(4.5) Killian gets it done! I enjoyed this one it had layers, twists, turns and suspense. Stacey was intelligent, likeable and not in your face screecher. Go Stacey. Killian's second, or helper Hatch was awesome in his own right and I am looking forward to his story. Stacey is kidnapped, manages to free herself and is kidnapped again! Talk about bad luck, and this second kidnapper, well lets say I would be evil enough to pay someone to rough him up a bit. Not proud, but there, I said it. Killian and Hatch rescue her and run into snafus, bad guys and more bad guys. It is hard to keep a series fresh and i think this one book put a little extra newness. Thank you for the arc. I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions.

A 3.5 stars read.
As you know I'm a big fan of a light suspense read, this type of book always made up my day. It's always fun, full of action, great mystery and suspense. This book is definitely fall in that category, so yeah I really enjoyed it.
It's Killian's book. Killian's mission was to rescue a woman that's being kidnapped twice, yup you heard that right, twice kidnapped. It was full of suspense from the beginning. I enjoy the mystery of who's involved and responsible for the kidnappings. I knew some of the bad guys and the motive, but there was another question surrounding the second kidnapping that got me turning page after page. It might be a bit dragging in the middle and pretty predictable, but I still really like it though, especially the cute romance between Killian and Stacey and their banter.
Totally recommended for anyone who's looking for a light suspense romance read
I love the Maverick series. It's Killian's turn this time. There's plenty of action, suspense, heat. When Stacey is kidnapped, who father, who's a retired governor, had her late in life was as old fashioned as they come. But he sought help outside the cops and anyone else. When Killian finally found her, she was worse for wear, for a better word. Can't wait to read Hatch's story. HEA. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Killian I would want Killian saving me if ever I needed saving!
He has excellent instincts and reads people exceptionally well. He’s also not afraid to put himself in danger to help someone, and in this case, Stacey. She has been kidnapped twice and is not in favor of making it a third time which is why she is somewhat leery of Killian when he finds her hiding in the woods. She is sure her soon-to-be ex-husband is behind the first kidnapping, but not so sure of the second one. That could have been a crime of opportunity.
Stacey definitely has a target on her back but being wounded by her second kidnapper so she couldn’t escape, but escape she does, into the woods, which is where Killian fortunately finds her. Killian and his teammate, Hatch, secure the area and the car where Stacey was stowed in and escaped from the trunk her second kidnapper had put her in. She is wounded, scared, and now hiding from both situations. It’s a dangerous game of cat & mouse trying to keep Stacey safe while tending to her injuries and getting her some much-needed rest at the same time trying to figure out just who is behind her kidnapping.
Killian is a man of action. He and Hatch, along with the virtual assistance from teammate, Jerricho, they are determined to find those responsible and get Stacey back home to her father. Stacey is also worried that something bad has happened to her elderly father while she has been on the run. This story gets ramped up even more when Stacey reveals that when she ran from her abusive husband, Max, she took some of his things to help ensure her safety. Now she realizes this has backfired and he is now aggressively hunting her.
I love the suspense of this story and the undertone of attraction between Stacey and Killian. They both recognize life can change in a moment so you must live and take advantage of each one as it comes. Great story, I loved it!
This is another riveting story in Dale Mayer’s “The Mavericks” series. The action in this book begins immediately and doesn’t let up until the last page. Even the setting is fascinating – the Vancouver Island in Canada.
Stacey is the runaway wife of an abusive criminal. When she escapes her husband, she takes some valuable information as protection from him. Unfortunately, her husband wants his property back, and he wants to make sure she is permanently silenced. Therefore, he sends some of his minions to kidnap her.
Stacey, miraculously, finds a way to escape from her captors. However, before she can run for freedom, she, unhappily, falls into the hands of another kidnapper. This crook demands a ransom from Stacey’s father, the retired governor of New York, and he calls The Mavericks to help.
