A shocking death in the Sinatra family and a Gabrini is to blame. Mob boss Sal Gabrini and his uncle, boss of all bosses Mick Sinatra, find themselves on opposite sides of a deadly battle when Mick the Tick will stop at nothing to avenge what he views as cold-blooded murder. The Gabrinis stick together. The Sinatras stick together. Until both sides realize that more may be at work than meets the eye, and instead of playing each other, they themselves may be getting played.

One would think that Joey would have learned his lesson with all of the crap he pulled in the past. What he pulled this time set the family in utter turmoil. But why? People ought to know by now, one does not mess with the Sinatras or the Gabrinis. What Joey did, almost set the family in a war against each other because of what Dommi did. This situation brought up hurtful memories of the past that drummed up revenge and Mick's realization that he was a horrible father to his oldest children. That alone made him have regrets.
Mallory did it again as she always does. She wrote about an unthinkable situation that the family saw themselves in. They had to figure out what the underlying facts that had them in a tailspin. This book was full of action-packed drama that I just love. I believe after this, the family is even closer, if that was possible. I can also see another book about Big Daddy's son Tony. Will he finally get his HEA with a new woman? I hope so. As Reno said, "every man needs a wife to come home to every night." I sure hope so. It's about time for Tony.
I never thought that I'd be saying this but I think Mallory Monroe is back. When I first started reading this book, I didn't believe Ms. Monroe had written it. There were a couple incidents that didn't ring true. There were a couple of careless grammatical mistakes, unlike the ones that were usually made by the author.
As I continued to read with all of the family appearing, I was reminded of her writing style - the over the top plot, action and drama. Sure, it seems at times that the things she has the characters doing and going through are impossible. Until you realize that with the Gabrinis and Sinatras, nothing is impossible. I was angry about the role Dommi was playing. I never cared for Dommi but blamed Reno and Trina for that. However, his love for his family and his belief in Mick made me change my mind. I do hope he has a chance to really grow up and explore other options for his life.
I'm not sure I like the children growing up so quickly. However, I could see the family's love for each other and how they all cared for all the children. Loved that Mick could see the mistakes he made with his older children, knowing his other children as well his family will benefit from his changes., However, I'm glad that "Mick the Tick" is still looking out for his family.
I look forward to reading other books with the Gabrinis and Sinatras. Those are the only books I'm interested in reading by Ms. Monroe. There's enough unmined in this family that could keep the author writing for years. I will only read books starring members of the Gabrini and Sinatra families.
So, bring the family on, especially Tommy and Amazing Grace which describes her perfectly.
What a rollercoaster ride! Mick, is really a force to be reckon with. He didn't want to hear anything once his mind was set. Poor Dommi, had no chance against him. My heart broke for Dommi, in the elevator science with Mick😥. Joey was a ticking time bomb. I'm still in shock over what happened to him. For a minute there my heart broke over what was Hard I both families. Glad it turned itself around. At the family picnic when everyday mentioned being there except for Kari, and Alex Drakos' son(I forgot his name) what Hattie him? Why wasn't he there with the entire family? Is Tony Sinatra gay? Just asking....It was almost implied, at the family cookout. Will he get a story to the up loose ends?!
Action-packed !! I love mafia influenced books. Sinatra and the Gabrini have a lot of crazy going on in their lives...that's Mafioso. Every character contributed to a great story! I am hooked and so far behind on her books, but i'll catch up. This was a blood War. All because of greed, jealousy and guilt! I love the characters even the villains because they made me wonder ...what in the world? Mick, Reno, Sal, Trina, Roz, Amelia, Teddy, Dommi and Big Daddy will keep me coming back! Thank you Mallory Monroe for your genius. A Rollercoaster Ride!!💗💗💗
Amazing story line, can't get enough of Sinatra's and Gabrini's but can't wait to see what happens next. Love to see who next to fall in love 💘, and who next to wage war with the Sinatra's and Gabrini's 🍻🍹🍸🌆. Dommi hopefully he finds his was like Jimmy did but like that took a lot. 💕💔✊💖👠🍼👣🃏
I love to the Gabrini and Sininatra series, I hope this is not the last of it. All of the character go together so fine. They stand together and they fall together. I hope her next book is about Alex Drakos.
