I came here for peace. Not five dangerously attractive men who unsettle my instincts and stir something wild inside me.

Lupine Valley was supposed to be a quiet escape—a new job, a fresh start, and maybe even a place to finally breathe. I didn’t expect the stares. The pull. The way the town itself seems to know me better than I know myself.

And I definitely didn’t expect them.

Caden —commanding and impossible to ignore.
Noah —soft-spoken, steady, and devastatingly sweet.
River —playful one moment, protective the next.
Dillon —brilliant, awkward, and surprisingly intense.
Warren —grumpy, growly, and way too good at getting under my skin.

They say we’re fated. That I belong to them. But something inside me is changing—something primal and powerful that I can’t explain. And someone in this town doesn’t want me here long enough to figure it out.

I didn’t come here looking for love.
I didn’t come here to find a pack.

But maybe… fate had other plans.

Luna is the seductive first book in a completed medium-burn, emotionally rich reverse harem shifter romance series. Perfect for fans of fated mates, small-town mystery, slow-burn tension, and heroines discovering their inner strength—one unexpected bond at a time.

This book could have had potential. It needed more time and attention than what it was given i think. It needs an editor first off. It was a struggle to read at times because of that.
Secondly, it needed some honest readers to go over it. This story was a little bit all over the place.
The characters are 25? They act younger. Every single one of them talks and acts like they are in high school. The first few pages were the most fleshed out of the fmc and then it goes out the window. Her personality is all over the place. Becomes a crying emotional toddler at the drop of a hat. Is angry and a strong independent woman and two paragraphs later is letting the guys in and walk all over her and now is crying again. The guys can be total jerks to her and she will be angry for all of 5 seconds and then its all glossed over like it never happened..until they do it again. She is incredibly ignorant and not perceptive. I totally get not knowing about supernaturals because I would be in denial too. But wolves being kept as pets?? Is that a thing? And wolves just magically appearing where people were arguing 2 seconds earlier and the guys no where to be found? The constant slip ups that were in every other chapter. She either didn't notice them or questioned them for all of a half second. Come on. But no..she hardly if ever questions it and when she does the guys tell her she isn't ready for that conversation or they will tell her later. So at that point I might think something was up..but she never does.
The guys. They act like children and there are way too flipping many of them. I can't keep track of who is who and what is what. She collects them by the end like playing cards with little explanation. The personalities and characters don't seem to be fully fleshed out enough to warrant so many. Its a great idea..but not transferred well to paper. And one of the guys she gets with at the end is apparently an ex who we never knew about until then.
The flow of the book is kind of choppy. It was really really a challenge to finish this book because of all the reasons I listed.

This book started really great and then just went downhill. The world building, the plot , everything within the first 10% was great the rest not so much.

The heroine was an emotional mess, crying/whining ALL the time. If one of her mates left her she would start hyperventilating and having panic attacks, it was ridiculous.

I am not interested in continuing this series.

DUDEEE....8 MATES???? NOPE.

I am not going to lie; I forgot the dudes' names pretty quickly. The thing is that when you write reverse harem, you should be able to make each MMC a unique individual. Initially, when there were like 5 of them, the story was more sound, but towards the end, the author was like...yeah take 3 more guys, 20 pages before the book ends. WHY? We don't need so many people...

Regarless... I really enjoyed the start of the book. I found it quite comforting. Not too dark, but not boring. The reactions of the FMC were a little over the top, but I was okay mostly. Except for three things. Food, drinking, and clothes. The clothes that were described gave "outfit board found in Wattpad" vibes, the food that the fmc ate was weird; while she also was ''allegebly'' weighting less than 50 kg while being an adult, and lastly, she was constantly drinking wine??? I dunno... it was a little weird, which is sad because I was really looking forward to it.

Weird book

Author uses words like whilst, and uses the word call instead of go to. The main character doesn't make any sense to me. She's a vet that thinks it's normal to have pet wolves everywhere. The main character things that men are emotional and women are logical. However the main character spends a whole book either crying rusty or angry. The book has a conflict but no plot. The whole book is about meeting eight different mates, then there is an after thought of someone breaking into her cottage but no information on that. It's like the author knew they needed to put something in there but didn't know where to go with it. Anyway, if you wanna read a book. Anyway, if you wanna read a book about Waking up changing clothes eating and Then sleeping repeatedly, With a ton of crying meeting us and angriness thrown in -This is the book for you.

