Their relationship was forged in fire. Now they’ll face the most incendiary danger of all: each other.

Olivia was trapped in a loveless marriage to an icy control freak for more years than she cares to remember. She swore that once she was free, she’d never settle for anything less than fierce, true love. She thought she’d found it with Trent; obviously, she was wrong.

When Trent closes his eyes at night, all he sees is Olivia’s huge blue eyes, full of fire. In his sleep, his hands trace her curves in the air. But every morning he wakes up alone in a cold bed. He doesn’t deserve her, he knows that much. And he’s determined to leave her in peace.

Easier said than done.

When they’re both called as witnesses in a federal prosecution, they’re marked for execution. Forced to stay together in a safe house, they do their best to avoid one another. But when the government safe house goes up in flames, they end up right back where they started: on the run with no one to trust but each other.

Review for Ablaze by Melissa Miller
This third book in the Shenandoah series did not disappoint. The book starts off with a literal bang and the action doesn’t stop from there. Olivia and Trent have really put the clues together and now have targets on their back’s. They each have skills that are useful but in this case they have to turn to their friends to put them into action.
The plot is fast paced and ends with a satisfying conclusion. I really liked how Melissa Miller had the other characters come in to play in this book. We again meet Assistant U.S. attorney Ryan Hayes and Leilah Khan, the race track owner and her brother Omar with the DEA. Also in on the action are Jake West, the owner of Potomac Private Services, Chelsea Bishop, Olivia’s cousin and Marielle Moreau, Olivia‘s best friend. These friends all have special skills which can help Olivia and Trent catch the bad guys who tried to kill them. I hope this series continues so we can welcome all these great characters into our reading lives agains. They have becomes like friends that I will miss.

# 3. ABLAZE...Melissa.Miller
Trent had an indictment for the murder of Rear Admiral Sampson against him. Word is to silence him permanently for a quarter million.
Now he will be in a safe house sharing with Olivia Santos. She left him, after exposing corrupt politicians and vanished. Her hide out has been this safe house and now the house was ablaze, after Trent arrived.
They are on the run no cash, cards, or car, who to trust to get word to their handler. With a notebook Olivia is trying to make a timeline of events with the murder of Carla, something is missing. Fast action, and a good 3 part novella
showing team work to take down the guilty.
Given Arc for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

This was a very satisfying end to this series. What's probably important to mention is that even though I read the first part in January and the second part in February, I remembered what had happened well enough that I didn't need to re-read them in order to hit the ground running with this book (so to speak). And that, to me, is the sign of an excellent storyteller. (That's not to say, of course, that you can't re-read the previous two parts, and I'll be doing that, in order to read the whole story from beginning to end at once, but it's because I really, really like the story, not because I have to to be able to know what's going on.)

If there are more books about this cast of characters, I'll be happy to read them!

I was privileged to receive an ARC of Ablazed. It was a great wrap-up for Olivia and Trent. Another race to the end novella. Ms. Miller's characters are believable and you become invested in them and their story. The plot was possible political worst-case but right always wins. Trent and Olivia are on the run for their lives and with the help of a US Marshall and Jake, Omar, Ryan, Marielle, Claudia, and Leilah, they survive. I hope these novellas grow into another series - I would love to read more about Trent and Olivia and the adventures they might have, but would also like to see what plays out with the others. Potomac Private Services looks promising to provide many adventures!

Trent and Olivia continue with their push/pull relationship but things are coming to ahead now and someone wants them gone no matter what so they are left on the run together and not knowing who they can trust (to be fair I wouldn't trust anyone at this point!) or how they can pull the last few clues together to work out who is behind it all. I just love love love all the characters not just Trent and Olivia but also their friends who are there for them in a heart beat so mix that with plenty of tension, danger and an attraction that Trent and Olivia really need to address this conclusion to the series leaves you on the edge of your seat as well as with a smile on your face!

