I remember begging whoever was putting me to be to read it to me again and again, and then I loved reading it myself when old enough. I have read this book on and off over mg teen years and as an adult, most recently because I was moving house and got distracted when I was supposed to be unpacking my book shelves.

Nice short story involving a creature from english/scottish folklore. I would have liked it okay as a kid. The illustrations are great.
