I'd dance on a razor's edge for my mates, but the Fae kings are no longer mine.
They belong to the usurper queen, bound by her black magic. Rydstrom and Baron have forgotten what I once meant to them. The Winter King, however, remembers me, but he's embraced the dark side.
The world isn't big enough for all of us—it's either me or the kings.
So, I'll lure them to Hell's inferno to finish what they started in the Wild Hunt—to hunt down their mate to the bitter end.

I zipped right through this series. I've read some of the one star reviews; people indicating that they couldn't even get through the first book without casting it aside. Not me. I liked that the MC didn't abandon her human family when she discovered she was an immortal. Some of the sex scenes seemed gratuitous, but what are you going to do? The constant horniness got old but at least there was quite a bit of action, deception, a nasty villain and HEA. Loved Fawn and the other siblings. They weren't relegated to never being heard from once introduced. I think the kings were pretty interchangeable, other than for the domains they ruled over. Not a whole lot of difference between them.
I'm leaving the same review for all four books since I've read several others since I got around to writing this so I don't remember what happened when.
So, the story was decent and that’s why I go with 3 stars. However, this could benefit from better writing and a thesaurus. A couple times in the series, things took a hard left turn and the reader is left to catch up. It can get confusing squooshing two mythos in the same series as well. Just my opinion. It feels like the author took all her favorite supernatural stuff and tried to shove it into one series. :D
Anticlimactic ending. I actually don't really understand how it ended. It just did. There was more description of fighting than when she finally fights her sister. Just an evasion, a thrust and done.
The strongest of the series. Ileana has truly accepted all parts of her heritage and embraced her birth right. She is also the strongest she’s ever been since turning. Lucifer being her father is both fascinating and strange, I’m here for it. His claiming her as the true heir to hell and helping her kill her sister was unexpected. Which her sister let’s be real was like the evil step sisters if they managed to siphon black magic from demons. Just a basic jealous idiot with magic however fowl. You can’t glamour away true ugliness. I must say I CALLED THE WINTER KING NEVER ACTUALLY BETRAYING HER! Anyway, Ileana’s inner monologue showing how scared shitless she is to rule, even with the fierce determination she shows the world, is a nice reminder that you can always do what you put your mind to. All in all a lovely way to end the series, even if there’s a little open ended possibility for more in the future??

What a story! As a single story this book was great, full of passion, magic, adventure and battles. As book 4 in a series I found it to be a little redundant. The same story, the same fight and the same arguments. The narration was outstanding. This is book 4 with an HEA. This series should be read in order.
This book series was such a delightful reading. I loved every bit of it. I have never laughed so much. Ileana was such a great heroine, I loved reading her POV. I won’t lie, there were a few times I wanted to just smack her and tell her to look further, things are not always what they seem. But then again, there needed to be a twist and a little sacrifice. I just hated how blind she suddenly became, just because of her insecurities. Anw, her siblings made it up to me, they were the most funniest kids ever. I loved that they were included in each book (some books I read in past the heroine somehow moved forward from her human life, like it wasn’t interesting so much anymore) and then how she haven’t forgot even her human boyfriend, especially when they showed up in book 3 in “the wild hunt” And don’t let me even starting on constant bickering between Kings. I mean that was the biggest fun to read. Sometimes I had a feeling like I’m looking at kids in kindergarten bickering over a toy, then snap and they were adults again. I just loved it. sometimes I wished I could see their POV, too. Then Lucifer came in. I didn’t like her prejudices towards him. I get it, he is the big bad king of hell, but that doesn’t mean she has to instantly take him as a big bad, just because the human culture tells us. I yearned for more scenes with him. what was his goal with her. What did he wanted from her. He said she would eventually figure it out, but I doubted that he would want to use her as a weapon or something like that as she thought. I sensed there there could be a potential for another book mb, especially how they last conversation ended. Then we had this Bone witch, i was really shocked by her being Ileana’ sister, and her story how she was eaten by her twin sister while being in Meave’ belly and then her vision about Ileana’ future daughter was just another twist, i got the vibe (second one) that there may be another book in future. Or mb the open ending it’s just for us readers to let out imaginations work a bit. I highly recommend this book to everyone, because it was such a good bundle of fun, love, passion, jealousies, and even healthy reality ( I mean the plague - like a covid stuff) a little bloody war and lot friendship and family. I got everything from this series what I wanted. BTW I loved how many “similarities” there were with Acotar series. ( I love SJM books 😊)
I highly recommend to listen the audiobooks, the narrator did such a excellent job, you will feel like a part of the whole story and the bickering between the kings will be even more enjoyable as they all are narrated differently.
This book seemed kinda rushed to me. The book starts immediately after the 3rd book with Evie leaving the hunt and the Night king and Summer King having no memory of her. We learn that she went through the turning in the passage of time? Kinda confused about that still. And she pops back out at the night Kings club which is destroyed. Thousands of Humans are dead because of Pestilence. And apparently shes predictable and everyone figured that’s where she would come. Like I said this book is fast paces. From start to finish. I mean I think the entire 4th book is only about a 5 hour listen if you listen at x1 speed. It also end unsatisfyingly. I just have so man questions. Will we see a story following their future kings? What about her siblings? What happened to Sophie? Why does Lucy want her as his Heir? Does he really want to invade heaven or is he just lonely? Like him and Mayve had at least 3 children together and he had many other kids so maybe he’s just lonely ( I’m a softy for a Lucy story) What War will her Daughter start? (With Haven?) Honestly, I could have used an extended epilogue of her and her kings interacting together. We got so little of that in the books. The winter king is pretty much nonexistent past the 2nd book. and the other 2 were MIA most of the last book.