Killian, the agent from The Mavericks, is the hero, and the star, of this book. Stacey is seriously injured and needs lots of medical attention. Throughout the entire book, Killian, and Hatch, his partner, need to keep Stacey safe from both sets of kidnappers. Along with that, he is her caregiver, as he attempts to heal Stacey’s physical injuries as well as her mental scars, from her tragic situations.
Stacey’s recovery period brings out the wonderful qualities that make Killian a wonderful hero. He is patient to Stacey’s, understandable, mood swings. He carefully tends to her wounds, ensures that she takes her medicine, and overseas everything about her recovery. He is also strong, brave and efficient in keeping her safe. In short, he is the man of every woman’s dreams!
Stacey is independent, strong-willed and persistent as she works hard to recover and return to normal life. She is fighting her abusive ex-husband, her fear of being recaptured, her depression at being kidnapped twice and at being seriously injured.
The respect between Killian and Stacey is palpable, and their interplay is enjoyable and affectionate. Meanwhile, the reader becomes captivated as we watch this couple slowly fall in love.
As Killian sets off on his own mission with little time off, I wonder if I like the way they find themselves attracted to their mission goal more than the way they get their partner for the mission.
In this case it's definitely a toss up. Hatch surprises Killian in his hotel room, which could have gone sideways but didn't. Of course Jerricho is his handler on this one providing the intel they'll need to accomplish their goal.
The town of Whitehorse has a strange atmosphere to Killian, it's relatively early yet the streets are deserted. He's taking a walk to familiarize himself with the route to the ransom dropsite. Hatch is out their too but Killian has that strange sensation of being followed.
Stacey Edgewater had escaped her kidnappers only to be kidnapped again. She was seen crawling out of a car on a ferry and became the prey to another lowlife. She's figured out that the husband she left hired the first two but she hasn't figured out the one that have her now. Now she's informed she's being sold but not like she figured, apparently two people want her and this kidnapper wants the money from both. He's got money from one and he's now about to collect from the other. Boy is he in for a surprise.
Even injured Stacey manages to get away, fortunately Killian is able to find her and help her stay hidden until they can both get away.
Then the fun begins.
Not only do they have to find and put an end to the kidnappings, the whole thing escalates with the knowledge that she took something from her husband when she left. Something he'll do anything to get back.
I couldn't put this book down, there's a lot of crazy involved before things get solved and of course Killian and Stacey are in denial of the attraction, well mostly.
I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
It was Killian's turn to lead a two man mission after successfully assisting Jericho on his lead mission. Killian Nordstrom was to have his old SEAL buddie, Hatch Collar as his backup and Jericho was to be their handler. The Mavericks were a covert black ops team of highly trained military personnel who were able to work without the restraints of the armed forces. Killian's mission was to answer a vague SOS from Chef Stacey Edgewater who had been travelling the world after escaping from her controlling, abusive husband. Stacey's father, a retired New York governor was now worried for his daughter's safety, she had been kidnapped, escaped and kidnapped again but by whom. Sadly her father hadn't believed Stacey when she told him that her husband had been violent toward her, he had old south values where a handshake sealed a deal and a man would never raise a hand to a woman. Stacey was being held to ransom, was it her first kidnappers or someone else ? was it her ex husband who would go to any lengths to retrieve the evidence that Stacey had taken when she had run away, evidence that would put him behind bars for many years. This story follows the tracing and rescue of Stacey, it is action packed, suspense filled, Killian was to put his life on the line to save Stacey and of course The Maverick magic worked it's spell and love blossomed between Stacey and Killion. I love The Maverick series, I love the values that the men live by and the respect for their women. I look forward to the next one in the series. I received a free copy of this book and my review is voluntary.
Killian is given a mission to retrieve a woman who has had the bad luck to be kidnapped, escape and then get kidnapped again. With a very sketchy SOS, he tracks her from Vancouver to Alaska and then all the intel has stopped. Cisco is a late child for her father and is, therefore, the apple of his eye, however, when she really needed him he wasn't there to believe her and therefore protect her. She is currently on the run from her abusive ex, her last kidnapper is a seasoned negotiator who has seen she is in trouble is planning to auction her to the highest bidder. With all these threads running together Killian is going to have to find the predator in the middle and take him out as without doing that Cisco is never going to ever be safe again.
