Exactly what I needed to hear

I'm very very new to this new role. And was struggling with justifying feeling. This was exactly what I needed to hear, that I'm actually not alone in these feelings. Some seemed second nature for me, some were actively learned then read about the next day, and some I filed away for a later day cause I'm sure they coming. Thanks for writing this Ashley. It definitely served your intent.

I am about 40 pages in and have to stop. From what I have read. It is, so far, a list of “don’t’s” which is not what a stepmom needs, especially if they’re seeking a book to get support. it feels like validation at times and then quickly moves to judgement and seemingly “old school” mentality of “be quiet and push your feelings aside… for three days” (literally). The author even diminishes her own feelings at the end of each “lesson.” It’s really disappointing.
