Rate this book
“He was my father’s best friend. Now he is his bitterest enemy.
And he has the most disturbing proposition:
He wants to marry me.”

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, Gina, a young, idealistic woman, is recruited by the elusive Rebellion.
“The Director must die!” they said.
She wants to fight the fascistic, high-tech, Victorian-flavored dictatorship that keeps oppressing her planet.
And this marriage proposal is a golden opportunity to infiltrate the loyalist circles.

So despite her parents’ warning, Gina complies reluctantly.
Alas, the innocent girl falls into a trap! Why does the Director seem to hate her even more than she does? Why is he willing to put himself at risk?
Now her beloved father is in danger, threatened by this powerful officer of the Empire who wants to exact a terrible revenge because of an affair that started before Gina’s birth.

But facing the Director turns out to be much less unpleasant than expected and the situation becomes untenable. One misstep could lead to mutual destruction...

Truly love this. So decadent and wrong and utterly perfect, the way they fight for power, how she claims to be disgusted but can’t stay away from him. Excellent characterisation of both of them, and omg hot hot hot!

Dina is a young author living with the love of her life and raising a family, writing when the need strikes. It often does. She started writing and reading as a six year old and never plans to stop. She enjoys darker romance/erotica and has a soft spot for villains and happy ends paired up together. While she never went through the very situations she depicts, she occasionally draws from her personal experience :)

I like that there isn’t really a good guy here. Well, there’s a bad guy and a worse guy. They all make mistakes and mess ups. The “hero” and “heroine” (mains) are so similar under a varnish. The sex is sensual, vulgar and classy both. The style fits the scene. Erotica, dark and deep. Terrible cornellian choices (basically love and safety for her kin vs safety for the world), twists and everything the summary promised and more There’s literally nothing bad or to change up, except Owen’s tendency to kill people LOL.
I actually found the villain  was a lot more subtle than the goody goody dude - or the heroine. I often felt bad for him which testifies to the author’s skill that this hot story makes you THINK

Oh no, not a love triangle, one might think, but read this!I even root for Gina’s happiness as her enemy’s wife. It disturbed me which I like. Nice change from the villain pursuing an unwilling heroine. Felt so true, we were privvy to the most private moments hot and I found her first time, but also his own feelings, fascinating. I cannot help wonder, would Gina have turned this match away had she been raised in a normal family? The cracks in her parents' marriage become more and more apparent as she builds her own without repeating the mistakesThe scenes, the atmosphere in them... a real immersion into each character which led me to research and fall into a google rabbit hole more than once.

What an interesting take on R1!
I'm a long time fan of SW and eager to read any new fanfic set in that fandom.
This one is much more than the typical fanfic, it's a real novel of several hundreds pages!
What I especially enjoyed in this one, is the intimist atmosphere of the book. It's pretty similar to a classic Greek tragedy, with tormented characters, long and deep depiction of their feelings.
The last chapter of the second part ends the book in a fantastic way, a real closing climax.

This messed with my mind, my heart and my ... so much. This was much more than I bargained for ;) I found I was half in love with the "wrong guy" very soon into the read, and I ended up supporting him 100% even though I didn't want that. Or did I? This is a smutty deep book, or a deep smutty book. This isn't porn without plot in any way, nor is there any fade to black that I remember of. Read it.

When I saw that a new fanfic starring THE DIRECTOR was released I immediatly purchased it and read it in one day only because I was so excited I couldn't let my Kindle down!
Those are the best fanfics I have ever found, you not only have a sophisticated (love) story, you get a beautiful writing style as well. Dina Thala's novels are must-haves for any SW fan around.

As a 'villain writer' she knows just where to push on the right button... I am left wanting more, and that ending... mon dieu...

Une histoire terrifiante et merveilleuse et obsédante (terrifiante dans le sens, dark).

Oh, how I love this. The characters, the plot, the wedding, THE WEDDING NIGHT, the in medias res! You are basically thrown into this mess, and yum. I love how every chapter begins with something to keep you hooked, and ends the same. The tension rises and speeds up to light speed, hold on to your book (and panties). There is barely a moment to breathe.

Gothic scifi, Victorian mores and manors, futuristic weapons and warfare, incredible villain I felt so so sorry for, a "nice guy" I hated, and the heroine caught on the middle, out of her depth but with a mission to end it all. Thoughts no one should have, thoughts no one should share. Indeed, indeed. I felt myself blushy and out of breath, hoping no one was reading over my shoulder, and not only during the sex. You made me relate to a character I never thought I could support.
