with too generous a heart to charge what she deserves for her art or her yoga classes.
Shortly after moving to Asheville Blue joined the Bad Luck Club, a small self-help group similar to A.A. whose members try to help each other overcome and deal with the emotional issues that cause them to have bad luck. With their help Blue is learning to stand up for herself, ask for what she wants and express negative emotions. In Lee, Blue recognizes someone who is also struggling, lost and drowning. She believes The Bad Luck Club could help Lee. The problem is one of the club rules is you can’t be in a romantic relationship with a member you’ve sponsored to join because as his or her sponsor you are the main member in the group responsible for helping them. Blue feels a powerful attraction to Lee even though she barely knows him. But Blue decides what Lee needs most is her help not her heart and she knows she’s really not in a place in her life to become seriously involved with another man. She’s been dating Dan for several months who literally asks little to nothing of her. He doesn’t require much of her time and isn’t interested in her friends or much of anything going on in her life. Which is something she desperately needed after her controlling father and two ex-husbands. Even though Blue refers to Dan as her boyfriend neither has ever said they were in an exclusive relationship. None of Blue’s friends think much of Dan and aren’t shy about letting her know. When she and Lee have their first meeting and practice “Radical Honesty” a main tenant of The Bad Luck Club where they share their unvarnished histories, she discovers in their relationships with their fathers they have more in common with each other than she knew. After Lee brings feelings of desire for emotional and sexual intimacy to the surface that she hadn’t experienced in years, she admits to herself that she needs to end her relationship with Dan even if neither she nor Lee are ready to begin one with each other. One of the things I’ve enjoyed about this series is the characters all take attachment to go along with their physical attraction before they become lovers. I suspect for Blue and Lee this will not be a smooth voyage of discovery.
Blue invites Lee to attend the next meeting of the Bad Luck Club. He agrees only because he wants to spend more time with Blue. Things go wrong from the start. As they arrive at the meeting Blue tells Lee she’s broken up with Dan and admits she’s attracted to him, but then after a toe-curling kiss drops the bomb that a club rule is that they can’t date if she’s his sponsor. It goes downhill from there. Like most everyone else in Ashville Lee looks down his nose at the members of the club. At this point in the story all we really know about Bear and his son Cal the club's founders is that they are carpenters or wood crafters by trade and that they founded and make the rules for the club. After a brief introduction to the other members of the club and why they joined, I’m thinking to myself some of these people have very serious issues that require more than a little coaching from a couple of untrained laymen pretending to be therapists well intentioned as they may be. In fact from this story its uncertain if they’ve really ever helped anyone besides Blue conquer her issues?
I want to go into more detail about what I didn’t like about this story but I don’t want to spoil it for other readers so I’m going to put the rest of this review in a spoiler. Read at your own risk!

Fantastic book.
I Loved every single chapter of Lee and Blue's story.
They had met briefly in the previous book but in unfortunate circumstances, because Lee was drunk and sick all over Blue's shoes. There seemed to be a mutual curiosity that sparked between them and so this book is the both of them getting to know eachother more.
Both Blue and Lee are going through some bad times and are down on their Luck ...Lee has no job,no fiance, and is at odds with his father. So he decides to stay with his sisters and step brother to help run the brewery they inherited from their grandfather Beau.
Blue has her own troubles and is trying to get away from the fact that she is twice divorced and every relationship she has turns sour, her last husband being so controlling she felt suffocated. She was also estranged from her family her father refused to speak with her and she was banned from being in contact with her sister.
Desperate to change her life she joins the BADLUCK Club and so tries to convince Lee to join the club also. This is were a friendships of sorts begins to form between them, they confide in eachother and start to catch feelings.
Lee is a very difficult character to undertand at first ,he is so grumpy and cynical and calls people out all the time. Not realising sometimes he is belittling them just like his father used to do to him.He has been controlled by his father for years and was influenced by his fathers rules,so I think he finds it hard to connect with people except for Blue.
I Loved the way Blue brought out the best of Lee,because deep down behind the bravado he is a good guy,he is just misguided.
Blue sees something in Lee that no one else seems to ,they are without question attracted to eachother but with them both being in The Badluck club they are forbidden to date because this is one of the rules of the club.
I Loved their journey to Love I found it emotional at times because they both had tough situations in their lives that pulled at my heart.Especially Lee's childhood.
A.R.Casella and Denise Grover Swank have written another addictive installment of this series,it is marveloussly written in a way that you just don't want it to end and are continuously entertained and intrigued.
It's a really wonderful read and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I highly recommend it.