Overall it wasn't bad, would I recommend it? I mean sure, there despite an overall 3 star rating for the series, I did smash 4 books in 4 days. It was easy to get through and was enjoyable but at the same time, some parts had no flavour whilst others had too much to the point it became extremely frustrating to read.
There was a lot of different characters you kinda have to keep track of along with the storyline which became a bit much at times. This is one of Meg's earlier books so I will be trying more recent ones to see how her writing style has changed.
Blood Fae is book four in the series Dark Fae Kings by author Meg Xuemei X. It all has come to this a battle for the four kingdoms and the mortal realm. Will the true Queen stand up? Ladies and gents this isn’t just a fairytale, this is the fairytale of fairytales. Yes it’s a bit dark - heck it’s not a bit dark - it’s pitch black and brutal, with bits of light throughout its core. It’s sensual and delicious. And it’s show that in the end life is not all lollipops and gumdrops- it’s sorrow-joy-madness and resilience. Even though this is the last book - there is a moment that gives hope there could be more. So here’s to the more - bring it on Lucifer. Enjoy!!
Overall, the series was below par. The writing wasn’t very good and the author made the FMC very daft when it came to the winter king. Like I don’t think any reader honestly believed he really betrayed her. It was also very repetitive. We didn’t need to repeat of what just happened in the previous scene. The storyline was decent enough. The whole sacrificial thing threw me off. Why didn’t it happen during her turning? Why wouldn’t Evelina be stronger than her mates? Making her weaker than the fae kings when she comes from an archangel makes no sense.
The author made her such a cry baby. Overuse of the word “usurper”, we get it. The banter and dialogue was very immature. Can we elevate from dude, chick, stupid face and tits?
Honestly, the ending fell a little flat for me. Why chooses are some of my fav tropes so, I feel like as a why choose story, this one felt like it focused a little too much on Rydstrom (which fair cuz he’s the best) but I feel like there was a missed opportunity for both Baron and Rowan to shine. I think maybe if we had their POV it wouldn’t have been so bad. Additionally, the story fell just a LITTLE flat for me at the end. There was so much anticipation building up that I felt like the ending just…wasn’t enough? I wanted more drama or more blood or something!
Anyway, all in all, this story was wonderful. Great world building, great characters, just wish it was written in multiple POV with a better ending. Still completely worth the read though!
I read this in under a day...this is a quick read and what a good way to end the series. However, it felt rushed and not an ending but potentially another beginning. This is the main reason why it isn't a 5 star review. I felt that it didn't have the transitions I desired. Example, all of a sudden we were dealing with an issue, and wham bam thank you ma'am we have a steamy sexy situation. Hell, not complaining because I love all those kings and her...but it just felt rushed. It also makes me want more of their story, which shows how awesome Meg is. I will be reading more from her. Loved this book...sad it is over. Now what?
This ending was satisfactory, besides the moment where she gets pulled and "sacrifices" herself to the flames.. that part was not explained very well and just seemed to be thrown in there for the hell of it.
This book was as great as the first three. I really enjoy the relationship between the kings and Evie. They all have a relationship with her and they all have a reason to be with her and they are separated from each other. I love RH series, but I hate when the majority of the book is filled with threesome, foursome, and more... I love that she has multiple partners without having a convoluted sex life that is less realistic.

Blood Fae was a wild ride from start to finish, and it kept me hooked the whole way through. The stakes were higher, the action was intense, and the emotional moments hit harder than in the earlier books. I loved seeing how much the main character has grown—she’s still fiery and reckless at times, but she’s learning (kind of). The chemistry between her and the guys is hotter than ever, and the twists kept me guessing. A solid continuation of the series and a satisfying lead-up to whatever chaos comes next! Is there another book coming? Because it was left on a cliff hanger.
this one was actually partway decent. although her stupidity still bothers me. she supposed to run all of fairy but can't make even simple plans, I understand that she wants her mates back but as queen, your people come first but again she rushes into everything with no real thought. also, there is no real closure since they throw hints that more things are coming but this is the end of the series. why does her daughter start a war and what the hell (literally) is lucifer up to and how does she play into it but nope all we get is another shitty sex scene.