I really enjoyed this story which has lots of layers of bad guys to dig through in order to find the central one and ensure Cisco's safety. There was certainly a lot of depravity, and lack of respect to women in common for these bad guys. Throughout all of that badness was Killian, proving that he was trustworthy and that there was no way he would ever hurt a woman - in fact, to do so was just an alien concept to him. I loved all the mystery and action in this story as well as the attraction that was completely impossible to deny between both Killian and Cisco. Easy to read and understand, I was completely rooting for them to find the ultimate bad guy in order to get freedom. Contains a little sexual content at the end of the story.

When Stacy the daughter of the retired governor of New York, is kidnapped Mavericks are called to rescue her. The Mavericks are a black ops secret government agency. Two ex-SEALs, in this case Killian and Hatch, work together on missions with the rest of the Maverick team providing intel and anything else they may need. I am a big fan of Dale Mayer, but this book wasn’t my favorite. I like the plot and action. I just thought the relationship in the book was a little awkward. Stacy and Hatch seemed to have a good rapport, but Stacy kept reminding us that she was more attracted to Killian. I never really understood why. The friendship between the three characters was enjoyable and the story was original and made up for the minor issue I had. I don’t think this should keep anyone from reading the book.

This is an exciting action packed suspense filled romance story. When Killian gets a call that his mission is ready he asks where he's going he know he's suppose to go to Canada but may end up in Alaska. A woman has been kidnapped she managed to escape only to be kidnapped again this time by a sex trafficking ring.Killians back up surprises him an makes him happy when he sees him for the first time since the mission went bad but Hatch looks nothing like he did before but the Drs did an amazing job. When Hatch asks Killian if he thinks he'll find the love of his life on this mission Killian says he doubts he would be so lucky.Hatch says didn't your last partner fall in love with the woman he rescued? This story has it all action, suspense, danger, passion an finding love where you least expect it.There are so many twists an turns you will be riveted until the very last page.I can hardly wait to see what's next by this multi talented author.
Stacey seriously has the worst luck right now, not only was she kidnapped but escaped only to be kidnapped again and has no clue of they are both related or someone else is after her. Fortunately she has Killian and Hatch not only to rescue her but also keep her safe as it appears the bad guys are always closing in no matter what and she needs the Mavericks smarts and knowledge to get the upper hand and put a stop to the danger which leads to some crazy discoveries and some cat n mouse. I always enjoy the paring of the guy in this series as they obviously have to work well together as well as get on with who they rescue, but you also really want the banter between them and I feel like Killian and Hutch are one of my most favorite especially the dynamic between the three as they balanced each other out, so I really hope Hatch gets his own gal soon as he totally deserves one.

When Stacey gets kidnapped not once but twice, her father calls in the Mavericks to rescue her after he gets a ransom demand. Killian is up for the task and Hatch joins him on the rescue up in Canada. Stacey is over getting kidnapped and is over her abusive ex husband who is more than likely responsible for her kidnappings and will fight to stay alive. When Killian comes to her rescue, it’s just in time but the kidnapper escapes and her ex is still out to get her….with Killian and Hatch by her side, they may have a chance of winning. A great read with some suspense and action and a bit of steam. I liked these two, no drama, no misunderstandings and honesty between them. The story flowed nicely, with great and strong characters. One of my favorites from this series. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
Killian is the 15th book in The Mavericks by author Dale Mayer. Every one of these books have kept my interest from the first page until the last page and with a sigh that it all worked out well for the main characters. There were a few more injuries for Stacey but it was all part of the plot of what evil people will do in certain circumstances. I enjoyed the partnership between Killian and Hatch. The banter between Stacey and Hatch was so amusing. I once again admire the expert writing of Dale Mayer who tells the story of bad things happening to people and how much effort goes into making things turn around. Always there are twists and turns that makes this series a “must read”. Highly recommend this book. Enjoy the suspense, the comradeship and the romance.
