Oh how I wish there were swashbuckling, pirate pleasure books (if you know what I mean). It was a fun read with smexy times at on the high-seas where eastern and western cultures meet and collide with a mix of heat and stream.

With characters that are both hard and riveting, this story has reader following along as we chase them across the world in gaslamp romance. I can't wait to see where the author takes is next and what happens from here for these characters

The Object💃💋 Of His Strange Desire💕

ADULT Victorian Romance and Human Trafficking Tale. He🐺🍆⛲🔪⛵ Just Can't Help Himself!

This is a strange tale of Beth💃💋, a young English woman bought by a "collector", a Japanese pirate mogul, when she is completely covered in mostly blue, full color Japanese tattoo art. She escapes her collector to go to see her dying mother in England and is caught by a bounty hunter. She is to be taken back to Japan by Jax🐺🍆⛲🔪⛵, a pirate captain.

Unfortunately, Jax🐺🍆⛲🔪⛵ falls in lust, then in love💘 with her and cannot let her go. She escapes from him in Turkey, and flees back towards England to see her dying mother, one last time. Jax🐺🍆⛲🔪⛵ gives chase, determined to still get his fee, her weight in gold.

ARC Provided by Booksprout 🌱
I also got this ebook with KU.

The author writes that these young women💃, brought into the life of being a living work of art, do so freely of their own will. The women are paid handsomely, but it's not clear if they ever get to use the 💰money or ever get to leave their owner. An eccentric English brother and sister team of the nobility are the facilitators of young English women for This trade.

The numerous ADULT scenes are graphic and explicit. The book borders on erotica, but does have a coherent story.

In my opinion, the women were no more than expensive, exotic, possessions, put on display by their male owners as objects and symbols of their vast wealth.
This book needs a thorough editing. There were many places where words were left out or wrong words were used, and I read it from the published version!
This book ends in a cliffhanger.

His Bounty, Escaping The Pirate.
Book 1 of the Pirates of Pleasure series by Elsa Holland

This novel pushes closer to the novella category. His Bounty certainly needs another draft to give it a further polish.

Errors abound such as lacking some well placed punctuation in parts, missing letters, typos, wrong words, and one paragraph when there should be two (Location 1475) etc, however you can make out what should be there.

Some research needs to be undertaken, especially if you state something that has happened, or happening or can happen. At 41% Blue stops overnight at an inn on the Greek boarder.

‘The next night, they were close to Austria.’

I’m wondering if that’s possible? In one day? I studied Ancient Greek History in High School, and for the life of me, I couldn’t remember any skirmishes between the Greeks and Austrian/Huns. So to settle the disputes running amuck in my mind, I turned to my friend Google. Within the time period it took for me to enter what I need information on, like, ... How long would it take me to leave Greece’s northern border and arrive at Austrian’s southern boarder. ... Google informed me that, in a car on a good road, it will take me fifteen hours. What Google did not tell me was how long it would take travelling by horse and carriage, which, in 1900, was Blue’s mode of transportation. I’m presuming it would be a lot more that fifteen hours. Even more than twenty four hours, making sure we didn’t feed, water or spell the horses, and Blue didn’t have to answer to the call of nature.

Some of the metaphors got me thinking. His Bounty starts off with a beauty.

Water lapped the side of the Black Princess like a thirsty, little beast.

Mull it around your head some.

We’re introduced to Jax, Captain Jackson Parker of the Black Princess. He’s an entrepreneur, a merchant, and a businessman,. That’s while he’s docked in England. Away from England he’s a pirate, and wears a favourite pirating bandanna. He’s on a mission for a friend, Moriata, who can’t set foot on English soil. His mission is to take custody of his friends missing and highly valued possession. Unknown to him, it’s a woman. A living canvas. A breathing work of art. Let’s call her Blue.

The story begins with Jax taking custody of Blue, but she decides to have a swim, so he fishes her out of the Themes River, partially undressing her on deck, then going to his cabin to finalise her undressing, but leaving her trousers on, as well as describing what she looks like. This takes 11% of the novel, and the bath hasn’t arrived yet.

Some contradiction to the flow of the story, such as Moriata is supposedly a mate of the Jax, so much so that he has willingly agreed to bring a female against her wishes back to him in Japan. However, Moriata neglected to inform the captain that his human cargo was tattooed woman from head to toes, or her name. However, Blue is aware that Captan Jax is a mate of Moriata.

A lack of continuity, even over something simple as the tattoo ink colour. The tattoo colour is a pale turquoise, as its described often enough however. We’re even told at location 193 that the ink used was ...