This book had action from start to finish. I didn't want to put it down when I had to get up early the next morning for work. I have a question.... Will Gemma and Sal ever have any more kids???
When I started reading, I just knew some BS was about to go down. I never imagined that it would play out as it did. Wow, this was a good story. I enjoyed reading it; I was on edge, waiting to see what would be revealed.
First my reason for 5 star rating, I so love my Sinatra and Gabrini family story. I was wondering when the next story will appear after finishing with Monk Palletti and Ashley Sinatra story. Glad they are all in sync together.
So Joey has gone and done it, bitten off more than he can chew. He was always acting street bad boy, down in the hood bad boy self, but he was just looking for daddies love. But not this time, Joey met up with bad boy Dommi Gabrini, who has always been like his Uncles. Sad to see Joey was taken off the list like that, by a family member, all over nothing!
Mick Sinatra although not a close father to all his older children still lost a child, his second son. So what does he do, he goes all quiet and reflective which means he is planning. The Gabrini family, goes hiding to protect Dommi from Uncle Mick's anger, which they know is coming. Did it come, Dommi gets caught up in lift with his uncle, no where to run or hide, he tries to explain what took place with Joey but Mick is in full blown Mick the Tick rage and blast out with a beat down on Dommi, but he manages to pull back in time. This time he gives him chance to sit and explain with everyone in family, also bringing on board the two bodyguards who were with Joey and Dex who he met with. So Mick starts to unravel Joey's meet up, but it doesn't go straight.
I loved the tense drama and the unexpected plot taking shape with Mick's original story when he killed his eldest child Adrian coming back to haunt him, and Joey being the turncoat in Mick's house selling off video of him shooting Adrian to protect his love Roz. Wow, just loved it. No bullets can keep Mick down with his legendary battle outfit black pants, turtle neck jumper and long white, now we know 'bulletproof' armed coat. Yes!
Its nice to see in the end, they are still a close knit family, and that Mick does actually apologise! He is human after all, and he does need his family. I know there is more story to tell and take place in Gabrini and Sinatra family, so keeping my eyes open for next installment!😁.
Thank you Mallory Monroe for my Sinatra and Gabrini fix!👍
I read this book three times before deciding to review it. I enjoyed it...but I kept feeling this sense of this book being a set up for bigger things...that the Gabrini and Sinatra family had other shadow foes involved in this plot...this Joey plan felt like a test from their enemies to turn them against each other. I don't believe Joey ---despite being jealous of Dom would go along with trying to kill him...In the first Gloria and Oz book, Teddy talks about how close Mick and Joey had gotten...I don't think Joey would betray his father....also, Mick has people watching the people watching the people in his professional business and his mob business---yet no one tipped him off to Joey's plan to transport drugs using his ships?😞😕 I think Joey was approached since they view him as a weak link in the family...I think he went along with it because he wanted to prevent it from happening and gain more respect from Mick ...and from the Gabrini family...I keep thinking about who that important text Joey received was from...and the fact that he shot Rance--whom I believe was the one who was hired to kill Dom...Dom shooting Joey wasn't supposed to happen...but did Joey really die? I don't think so...this felt like a build up to bigger things. I have never believed that Joey would kidnap Sal and Gemma's kid. Joey going through his child and adulthood with a mother he knew only used him and a father who ignored him----it is not in him to be responsible for anything that would harm a child. Something about the 'mob mortican' made me think my theory had merit...Joey is still alive.
I think the Gabrini and Sinatra enemies are searching for weakness and ways to wreak havoc; to divide and conquer.
If my theory--and I hope it is---Joey needs to find people to be around to further mature him---perhaps if he lost his memory for a while😞😕----he could gain a while new life---with some happiness---before bringing him back into family.
