Oran's not right in the middle of the Vigilance activity, so there's no danger from the outside to create drama in this short, but there's a ton of chemistry, leading to instalust right on into instalove. Silvia Violet writes some of the best sex scenes out there and this book is no exception. I loved this side-trip into the woods, where Ainsley gets stuck at Oran's cabin and they get to have hot, hot sex for days. It's sweeter than the rest of the books, and I loved every bit of it.

I haven't read any of the Vigilance books so I was concerned I wouldn't be able to follow Misdeeds, but I'm happy to say Misdeeds is a standalone. (It felt like it anyway) The Vigilance series has been on my wish list for some time and I'm definitely going to have to get them now. Ainsley was fun and snarky and Oran was just a big grizzly bear. Loved it!

Just a little niggling fact. Ainsley did not use the bathroom at all from the time he arrived at the cabin before dinner until after breakfast the next morning. And then had sex again!

This story follows Ainsley, who takes a wrong turn and ends up at a secluded cabin belonging to Oran, a rugged and grumpy former army ranger. Oran isn't exactly welcoming—his price for shelter is steep—but Ainsley is more than willing to pay, and soon finds himself wanting to stay longer than planned. What starts as a simple exchange turns into something more, leaving Ainsley questioning whether he ever truly wants to leave this unexpected retreat.

This short story is a mix of tension, attraction, and the allure of isolation, wrapped in an intriguing dynamic between two very different personalities. There wasn't much about feelings as much of this story was about their physical relationship. However, there was a HEA. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

This is a really very sexy side story from Vigilance with two characters who have absolutely explosive chemistry and very heated scenes. However, it had some hard insta-love that wasn't easy to get behind. In a way this is the definition of a vacation romance, as Ainsley has taken a one week vacation from work to run from his problems and has accidentally ended up at Oran's cabin. Though they enjoy their week together it is a week where they don't really learn much beyond the surface and they get to relax and have fun the whole time. Impetuously deciding to commit to each other at the end of this short feels way too fast as real life starts to creep in. It was a very sexy short, it just jumped the ending a bit.

Hot, sexy, short read! Ainsley left Boston to find his friends cabin. He gets list in a blizzard, pulls off into a driveway and goes into an unlocked cabin with a fire going and falls asleep. He is then woken by the owner, Oran. Oran is ex-military and having PTSD, he's been a hermit thinking he's not fit for company. He tells Ainsley he can stay for a price....being his for a night. Ainsley accepts and they both have the best sex of their lives. Come morning, Ainsley doesn't want to go and Oran wants him to stay....forever. Liked the ending!

I wish both characters were a little fleshed out. For a novella this was rather "quick". Everything happened so fast I wasn't able to breathe and enjoy it.

I wanted more of Ainsley and Oran. I've read all of Vigilance and the Marchesi Family and never once was there Oran mentioned (at least not that I can remember), so I felt a little lost. Was I supposed to know who he was? The only way I knew this was a Vigilance book was because of the pictures in his cabin of the guys.

This was my first Silvia Violet book and the characters are strong and developed, the romance wasn't as developed in this short story as I would have liked. Ainsley is fleeing Boston, heading to a friend's cabin, yet gets lost and ends up in Oran's front yard. Oran need the solitude, or so he thinks, but can't let Ainsley freeze to death in his car. I liked how Oran's stand-offish and sometimes off-handed comments don't scare Ainsley and the HEA.

I’ve read this author before but not this series. This is a mm contemporary novella set in the USA. The main characters are Ainsley a lost inexperienced traveler from Boston and Oran an ex Special Forces soldier who is hiding from the world. The two meet when Ainsley enters Orans house after a snow storm. Oran asks for payment in sex. The two quickly agree that they are meant to be together. I’ll read more from this series.

Sexy and quick read.

Ainsley can be a little impulsive, which is why he’s lost in a bad snowstorm without the necessary clothing. Yep, he just might freeze to death. However, his luck just might be turning around when he slides on the icy roads into a driveway where the cabin looks inhabited.

If you love dominant Alpha males, this book is definitely for you.

Holy hotness ya’ll! I loved Oran and Ainsley’s story! It was as super steamy, sexy, sweet and fun. I’ve been loving the Vigilance world that Silvia creates and this was a great short set in that world. Ainsley was so sweet and I loved how Oran broke down his walls with him. Did I mention those super hot sexy times?! So hot.

Winter Wonderland download. Boston-based techie and woodsman with a past get snowed in. That's the story line for this short. Besides 4-legged Brute, Violet reveals a smattering about the main characters, mainly through torrid set scenes. Cute and entertaining, it's part of a series which is a spinoff of another series.

Typical erotica. I haven't read the rest of the series but seems to stand on it's own. There's no wider plot involved just straight forward guy gets lost, finds remote abandoned cabin, falls asleep and wakes up to big scary lumberjack dude who is willing to let him stay for sex. And they fall in love. Obviously. But it's a short read with red hot sex scenes. 3 stars.

A freaking hot, no, filthy short story with insta love, domination, a bear of a man, and a cute twink, that's my idea of a perfect read. I've always enjoyed the 'lost in a snowstorm and find a remote cabin' trope, gives me goosebumps, just love it. This was gorgeous and over too soon, but at least it had an hea. Enjoy your life together in the woods Ainsley and Oran, oh and Brute too.

Short yet steamy quick read. I enjoyed the references to previous stories and characters. But this wasnt my fav.read of the series.

While Oran was out, his own goldilocks came to call, and unlike the 3 bears Oran decided to keep his intruder. Ainsley was fleeing Boston, to take a short break from his disaster of a life, little did he know a snow storm would give him his new future.

Quick, no angst M/M short story

Written in dual first person POV. Lots of M/M sexy times given the length of the story. Not many editing issues, which is a first. The premise is fine. Expect a “love at first sight” kind of story.
