First in the Jade Valley, Wyoming series in which Sunny Breckinridge comes home to help her father after he breaks his leg and has difficulty managing Sunny's baby niece and nephew twins. Dean Wheeler is a long-time foreman of the Breckinridge ranch who wants to buy the ranch but has yet to broach the idea with Sunny's father.
But she has an idea: a fake marriage that will give Dean the ranch and enable Sunny to convince her father to come back to LA with her with the twins so that she can have her family and keep her job at the same time.
A great idea, right? Except that feelings get in the way: Dean has loved Sunny since their high school days but she remains clueless--that is, until she realizes that she's fallen in love with the guy she's always thought of as her best friend. What to do? Making matters even worse is her boss offering her a major promotion IF she can convince him and a group of evaluators what what she would do with said promotion would also help the company. She's determined to have it all, but is that going to be possible? And what if her father refuses to turn over the ranch to Dean? Or refuses to go to LA?
