staying delusional that they will get a happy ending so that it will come true 🤩 (i'll just ignore the brooding feeling that i got when i saw josh's sad smile)
Screaming and crying 🫶 gosh it hurts and feels good at the same time. But lol Harris' condition made me tear up. He's like a walking zombie. Now, I'm afraid to see the next volume. This is still ongoing, right? I know, I'll be left with a broken heart afterward. I guess, I'll read another Ranmaru manga to mend it. Augh, I'm so upset!! It's too early and I still have time to read tons of volumes but I can't even make myself move. This is just so good, I never thought I'd face the end of the cliff this instant. Now, I'm left with nothing but the hollow in my chest.
The third volume in what is quickly becoming a favourite series of mine. Ranmaru Zaria is for sure a favourite manga artist.
A Romeo/Juliet style romance between Coyote, a werewolf, and Marleen, who comes from a mafia family of werewolf hunters. For obvious reasons the couple shouldn't work, but it does. And Coyote and Marleen have to navigate the dangerous waters to be together.
Marleen is determined to put a stop to the war, even if it means offering himself up to the werewolves as a hostage. Stressed about the danger that his lover has put himself in, Coyote works to keep him alive.
A silver-lining to the situation is that Marleen and Coyote get to spend more time together, at least for a while...
Tried to put off reading this volume because I don't want to wait so long for the fouth, but I couldn't help myself!
This was another great volume in this series! I’m so happy to be making progress with it 💖
In general, this volume did have considerable angst. I’m glad tho that Joshua and Coyote were able to work things out, tho! 🥺 Seeing them apart hurt me!
But I’m also happy that this series does have actual plot. This volume in general is pretty plot heavy because of the backstory that Joshua reveals. We get to know more about Joshua’s childhood, his relationship to his family, and some of the conflicts between his family and the werewolves.
Finally!!!! I feel like I've been waiting forever for this volume...and now I have to wait even longer for the next one... This is TORTURE! But, the sweetest torture, because each volume just gets better.
OMG! What a story. Twisty and hot. "We're going to be okay." That's fine, Marlene, but I'm not! It was so good to see the truth of Josh's past, and Coyote accepting his feelings, to see them reconnecting. It feels like the perfect ending would be for them to runaway together, to walk away from their lives, the families and their wolves, and live as Marlene and Lili, casting off their old lives and names to forge a new life together. But, time will tell.
Who, and what, is Dominic? I'm itching to know.
At this rate, this series could go on forever and I wouldn't care. No matter how long, or how it deviates, or what is revealed, I'll be here for it. Every step of the way.
Marlene goes in the werewolves den to see Lil, even if he is consider the enemy #1 because of the war between the Galland family and the shifters. He become a hostage but only want a cease fire and a life with his precious Coyote. Coyote accept to listen to his side of the story. We finally get to learn what happen to his parents. The forbidden romance continues, and they are totally smitten and in love! I adored the scene of their last night together & confession, not sure when they will see each other again. The art is truly beautiful and the romance to die for, I cannot wait for the next volume!
I love Ranmaru Zaria, she is so incredible at writing sex scenes and angst and longing from a distance. I love Coyote and Marleen together and seeing their interactions in this volume had me smiling so much. There are sentences these characters say to each other that have me wanting to cry because of the situation they are in and how much they love each other. This could be my favourite volume of this manga so far and am very excited to continue on to volume 4!
¿Cómo vine a parar aquí?
*Original Review 7/15/2021* Where is book 4?? Hand it over! That last scene of them together was so sweet :((((
The conflict was much tamer than I was expecting. Nothing dramatic really happened and the “hostage” situation ended pretty quickly, but it’s all setting up for something much bigger. I wonder how long this series is going to be. There seems to be a lot more that’s going to happen so it feels like there may be a few more, but I’m honestly very bad at judging story lengths.
Anyway, I’m liking this series and I want more. I believe the Japanese version of volume 4 still hasn’t released so who knows when we’ll get the english version. Hopefully soon :’(
Josh and Coyote are just...such star-crossed lovers. This volume's ending was so heartbreaking and tear-inducing. Plenty of loving moments between the two, and a strong installment of the series.
