So this was slightly better than the first two books in the series (Lex/Charlie) overall. And I'm sure at some point I may throw out a spoiler or two so be warned. But seeing as I gave it a two star review, you're probably wondering why and why tends to lead to a couple of spoilers.

Ok, so. As I was saying - slightly better because this was all his perspective. So the repetition was minimal in comparison to the first two books which were both their perspective and played out the same scenes from each perspective. ugh. So this was better in that respect. But....

For the first half of the book I didn't care about Julian as he turned into a coke addicted obsessed stalker (of Charlie). And I was legit thinking, "why did the author make a book about him. His story so far just drags out and sucks. He's over the top nuts." And it did draaaaag. So, he stalks Charlie as she's no longer his and is with Lex. Goes so far to break into their house and even steal a pair of her panties. Really, crazy man? So then...

He's down one night and driving around. In the area of stalking Charlie but not actually stalking her. He decides to leave, and then he notices tracks going off the road so he goes to help and finds it's Charlie's car and she's inside and pregnant with her and Lex's second child... So Charlie gets her out and delivers the baby and calls Lex and 911 as his phone is dying but they all come. Turning point for him to get help.

So, he's going to a support group to get help with his cocaine addiction. Good for him for taking those steps. And while he's at his support group, he's recognizes Charlie filled the void of Chelsea dying as he watched the accident unfold (Chelsea was his HS crush who he claimed to love and then she drove his car into a tree b/c he let her drive when she didn't know how to drive). And he recognizes he filled the void/hurt with Charlie/drugs. (Women and drugs - solution to everything, no? *insert eye roll here*). What does Julian do then? Becomes intrigued, dare we say obsessed, with another group member he dubbed mystery girl. First she hides her face and body, then it's slowly revealed she cuts herself to dull the pain of loss, and once she reveals her face, Julian knows the face but can't place the name, and then it's revealed it's Adriana! (Lex's sister who lost her high school sweetheart/husband, Elijah, to cancer in the second Lex/Charlie book and Charlies BFF.) He freaks out and runs off.

So you have a drug addict man who obsessed over Charlie now filling the voids with Adriana? Whaaat? Ok.

I will say, their story is one of growth by both of them... him with his drugs and her with her pain, guilt, and insecurities as she felt Elijah chose to die over getting treatment so why would Julian want her? All the while, Julian was working on a book deal and got it and had to go to Australia on a book tour.... and Adriana met him at the airport last minute and decided she wanted to pursue whatever was happening between them regardless of how Lex and Charlie would feel (Lex will no doubt blow a gasket and Charlie will likely be surprised, but accept it because Charlie has is a logical woman and wants her friend happy.) I guess we will find out soon since I downloaded the whole book set on Kindle Unlimited and just can't bring myself to DNF a book. Sigh. If I could - this series would have been it with the first two books. haha.

i was not expecting this slightly unhinged side of julian, it was definitely a shock. i felt so much for julian in the first two books and will always root for him i just want him to be happy. finding out julian’s backstory is heartbreaking, he’s such a genuine guy who just can’t seem to catch a break.

he is haunted by his past and his failed relationship with charlie doesn’t help either. i loved his journey from stalker to finally letting go and moving on and he’s just trying to get better and move forward in his life. his friendship with adriana was so heartwarming and i can’t wait to see how their relationship will develop.

I missed this world and realized I never continued it.

not gonna lie in the beginning, Julian was freaking me out.
but towards the middle he started growing on me.

Adriana deserves the world.

This was fast paced & it deals with some heavy topics.