2.5 stars - Could have been better executed

I’m writing this more for the author than for other readers. I did finish the book so that should tell that I did enjoy it to an extent however I want to provide a critique in hopes that if the author agrees, they may be able to improve their craft. I do think it’s an interesting story but could have been executed a bit better. Readers, please do not use my review to avoid this book. It’s more that once I finished it, these things were still on my mind. So it had enough of an impact for me to want the author to improve! Major spoilers ahead!!!

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

1. There should have been a lot more backstory for Eli or at least more hinting and build up before he was introduced literally at the end of the book. I remembered him from the one conversation where the MC talks about having been hurt but that really was not enough for him to swoop in at the end, get claimed, get laid and take MCs virginity. I get that they knew each other for 3 years at uni but the reader didn’t. The reader literally got a little bit of info from the MC perspective when he shows up at the house but not enough to build a connection with him to justify her literally sleeping with him within the hour when you spend the entire book learning more about original five. Not to mention the original conversation where she talks about him it honestly made him sound like an ex. Not a friend that she was in love with. Honestly would have made it so much more interesting if he had been an ex and if instead of jumping straight into I loves you if they instead really did fight the bond and then relented in a future installment.

2. Rhett and Wyatt should have been introduced a lot earlier. Obviously there is foreshadowing of the relationship when MC has her initial power play and talks to Alpha Simmons but again talk about swooping in at the end and claiming each other, again, before all of the original five. Like seriously if I was Warren or Caden I’d be pissed.

3. We should really ease up on the crying and the wine. I get it. It’s an emotional rollercoaster but her inner wolf should have gotten pissed about how weak she’s making herself appear and how clingy she is. She starts off as a strong character on a new arc, first time away from her bff and on her own. Shows backbone to Warren immediately and then has no backbone for the rest of the book outside of when she throws a tantrum and starts crying. With how powerful her wolf supposedly is, I’d have expected more independence. Instead we see the same scene play out over and over again. A mate or parent leaves the room and she starts crying.

3.5. We should really cut back on the alcohol. There was enough attention given in one or two scenes about Warren drinking from a flask that I thought we were going to have some sort of subplot about what he is drinking (is it blood? Whiskey? Does he have a problem?). Then you have the MC that treats literally every misgiving or bad experience with tears and wine. I kept waiting for her growth where she’d step away from these crutches and put her big girl panties on but she never quite gets there. It’s prominent enough where she herself has to clarify internally that she’s not an alcoholic but her and her BFF cheer about literally having two glasses of wine, one for each hand to deal with a bad day.

4. The pacing isn’t quite right. We spend so much of the book with the original five that when the last three are added it felt entirely rushed. There was no indication at least that I saw that she didn’t feel like she had all of her mates. Future mates would have been better introduced in another installment so you could get to know them like the original five.

5. MC is supposed to have an ability to be able tell when someone is ill. She uses the ability all of one time. Would have loved to see more of this side of her.

6. MC is not dumb but she took an awful long time to figure out the shifter thing. It’s like she was in denial but without showing the reader she was in denial. Instead of seeing internal dialogue where you’d expect her to argue with herself about the strangeness, you get “I’m not going to think about this right now” and then she just moves on. Then when she finally admits it she rolls with it like it’s no big deal (minus the crying she doesn’t get her way).

Read other books by this author in the future: yes
MC: Lotti, Noah, Caden, Dillion , River, Warren, Rhett, Wyatt, Eli

Lotti has finished college and starts her first job as a job in a town six hours away from her best friend in a small town. Arriving there she goes to the vet to introduce herself and get her keys for her housing. At the vet she gets to know a rude persons, and has to help with injured animals.
After that she meets another guy, Noah who helps her out with the key and moving in. He brings his friends and Lotti quickly likes them and becomes friends with them. But nothing is like it seems in this town. And Lotti has to find the truth about this town and also about herself and her best friend.

I liked the book, Lotti is a little chaotic, loves her wine and when things get worse she needs two wine glasses. I liked the guys at first but then they started to be protective but not supportive.

Breath of fresh air!!!

I seriously did not want this book to end!! I love Lottie and her story. This is one of those books where you fall head first into the story and don't want to leave. Lottie finished school and is starting her first job as a vet in a small town. Unbeknownst to her, it is a supernatural town. They had hoped to slowly integrate her into the community, learn about the supernatural world and then have her take over the vet clinic. However, her first day there she meets her mates. Of course, she doesn't know this so she just thinks they are being super friendly with some small town and weirdness and vocab.