Killian is sent on a mission, with Hatch as his back-up, to find a woman who may or may not really be in trouble. Stacey was being ransomed by the second man to kidnap her. When Killian shows up to rescue and 'pay' the ransom all hell breaks loose and the only good thing was Stacey getting out of there and getting the medical attention she needed. Then the chase was on! The 3 of them were on the run to escape the area to a safe house, find the ex husband and the kidnappers, and protect Stacey. With each new piece of information more garbage had to be investigated and more trouble came their way. May twists and turns with surprises along the way. Will Killian and Stacey make it back to the States with Hatch, will the romance we see blooming come to anything? Oh, so many questions and yet will there be enough answers?
Stacey may have been able to leave her husband, but the danger is far from over as what she believed was an insurance policy may be her downfall as it has only made him more determined to find her and silence her. After narrowly escaping one threat she finds herself right in the middle of another one scared, injured, alone and uncertain if even Killian can be trusted.
Killian and his team have been retained by her father to rescue and protect his daughter but that is made even more difficult when they don’t know who is behind the threat. He is impressed by her strength and resilience through everything she has endured and continues to endure as she fights for her freedom and her future.
As the action and danger increases there are no other words to describe Stacey except for inspiring while Killian is exactly what she needs as he is patient, understanding and protective.
Killian by Dale Mayer The Mavericks Series Book Fifteen Killian Nordstrom is heading up a Mavericks mission. Teamed with an old friend, they had out to find a woman who was not only kidnapped once, but after escaping, she was kidnapped a second time. They have ransom money…but they don’t work that way. Stacey Edgewater couldn’t believe her situation. Or how evil someone could be to kidnap someone who needed help. And she was pretty sure it was her evil husband behind at least the first one. How could she trust anyone else? Due to injuries, they weren’t able to leave right away, but due to the danger…they had to get out of their hotel quickly. As always, a fast-paced read as the characters have to figure out who and where the bad guys are and try to stay ahead of them. **Sexual content and language https://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com...
Former Navy Seals are part of an elite organization that doesn't have restrictions like the Navy. They do the same thing but have more leeway to get the job done. Two-man teams get an assignment to rescue victims. Each story lead finds romance/partner.
Interesting story. You get kidnapped and escape only to be kidnapped by the person you thought was rescuing you. Killian is diligent after rescuing the victim and keeping her safe. But who were the two independent kidnappers working for? Twists and turns keep the story interesting.
The men all sound the same, with the same values in life, who want justice for the victims and to make the world a better place to live. There will always be evil people in the world. Their jobs will never end in the fight against evil.
There's a saying - "if it wasn't for back luck, I'd have no luck". That certainly seems to be the case for Stacey when she is kidnapped not once but twice, with the second time being just as she escaped from the first kidnappers. There were several bad guys in the beginning and that created issues for Killian to determine who they all were since they had no video of them and Stacey hadn't seen them. Now throw in an abusive husband, a creepy friend of his, and some documentation that Stacey stole from her husband before attempting to disappear, and you know there will be plenty of action. There were some twists that kept you guessing what would happen next and at times holding your breath. Another great fast-paced story in this series.
Okay, being kidnapped is bad enough but escaping then finding the man who stepped forward to help you is another kidnapper with an entirely different agenda, well that's just a bit much. And I thought I had a bad day here and there! But Killian is there to help and that is a plus. The search for the offending parties, their reasons and extenuating circumstances is what this story is about. Well done as always, this is an interesting read. Stacy (who was kidnapped) and Hatch (who is helping Killian) are equally interesting people and have and compelling dialog too. Getting to the 'Happily Ever After' part is full of action. Bet we see if Hatch gets the girl in the next adventure! Can't wait!
Another great, action packed adventure in this series. This mission if taken care of by Killian and Hatch. On the hunt for a kidnapped woman, they cross the border into Canada. So many layers to this story, mysteries inside mysteries. A crooked almost ex husband who wants her dead, and just who are the other players in this scene and what's their agenda? Her father is a retired politician and he's put our a call for help. She doesn't know who the good guys are anymore, she's been hurt and she's angry. Such a great plot, just when it looks clear another twist of danger is thrown in. I can't wait to read Hatch's mission next and watch him get the girl.