I had a sneaking feeling that Lee and Blue would somehow find friendship, I had not expected an entire book! I knew that Lee was troubled and his sisters are amazing, so there was hope for him. I could never quite figure out Blue. Her past, her name, her art, were all mysteries. By reading this book we gain insight on each of these main characters plus the much wanted scoop on The Bad Luck Club! I feel this was a great wrap up for the brewery series as each Buchanan sibling gets their own book. Your favorite characters each make an appearance, we meet some new ones, and the reader gets a happy ending. Dottie continues to be amazing in her own way and appears to be slightly less eccentric in this story. She seems more believable to me and I’ve always enjoyed her. Great book, fun read, I loved the story.

This is Lees and Blues’ story and man, is it the best of them all! So funny, frustrating, and you can’t help but fall in love with these two.

Lee has been under his dads wing since he began, all he wanted to do was work hard and take over the company.

Blue who is wild, loving and a free spirit made a bad impression the very first time she met Lee.

This book has everything you need and more!!

I couldn't wait to read Bad Luck Club, the fourth book in the Asheville Brewing Series, because the teaser for this exclusive club sounded so interesting to me! I wasn't so sure about Lee's love story, but was intrigued as to how the authors would turn him into a likeable character and give him some redemption. In this book, Lee finally finds himself in Asheville full time working at Buchanan brewery with the rest of his family. Lee and his love interest Blue's journey to a happy ending wasn't always easy, but I thought their ever evolving relationship was a sweet one. This unique couple complimented each other and they ended up creating a perfect romantic balance while overcoming their tumultuous pasts. All of the books in the Asheville Brewing series are feel good stories filled with lots of laughs. I can't wait to see what these authors come out with next.

I love all books by DGS however this one I struggled a lot with. Outside of the third person which I’m not a fan of, I felt there was a lot of back and forth in timelines and jumping around in the story where I had to stop to reread sections to try to stay on track.
Don’t get me wrong, I loved Blue and Lee had his moments but honestly I couldn’t wait until it was over and really am not looking forward to any more of this series.

There were the occasional funny parts and even though it leaned more on the contemporary side vs RomCom, it wasn’t horrible, it just wasn’t working for me.

This won’t stop me from reading any more from DGS but just not this series or spin off series.

I've been looking forward to this one due to how Lee met Blue. Such a memorable scene, but I wasn't sure how a person got past that, lol. Lee also had such a chip on his shoulder about how low brow Asheville was, yet when his life feel apart it was Asheville and his siblings that welcomed him and helped him find himself. I liked the role that Blue played in also helping Lee, with her crazy Bad Luck Club. The club had me laughing, but I liked that while each person was so different, they supported each other and helped them.

I hated the drama that happened in NYC, hated how it seemed to overshadow Addy's big show, but knew things weren't how Lee thought and knew he would realize it too once he had time to think. I just worried that that time would be too long. I was surprised by how Lee laid it out for Blue, brutally honest on his part, but it was what she needed to hear.

The ending to this one had me smiling, loved that Blue and Lee were together and that Lee found his place at the brewery.

BLClub by A.R. Casella and D. Grover Swank is a stand-lone in the Asheville Brewing Series. There are a few cross-overs, so I recommend to read the books in order.
This is Lee and Blue's story.
Lee is the oldest of the Buchanan siblings and up to today he was the devoted, conservative son his father wanted him to be. But now everything has changed and he's living with his siblings in Asheville. He lost his glorious lifestyle, has to start over, but he doesn't know where he fits.
Blue is through a lot too, but she's found her new family, a new life.
Lee wasn't my favorite character, since book one I couldn't collect with him. And don't get me started how he treatened his siblings, not ok Lee, not ok. So my sympathy for his character was limited.
Blue on the other side I fell in insta-love with her character, a strong heroine.
I enjoyed reading this book, loved meeting characters from previous books, A great read, 4,5 stars.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all the previous books in the Asheville Brewing series and this novel is another great addition! I’ve loved Blue’s character since she was introduced and was dying to know more about her past and secret Bad Luck Club. I loved the characters that were introduced through the Bad Luck Club and the idea that family is more than just who you share a genetic connection with. Lee starts off as such a grouch, for valid reasons given his past, but it did take me a minute to warm up to him. I loved the person Blue brought out of him and getting to know the real Lee. Blue and Lee grew so much both together and individually throughout the novel and it was fun to watch as this happened! And as always, we get to continue seeing the previous couples develop and we have plenty of Dottie eccentricity to add into the mix. I adored the bonus scene as well!

At first glance, Lee Buchanan & Blue Combs do not seem to be a very good fit for each other. Lee is stoic, a stickler for rules, and has resting grumpy face. Blue is carefree, artistic, and can laugh at herself at times. Neither of them is looking for any kind of relationship, not even a one-night stand, but fate has a way of stepping in and taking control.

This is one of my favorite books in the Asheville Brewing series so far. I love how Blue & Lee push back against the pull that they feel for each other. It isn't a quick-to-love story, and the characters feel as though they have depth. The story feels more realistic with the betrayals as if they can happen to anyone.