I lupi capiranno le sue buone intenzioni o no?
Absolutely spewing, dying, choking, spitting, convulsing for the next volume to come out in Engrish. This hoe is invested. Not only for the hoe plot, but the actual plot!
Basically our bois made-up, Marleen met the family, the fam like him, but also low key want to kill him. All normal yaoi werewolf tingz in play. Hopefully we'll get to see into the psyche and perspective of the Galland fam bam in the next vol. with Marleen on house arrest. Cause it turns out the furries are very reasonable... but idk bout the humans (they usually stupid). And we'll get some cute stalker-angsty-smut from Lili ALWAYS WATCHING. AGHHHHHH.
Okay. Who does that Hawaiian shirt wearin other gay wolf I can't remember the name of think he is? Like hello?
Herma? How bout Her-ve-ma-children please. She was spitting serious truths to Marleen and was completely right. I still ship Larleen obvi, but I was like DAMN, that's advice I would give to a friend. And she COULD have my children... Cause ya know...
I BELIEVE IN PIANO PLAYER X WOLF BRING TOGETHER THE MONTAGUES AND CAPULETS MINUS THE DYING PLS SUPREMACY
Uncover the gripping romance between Marleen and Lili. Incompatible worlds clash in a deep and emotional love story. This story boasts captivating chemistry, well-crafted art, pacing and a very enjoyable melodramatic storytelling reminiscent of Ranmaru Zariya’s previous work, Birds of Shangri-La.
Overall thoughts This is exactly the kind of sappy and melodramatic romance I’m here for. The tender chemistry between Lili and Marleen, their longing gazes, how even a hug conveyed so much passion and love… I loved it. I loved everything about this story—from the side cast to the main characters and how we shouldn’t take things at face value.
Who is this manga for This one is for fans of forbidden romance with a side of lupine pack structure! Melodrama, angst, earnestness… it has all of the good stuff.
I absolutely loved the first two volumes of this series, and three is just as good. Our star-crossed lovers are apart after Coyote learns who Josh really is. But, Josh is determined to win back his trust and his love: by literally marching into the wolves' den!
Josh surrenders humself as a hostage to help end the feud and earn him Coyote's love. The two finally learn the full truth about each other, but with hostages on both sides and tensions high, being together may not be possible.
This volume was very exciting with lots of story development including Josh's history, why he left the Gallands, the relationships among the wolves and why Coyote is smaller than other werewolves. There'sbeen no announcement of another volume, but I really hope the series continues. It's fantastic.

🇬🇧 One of my favorite yaoi discovered a few years ago. The story mixes impossible romance, investigation, spicy scene all with magnificent visuals. The pace is sometimes uneven but the story remains gripping. I can't wait to read more 🥰.🥰.
Gosh, I didn't ever think I would love this series so much. I love how Josh was treating Coyote, like treating a princess!! What a real prince-charming he is! Udah gak zaman cowok enggan bilang "cinta" ke pasangannya. Entah karena malu, sok cool, sok maskulin. Suka banget Josh yang bilang "cinta" begitu sering, tanpa malu, tanpa basa-basi. Bilang "cinta" duluan dan sering gak mengurangi kejantanan kalian kok, Cowok.
Josh memperlakukan Coyote penuh pendambaan, cinta, kasih-sayang, kelembutan. Paket lengkap! Josh is such a hopelessly romantic, cliche-sometimes-cheesy man! I want someone like him irl :")
I really like the pacing and the narrative framing of this manga series. Both Coyote/Lili and Marleen (Josh Galland) get some more backstory that thickens their motives and their characters. Now a captive, Marleen tries to reach Coyote, trying to tell him "his truth", his tale of love, and his hatred for his family's actions. Coyote is conflicted by his feels for his werewolf family who have raised him and his love for Marleen who takes care of him while "in heat". I look forward to where the next volume will take us.