Not the muddy indigo faded with the tanning of skin every man here sported. No, the bounty’s markings were pale and complemented her alabaster skin

But at location 1252

...she lowered her beautiful indigo c**t

His bounty is a very sedate novel. Your about 70% into the novella before it even gets remotely exciting. Tissues are needed at 89% of the novella.

So, I received a copy of His Bounty for an honest review. I wanted to try and give a constructive argument, but it may be a nit picky. My reasoning is if a reader is paying money to read a novel, then the above should have been addressed prior to it being sold.

I took to Jax ok, but was slow to get warm fuzzies regarding Blue. I really did need to grab my tissues nearing the end. It kind of ended on a cliffhanger, but if you don’t want to follow up with the second book in the series, it can be read as a stand alone. Me? I will be looking forward to His Captive, Book 2 in the Pirates of Pleasure Series.

Wow!! His Boumty is more than a steamy historical romances, it's sizzling hot with all the naughty tantalizing passion on the high seas that will hold you spellbound as it comes to life with all the intrigue and action-packed adventure on a pirate ship full of trial and tribulations that will keep you sitting on the edge of your seat until the very end. Else Holland's heart stopping romance brims with tension-building twists, characters that come off the pages and will pull you into their tale, a strong plot that is well written, great and witty dialogue with setting descriptions and action sequences that are wonderfully vivid which brings this read together perfectly. Raging feelings and tempers swirl like a tempestuous storm at sea between Captain Jax, one hot pirate, and Blue, a temptress that is hard to hold on to. Captain Jax didn't know what he was getting him and his crew into by agreeing to a pick-up and delivery for Moriata, a business associate. Blue is not going back to Moriata until she visits Lake District and she will do anything to get there. As sparks fly between Blue and Jax on their journey the suspense builds and tensions escalate with twist and turns abound that makes this one outstanding story!

New historical romance with flare of pirates, full body tattoed girl, long journey through exotic lands, steamy scenes, passion and betrayel.

Tumbs up for all the details in the exotic places they went! Specially when the author mention Batavia. Its hurt and sad when it called the capital for the Dutch when they were in fact invaded the country. But i wont talk about truth or fact because the author have her merrit in her research.

I love Blue spirit. Shes not a sassy brat. Not a shy virgin. Shes brave, smart, determined and classy.
Love the enemy n lover vibe that string to super steamy sexy scenes.
Love Jax and his gruffness. He iant actually scary looking pirates captain though lol. More hot than his good i wanna climb him all day.

Their chemistry is fast. The attraction is hot from the moment Jax first claimed her to all her run away and him chasing, to all her cursing him and to him subdue her with his persuation.

Light plot. Fun to read. Definitly hot. Amazing details on all the adventure journey

This a great read. The characters are engaging, and the story has just the right level of humour and adventure. The heroine was feisty without being bratty and Captain Jax is roguish without being cartoonish. I like that this author has her worlds brush by each other enough to reward loyal readers, but not enough for it to feel forced. This author has a real talent for painting images and worlds. I felt I could see the heroine so clearly and in a way that almost put the other characters in shadow. An intriguing style of writing.

A lovely adventure to escape into and I am eagerly looking forward to the next book in this series.

This is a high seas adventure, it is steamy, action packed, and a pirate that is different then the usual stereotypical pirate. Oh he was a pirate and took what he wanted and he wanted Blue but also wanted to help her and listened to her. She wants to see her mother before she dies. This book had everything. There are rising tension between Jax and Blue. This is just a great pirate story. Blue was tough and Jax was just wonderful and it was well written and the story kept me engaged and entertained through out the whole book. Great story.

*** Free book for an honest review ***

I am not a regular reader of historical romances, but this book was just awesome. The erotic scenes were not only hot but extremely tasteful. But it was more then that that kept me engaged to the end. The romance you could literally feel the characters and the interactions. I will be reading the second book in this series and I would advise anyone who loves a good erotic historical romance to hurry out and but tis and pre-order the next one coming up.

I’m just going to jump straight in and say it ... the editing is horrendous. Awful. Atrocious. Abominable. In fact in made reading very difficult and I kept losing my flow and I had to keep putting it down.

But, I did finish, so 2 stars for that. If I truly didn’t like the story I would not have finished it, good editing or not.

And just a couple of examples p111 he crowed her, p136 nothings so fine as p147 the drank raki a milky drink known as Lion’s milk....

It was endless

If you want smut with no real plot, this is your book! It has another book in the series, which I am going to read. I actually liked this book. It just fell short of a good plot. I needed to know more about where Blue was originally from in the beginning of the book.
