Would Cindy even want him back after all that had gone on before? And would Nicky allow her former friends to seek happiness together without spoiling their plans?

Derrick and Cindy’s story had me tied up in knots. Poor Cindy put more trust in her so called best friend Nicky, than she did in the Love of her life and her gut. Cindy wanted to see Derrick succeed and because of life situations she thought it would be best if he married her friend Nicky , who was an American Citizen , so he could get a green card. I could not understand why everyone including Derrick thought it was a terrible idea And yet Derrick trying to please ,Cindy, the love of his life went along with the plan.
The things that transpired after the green card wedding were so convoluted I really couldn’t see how it was going to work It just seemed like things were getting worse with each move Derrick made in order to get his relationship with Cindy back on track. I felt so bad for him. Things truly got worse before they got better. Book 1 of this series really has me interested in seeing what happens next ❤️
As I began reading, I was intrigued by Derrick and Cindy's story. The story has a twist which I love. Tge story seems to just abruptly end with little details. I will like to know more about their story after all the drama. Maybe in book 4, we'll know how the story pans out with all the characters. Hopefully waiting. Love the storyline. Cannot wait for Lee and Dacys story. It seems I remember these characters from a previous story. Not sure but I'll keep hopefully waiting.
When I got the email that a new book was out, I had to check it out. I have been waiting for you to write something and you did just that. I am now waiting on the second book to come out. you did not disappoint. I read this book in while lying in bed. I could not put it down. Don't make us wait too long for the rest of the series. Great job!!
This is an excellent story about doing anything for the one you love. To sacrifice your relationship for advancement and it backfires with the possibility of losing the one you're truly meant to love and build a life with. Derrick and Cindy knew their love was strong but that Nicky is just conniving.
The lead character is a idiot. The entire “plot” circles around a green card. She instigated the entire misadventure not realizing she was being played. The resolution is satisfying but there needs to be more substance.
There were several instances of words that didn’t fit the context. Those were startling.
I used to read books by this author some years ago but I must have forgotten why I moved on to others. This book was just ok in my opinion. The character development was fine but the plot was rushed and became predictable. The pace of the booked seemed rushed like even the author couldn't wait to finish it. Sorry but this one was not for me.
This was such a good book. At first I questioned how this was a Jamaican love story, but as I read on I realized it was definitely a Jamaican love story! This was a beautiful love story!
The author writes very good books, when I read a book of there's more than one book it would be great to be able to continue with the series. Other than that wonderful story let's you know nothing comes easy.
The devious acts of one so called friend changed lives. Selfishness was worn like a banner for Nicky. Derrick and Cindy loved each other forever but Nicky's jealousy kept them apart.
I would give this book a 5 star rating except that it is too short and the ending for me was too abrupt. It felt like the Author was in a hurry to end it! Other than that and a few grammatical errors, great story. But then, I'd read anything Brenda.
Excellent read, I enjoyed the characters and storyline. Derrick and Cindy are young and in love. Due to an arrangement and manipulation they were apart for over eight years. Now Derrick is back to reclaim the love of his life.
I really enjoyed this story !! Kept my mind going back & forth I felt like my mind had one outcome then it turned !! Someone looking for a nice mind scramble will love
“What a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive”! May not be direct quote but it sure fits this awesome story of love and lies. Read it, you will love the many twists and turns. Great job, Brenda Barrett!
Brenda is a master with yet another family drama. I enjoyed this book very much and is excited for the next one. I purchased the entire series because I know I would be in for a treat. Brenda Barrett never disappoints.
Good from beginning to end! I gave this book a 5-Star rating due to the skill of the writer. The word play is phenomenal. No profanity! A breath of fresh air. Oh and the plot twist had me thinking, laughing, annoyed and relieved.
I can see No Goodbye being a movie! Somewhere in the world, someone is living or has lived through a similar situation. Great read about friendship, loyalty and love. Can't wait to read the next book!
I have thirty-five books by Brenda Barrett because I love her stories. However, this one was a bit bland for me. Wasn’t truly captivated by the characters and their dilemmas.
The storyline is great, but as a Jamaican reading the book, I felt like it wasn't written by a born and raised Jamaican. It needs more dilect and more Jamaican culture.
I really wanted to dislike this book because of the character "Nicky". I kept reading, the difficulties that all the characters endured kept me fascinated. A very good story and I will read, "No Misunderstandings "
I’m truly a fan of this author. This book was good and engaging. Read it in one sitting. Cindy frustrated me A LOT!!! She was to blame for all of this and her refusal to own up to that irritated me. The story kind of ended abruptly. However, the excerpt from the next book provided the closure that I needed for this book for the most part. I am excited for the next book in this series. Historically, the books in a series by this author get progressively better and more engaging with each book. I look forward to reading the rest of them.
I can always rely on Brenda to have me gripped with her amazing storylines. Very enjoyable read. Looking forward to the next book as always. True fan of her work.