Once again, Miller has written a book I could not put down! “Ablaze” by Melissa Miller brought me right back into the race Olivia and Trent were in to find answers and save their lives. I felt like I was in a race against time and far too many forces, right alongside the crew of their friends - working and fighting for justice. The novella ended perfectly and gives me hope we’ll get to hear the rest of the Potomac Security crew’s stories. Fantastic novella series that leaves me crossing my fingers for more!

I received an ARC of “Ablaze” for an honest review.

Ablaze perfectly wraps up the Shenandoah Shadows series. All the pieces are tied together from the start of Trent and Olivia's adventure in Burned to the additional pieces they put together in Scorched. Trent, Olivia, their closest allies, and a new face all come together to put an end to the web of lies that has been built. Ablaze is action packed, full of details and adventure which makes you feel like you're right there next to the characters.

I read all four books in this series in about 5 days - love the new character Olivia, - in this book she and Trent are both marked for execution, so they are put in a safe house which goes up in flames when they are out on a run - this forces them to go on the run, together, only able to trust each other - short books, likable characters, just the right amount of sizzle, and cliff hanger endings make for a quick read!!

This novella trilogy tells the story of burned CIA agent Olivia Santos and ex SEAL Trent Mann who now works as a private military contractor. The author chose to break the story up into three parts. All three had plenty of action, suspense, espionage and a whole bevy of traitors. There is also a large cast of characters that help Olivia and Trent through the books.

The next novella trilogy feature Trent's boss Jake West and Olivia's cousin Chelsea. Cant wait to dive into.

The final book in this fast-paced trilogy!

Olivia and Trent are forced to run, after the safe house they were both staying in, is set alight. Together, using contacts they know they can trust, they try piecing together all the information they can think of, to understand the bigger picture.

I really enjoyed this series, and was totally invested in the characters. Though each book is a novella, they're full of action, suspense and intrigue.

I would love to read more about these characters one day!

These Books Are Thrillers AND Love Stories

I'm not a romance novel reader but these stories are written in a way that someone who is good with action scenes with love scenes can read them and no gag or rage at all the violence. They are easy to read, no at all sophomoric but still possessing intrigue and suspence. You gotta love Trent and Olivia and the rest of the gang.

Ablaze concludes the story of Trent and Olivia. Although I liked the story, I felt that the ending was a little contrived with everything coming together a little too neatly. The first two books in this series kept you on the edge of your seat and most of this third book followed a similar structure. I think I would have liked it better is it wasn’t such a happily ever after ending.

From the first chapter, the pace was set for a perfect conclusion for this excellent series! I do hope it's not the last we see of these characters. I think Sasha and Bodhi would be in good company.

I couldn't put the book down

My brains is not a lie or an exaggeration. I couldn't put the book down. Every time I thought it was time to turn off my tablet and get some sleep, I decided to read just one more chapter.

Shenandoah Shadows

I hesitated between 2 and 3 stars. Dreaming up the solution really turned me off. The drippy sweet stuff does not belong in such a genre and the story could have been condensed into one book.

Another great storyline.

I really appreciate that this author always has such strong women in her books. They are fearless and capable of making it in their own but look for strong partners.

Another Page Turner

I'm still not sure how much I like this serial form of story telling, but I know I'm delighted with the story Miller is telling. I'll definitely be reading the next installment.

Pages missing

The book was good and I really enjoyed the storyline, but there were a lot of pages missing which meant I missed out on bits. A bit disappointing.

I enjoyed this but felt book(novella 2) and this one should have been written as a single book. The second one left you hanging with the story unfinished.

A very fast paced and fitting conclusion to a lovely trilogy. The story is full of twists and turns that leave the readers guessing the bigger picture for a very long time. The book beautifully depicts the bond that is true love and friendship through the best and worst of times.

A great conclusion to hopefully a new series with many compelling characters. I hope we see more of Jake, Trent, and Olivia as well as the others.
The conclusion to the 3 novellas was nicely paced and tightly written.