So, I've read almost every Sinatra and Gabrini book MM has ever written with the exception of the Tommy books. She messed that series up with Grace and I have never purchased another Tommy book again. I still dnt like Grace but I've digressed. This was a great read and yes, I'm a biased fan. I love me some Mick, he's my book hubby and I'm so not ashamed... Lol. Anywho, we saw this coming. Once a f up. Always an f up. It was a long time coming but I'm glad she pulled the trigger. He had it coming and that's all I'm going to say. I hope what happens in the family doesn't happen again. I hate it when the family is not in sync. They're a unit and the division was so not cool. The rot is gone. I hope Mick will stop torturing himself about the mistakes he made with his kids in the past. He has more than made up for it and now it is time for him and them to move on. If y'all are wondering what I'm talking about, purchase the book, bc I had to leave a review without giving anything away. This book started out with a bang and dang, it delivered. The whole gang was present, even Grace. I freaking hate that character. I stopped reading parts of this series bc I hate that character. She ruined my Tommy books. Anywho, sorry for the rant but I love these books. Now that I've vented about my dislike of Grace back to the review. This book was AWESOME! It proved that MM has come back with a vengeance. HAnd her last few Sinatra/Gabrini books have been fire. I highly recommend this book. There were some small grammatical errors but those didn't detract from the book. Check it out. You won't be disappointed. Lastly, I cannot wait for the next Mick book and for Teddy's next book.
Welcome back Mallory Monroe! This is the kind of story I'm used to when it involves the Gabrini's and the Sinatra's. We get a story and a mystery all rolled into one. I think one of the things that stick out the most is the relationship the Dommi has with his dad and his uncles. This young man is a gangster in the making and he is going to be bigger than Mick.I felt sorry for Joey because he never gained his place and could not accept what his place.was with Mick. I loved that we got to see a more human side of Mick and that as a man and a father that he's matured on slot of levels. I think at some point that he is going to have to take Dommi under his tutelage. This was some really good writing and it stayed true to what this family started out being. I also loved that no matter the problems they handled them like a family. Also the Amelia is one bad mamma ,just like her brothers. Also for some reason Grace still does not appeal to.me as a good character, I can not identify with her. I mean why did we have to kill Stacks off. Okay my rant is done, but I do think ,that to refresh Tommy's story ,it center around big business and some things from the past.Overall this was the so so good. I would also.like to see more of not only Dommi but.of Jimmy .
I have been reading these series since the beginning and this book really throw me for a loop .Now I must say I have never been a Joey fan and really don't care for the way Mick inter acts with his kids, but for Joey to take such and uncharacteristic turn against his father and family I just can't put my mind to believe it .I could see if previous books showed a slow build up of this coming but to be blinded sighted with him being this Clever and methodical??? Ummm no !!!!Ok , second thing Dommi he supposed to be the next big mob boss, I understand that he is still going but this has been his whole life and he seemed to be more in control and gangster as a kid than the way he is portrayed in these last couple of books . I am did hard Mallory Monroe can but it's like the books are missing the depth and center that your books are known for.I really hope that dommi becomes the man that as a kid we all couldn't wait to see grow up because he a long way from that at this point .Third ,I know how when Mick gets when it comes to his kids but for things to jump off as they did between him and the Gabrini's so fast without even a conversation first just isn't who this family is to one another.
A Very Good and Suspenseful Interracial Romantic Thriller
Sinatra versus Gabrini: Family at War is a very good and suspenseful interracial romantic thriller that earned a rating of five stars. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this fast paced and exciting book. It was full of shocking surprises and sadness from the lost of a family member by the hands of another family member. These events caused a rip between the Sinatra and the Gabrini families as they had to fight to protect their family 's lives. I would recommend this book to everyone who enjoys reading very good suspenseful romantic thrillers.
Mallory Monroe has done it again! I love reading about the Sinatras and Gabrinis! As always, there is drama with this family and always someone trying to pull them apart to make them weak. Sad for the loss to the Sinatras but I knew that it would happen (to the one who is now gone). I am glad for the ending which was also comical especially whenever Sal and Reno make their comments! The ladies also threw in their comments as well which added to the comedy! I love it! Great book to add to my collection! My husband will have to build me a larger bookcase! LOL! This is a must read!