i hate how this author writes about the lgbt+ community it’s honestly disgusting like w eric the author uses a lot of stereotypes of gay men to write his character and always has to mention that he’s like this bc he’s gay like it just rubs me the wrong way how he’s always the butt of the joke bc of that. don’t get me started on the transphobic asf characters bc in the therapy group the main guy joins he calls the trans woman a slur and his nephew calls her that as well it’s just so disgusting especially when he calls her gay when she’s into men like why are you denying her gender identity she’s a woman into men making her not gay being trans is not the same as being gay it’s so frustrating reading the transphobic and offensive shit the main guy be thinking and saying and it’s a clear representation of the author’s view on trans people but it’s literally so foul and disgusting. also the fetishization of wlw is another thing the author does like it’s always done in a way to turn on the guys it’s so icky. like i do not support this author at all i wasn’t about to finish this book bc of how disrespectful and distasteful it was written and also the book sucked imma be so fr i was expecting the main guy and main girl to meet during the beginning and for the story to revolve around that but no it centers around the main guy and all that but it’s called a stalker romance and i was like oh is it for the main girl no it’s for his ex that’s married and has children and i did not expect that or liked it bc he’s crossing boundaries that makes him even more unlikeable than her husband to me bc this man breaks into her house and kisses her while she’s asleep that’s assault bro wtf. his character is all over the place bc he’s going through it and i couldn’t care less about it i was too focused on how icky he’s written i thought he would get better in the last chunk when he meets the main girl but that’s when the transphobia starts and it’s just eh. like the main couple barely interacted for the last i wanna say 50 pages and it was just them being friends but i don’t feel any chemistry or tension between them bc they’re both grieving and all that but all a sudden at the end the main guy was like i love her stfu you lichally just got to know her. i cant really speak on more of the book bc just the transphobia in the book makes me so frustrated that i hate this book sm and i cant think of anything else besides that but this gets a 1/10 like girl you wrote this in 2020 you should know better.

5 Stars!!!

I was given this book to read in turn for an honest review!!!

At a young age Julian experienced a tragic loss. Charlotte was the only woman who helped Julian to forget. Julian desperately tries holding onto Charlotte, deep down he knows her heart lies with another man.

In reaching out for help Julian forms great friendships with a group of people who are also trying to find their way through this hard and torturous world that we live in. Unexpectedly Julian finds himself forming a friendship with someone he least expected. Trying hard to understand his feelings, will he find himself back where he started or has he turned his life around?

Julian knew what he was doing was wrong; he had to stop, he was only torturing himself. What would it take for Julian to find the help he so desperately needed? Will he get more then he could have ever dreamed possible?

Julian’s story was so much more than I expected. Kat T Masen truly knows how to write a story! When I read Into the Darkness and Into the Light, I had mixed feelings for Julian. In one way I felt for him because he lost out when Lex came back into Charlotte’s life but at the same time I wondered why Julian never truly fought for Charlotte. This story explains everything! By the end of this book I loved him. Along with a great sense of humour, he has a broken soul waiting to be loved and accepted. Eric’s part in Julian had me laughing out loud on more than one occasion; I really hope he gets his own story. I can’t wait for the next book in the Dark Angel Series, Julian’s story left me wanting so much more!

If you loved Into the Darkness and Into the Light then you will want to read Julian’s Story. I highly recommend the Dark Angel series for those who love, romance, humour and suspense you will not be disappointed!

This novella needs to be read after the two dark Angel books, Julian is a character who features in the two books.

I felt sorry for Julian in the first two books, he seemed like a genuinely nice guy who just couldn't get a break. Finding out Julian' s back story was a complete eye opener. He is actually a bit of a bad boy.

The story is dedicated to those who have loved and lost, it perfectly sums up Julian.

He is haunted by his past and his failed relationship with Charlotte. He goes on a dark journey and at times it looks like he won't be able to pull himself out of the darkness, he hasn't gotten over the break up of his relationship with Charlie and he turns into a bit of a stalker.

Julian' s story is a journey, I was glad that we got to see some familiar characters from the previous books. I also couldn't help but love some of the new characters, especially Penny. Julian joins a support group and is finally able to slowly face his demons and start to look forward.

I loved that this story was just from persons point of view and it had a different feel from the other two books. I have grown to love the characters and was happy to see a snippet of another story at the end of this novella. Can't wait.

Poor Julian. It wasn’t meant to be. She belonged to someone else. Just bad timing. He’s lost and is finding life difficult and decides to reach out to a support group. Best decision he ever made. I’m grateful for this group because I felt so sad for Julian, life‘s being a bitch. I love his and Adriana’s friendship they have a great connection. Again the side characters add some much to this story. Penny, Eric and his nephew. I need the next one like yesterday.