Things get more intense as her wolf begins to surface, and Lottie finds out some shocking news. She eventually cannot deny what she has been piecing together and confronts the truth. A series of events occur and things go from everyday normal to overwhelming. In 24 hours her whole world is shifted. I feel for her and the truths that she has to accept. She struggles in the beginning, but eventually can't deny it. I feel like the story is starting to develop more when it ends sadly and me wanting more.

The guys are uniquely different and diverse. Though the last 3 we don't get to know as much about yet. I definitely am a fan of River. The mountain quiet ones always get me 🥰 Noah seems pretty sweet, Caden is possessive, Warren is grouchy, Dillion is attentive, but kind of fades to the back. I think she is going to have to make sure he doesn't feel lesser because I can see it happening naturally because of his rank. Rhett and Wyatt still learning, but they seem good. Warren may be another rough around the edges type, but sweet in the middle. Eli, not sure yet... He hurt her in the past but it's also understandable from his POV, but I still feel like there are repairs that need to be done there.

The guys frustrated me at the end. I was so there with Lottie that they were not being good mates and not helping her. They were so possessive and protective in the beginning, but then they just drop the ball. They leave her feeling insecure, unwanted, unprotected, and ultimately unprepared for what to expect as everything is new to her. She is learning about the pack life, her wolf, mate bonds, and being a wolf. Everything is new and overwhelming, and yet they just keep making stupid mistakes. They should be making her feel secure, loved and cherished. I'm not sure what happened the last night, but it would be interesting to know their thoughts because from her POV they abandoned her emotionally first by ignoring her, talking to another unmated female, and then physically by not checking on her or comforting her. Again.. they should know better. They keep things from her and it just hurts her more. (like that "prank" I'm pretty sure is an ex or jealous girl, but they don't say anything!!) They were very possessive in the beginning and have lived the life, but yet they ignore her feelings and inexperience with being a shifter. They need to step up and make amends. Do better guys. I felt the emotions and was gutted with her.

But what I love about this book, is that Lottie is strong. She feels inadequate at times, but she is compassionate, she is kind, and she stands up for what is right. We get to experience this new world and her experiences through her eyes and with her. She is easy to like and want to root for. I think a lot is coming, that we are preparing for something big to come. So I hope the people on her life step up more and show her how loved she is because that will make her stronger. I kind of wish it was multiple POVS so I had more sense of the guys. Mild to medium Steam toward the end. It is set in England, so it is does have different phrases and spelling. A few small errors and stilted sentences, but does not and away from the story. This is a great story and I am so invested! I cannot wait for me. ♥️♥️♥️♥️

Awesome beginning Ms Frame! There is nothing better that a FMC that is strong and kicks arse! I love Lottie and her guys, their interactions were real and I loved, loved that she won't back down and stands her ground. The town's interaction with her was hilarious and I kept waiting for someone to clue her in, lol. I can't wait for more!

Not adding up.

Reverse harem, male shifters in a town of shifters... where everything is so obvious it freaking becomes painful to read. Not sure if the main character is an airhead.

Not everyone has pet wolves. How is that even normal? You want to make it seem like it is, but it’s not and it makes the whole thing feel awkward.

Confusing

Let me start out by saying that I love wolf/ fated mate reverse harems, so I give this 1 star with a hard heart.

some mild spoilers below
▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎
To start this book was so confusing and inconsistent. The main character of this book is Luna, a vet with a hidden ability to sense any problem having to do with animals. She unknowingly moves to a small town, in the middle of nowhere that is 100% populated by wolf. There she meets a group of men that are instantly attracted to her. I have no problems with the premise of the book but I did have a problem with the characters. To start, Luna is an idiot. Her men shift in front of her and she still doeant questions anything or puts it off for later. Her men, aren't even good at hiding the fact that they are wolves and yet she's still surprised by the reveal. The novel also has a bunch of inconsistencies, like when Noah meets her for the first time he knows she's the vet, but in the next chapter he asks what her job is.
I wished I could give this book more stars but there were too many problems for me

SO FREAKING FANTASTIC!! This book was recommended to me by some friends, and I can tell you with absolute certainly that I LOVED it!!

This book was extremely well written and I loved how connected I was to Lottie. Hearing and seeing her emotions, struggles and triumphs unfold. It was fun being in Lottie’s head. Learning this world with her. Especially as she connected the pieces and became attached to each of her mates and seeing the special connection she has with each.