Stacey was kidnapped and through her own ingenuity got away. Talk about jumping from the frying pan into the fire. Now what? Killian and Katch made it there in time to get her away. Hatch and Stacey keep sniping at each other keeping things lively and far from dull. Killian just watches and keeps them on track to getting her out of there and back to her father once she is able to travel from her wounds from the kidnapper. I cannot say to much more without giving away the story and it is to good to ruin with spoilers. This is a great book and you can never go wrong with a Dale Mayer book.

4.5 Stars This is book 15 in The Mavericks series and it features Killian and Stacey. If ever there was a person with bad luck, it has to be Stacey. Running from an abusive husband, she gets into so much trouble, which is where Killian comes in to play. She’s very cautious with any man after being married to a monster. There are sparks between her and Killian but the fun banter is between her and Hatch.
So much more is happening in this story. Fabulous mystery and suspense along with a slow burning romance. The story line is fantastic! The characters are awesome! I love that this author has all these alpha men but also these women that give them a run for their money.
3.5 stars. I enjoy romantic suspense immensely. This series could be classified as that. Stacey and Killian have a fun relationship which is more visible to the Maverick of the day's partner than the reader in this book it's Hatch. I did not quite see or rather feel the chemistry between the two much in the book, although they banter like two very good friends more often than not. The attraction all happens after the action, the mystery, the drama and the suspense is all over. The attraction leads to chemistry. You want to keep reading because you do want to know how it ends. When it's finished it's just great that all is well and ends well.
Catching up with an old friend sees Killian join up to meet his mission, a lady that needs help as was kidnapped. Stacey who is kidnapped not once but twice thinis her life us over and her ex husband will win. Stacey us not sure who she can trust but when her Dad is attacked she learns fast she can count on Killian. Working together to figure out what has happened during both kidnappings they grow a strong bond which has them thinking they may have a future together but needs to work things out first. A great pace book, keeps the pages turning. Love this story.
Killian's mission is to rescue a former senator's daughter from her kidnapper. Stacy escaped from her abusive husband with evidence of his criminal activities. Stacy managed to escape the first kidnappers and is trying to escape the second one. Killian will need to be extra vigilant to keep Stacy safe. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I love the books in the series that feature strong men and women that work against evil. The story is very suspenseful and action-packed. It is a quick enjoyable read.
I loved Killian and Stacey's story. This one was a little less action focused but the tension is ramped up big time. Stacey has the WORST luck. There is plenty of humor to go with the suspense. Especially with Hatch. His interactions with Stacey were some of my favorite scenes. I really enjoyed how Killian treated Stacey through everything they were going through. This one put a smile on my face and left me really wanting Hatch's book.

"Killian" is a great addition to the Mavericks series and as soon as I started reading I knew I wouldn't be able to put this book down until I read every word. Killian is called up to retrieve a woman who has been kidnapped and tracks her to Canada. I loved the undeniable attraction and chemistry between Killian and Stacy and held on to the edge of my seat through this thrilling adventure. If you enjoy well crafted romantic suspense, you will love "Killian". I received an advance reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Killian is tasked with finding a kidnap victim and is teamed upwith an old friend, Hatch. They set off to find the daughter of an ex senator who has asked The Mavericks to find her. Stacey has had a rough time of it and as always the journey is never smooth. One disaster after another follows with plenty of action and a side of romance to keep you turning the pages through to the conclusion. A great addition to this series.

I can't believe we are on book 15 already. It's seems like it's been years since book 1 was out that started the whole saga. Killian has been sent to rescue Stacey who was kidnapped. She escapes but is kidnapped again. This time injured. Killian is in a race against time to secure the kidnapped woman. But with multiple players involved and now her dad kidnapped it's a race against time to take them out. Loved the story and the characters. Can't wait for Hatch's story.