I was NOT expecting this side of Julian at all people. I loved him in Chasing Love and Chasing Us and was rooting for his happy ending after his broken heart. I was honestly put off by his psychotic antics for the first part of the book…. But by the end of the book his character redeemed it self.

I adored this book so much, I don’t even know where to start. We met Julian in the first two books in this series and I honestly liked him in those books but his book was a 5star book for me!

Ok so, Julian was engaged to Adrianna’s best friend Charlie….before she got back with her ex Lex. And it screwed him up.
What we find out in this book is that Julian is holding on to massive trauma from his high school years and it is so tragic 🥺 and he is in a really low place.
It gets to the point where he goes to a support group.

It is in this group (where he meets some amazing side characters….here’s looking at you Penny girl 💁🏻‍♀️) he meets Adrianna.
Adrianna is there because she is still heavily grieving the loss of her husband from two years ago. She also has so much trauma and their friendship starts to blossom from this support group.

They constantly have to fight through their trauma and insecurities….but this duet will forever have my heart it is beautiful and the spice of course was amazing!!!

Love love loved this duet ❤️

Julian baker. The man pining after the woman who was so clearly not going to ever love him like she loves Lex.

I felt bad for him for most of this book. He was truly broken. I’m not quite sure I love how this story line is going. I just don’t see Charlie or Lex letting this budding romance between Adriana and Julian happen. I couldn’t connect with it. The book as a whole was okay, I just don’t know about Adriana and Julian.

Also- if Hazel dies, I may too. Little dramatic but that woman was an angel! 😇

This book dragged, unfortunately. The MMC was struggling with a cocaine addiction, losing his job, getting evicted, and finding his way for 3/4 of the book. Finally when it was getting better, the book was over. I know it’s part of a series, but I can’t take the drag… so I won’t be finishing this series.

Stalking? Hard pass.
Julian has always given me an ick vibe but in the reviews and synopsis people talked about how great the story was, so I stuck it out. It got a little better, but I still don’t like him and it doesn’t compare to Charlie and Lex.

Short & sweet & interesting. It’s nice to see Julian’s perspective. Sad, but nice to get his view point. I’ll definitely be reading book 4 to see how this relationship between him & Adrianna develop.

The perfect guys was actually a mess and I don’t like who he became 😬😬 I hated the beginning and the middle of the book but I started to like the ending when he was back into being the normal guy he was from the first book. This book made me not like Charlie even more 🥴 anyway…
Adriana deserves the world.
Everyone needs therapy in this series lol 😅

This was an interesting read. We get to see a side of Julian, his dark creepy side. Well, I'm rooting for these two. I was very interested in how these two came about, I like it, makes so much sense why they would end up together. I like that he redeemed himself from being stalkerish. I love Hazel and Penny!
It's a must read I do recommend reading books 1 & 2 to get a better understanding of what's happening. The not-so-great part of this wonderful journey was the cliffhanger at the end I so could have been just fine without that. I didn't know if I should throw my kindle or scream at it. I was very upset I was cut off no more that was it. I for one couldn't believe I reached the end that fast that's was really amazes me the most. It's eye catching and earth moving words capture your heart and your mind. MUST READ!!! Don't leave me hanging all by myself on the Julian train it's so worth getting inside his head and reading his thoughts.

The story revolves around Presley Malone and Haden Kingston, Presley is Charlies BFF and business partner. Presley has faced numerous challenges and heartbreaks, which have left her wary of love. When Haden, her ex-boyfriend, returns to her life seeking a second chance, Presley is torn between her lingering feelings for him and the pain he once upon left her with when the breakup happened, is she willing to put herself and her heart in this man’s hands in the event that he may do it again❓ They both learn to navigate their complicated relationship, they must confront their past mistakes and decide if their love is strong enough to overcome all of their history.
Presley Malone is a resilient and independent woman; Presley is cautious about letting Haden back into her life. Her journey is one of self-discovery and healing as she grapples with her feelings and the possibility of forgiving Haden.
Haden Kingston is a determined and persistent man; Haden is committed to proving his love for Presley and making amends for his past mistakes. His character growth centres on redemption and the lengths he will go to win back Presley's trust.