I cannot stand Mick the Tick. No matter how much think I can, I just can't. I mean I ended up loving Sal's racist ass. He changed. But it is like 2 steps forward 3 steps with Mick. But I loved this story. I loved the the Gabrinis so much and I was on their side no matter what. They should have jumped Mick's ass. But in the end I almost forgave everyone. I was just that emotional. Good Job Mallory Monroe!
Awesome job Mallory. This book had so many twists and turns I couldn't put it down. I had to take a breather after chapter 1. And when Mick and Amelia went down my heart fell. This book was more than words can express. Mallory you have a gift that only God can give, Great job and PLEASE keep them coming!
I was hoping after being shot Joey would have cleaned up his act. I really had a soft spot for him as he was deprived of love as a kid. He however was just rotten to the core This book depicts the dispersion of and unification of family
So sad that Dominique has taken up the gangster life This book had me in edge Great work
I have to say, this is one of the best books by MM in a long time. It reminds me of her earlier writing before she started doing cookie cutter stories. I have so much to say, but I would have to give to many spoilers to do this book justice. This is definitely a book club type of book. You just want to discuss it with someone. Kudos Ms. Monroe!
Well I have to say that just reading the title of this book had me curious, and I couldn’t wait for the release. All kind of thought went through my mind when it was stated that a death in the Sinatra family and that it would put the family against each other. I wasn’t surprise by who died but was surprise as to how it happens.
There is so much going on in the book with the Gabrini’s & the Sinatra’s and it all starts with Joey. I tell you this man has done some unthinkable things from the moment he was introduce to us. In this book we see Joey is tired of living in Mick’s shadow and has usually he does something that you don’t see coming. Dommi is the fall guy in the story and Mick is out for blood and he don’t care if it’s from his own family. When it comes to Mick I have to be in another frame of mind because from the very beginning I had a problem with him and the way that he treats his kids. I am so glad that Gloria finally got a backbone and left and at one-point Teddy was thinking about going out on his own, but after this he probably won’t. Mick finally admitted that he wasn’t a good father to his kids, and he wasn’t. There was a lot of emotions going on in this book with the Gabrini, because they knew what was going to happen when Mick find out about Dommi. Both families have being through so much but in the end family is what matter.
The plot was simple but not forced this time around. Much better than having unknowns coming out of the woodwork at the eleventh hour. The characters stayed true to development. While it was a good story it didn’t move forward any of the romances. It is rime to move Teddy’s story forward. It’s been stagnant to long.
Oh yes a really great read. Storytelling on point as usual, wow I just did not know where this was leading. More than enough twists and turns to keep you glued, which it did read in one sitting. How will I make it through till my next book fix? I recommend you will not be disappointed.
Yesssss, this was a excellent read. I was sad to see Joey didn't make it but I understand. But Mike put a beaten on Dom. But I was happy at the end that Mike showed his soft side. I really didn't want Teddy to leave his father side. I need the next book soon plz. Maybe about one of the "DAUGHTER "
Wow what a mess. I can't say that I was surprised that Joey was the Sinatra killed, but I really hoped that he would one day get his act together. Shocking that the Sinatra/ Gabrini family was almost torn apart. Especially the women and Mick reacting purely on emotion, but it was his son dead even though he also loved Dommi. This book was another mystery and action packed ride
It was just a matter of the before baby brother overstepped in his attempt to do his father wrong again. I was shocked that we to lose someone. But it truly was his time. It was an excellent read! Keep up the great work please. I am now reading Teddy’s newest book and hope him and is lady love will be heading down the isle
This one was one of my absolute favorites! Drama. Suspenseful. Angst. Agony. Mourning. Love. This book hit it all! I was going that Joey and Gloria got it together, but I do feel like this was a more fitting ending to Joey's character. I always like to see the gang together. Dommie seems to have grown up a lil but. I like the direction he's character is going.
Off the chain Shocking and surprised by this Awesome read. I was tearing up over all that was going in another action packed and story of togetherness as only the Sinatra's and the Gabrini's family does it. This is must read.