This book was a wild ride from beginning to end, but I loved every second. Learning Lottie’s Wolf nature, the multiple packs, the multiple mates, her family and friends. It all came together to create a fantastic story to get lost in and thoroughly enjoy!

I genuinely cannot wait for more! <3

DNF at 10%.

I was already super confused by how the author is writing this. They're "mated" to her but she doesn't know? Makes no sense.

But, when the author threw in this absolutely ridiculous crap of saying "awww, he has a crush on her" when hearing the story of a 4-year old girl being physically pushed around and bullied by a little boy!?

Nope! I'm out of here. I do not believe this narrative of "if he hits you, that means he likes you" is healthy for anyone. And definitely not when talking about small girls. They should be taught that behavior is not okay and the adults in their lives will protect them.

While I....

To start off on a positive note, I absolutely loved this storyline.. It's always a winner, winner chicken dinner when you find a powerful, no nonsense heroine that takes charge of her own life and tells her story the way she wants it to be told!

However with that being said I just can't seem to get over the lack of quality of the proof reading and the editing of this book. I mean what happened to beta (readers) testing before you (supposedly) released finished work?

I know no one is perfect but come on! Chapter one and two needs some serious work.. Was it only me that caught these many errors? Did Amazon (Kindle) provide me with a bad copy? I'm always supporting the independent authors so I only say this will love okay? And I do understand some of these authors are trying to get their work out there and to be heard but you gotta get better at proof reading and editing your work guys!

While that maybe my main complaint about this book, it wasn't the only one. But I can't wait to continue reading this series and to jump into book 2, which I hope is better written this one. One can only hope...fingers crossed!

Overall Rating:
4* ~ A Good Read

Unrealistic FMC

It's certainly the worst FMC that I've had to read about in more than 15 years of reading fantasy books. Charlotte (aka Lottie) is so naive that It questions her intelligence and her sanity. She's so gullible! Despite everybody keeps dropping hints about wolf shifters, she keeps repeating to herself "I don't want to ask more question". Because yeah, real people just let very weird things happen and act that it was totally normal...
And what about her behavior? She met five guys and it's ok to almost live with them the day after. Her reactions are totally unrealistic. She's a virgin but has sex one hour after catching up with her university crush...??!? And it's never written that she mentioned it to her partner!!!
The writing style is confusing as well. I've the feeling that there has been too much skimming. It seems that some sentences or paragraphs are missing. At various times It's difficult to follow Lottie reasoning, some part are missing to really understand her.
Until the last chapter, the story speaks only about Lottie and their mates but it seems that things will be more interesting in the second volume...

OK

There were some aspects of this book that I really enjoyed. I love big harems, the MC being somewhat clueless but discovering she is powerful and a little mystery on the side. What I didn't like as much is that even though it was written in a way to be normal and plausible due to circumstances, Lottie's constant crying and mood swings quickly became annoying. She was exhausting me so I felt badly for her mates, parents and her friend, Katie. I also didn't feel enough distinction between the guys. With a lot of characters making them distinct and individual is key. I did like this one enough to try the second book.

DNF. I couldn’t make it past the first 10 chapters and even then I was skimming, the story line itself had potential the execution was severely lacking honestly the writing is terrible it reads like a bad wattpad story that’s been translated from another language. There’s no cohesiveness in the writing it jumps all over the place and to start off I’m sorry but a young 24 year old woman moves into a new town and immediately lets all these huge guys into her house?? I don’t think so.

TL;DR: Great premise but poorly executed. Could have been a lot better with some proper editing.