I really enjoyed this series. So much so that I read all 4 books in 3 days. I could not put it down. Omg the beginning boom had me laughing so hard at the first two kings Summer and Winter. I automatically fell for Night King because I love the dark ans sexy men. In the end I couldn't pick between any of them for her and glad she didn't have to either. The twists in the plot really kept me on edge to the point that I had to keep going. I was up two days this weekend till 3 am because I just had to know what was going to happen.
I appreciate that all ends were closed off, but it did feel a little rushed. I was definitely emotionally involved and absolutely got angry, I've been hooked on this story from the beginning and while I'm glad it wasn't dragged out like a lot of series tend to do, I wish there was a little more substance to it. I would love to see the POVs of each of the kings. They're all so different and come from different backgrounds it would have been nice to see their thought processes
From possessive kings who can't remember their mate to a hellish fake queen who wants to dominate everything, including the kings who don't belong to her. Meg has taken us on a wonderful journey throughout these four books and wrapped all the pieces up in this final book. Evie is a kickbutt MC who fights throughout for her family and mates bringing peace at last to farie and the end of the pandemic to the human world.
I am thoroughly pleased with the ending. It was worth the time to read it and I will remember the story for a long time to come. In my humble opinion it also left room for more, even though it wrapped up nicely. Could be a spin-off or just a continuation of the characters. It not needed, but would be interesting. I am looking forward to more great reads from Meg Xuemei X!
What a great wrap up to the series! Just like all the other books, it was full of excitement and danger and everlasting. But there was also teamwork and revelation and redemption and love. I loved the part that Evie’s family, especially Fawn, played in the stories - especially this book. And the final visit from Evie’s father…makes me hope for more from the series in the future.
Evie has finally come into her power and her true heritage has been revealed. Her twisted evil sister has taken all the fae Kings and wiped Evie from their memory, but nothing will stop her from getting her mates back. We follow Evie across the fae kingdoms as she readies herself for the final showdown with her sister. Can the true Queen conquer all and win back her mates? A fantastic ending to a great series!
It was a decent series overall but it just felt unrefined. There were so many good things but I kept finding myself saying “well that was fast” or “we not gona finish talking about this?”. It felt like some things were skimmed through but I didn’t mind it being fast paced for the most part. Also, from my own opinion, some of the things they said became cheesy after a while but that’s just me.
I'm not sure why I waited soooo long to read this series. The author is good and I love quite a few of her books. But I did finally read it and I'm glad I did. The author is good at pacing and doesn't just dump info with no context. She has a good reason for the info and when you get it. You will not be disappointed when you decide to read this or any other books by her.
Evelina's mates no longer belong to her. They're bound to the usurper queen's black magic. Baron and Rydstrom don't even remember her and the Winter King? He fully embraces his villain era. Now, she has one last chance to lure them into Hell's inferno and make them remember, or they'll all burn together.
If you love dark magic, deadly betrayals, and a heroine who refuses to lose, Blood Fae delivers an explosive, heart-stopping finale you won't forget. Read it NOW.
Wow what an awesome ending! The final fight was amazing in the way Meg Xuemei wrote it. It was very descriptive and you could feel the bloodlust. I’m sad this series has come to an end but can’t wait for the next series! And there was even a hint of this series continuing into a new storyline! I can’t wait to see what’ll happen next!!!
The war and apocalypse occurred and the world will never be the same. Sacrifices will be made. Family, friends and lovers are the anchor and give you something to fight for. I like how most ends of the story was tied, but the door was open for spinoff or new worlds within the same storyline.
This was a fantastic series. I love how it is full of action and drama. It me glued to as I had to find out how it ends. It is well written and the characters growth throughout the series is beautiful. The descriptions are vivid and allow you to easily picture what is happening at that time. It a a fantastic series that is definitely a must read.
Ileana/Eve truly discovers herself in the final story. Not even the geis can truly overcome the power of true mates but they are definitely tested. The final conclusion was exciting and I am sad to see it end but was glad that they got their happy ever after.
Really, really enjoyed this 4 book series, it was a great read, loved the characters and the worlds they lived in, I had many "no no, no" moments with my hands over my mouth, I had tears and laughter too. This entire series was a wonderful read.
From a human girl trying to care for her family to the Queen of all Fairies. An amazing series of love lost, found, worlds saved, worlds destroyed and of course 3 very sexy kings. I highly recommend this series.