If you haven't read this series yet, you do not have to read them in order. However, the small things mentioned will make much more sense should you read them in the listed order. I highly recommend picking up the first book and getting started on this journey with these flawed yet loveable characters.

Bad Luck Club is book four in the Asheville Brewing series and my favorite book to date. It is the story of Lee and Blue who are polar opposites. Lee is the very unlikeable brother. A real jerk. Blue is the lovable free spirit who everyone adores. Her first time meeting Lee was a disaster. Lee threw up on her expensive shoes and she didn't take it well.

Lee has been under his fathers thumb for years. He worked tirelessly for his father but was never good enough. His father has some shady dealings which lands Lee out of a job and moving to Asheville until he can start anew. Always the hateful, uncaring guy, he has people avoiding him at all costs.

Blue is sweet and kind to everyone, but she has lived under the thumb of her father and then her husband (now ex-husband). She's never truly been able to stand up for herself or be strong. For this reason she joins the Bad Luck Club, a group of misfits looking for a way to fit in. She is there to seek help and strength.

Blue sees good in the unworthy Lee and sets out to help him become his best self. The result is hilarious and sad at the same time. I cried in several parts of the book which is always a good gauge for me on how moving a book is and how much I like it. I loved Bad Luck Club and highly recommend it to those who love a good redeeming love story.

I was sick with covid when I received an ARC of this book, and it was exactly what I needed at the time. Bad Luck Club is the romantic story of Lee and Blue, who can’t be more different in essence, but ultimately find a way to leave their traumatic pasts behind and to discover love.
With the impeccable writing of AR Casella and Denise Grover Swank, the book delves into the pain and anxiety of people who’ve lost their purpose in life, only to rediscover themselves under a new light. It is a story of new beginnings, a story of love and passion, and a pleasant journey with long-loved characters.

Blue and Lee make yet another fantastic couple of the series. While this is a rom-com, I found this book to be more emotional for me. It’s laugh out loud funny, with tender-hearted moments and some pain filled ones as well.

While we have gotten glimpses of Lee throughout the series, we’ve mostly only seen one side of him, the man who is basically his father’s puppet. After the events of the last book, Lee is feeling hurt and betrayed. He is an angry grump and is taking it out on everyone. Since he was a teenager, Lee has just been trying to get his father's approval, acceptance and love. In doing so, he has become someone else. Someone he realizes he doesn’t even like. With Blue’s support, he goes on a journey of self-discovery and becoming the man he wants to be and is meant to be. The growth of Lee is remarkable. He has been holding on to the grief of losing his mother since he was a teenager and when he finally faces it I felt his pain.

Blue sees that Lee is hurting deep in his soul and decides he needs support and help. Blue and Lee end up forming an intimate connection almost immediately, yet both are scared and apprehensive of taking it further. I love how their relationship forms and how they push and challenge each other to grow and step out of their comfort zones.

The Bad Luck Club introduces us to some more quirky, but terrific, entertaining characters that provide lots of laughs. While also, bringing home the message of your family is who you make it.

I love having all the siblings and significant others throughout all the books. Dottie is eccentric and weird as usual, but brings so much to the story. You can tell she genuinely cares about all of them and wants to see them all happy. I love how they all embrace her as part of the family.

This book and bonus scene wraps up the stories of the Buchanan siblings and the ongoing story of the Brewfest. I did catch the hints of who would be in the first book for the spinoff series and I can’t wait. I highly recommend that you take a chance and read this book (and entire series)!!!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Lee and Blue are perfect for each other, as they are both broken individuals looking to improve themselves. They are tired of being manipulated and having bad luck in every sense of the word. They seem to give each other the strength and support they each need to be a better person. The authors were able to portray the feelings of the characters in a realistic way, making it easy for the reader to empathize with them. I think both authors did an excellent job with this series and how they told the stories for each of the siblings. They created characters that readers can easily relate to, whether it is one or all of them.

What I enjoyed the most, is the sense of family and how they were able to overcome the strained relationships they had with one another growing up.

I am definitely loving this series so I'm pretty bummed that this is the final book. I've been intrigued by Lee's story since he was introduced. But also wondering how his story is going to go as he is not the most likeable character previously. In this one, his character has definitely grown and developed better in this one. Both he and Blue did and it was fun to see them get together.

It doesn’t give me any pleasure at all to say I did not enjoy this book. Which is such a shame because I was extremely excited to see how things turned out for Lee. Is it me, and I had too high of an expectation that the authors couldn’t fulfill? I’m not sure but I have walked away disappointed. And it may only be my opinion but this series has not been the best from one of my all time favorite authors. I could go on with a list of reasons why this novel fell short for me, and I believe valid ones, but I’m only going to say I’m deeply sad it’s come to this. Will I read the spin off from this duo, no I don’t think so. One of the biggest reasons is writing in the third person which is a big pet peeve for me. Will I continue to read separate books from said favorite author, yes I’m not giving up there.