So I'm writing this book after slogging through book 2 as well before giving up on the series entirely. This is actually more of a rant for my own sake than a real review. I have such mixed feelings about this book/series. I really wanted to like it and I DID like the overall story, there was just SO MUCH about it that really aggravated me and I kept having to decide whether to continue with it. First off, the editing and proofreading (or lack thereof). This book REALLY NEEDED some SERIOUS editing, to make the story more cohesive, AND proofreading to fix all the grammar and spelling mistakes. That was enough to annoy me, but not quite enough to dnf. It was the inconsistencies with the characters that really drove me crazy. I liked Lottie in general, but she was written really inconsistently. For example:
- she wasn't stupid, but she just totally ignored ALL the weird things like people having "pet wolves" roaming around town etc.
- she was a virgin, but kept thinking/talking about sex like someone with experience (literally has never had sex before but thought about "what fun eight d*cks will be" (literal quote. like WTF?)
- is portrayed as a feminist and keeps saying how she expects to be treated with respect and won't put up with misogynistic behaviour etc, but then just... does. But really it's the guys' behaviour that aggravated me so much. They're supposed to be such amazing, supportive mates but then try to dominate and control her and also just leave her to flounder with her new reality. A lot of what they said and did made me really angry and I nearly dnf'd the book over it, but wanted to see if things would improve. Which they did, but only slightly. It also drove me crazy how her mates and best friend brushed off how hurt she was by her ex-turned-mate that shows up at the end of the book, and also that she's hurt and angry at him but then also just brushes it off and loses her virginity to him within an hour of seeing him again. Also a WTF moment. There were more issues with the book but those were the main ones. A lot of issues in the next book too so I eventually gave up.

I’ve got this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I’d love to rate this book 3.5 ⭐️ and 4 ⭐️. Why?

Honesty, since that’s what I want from any review.

I’d break the book into two parts. First third of the book was irritating for me to the point I wanted to stop reading. After the first third I changed my mind and I’m really happy I finished, because I started to loving the book slowly.

Let me explain.

At the beginning, when the main character comes into the view, you don’t know what to expect. So you sit tight and read. After the first few “pages” in I had to stop reading and sort my thoughts. Let’s be honest, I hated the way the character acted and did things. She claimed she doesn’t need a man, she can handle things on her own, she hates if someone tells her what to do. But yet there’s a point in the book when “I” expected her to show these signs, she didn’t...she just let it slide. I was super irritated and frustrated with her and honestly hated the way she is.

Then I thought that maybe this is the author’s first ever book and so I tried to think more lightly about it all. I’m sorry for my review but wait, it gets better. And I really mean better!

After a certain “big” part in the book, the character kind of adjusted and “changed”. Which I loved! And for me this meant I went into the book with new open mind and view. I started liking the character more and more, started to love the book more and more but guess what?! It ended! The author just left me hanging there wanting more! Like whaaaaaaat???

Overall?

My frustration aside...I really liked the book. The storyline was well thought out and the side characters were amazing! Especially one person in her life made me super happy and laughing whenever he appeared! Haha...

This is why I rated the book 3 and not 4. At the beginning I wanted to rate it 2, but the author saved it and I think that the sequel will be amazing!

Honestly I'm really divided about my review for this one. The story has potential, and I enjoyed the world building. I liked that it's a Reverse Haram (RH) novel that isn't just about sex, there is actual plot here. The main character is also a strong character in truth, doesn't take anyone's rubbish and is secure enough in herself to be expressive.

There are some pretty big issues though, with flow and structure as well as with scene framing. I couldn't always tell who was in the scene, or when the scene changed which was really frustrating as a reader.

But there is potential. I think I may still want to read the next one and see where this goes. I'm hopeful things improve.

This book was all over the place. First of all how is she not pricing all the wolf references going? She is there less than a week and gets 8 mates? Is totally cool with finding out she is a wolf? All her men and family keep forgetting to tell, her stuff and she is like mad then okay with it? This book had someone breaking into her house and that was hardly talked about. This book just wasn't for me. The writing was fine just not my thing.

I really enjoyed this book. I felt a little annoyed in the beginning with Charlotte but it got better after she discovered who she was and I enjoyed her character a lot more. I love the bond she has with her dad. I also had so many laugh out loud moments. I am looking forward to continuing this series.

honestly, the most unrealistic thing about this was not the werewolves or vampires, it was the fact that homegirl thought “mate” was just quirky southern slang and ran with it 😭

All over the place

The MC is just...the worst. She claims to be self sufficient and smart, but she thinks half the stuff that happens in the book is okay to just overlook??? Sure, there's wolves everywhere and in people's houses and right where your friend just was but who cares, that's normal! The writing is subpar and I wish you had a better editor to help you dig through the randomness there is. She's a trained vet but is just like cool wolves let me pet them. She is also so emotional, even beyond her wolf-emotions. It's annoying and does not endear the reader to her. I don't mind the English phrases (whilst, call to, ring, etc.) since this takes place in England, but the characters as a whole have really elementary dialogue. I love to read ya and romance but this I will pass on finishing. 😐

I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in the Luna series by Letty Frame. A fresh take on shifters and a great read. I highly recommend you check out this story.
