Another solid anthology of Battletech stories. These ones seem to occur the the 3100s for the most part. I'm not super familiar with this time period, but the stories were enjoyable. Of special note was "The Secret Fox" by Bryan Young, and "Waylon's War" by Blaine Lee Pardoe.
I do find it weird that we get snippets of information for the RPG (in this case, information on pistols) snugged in around the rest of the content....but....I guess it IS Battletech and fits with the theme of the anthology.
Shrapnel is only three issues old, but it is consistently delivering solid content downrange. Whether you want new stories, new mini missions, minor rules expansions, or just in-universe fluff, they have you covered. Highly recommended!
This is a solid volume. A lot of the stuff in this new magazine collection is better than some of the stuff they are putting into the other short story anthologies. This volume had several good bits from succession war era to dark age era. Great Battletech fiction and action.
