When 19-year-old Julia Jarrett accuses her father Donald of abuse, their relatives and friends are outraged. The problem is, Julia died some months ago from a heroin overdose.
Her mother Janet is convinced that the accusing voice, heard during a spiritualist meeting, is that of her daughter. When Donald and Janet are both found dead, DCI Grace Swan is called in to investigate. But she has problems of her own; still grieving the sudden death of her partner and at odds with her superiors.
Dead Girl Found is a gripping murder mystery, told from alternating viewpoints. But which side holds the truth?
This book contains graphic sex and violence, and is not suitable for readers under the age of 18.
The storyline is ok, but there are so many grammatical errors & spelling errors that I sometimes had to re-read the paragraphs. These had nothing to do with the book taking place in England bc I have read many others that did not have this. It looked unedited.
3.5 ⭐️ this was really interesting and did have me hooked but then it got kind of disturbing? so it made me feel a bit uncomfy? but not enough that i wouldn’t read the others in the series. however there were a lot of typos and errors in this book lol idk what that’s about
Julia Jarrett returns from the grave to accuse her father of sexual abuse. Could this be a real message from the other side?
While the story was compelling, the pages contained a shocking number of errors. One chapter (94) was repeated, and two people were misidentified. I wish there had been an effort to polish the work before publication. The sexual violence was emotionally difficult to read - I am glad there was a clear disclaimer.
Phenomenal, Brilliant, and Engrossingly Excellent!

A mystery within a mystery. A perfect flow that drew me in, pulled me along and had me guessing till the very end, A brilliant concept flawlessly done! Dead Girl Found is not only engrossing, it is frighteningly horrific in an “good gawd this could really happen” sort of way. The characters, the dialogue, the plot, the concept, the narration, everything absolutely blew me away! The entire package was was so well done I have absolutely no criticism! I loved it, I want more, I want to listen to the entire thing again! It was that good. Five stars across the board!
You get two stories for the price of one with this book. The first part pulls you into unraveling the death of two characters and you could be fooled into thinking this is yet another story charting the journey of a gritty female detective uncovering the truth against all obstacles. But don’t be fooled, because part 2 reveals so much more of another key character, who is as equally engaging as the storyline is disturbing. Definitely a twist of perspective you don’t expect!
I actually liked the plot of it all but so much of it was very very unnecessary. And the last few chapters we already had read albeit with different names. Very odd. The worst I have read for grammatical errors, do they not employ proof readers? Shame because the the story could have been so good.
Not a bad story - doesn’t appear to have been proof read
I like the concept of the book having two versions of one incident. What I didn’t like was the lack of proofreading so many words misspelt, some words missing and not grammatically correct in some places. The second part of the book I felt was an abrupt ending
I only finished this because I struggle to DNF books, had it not been for that I'd have given up after Chapter 1.
Lack-luster storyline with bizarre additional details in some places and no detail in others. Filled with punctuation, spelling and grammatical errors. Lack of continuity and at one point an entire paragraph was a page too early.
Patience required especially for the second half of this tale. A good read very detailed from both the investigation side and that of the perpetrator . Only 1 thing, why would such a skilled DCI not follow up on her nagging concerns?? That said great read 👍
I really enjoyed this book. I would have read it from start to finish if I could. The characters were very believable. I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for all the type's and that chapters 94/95 are exactly the same. But I will definitely read more books by this author.
A tense thriller with an unusual plot. Grace Swan is a complex character and promises to have more aspects of her life revealed in future books. Plenty of red herrings and twists to satisfy any mystery lover.
Enjoyment of this book was spoiled by poor sentence construction, terrible grammar & punctuation. Please, please proofread future work to ensure full reader satisfaction.
I finished the book. Not really as good as I thought it would be. The part that came after the trial was like reading a second book. I wasn't impressed. Not sure I will be reading more by this author.
I had a hard time getting into this story, but once I did it flew by. It’s a great story, although the many typos made some parts difficult to follow. Better editing would have made for a more enjoyable read.
This would’ve been a lot better if the final few unnecessary chapters weren’t included, and if the spelling and random typos were corrected. For me, there were so many errors it ruined the story a bit.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I was fun to piece the information together and see multiple sides to the same story. I didn’t much care for all the police role abbreviations because I forgot them as soon as I read them. But other than that, great read!
Atrocious grammatical and spelling errors made this a painful read. Poor Fred was called Fed and Feed on a number of occasions!
The storyline was interesting, so I persevered, but the book 'ended' halfway through then began again from a different character's viewpoint. The second half read like an early attempt by someone who'd recently joined a writing group
Very disappointing. Get a proof-reader and an editor
